[Helicarrier]

Kaboom*

An explosion rocked the Helicarrier.

Eddard was thrown away from the blast wave. Avalon had protected him from any physical damage but he was still thrown out of the room.

He knew where he was needed, Stark would take care of the lost engine. Loki had made an enemy of everyone on the ship, his goal had been achieved. The Avengers were definitely going to be a thing.

'Bald woman can't blame me now.' Eddard grinned as he had decided he was going to kick Loki's ass just to show the man that even if his plan worked, he would still get beaten up.

[Hulk's Containment Cell]

Eddard reaches just in time to see get thrown out.

'Shouldn't this guy still be fighting Hulk?' Eddard wondered.

"Your grin is the same one my friend's little sibling has when she teases him." Eddard commented loudly as he saw Loki grinning.

"Just the person I was hoping to see." Loki smiled coldly looking at Nate.

"Don't you feel any remorse, you might have just killed your brother." Eddard muttered.

"He will be fine. Thor has survived worse. You however won't." Loki said standing there as if didn't matter that he was on a schedule to escape.

"Will I ?" Eddard suddenly lashed out and grabbed something out of the air. His hand bled a little as the blade that he grabbed out of the air was made out of uru.

Loki disappeared from where he was standing and did not appear again.

Eddard shrugged the guy had escaped immediately and had tied him up here with an illusion.

"Ah! Coulson looks like Loki has escaped while simultaneously trapping his brother into his cell." Eddard exclaimed as the man entered with a mean looking gun.

"Mr Clarke, the Director is looking for you."

[Helicarrier Briefing Room.]

Stark, Rogers and Fury were there. Stark had his left hand below his chin. Rogers was sitting straight as if expecting another attack. Fury looked as though he had been through the wringer.

When Eddard entered, Stark immediately mocked him, "Ah! Tubelight. How are you? Looks like you have been through a war. Oh no you don't, you look like a coward that was hiding."

Eddard's eye twitched, "I went after Loki."

"So where is he?"

"Escaped using illusions." Stark eyes narrowed.

"Of course he did." the man mocked, "What were you the god of again? Incompetence?"

Eddard smirked, "You got your ass kicked by mind controlled men with guns. Loki did not confront me, if he did, he would be dead. He escaped as soon as he was freed from his prison. Though not before throwing his brother off here."

Fury grimaced at the reminder.

Eddard continued, "The cell you designed for the Hulk caused you more than problems than it offered solutions. I did not directly handle your problems for you because I wanted to see whether you can even help yourself. You failed woefully. The strongest members of your would-be Avengers are out of the fight even before it began."

"And what are you going to do now?" Fury asked quirking his normal eye's eyebrow.

"End a war." Eddard shrugged as he said it.

"You know where he is." Steve stated factually.

"Of course." Eddard nodded.

"Wanna tell us?" Stark asked.

"You will guess." Eddard smirked.

"I am sorry Mr Clarke but I can't approve a flight out for you if you don't tell me where I need to send you." Fury said.

"No need, Fury." Eddard looked at the window , "Remember, I am the God of Light."

As he said this, Eddard started drawing on the light very heavily.

" I am Light." as he said this light erupted around his legs and a engulfed him.

' This is the third time I am using this. The ability to turn my whole body into light itself to travel as a beam of light. One of my most offensive and fastest attacks and methods of travel.'

[New York.]

A beam of light hit the top of Empire State Building.

Eddard walked out of the top the building in his full armor. His gauntlet and sword by his side. He even had the Avalon in its physical state, clasped around him like a normal scabbard.

Eddard took out his phone and called Harry, "Hello?"

"Ed?"

"Yes , it is me."

"The portal has opened. Do you want to use the system?" came the voice of Jake.

"Let us begin." Eddard nodded.

Jake's excited voice sounded, "Ok. Do you have Proto-Excalibur?"

"I do."

"Plant it on the earth." Jake said impatiently.

Eddard jumped off the one hundred floor building and landed on the the ground plunging his sword into the earth that cracked.

Jayden's voice sounded, "Connection between the Sword and Clover System has been established. Activating it."

Ting*

Eddard could feel something connecting with Excalibur and suddenly it started eating at his energy reserves. This lasted for about five seconds before it stopped. And information rushed through his head.

The Clover system was a conceptual engine that would use worship as a fuel to convert it into divine energy while also being able to hold a lot of abilities that were unlocked to him.

Abilities to grant power, perform miracles, and listen to prayers. The Gods in this world were just beings with a lot of strength. Eddard, Jake and Jayden had designed a system that would allow him to be more than just powerful. The modern world had many forms of power- Economic might, Military Might, Political might, Influential Might, etc.

Eddard had a lot of military might, seeing as he was a Nuclear weapon himself. Money was not something to worry about. What he lacked was in influence on the world.

And what was a God to non-believer if not a fraud? There would be a lot of ruffled feathers when Thor shows his face in Public.

Eddard then sighed remembering he had to address the city. He grabbed the Excalibur and willed it to spread his voice throughout the city.

It again ate his divine energy to activate the miracle. The Clover's miracles used divine energy as a fuel for the concept of Miracle and Holy.

[TPP]

"People of the city of New York, I am Eddard Clarke, God Of Light. I bring grave news for all of you. The big wormhole above the Stark Industries' Metlife Building is an entry point for an invasion against Planet Earth. Soon thousands upon thousands of enemies will descend on your homes. They are here to enslave our world and will kill any and all dissenters. The NYPD should move people to the subway stations and underground parking lots. Do not stay on elevated positions. And in the underground areas, stay near pillars to protect yourself from a collapse.

This is not a jest nor is it a deception. Disregard my words only if you do not care for the lives of your family. You have twelve minutes, that is how long I will barricade the enemy force. Do not use your cars. They make easy targets. Thank you and bless you."

This is the message the city heard.

"Is this a prank?" a man murmurred.

"Doesn't seem like it." Another pointed towards the sky where a beam of light was tearing through the Chitauri Force and not letting single one escape. It was like laser that pierced one and moved to another.

A sandy-haired woman muttered horrified , "Oh my god. Is this the end of the world?" As she saw Chitauri bodies dropping from the sky. Some screeching and still alive.

A boy most-likely her son muttered, "Our side doesn't seem too weak either. Iron man will save us."

She smiled at her son, "He will, won't he? Let's go honey."

She took the finger of her son and started walking towards where the traffic policemen was guiding everybody. Many men and women had taken out their guns and were killing the still moving chitauri.

She laughed while pulling her son, "It was stupid to choose USA as an entry ground, we love our guns."

A man who looked as if he was from Texas loaded his shotgun and took out the injured Chitauri soldiers one-by-one looking as if Christmas had come early.

A few people even picked the Chitauri weapons.

[Stark Tower]

Tony walked into his office after taking his armour off. Loki was looking at the progress of the invasion and was pissed off by Eddard's stunt.

"He is annoying bastard, isn't he?." Stark said to Loki as he also looked at Eddard wrecking havoc in the invasion force.

"Oh! I thought you were on the same side."

Tony rolled his eyes at man's jab but said while pouring himself a drink, "Just because I think he is annoying, doen't mean I like a murdering psychopath like you. We are on the same side but our corners are very different."

"Let's correct that, shall we?" Loki touched Tony's chest with the scepter's blade expecting to change his allegiance. His grin disappeared while Stark smirked.

Tony started stepping back slowly and said, "You know there is no victory for you here right?"

Loki frowned, "I have an army, Stark? What do you have? Him? The Beast? My brother? They will be overwhelmed eventually. Clarke already is starting to get overwhelmed."

"The Avengers might not win, but you will always lose Loki. You underestimate the rebellious nature of the human species." Tony smirked as he could feel that his bracelets lock on. His newest set of armours was ready.

"Are you sure?" Loki smiled coldly and a screech sounded throughout the battlefield. The Leviathans had entered the field.

"I am." Tony's armour hit Loki in the back as it went to grab Stark who was running towards Loki. As he suited up, Stark punched Loki using his armoured arm tossing him through the glass down the tower, "That felt nice. I needed to even the score for getting me grinded in the Helicarrier's blades. No, wait that came out wrong."

Stark took flight towards the approaching Quinjet.

The sceptre lay forgotten on the floor.

[NYC]

Eddard had maintained the barricade for around fifteen minutes before he had been too tired to maintain it. The Shamrock Order had done its job of securing Chitauri materials and were now barricading themselves in 221B.

The Leviathans were troublesome enemies. What frustrated Eddard more was that any ionising radiation did not work against the Chitauri. They were a race that could survive the harshness of space. They were used to cosmic radiation. He had to use a lot of energy to cook them using IR or Microwaves so he had decided to go with piercing the things with his sword or solid light spears.(Another feat he had learned in his studies.)

Eddard's way dealing with Leviathan was to plunge Excalibur into their head and kicking the pommel of his sword hard pushing it through the creatures head. He had taken down about five by now. As he was thinking this, he saw the quinjet.

' Another meeting. But let's buy some time for ourselves for the talk.' Eddard pushed divine energy into his gauntlet and it glowed with its purple hue.

" Destruction." A ball of raw destruction manifested in front of his palm before getting launched towards the wormhole. When it touched a Leviathan, the thing was consumed by purple light but unlike before where it would just stop at that. The leviathan exploded in a circular pulse of purple energy that when it touched any Chitauri earsed them out of existence.

Eddard had killed hundreds of Chitauri in a single attack.

' Four years I have planned and trained for this exact move. I am winning this skirmish.'

The thunder he had been hearing rumbling also stopped. Eddard realised that Thor's prepared attack was stopped due to it becoming unnessecary for him since Eddard had just bought them some relief.

He tensed his legs and started running and jumping towards the Quinjet. It was time to end the battle.
