an: sorry for the long ass delay, I've been hyped up for some LN that I've managed to find amidst the nonsense on the internet. Well, they were technically web novels.

Anyway, if you want to read ln/wn, then do remember one thing. Do not judge a novel based only on reviews. At least, don't lean on them 100%. Just read it first, and then you could decide if it was worth it or not. I remember a novel with 3.7 stars as reviews. And damn, it was one of the novels that keep hype me up even till the end!

Ehem, I prolong the an for too long.

"...Are you perhaps an incubus?"

With an annoyed look on her flustered face, Megumin looked up at the olive-complexion face. A face seemingly sculptured to perfection by the greatest of sculptors. It was an exaggeration, but it's not like she could point out a perfect level of judgement towards this matter.

Still, this disciple of hers was too handsome it was dangerous. It was somewhat funny when she was the one who say it, as the holder of over 240 Charm stat, but her circumstance was different.

She was the greatest Crimson Demon to have ever been born since the legendary Crimson Devil. The one who is excessively compatible with the traits and characteristics her bloodline provides her. Whether it was Charm, Aptitude or Magic Proficiencies, she exceed them all compared to her peers.

Irked, Megumin looked down and hide her blush. Maybe this is what those infuriating males felt when they saw her face.

Her damned heart was racing too fast!

«The host succeeded in making Megumin Ostensionem Daemoniorum [ Rank AAA ] very agitated!»

«Receive 450 Affectum Points!»

"Cover it up."

Her little hand stretched out, giving him simple clothe.

"...Yes."

Helpless in this matter too, Kazuma could only comply. He concurred with her, anyway. The visage of a chasing man flashed by, making him shiver.

Under his teacher's begrudging gaze, he wore the clothing with a simple knot, ensuring it would cover at least half of his face. Even so, his irritatingly captivating eyes were still put in the exhibition, and even those eyebrows were so distracting!

Megumin could only complain inwardly. As her student was present, it wouldn't be appropriate to spout such things.

"However, Protégé, I just left you for a while yet you've changed completely. So what happened?"

Now that the sinful face was covered, Megumin, who was covered by a hood too, was finally able to look him straight in the eyes. She could see those green shades, changing and amending from what she's seen them for the first time.

No, what was shocking was those fluctuations she felt from him. The fluctuations of an awakened soul. That distinguishable feeling of a being who has integrated themselves with the sole controller of the universe, mana.

Albeit small and insignificant, it came from a person who had insufficient talent, according to the device. Noticing this, the intrigued Megumin could only come to a single conclusion.

Not to mention his damned appearance that keeps getting betting and better!

"You've awakened your bloodline?"

"Yeah, I think."

Kazuma had no reason to refute it. Moreover, the technique of actualising one's assumption of oneself is very effective. She was the one who assumed that he possessed an unawakened bloodline.

It was somehow effective against her.

"Perfect! Puh, I thought it would remain in slumber. With this, we could proceed with our lesson! Follow me!"

Under his puzzled look, Megumin scooted over to the Quest Board and snatched a sheet, as if already knowing what she wanted to choose beforehand. She tilted her head to him, showing him a glimpse of her perfect countenance.

Inwardly, Kazuma indignantly scoffed, 'Bah, you want to reprimand me about my looks with that kind of cuteness?'

"I got the quest when you were running around. No need to search."

Kazuma noticed the orange sky when they were out of the Hall. He hadn't noticed it before, but the fragments of clouds in the sky were so... distinguishable. They were being highlighted by the orange, warm rays of the sun, making them beautifully realistic.

Like a perfect blend of colours of white, black and orange. A piece of art even the most capable artists wouldn't be capable of duplicating.

He was struck.

Perhaps because it was extremely contradicting to the terrifying darkness and the abyss-like man he had experienced. Or it could be that what he saw in life was often related to its shittiest parts.

So when he was exposed to something as simple yet beautiful as the sky, he came to realize.

How beautiful this world could be.

Kazuma glanced at his teacher beside him, who happily enjoyed the local ambience of Axel. She carelessly smiled, refining her already perfect countenance even more. He saw it behind that hood of hers.

He admits, even though she was somewhat small, her face is one of a kind. One of the most perfect he had ever seen.

And then, as if wanting to show him something, that silhouette materializes itself yet again before his eyes. Those flows of glistening silver, combined with the most perfect of violet gems and the pair of glittering pink lips that slightly curled up.

He never thought it about since he was here in this world, but has he been a little bit too lucky?

He was granted a system capable of turning him into a literal demigod like in those fiction works. He was able to meet an actual Goddess, albeit reincarnated. And he got the most excellent amidst the already terrifying Crimson Demon as a companion.

He was able to reincarnate in this world. A world where all of the mentioned circumstances occur.

As he and the Crimson Demon sauntered up on the road ahead for the quest, Kazuma pondered.

...Perhaps there were hidden meanings in these events? Objectively, at base value, Kazuma could be considered extremely lucky, but he knew that a rule existed.

That everything happened for a reason.

Everything that occurred, in any way, is always for a reason.

It was impossible for there not to be.

The reasons, and the purposes of every action and occurrence. The initiators and the movers of them.

Even as simple as some random, stupid acts of those people Kazuma saw on the internet back on Earth. They have a reason for existing. To bring humour and laughter out of those people who many calls have broken humour.

So, if something as stupid as them have a reason, it was basically delusional for what he underwent to not happen without a reason.

...His head hurts.

This was a bad habit. To think too much of assumptions and speculations. Kazuma grimaced.

When he got unanswered questions that his mind cannot answer by overthinking, his mind would go haywire and be frustrated. Kazuma knew that it was like a limit. A limit of his brain. In the first place, thinking about assumptions isn't really reasonable.

"You're in deep thought."

A flat, squeaky voice brought him out. In response, he turned his head to his teacher, who stared at him with half-lidded eyes. As if witnessing someone stupid.

"May you share your thought with me?"

"Teacher, do you think that everything happens for a reason?"

As Megumin briefly looked at the gate of the town they soon would pass, she raised an eyebrow at her protégé's question.

"Elaborate."

"Imagine there was a single leave that falls from its branches. Do you think it happens for a reason?"

"What kind of reasons do you talk about here? If we talk logically, then of course. The fallen leave could be the indicator that leaves has a limited lifespan, granting us with the knowledge that they were indeed mortals."

"If that is so Teacher, then how about the fact that everything would eventually turn to ash in the end? Is there an apparent reason?"

They soon passed the gate of the town, revealing the wide green field that extended beyond their sights.

"Then that's just something we accepted. If we asked why then, maybe it's the law of the world. Maybe it was fate or destiny, or it was an established ordinance by the evolutions that happen by years, the years that are beyond our comprehension."

Despite being presented with a somewhat existential question, Megumin relaxedly answered. Her shadowed crimson eyes leisurely looked around.

"There's no definite answer?"

"Definite answers? It was impossible to perceive things through that way. We don't have that privilege. Even something like a withered grass has an inexplicable amount of reasons for it to happen, even if we did an intensive research and observation. And perhaps behind its occurrence lies a reason that could only happen once in an unknown period. It was hilarious to expect something such as a 'definite' answer if we talked about reasons."

Her eyes shined under those shadows, glistened with a profound light.

"This world has always been interesting to me. It was basically filled with infinite possibilities. Perhaps there was an unsolved case that a piece of meat could produce an immaculate explosion. Who knows?!"

Kazuma turned dumbfounded at her words. However, processing over her previous statement mitigates his unbelievement. Still, for a piece of meat to have a chance for it to explode was somehow, er, 'illustrious'. Unless it was injected with some sort of thing.

"So, my protégé, in simplicity, to answer your question, then of course, there would be reasons. But not everything's reason could be perceived. And, even if it did, it wasn't a guarantee that it was all."

"I see..."

Kazuma could feel it.

That relieving feeling from the mind.

...He was enlightened.

"Anyhow, enough of those heavy topics. Today, as my student, I want to show you why your powerful teacher was known as the indisputable number one of her generation!"

Without him knowing, they already stood above a considerably massive hill, which looked like a massive bulge on the vast green field from afar. Before him, lies a clear, wide green field. Flowers in the wilderness were randomly scattered around, with small insects and lifeforms running around from here and then.

And right now, it was overlayed by an unbelievably huge orange magic circle. It enveloped almost the whole innocent green field that his sight could grasp. One that seems to convey the message 'destruction' by the way it emits menacing red torrents.

"Uhh..."

"Heheh, you might doubt me from before..."

'No, I did not. Really.'

The reminiscence of her insane aptitude was a sweat inducer for him.

"But, if you might think that with my young and tender form, I am not a qualified teacher, then let me show you!"

The clothed pole was disclosed skillfully by her little, lithe hands, exposing a simple wood crane with a red gem embedded on its C-shaped, albeit stagnant and slanted, upper end.

However, Kazuma was shocked.

Because there were dozens, if not hundreds, Giant Frogs, hopping from the horizons beyond his sight gathering around here. As if there were disturbed by the disturbance and by their instincts, were curious by it.

'These frogs... they're gigantic-'

"I'll show you! My damned clan! How you've underestimated this legendary spell of mine!!"

Startled by the sudden rage in her voice, Kazuma looked at his teacher. But her crimson eyes, now exposed by her blown hood, were cloudy. Distracted. Then, the magic circle intensified. Her cane's upper end glowed, and additional magic circles materialize itself above the massive magic circle.

By then, the Giant Frogs sense an ominous feeling. It keeps intensifying, and when they couldn't bear it any longer, the hundreds of Giant Frogs tried to turn around.

Unfortunately, it was meaningless at this point.

"Darkness blacker than black and darker than dark, I beseech thee, combine with my deep crimson."

The already intensified magic circle was getting even more intense. Kazuma took a nervous breath. Those quivering, massive magic circles were very ominous. Terrifying. As if it was capable of demolishing his very being right this instant.

"The time of awakening cometh. Justice, fallen upon the infallible boundary, appear now as an intangible distortion!"

The sudden materialising, blazing, orange circle on his feet makes him subconsciously jump. However, when he felt nothing from it, he sighed in relief. He looked towards the source and find that his teacher was its main focus.

The massive, no, gargantuan massive circles were now spinning. It might not produce the waves created from their resistance against the wind, considering their existence that was brought out from mana, but Kazuma could still feel it.

The Destructiveness.

"Dance, dance, dance!"

Megumin slowly stopped as she uttered those words, solely focusing on her staff. Then, she placed it perfectly in line with her glabella. And as if more power was absorbed by the staff, it glowed even more menacingly.

Her crimson eyes were wide open. The brightest they've ever been.

"I desire for my torrent of power a destructive force: a destructive force without equal!"

Therefore, a massive pillar of destructive mass of energy descends from the sky, reducing what is in its way to cinders. Kazuma looked up, and his brain unconsciously engraved it on its surface.

This. This is something that deserves to be called an Extinction Maker.

A thing that is capable of initiating an extinction.

"Return all creation to cinders, and come from the abyss!"

The surrounding suddenly turns dark, as if the abyss itself truly has descended to accentuate something for this world. His green eyes reflected it, the might of what that pillar of destruction could bring.

It expanded. Covering the sunlight itself. Like an eclipse.

Those magic circles were simply insignificant compared to that pillar.

"This is the mightiest means of attack known to man, the ultimate attack magic!"

Like a proclamation of the world, an indisputable declaration, the pillar flashed. It thinned down, perfectly in line with the magic circles' midst. The eerie crimson light on the tip of his teacher's crane then shoots out, initiating the ignition of the pillar. And then,

"Burst forth!"

it descended.

Kazuma witness what it means to substantiate an extinction.

He witnesses what it means to be the one with the potential to become a God.

"EXPLOOOSION!"

...

Silence in the world. As if everything was peaceful. And then,

BOOOOM!

All hell broke loose.

A breathtaking explosion was presented right before his eyes, to which it engulf all the green field his sight could grasp. It generates a gargantuan, earth-shattering shockwave, almost throwing him back if not for his increased strength.

The glorious visage it beholds. The crimson torrents that indiscriminately engulfed everything it holds.

Like an incarnation of the infamous Purgatory. Like the imitation of the deepest level of hell.

So this is what that assassin meant by being the Hell-bringer.

An explosion in form of a mushroom, sweeping everything to cinders.

Perhaps, he was supposed to feel fear. To feel terrified. Death.

But, was he really supposed to do that?

As the shockwave forcefully went through his skin and hair, his green eyes were forced to open. The clothing mask's knot wasn't strong enough, and it was blown away. Exposing his devilish face to the world.

'This so-called Extinction Maker that my teacher was obsessed with...'

The explosion itself remained for a whole minute, colouring the world with its embers of orange and torrents of red. Presenting what is in its way like the hell's entrance. The cloud nearby dispersed, and some were burnt down by the explosion itself.

The whole time, his green eyes never shift. They stay in place, not wanting to miss even a single second of this.

The sky itself near him has already been dyed red, with darkness surrounding the land. What he had experienced back then that supposedly traumatizing, does not affect what he was currently exposed to.

Such a spell, who could stand it? Who could not feel fear by being in its presence? Who could survive till the end? Who could go against it?

Yet, he did not fear it.

Maybe because he felt death once. Maybe, he was already numb. Or maybe he was still in the state of elevation by what he experienced back at the alley.

...Or maybe because the caster was a gluttonous, cute demon who he identified as his teacher.

"AHHH! Amazing! I knew it! Explosion with my emotions at their peak would be the best Explosion ever!!"

A cute screech sounded out beside him. Flinching by his eardrums, he turned to the source and saw the proning teacher of his, who enjoyed the scenery of purgatory with glee. What's this? A psycho loli?

"Hey! I might not look at you, but do keep in mind that I could always detect someone's ambience! And right now, I feel ridiculed. This, is unacceptable!"

"That is just your assumption teacher. How could this good Protégé would do that to his beloved, loveable Teacher?"

"Eh... What did you say?! It won't work the second time! Tsk, good-for-nothing-but-face!"

«The host succeed in making Megumin Ostensionem Daemoniorum [ Rank AAA ] agitated!»

«Receive 300 Affectum Points!»

She threw her face away from him, and proceed to viciously ridicule him. But it doesn't matter, as always.

However, unbeknownst to him, this was truly the first time that Megumin's Explosion did not appal away someone. The first time someone could casually talk with her despite being the witness of the strongest attack known to mankind. To act normally with her despite the scene similar to Purgatory that the spell indicated.

As Kazuma looked at the scenery of the aftereffect Explosion Magic inflicted, his green eyes shined in interest. Maybe this is what hell looks like.

'Fascinating.'

Under the huge, funky hat, a sole crimson eye peeked out. Megumin might look like she was gushing with excitement, but she felt anxious and anguished. A companion and a person she could talk to normally for the first time in months, and despite meeting for not even a day, she wanted to show this to Kazuma.

Because, if it was kept secret for too long, the more it would hurt. If, she kept it for weeks, months! And when she already formed a deep bond with someone, and then that someone was terrified by her because of this spell she deemed beloved.

It would hurt. Very, hurt.

She did not hold any expectations. She just wished he wouldn't insult her with claims of evil alike. This happened too many times, but as her age people considered just a child, it still hurts, even when it already happened many times.

She doesn't care if strangers do so. But someone she considered close?

Megumin took in a trembling breath. Her eyes slightly moistened, but she forced herself to look up, and she did. To know how he reacted.

Maybe she forgot the way he replied to her assumption because of her anguish. But when she saw his face, her heart stopped. Slowly, her face turned red hot.

On normal occasions, that handsome face of his was already troubling. But those damned effects enhanced it even further. Megumin wanted to throw a tantrum.

Such a face keeps making things unbearable for her...

Frustrated by the predicament that befalls upon her that gives her multiple, annoying feelings, she threw away her hat and gloriously showed him her irked face. Shouting indignantly, "Hey, should you fear it?! Look at how glorious it was! You should feel anxiety! Fear!"

Then, she shifted her face angrily to the Pulgatory incarnate on the previously Green Field and leave everything up to fate.

This is it. Another parting.

Honestly, she enjoyed these hours with this Protégé of hers. Albeit short-lived, it is memorable.

Just another passing cloud. Amidst the crowded world, it was meant to be forgotten. Well, maybe it was more comparable to a life and death moment. It was short on time, but heavy on impact.

...Maybe not as bad as that. Megumin grimaced, she's bad at making comparisons.

However-

Kazuma shifted his face to her way, smiling in amusement. By the way he sees it, she just mimics a person screaming out 'Fear me!' while trying as hard she could to be intimidating with her cute look.

'Fear...'

Looking at the immense destruction it conducts, a logical reaction is to fear. To run as far as he could.

Maybe he was just too dumb. Too complacent with this very sole fact. But he didn't run away because of it.

The fact that the caster was this cute demon was very illogical, especially for people like Kazuma who always think with utmost logic. But that's really what makes him feel no fear.

No, more precisely, it was her eyes.

Those brilliant, glimmering big crimson eyes that would shine even under the darkest of shades.

Such a pair of gorgeous eyes. Perhaps he even admits that this sole aspect surpassed what he presumed as perfection.

How could a holder of such a pair of eyes take glee in mass murder and extinction?

Kazuma saw many eyes. When he was a mere toddler, he saw a pair of disgusting, sickening hollow eyes, filled with endless greed. That, was his first maker. Another one, when he was starting to be aware of life, was a pair of vicious, revolting green eyes, the very eyes that he inherited. That, was his second maker.

They were his parents.

He sighed wryly. It seems like the past was still stuck with him. Those days when he was over-concerned and anxious by the people around him. He was apprehensive if he gotta meet more people like that two trash.

Avoiding the type of people such as them as much as possible...

But it is valuable. A precious lesson that will prevent him from associating with trashes in human skin.

He looked back momentarily, and then, he looked forward. Towards the Explosion that now has turned the green field akin to Hell.

Kazuma chuckled humorlessly.

"A block of stone could harm a person if the wielder intended to harm. A feather could kill a person if the wielder intended to kill. Yet, a knife could be helpful if the wielder intended to use it so. A sword could be a defender of a being. And an Extinction... perhaps it could prevent an apocalypse also."

There's no need to elaborate on it any further, because he knew that his Teacher was too smart to not grasp it.

He heard a couple of movements from behind, and a hand grasps his foot.

"Hey Protégé, instead of saying all that, pick me up."

"...Explosion is really that consumptive, huh?"

"A worthy exchange to unleash such a power!"

He took a second to look at her face. It was a pretty exaggeration to describe it in this way but her face seems to glow after casting the destructive spell. A pair of glistening, big crimson eyes look up at him from there, and they shimmered gorgeously.

The way the orange gleam from the Hell incarnate from below illuminates a part of her perfect face and the slight smile that perhaps she did not realize has formed itself, was captivating to see.

"Hey, stop staring. I know I'm the most beautiful Crimson Demon and all that but we gotta hurry. If the prosecutors of the authority were to see our visages amongst the destruction here, the condition might turn to be more haywire!"

Kazuma crouched as his eyes looked at her dumbfoundedly, who was struggling to lift her body and lean on his back, hugging his neck tightly.

"Prosecutors?"

After adjusting her position, she nodded in satisfaction. Then, Kazuma hurriedly stood up and walk from the scene. And as if unbothered by being caught, a relaxed, squeaky voice shook his eardrums.

"Of course. Do you think they would ignore such a huge disturbance as this? Notably the fact that it was near the Beginner's Town?"

"Then why didn't you choose a place further than this?"

"Tsk, can't do. The area outside the Beginner's Town's juncture was filled with wild monsters and such. If I were to cause this much disturbance there, it was as if wanting to be surrounded by those monsters."

Contrary to the relaxed Megumin, Kazuma was hasty in his strides as he urgently leave the green field, letting out a sigh of relief when they were out of its juncture.

"...Then isn't it better to not cast it at all?"

"Hah?! Impossible! I cannot live without the relish of that Explosive feeling! Don't be such a maniac!"

His eyes twitched at her response. Even if she didn't hold any malicious intent when casting such a spell, it was still problematic and questionable to cast a literal extinction initiator for some mere 'relish'. And she called him a maniac to prevent her from casting it?

"...You know Teacher, you were pretty stu-"

However, a warning alarm prompted itself within his head. It seems like it became more apparent by the fact that he already witnessed the most threatening aspect of his Teacher. A visage of his being getting eradicated by Explosion Magic as he took it head on, point blank nonetheless, was presented by his brain.

Inwardly cold-sweated, he paused his sentence. It was such a pity that it does not bore any fruits at all.

"Hmmh? What were you saying? That I was pretty what?"

Multiple instances instantaneously were conveyed by his brain, and yet what came out is the simplest answer of them all.

"You were pretty."

"Tsk! Hngh, stop using these petty tricks, unfilial Protégé! Do you think because of our lack of age difference, you could keep doing this?! Or perhaps you were oh so confident about your face that you want a leeway by acting like this?!"

«The host succeeded in making Megumin Ostensionem Daemoniorum [ Rank AAA ] very agitated!»

«Receive 500 Affectum Points!»

"Um, I apologize Teacher. I thought you like being complimented."

"I did if it was genuine."

"Didn't I...?"

"I can see your gestures' meanings and your eyes' glint!"

He just smiled wryly at her response. He truly had no ulterior motives yet his teacher calumniated him with multiple assumptions of her own. Truly, a pitiful being he was.

However, it was a fortunate thing that she was in a good mood, so despite being stimulated, the atmosphere around her was a pleasant one. Therefore, he could walk with her on his back with ease.

Including his heightened constitution and Megumin's light body, the walk was a light one. Kazuma looked around, noticing how peaceful and beautiful the outside world was. It was odd, especially since the sky here was somehow more realistic than in his homeland.

It's just... different. The greenery of the leaves of numerous trees and the wilderness extended beyond his foresight. Which lay countless wonders and unknowns he had yet to know.

Yes, there might be monsters or even bandits. There might be organisms that held malice and were poisonous. But even if those variables were included, he cannot deny a fact about this world.

Even if corruption in the towns and kingdoms, the extent of cruelty humans could conduct that he had yet to find out and the deadly spells and threats that loomed over numerous horizons, not to mention the consequences of trash-like humans and pieces of shit having supernatural powers at the tip of their fingers... Even if they were all included, it doesn't change this fact.

It doesn't change the fact that this Fantasy World is a world beyond wonders. An immensely beautiful world. A world that held countless mysteries that were even more prominent and exotic than in his homeland. Something that he for sure cannot imagine.

"Hey, Kazuma. The previous sentence that you told me... about a feather could kill a person if the wielder intended to kill... it means that everything depends on the wielder right?"

Not to mention its partly beautiful inhabitants. As a man, Kazuma appreciates such beauty.

"Yep."

"...Hey, do you fear me?"

It was different from before. She said it in a soft-toned voice, softly whispering right into his ears. He tried to took a glimpse of her current face at the corner of his eyes, and a barely distinguishable smile, yet again, formed itself on her perfect face. The face that was enhanced even further by those two protruding, cute small horns.

"Teacher is not a fearful person. I have no reason to fear you."

"Even after what I've done?"

A curious face greeted his sight, looking at him with its gorgeous big, crimson eyes. He just shook his head.

"Even when I know that Teacher has perceived it, I shall say it. Yes, I did not fear Teacher. I saw the way you care about the citizens in the town, therefore I conclude that it was unlikely that Teacher took joy in destroying, even if Teacher's favourite was the embodiment of destruction itself."

...

«The host succeeded in making Megumin Ostensionem Daemoniorum [ Rank AAA ] heart tremble!»

«Receive 1000 Affectum Points!»

"Hmph, commendable Protégé. This Teacher appreciates it. You're not ignorant."

A soft-toned whisper entered his ears. However, he was too focused on the way that lay before him that he only took it on base value. If he focused, perhaps he could discern a slight difference in her tone.

Just a small, insignificant difference.

A sigh of relief was released when a familiar gate greeted his sight. The difference was that there seems to exist discernable waves of people with distinguishable white clothes beside the gate. Though he was sure he had no business with them.

And he was also sure that a Crimson Demon also has nothing to do with them-

"Um, Kazuma, do fasten up your paces if you could-"

"Ah? What a filthy demon doing in this place?"

...

...

...

An annoying, repulsive sneer from one of the distinguishable people was discernable even from this distance. Kazuma felt his eyebrows twitched when these seemingly sacred people, supposedly graceful corresponding with their white clean robes embedded with golden cross, shoot a disdainful look towards him. Specifically the Demon on his back.

'Fuck.'
