(3rd POV)
Considering the events that had taken place Perseus was in a decent mood for the circumstances. He had just finished handling a situation involving one of his new creations and their proclivity about breaking his most basic rules. Sending Michael to handle the out of order race was extreme but after so many atrocities committed it was better to just start over. It saddened him that those methods were necessary but, in some way, he must have known that these situations would happen. In fact, when creating Michael and the other Archangels this had been one of his first considerations. It was also why they were so important to him and the rest of creation, keeping the balance and rules set was one of the most important jobs. Still, it shouldn't have taken so long for this decision to be made, Perseus had once flooded his prime creation just to cleanse the world of all the rule breakers. That was millennia ago though and he was beginning to think that he was becoming soft on his judgement of breaking his commands. Either way it was time to check in on his prime creation.
Looking upon Earth and its inhabitants always found a way to intrigue him, they truly were his most willful creation as of moment. Maybe he would try again with creating a separate race of humans in another part of creation. Pushing those thought away, he found his sights set upon the most curious of situations between Alex and his friends in a standoff with a manticore. That was when he heard it, the horn of the Hunters of Artemis clearly blown for all to hear. Perseus was extremely interested now; direct interference was something that he strictly forbade when concerning the mortal and immortal world. Sure enough, Artemis stood there right along with her hunters while her lieutenant awaited her orders. The manticore, going by Dr. Thorn, was extremely angry about this progression of events and Perseus couldn't blame him for it in this instance. Perseus waited impatiently for Artemis to make her decision regarding the turn of events. Seeing if she would go against his word and commandments and directly interfere with mission of Alex and the other campers. He listens as Artemis made her argument regrading wild beast but couldn't find himself in agreement with her assessment. He had given the Fates strict instructions when considering what domains mean and stand for.
When Dr. Thorn fell off the cliff to plunge himself and the attached daughter of Athena to their death Perseus simply transported them before Luke and his compatriots. While he didn't necessarily want the Titans back into control of the Earth balance must be maintain and the rule of his laws must ALWAYS be followed. Unfortunately, it sometimes took drastic measures to teach lessons and repentance to those deserving. This was only the beginning for the campers, hunters, and immortal goddess for what was soon to follow and begin was truly going to be a test.
Perseus turned his attention away and summoned Lucifer to him for his next mission. As usual the Archangel took no time to arrive at his father's bidding, even if of all of the creations Lucifer took the most leeway in regard to his orders. The mission was simple in nature and would take much effort on Lucifer's part, but Perseus was interested in seeing the conclusion. Lucifer could be ferocious at times but that is how it had to be sometimes.
Perseus turned his attention back to the hunters and demigods on Earth and waited. The hunters had set up a temporary camp and the demigods were arguing with each other and assigning blame. Not that it would do much good in their current situation, but Perseus wasn't of the mind to send that type of message to them just yet. He might have already made the decision to become more active when concerning Earth, but he also believed in free will for his creations. What was interesting to see was the subtlety that Lucifer was already exerting upon the hunters and their goddess. He left not moments ago and already Perseus could feel his machination at work. Lucifer had exposed the markings and tracks of some of the more ancient monsters from times almost long forgotten, it wasn't a sure thing but for a goddess that lived for the hunt it couldn't hurt. Especially with her being on the Olympian Council, it would almost be mandatory for her to focus her efforts on the monsters.
Artemis made the decision to call upon her brother, Apollo, to transport the demigods and her hunters to Camp Half-Blood, although it was with great reluctance and many threats. Apollo seemed to get the message well enough even if he still mindlessly flirted you could tell that there wasn't much behind it. The demigods and hunters were on their way to camp while Artemis began her search of the ancient monsters. Already she could tell the tracks were going to take her west but how far and to where she couldn't tell yet. It was almost like something was inhibiting her ability, but she shook it off with not immediately recognizing the monster and their abilities.
Lucifer led the goddess on her journey to discovering the monster and dispatching it accordingly all the way to the lion's den so to speak. Perseus had basically given him free reign with dealing with the goddess for breaking the rules of non-interference. As long as things didn't go to far than Perseus didn't feel the need to step in and save the goddess. one could say that he was fairly irked at such a blatant breaking of some of the most basic of rules. Artemis soon found herself at the base of the Mt. Orthys and it was only to late for the goddess to realize the trap that she had been lured into, she didn't even have any time to react before Lucifer knocked her unconscious and left her for the patrols to find her.
Artemis was trapped and she knew it when she felt the chains on her arms and legs holding her in place. It was at the sight of Atlas that she truly felt concern for the first time in millennia. The choice he offered was simple enough and Atlas found a sense of joy in inflicting upon the daughter of the man responsible for his punishment to experience that same punishment now. It was easy predicting her choice, Artemis would never leave a maiden to suffer under the weight of the sky and especially not a mortal one. The consequences of the earth and sky meeting would be detrimental for everything in the surrounding area and maybe even the world itself. Little did she know that the true punishment was only just to begin while a man stood before her looking down and smirking.
Lucifer for his part barely waved a finger to distract the mortals, monsters, and Atlas from noticing him approaching the trapped goddess. Which the goddess certainly looked astonished at considering the widening of her eyes at the sight of his sudden appearance. There was hardly any introductions to be had between the two only the sudden feeling of dread that set upon Artemis.
AN: Thank you for reading the 14th chapter of Universal Order and I sincerely hope that you enjoyed the reading. Getting back into this story has been a much-needed experience for me, that and knowing that people actually enjoy this story. You should start seeing the differences between the books and my story from this point forward. For me the third book is almost always one of the best spots to start divergences depending on the story line.
