[Somewhere in the North Sea]
[TPP]
Nate came back home half a month ago.
After resting and enjoying his return for a day.He began implementing his plans for the island he would be building.
For the last fourteen days he had been slowly pulling the seabed up from under the sea.Nate would have said that it was an easy task but taking an illegal portkey above the sea then falling as he pulled out a broomstick to fly in the cold winds while casting a warming charm as he looked at the sea despite his thalassophobia was draining. He always felt like just under the surface of the water something was gazing at him.
The frequent storms did not help his mood in these days at all.
Finally after fourteen days,he had pulled up a cliff large just enough for him to land on.
He had pulled the cliff from about two hundred meters under the sea level. This feat was achieved by utilizing a combination of earth and water elemental magic along with the instinctual summoning magic utilized by Nate daily.
He summoned gravel and sand on the sea bed to create a small hill quickly, which he fused using earth elemental magic,he simultaneously made use of water elemental magic to maintain the original currents so as to not cause unknown damage.
This display was something that most would consider impossible due to level of control he demonstrated. He had maintained three very different and demanding pieces of magic while on a broomstick in the middle of a storm.
He let go of the broomstick , returned it to the Tesseract.
As he put his feet on the platform he had created,he felt exhilarated, he had taken the first step into making Ildathach .
Nate took in a sharp intake of breath, 'This is going to be tiring' was what he was thinking.
Nate started drawing on his magic heavily as he touched the ground using his fingers while he concentrated using his wand.
He could feel the earth moving through the cliff he had created to expand into an island fast enough to be noticeable in a minute but slow enough for the fused support to not break and sink the newly formed cliff.
This lasted for about two minutes before he collapsed wheezing from the efforts he made.
In the two minutes the ground had gone from a small cliff where Nate could barely stand on to a small island where a small village could be made.
Nate would repeat the process several times before it would be large enough for his plans. While thinking this, he activated the portkey in his cloak by thinking about it.
*A few days later]
Nate was back on the island he had raised from the sea.
Ildathach, multicolored place, the place that Nate Alexander-Irene Grey pulled out from the ocean. His legacy. Nate had never planned to go half-hearted in the project but seeing what he could achieve with his magic had left an impression on himself that he would never forget.
As he stood in the middle of the island he had surfaced, he called upon his magic.
He began speaking the charm, he had learned for this very occasion, " Declaratio signati sanguine", as soon as he finished the chant, the waves that he heard crashing earlier on the island ceased to be audible to him. This sudden silence indicated the enchantment's first step had been fulfilled.
He began the second step- the declaration or contract that had to be made. Nate simply said, " Hanc terram esse mihi pronuncio. Hanc terram quam posui de mari. Qui vivunt in illo, et qui in eo vivunt, reddent mihi.Theloneum ad habitandum in terra mea erit pars magicae.Magia, quae promittitur, ab exterioris periculo arcebit."
The declaration was of a toll that all those that spill blood to reside on the island would face. A toll that would help in warding the island and increase the general magic in the area. The spell was a latin one thus the whole enchantment had to be spoken in Latin, though the declaration could be kept vague.
When he finished his words, Nate fished out a blade from his trousers and cut his finger to drop a bit of blood on a rock on his new island. The effect was immediate, he could feel a tiny strain on his magic. Anybody blood related to Nate now if they came to the island would definitely feel the strain.
This was the first spell that he had cast on the island.
Then began the warding in earnest.
He cast a runic cluster on the bloodied rock that would draw magic from the world. The cluster simmered with golden light before dimming.
Another runic cluster for tying the rock to the land recognised as Ildathach and also tying it to his own self followed the previous runic magic. As soon as Nate cast this runic cluster, the rock vanished into motes of golden light yet Nate knew that this was just an effect of the cluster making the rock an abstract entity. It became what is known as a Wardstone.
Wardstones were rare because unlike Nate who could cast the whole runic cluster immediately using his wand, most people have to carve it out and wait for it to gain enough magic to activate the cluster, which if done through natural magic would take a lot of time.
The thing that ties a place, its owner and its wards together. He could feel the blood ward that was surrounding Ildathach latching onto the wardstone bringing the total number of actual wards upto one. The number of enchantments was now three.
The blood ward latching onto the wardstone lead to the strain on himself decreasing.
"Prohibeo Apparate, Prohibeo Disapparate" It was a jinx that prevented apparition and disappartion respectively from inside the boundaries of the wards. It was cast on a wardstone.
"Prohibeo Portus" Another standard jinx against portkey.
" delere maledictiones" This one was a special one because if translated incantation-wise it meant "To erase curses" but what it truly did, was make everybody on the island a recipient of the curse. Thus if it was a single-target spell, it would fizzle out at the boundary or if it was a large number spell like the curse that made someone or some family incredibly unlucky, they would fail because the magic would not be enough to make everyone that lived on the island unlucky.
' It could be bypassed by soul magic or ritualistic magic if you think about it.' Nate thought to himself.
" Salvio Hexia." Charm to protect from minor hexes.
Nate decided another ward that was important were repulsion wards, thus began another series of enchantments " Repello Muggletum" was the first one. Followed by the more difficult ," custodire ab malum terram" which would protect Ildathach from the type of people who Nate certainly had no liking of, the DMLE.
When he was finished with the most basic enchantments on the place, that would hide, protect and sustain Ildathach. Nate destroyed the temporary wards he had erected against detection when he first began his work.
He began resting a bit as the enchantments had taken a bit out of himself as well.
While resting, his thoughts went back to his study of time and how he would be beginning to increase and decrease its relative flow for an object when he went back to Hogwarts in September.
An hour passed and came the second round of enchantments.
This time he cast one of the most important spells since it was a spell that had never been used like this in a magical place on such a large scale. Atleast this was true in Britain.
" imperium tempestas" It was a charm that could control the weather. Normally used in rooms for warming or cooling. The original designer had wanted to use it to control the weather but had failed to do so due to the enormous magic required.
Nate just cast it on the wardstone without making any changes to the weather thus not requiring much magic for the spell. He was pretty sure even he did not have the Power to control the weather of the whole island from temperature, humidity, air pressure, winds, sunlight and clouds alone.
" separatum in ordine" It was a charm to divide a charm's effect into smaller subsections. He used it to divide the effects of the weather charm into hundreds of smaller subsections of the same weather charm that would allow for a blizzard in one part of the island while having sunshine in another.
" Auxilium Cervus" A charm used in Herbology to promote growth of wildlife.
" Nescio" The charm that makes an area unplottable.
This ended the all the enchantments of the second set.
Allowing another fifteen minutes of rest.
The third set was the most unique enchantments.
" Custos Scientiae" This would allow for the wardstone to hold memories and knowledge. A piece of enchantment placed upon pensieves.
Nate then pointed his wand at his temple and pulled out memories and information that he wanted to give to the wardstone, once he had pulled them out, he waved his wand in the air and cast, " Impremere Scientiae", writing the knowledge he wanted upon the wardstones new memory.
Nate checked the stone and whether the spell was working properly three times before casting the final spell of the final set.
" Spiritus Scientiae" This was an animation charm of the highest degree and was used in magical chessboards and portraits. Once the spell took effect he could feel the control of the wards slipping from himself to someone else.
"I would greet you but you are already aware of my presence, Nate Grey."
