Chapter 4: Frobo

"Alright, we're all packed right?" Anne asked the group.

"Yup!" Polly confirmed

"Yeah!" Sprig also confirmed.

"Let's do this thing!" Marcy cheered.

Sasha stayed silent.

"Just as long as we're careful." Hop Pop added.

"I can't wait!" Luz squealed.

"This is pretty exciting." Amity added.

"Ok… LET'S GOOOOOOOOOO!" Anne shouted.

The group today, were setting off to quarreler's pass, keen on seeking out this "Mother of Olms" that the vase in the museum said that they should find.

As it turns out, Sprig and Polly had already bumped into a couple of these olms during their first trip there, so that made the search that much easier.

And now, they were all set and ready to go!

At least, they were… until.

*CRASH*

Frobo fell over.

"Frobo?!" Polly shouted in panic.

Rushing over to the robot, she struggled to flip him over so his face was facing up.

Anne and the others quickly came over and helped her.

"His eyes… they turned off…" Anne said.

"Is… is he dead?" Polly asked, tears welling up in her eyes.

"No! Nonono! I'm sure he's fine! He just uh… needs a nap!" Anne said, trying to defuse the situation.

"It looks like he just ran out of power… but how?" Marcy asked, turning to Amity. "Didn't you say that he should just draw from the magic in the air now?"

"Yeah… we used the same tech as the abomaton's that my dad made… wonder how it lost power…" Amity asked.

"Hmmm… well, there's one way to find out." Marcy said. "The Olms can wait a bit, let's help Frobo first."

"Agreed. Sorry to call you out here just for this to happen Sash." Anne said.

"Eh, it's fine." Sasha said. "For some reason, I'm kinda dreading meeting this 'Mother of Olms' you guys were talking about."

"Do you… uh… want to come with us?" Marcy asked. "To fix Frobo I mean."

"… Nah, I'll pass." Sasha said sadly. "I still gotta finish that report, so if we aren't gonna do the Olms, I think I should just go home and finish that."

"O-oh! Ok!" Marcy said. "I… guess I'll see you around?"

"… Later." Sasha said as she walked through the portal Anne had just opened for her.

"…Marcy…"

"We can worry about that later… let's focus on Frobo for now." Marcy said sadly.

"… You know that you can talk to me about it, right?" Anne asked as Luz was pulling out the portal key for the Boiling Isles.

"I know… I just want to focus on what's happening right now." Marcy said as Luz opened said portal.

"Yeah well, I'm sure it's nothing worth worrying about." Anne said. "You know Sasha, if she really was upset about something, she'd say so."

"I know, I know…" Marcy said.

At this point, they paused their conversation for a bit to focus on loading Frobo onto a cart, before everyone took him through the portal.

Anne really wanted to give Marcy more peace of mind, but really, how could she?

It wasn't just with Marcy, Sasha had been acting distant with everyone since that sleepover in the Boiling Isles. The only difference being she actually TALKS to Anne, but she's been almost completely silent when it came to Marcy.

"I oughta have a talk with her, you already have too much to worry about!" Anne said, rolling up her sleeve.

"Please don't punch her… again. You've already given her enough bruises." Marcy said dully.

"Fine… I'll only punch her if she really deserves it." Anne said with a smirk.

Marcy couldn't help but laugh at the face Anne was making.

"Geez, just not too hard." Marcy said, kissing Anne on the cheek.

"Fiiiiiine." Anne playfully groaned out.

As they were walking, Luz and Amity were watching their conversation from a distance.

"Wish we could do something to help…" Luz said.

"Well, we don't know Sasha or Marcy as well as Anne… so we should just leave it to her." Amity said.

"Yeah… you're right…" Luz said.

But, while Luz and Amity decided to leave it alone, a certain blue bird disagreed, and flew over and landed on Anne's head.

"Huh?" Anne asked. "Did something just land on my head?"

Marcy, on the other hand, was trying her hardest to hold in her laugh.

"L-Looks like Bluebert found a new nest!" Marcy said.

Then, she lost control, and began howling in laughter.

Anne normally would of been annoyed by the bird's antics, but seeing Marcy's mood change for the better like this, just made her smile.

"Yeah well, don't get too comfortable up there you little menace." Anne said with a smirk.

"Aww, looks like he just wanted to improve your mood!" Luz pointed out. "That's sweet Azulito, thanks!"

"Kinda crazy though." Amity pointed out. "He's normally not that quick to trust people like that."

"King is still trying to get him to like him…" Luz pointed out.

"Well, after everything we've been through, I guess it makes sense." Anne pointed out.

"Hey… can I give him scratchies?" Marcy asked.

"If he lets you, sure!" Luz said.

Marcy then whistled to him, and held out her hand, which Bluebert gladly accepted and hopped down into it.

"Let's see, if you're anything like Joe…" Marcy said, before scratching him behind his neck.

He very much seemed to like that.

"Awww… he's so cute!" Marcy said happily.

"Yeah, he really likes that spot." Luz said with a laugh.

She then began scratching his back… but then she noticed something weird.

"Say… what's with the weird orb?" Marcy asked.

"Huh?" Anne asked.

"Yeah, it's hidden in his tail feathers, see?" Marcy said, holding Bluebert up so Anne could see.

"Huh… weird…"

"Whaaaa?! An orb?! That's crazy Marcy haha! Race you guys to Amity's house ready GO!" Luz said quite frantically.

She was not counting on Anne appearing in front of her in a flash of blue.

"Hold on Noceda… what's going on?" Anne asked.

"You keeping secrets and not telling us Better Dressed Anne?! Da heck?!" Polly asked.

"I… Uh… you see…"

Suddenly, Amity put a hand on Luz's shoulder.

"Luz… we should tell them the truth." She said.

"What? Are you sure? I mean, you know what could happen…"

"Yeah, but we can trust them… she seems to anyways." Amity pointed out.

"…She?" Marcy asked.

Luz looked to Bluebert, who nodded.

"… Alright… show them." Luz said.

Suddenly, Bluebert began to glow.

Then, when the light faded, gone was Bluebert, and remaining was…

"A snake?" Anne asked.

"Not quite… she's a snake shifter." Luz said. "A magical creature that can turn into whatever she wants! Kinda like how I get to decide just what I want to be."

"Wait, you're calling Bluebert a she now… wasn't he…?" Sprig asked.

"Anything they want includes gender." Luz said bluntly. "Also, her name is String Bean."

"I… see…" Anne said. "But like, why not tell us?"

"That… was her decision." Luz said. "Snake Shifter's are really rare, even here. So, a lot of crooks really want to get their hands on her."

"Between that, and Snake Shifters being… well, non-existent in the human realm, she just kinda… turned into Bluebert to keep herself safe." Amity explained. "She only turns back to normal around the people she trusts."

"Awww… And that means…" Marcy started.

"Yup, she trusts ya!" Luz said happily.

"Oh String Bean!" Marcy said happily before hugging the Palisman.

While caught off guard at first, String Bean nuzzled into the hug before long.

"So, if we're done retconning Bluebert's entire existence… can we PLEASE go and help Frobo already?!" Polly asked.

"Right, sorry, come on everyone!" Luz said.

Stringbean then flew over to Luz, and nuzzled against her cheek.

"Yeah… they are pretty nice, aren't they?" Luz asked, to which String Bean nodded.

"Welcome everyone, to Blight Manor!" Luz said with a flourish.

"Whoaaaaaaaa!" Marcy said in awe.

"You LIVE HERE?!" Anne asked. "Are you like, super rich or something?!"

"Yeah well, my dad's made us a lot of money, especially when he was…" Amity said before sighing. "Commissioned by Belos…"

"… I'm sorry what?" Anne asked.

"It's… exactly how it sounds… it was before we found out exactly what he was planning, and my mom puts business before EVERYTHING so…" Amity explained.

"Ugh, don't I know it." Marcy groaned out.

"I uh… noticed you don't talk about your mother much Amity." Hop Pop pointed out.

"Yeah… our relationship is kinda… not great." Amity said.

"Again, I FEEL ya girl!" Marcy said before patting Amity on the back.

"Thankfully, she's almost never home and is out marketing, so we won't have to deal with her." Amity said. "And my dad really isn't a bad guy… just easily distracted and kinda let my mom walk all over him for a while."

"When we found out what Belos was planning, they immediately jumped ship on their deal and began helping us fight him." Luz said. "Her mom was NOT happy about having to do that."

Amity seemed a bit annoyed about that, mumbling something about some deal they made.

"Can we PLEASE stop talking and just go in?!" Polly said, tears forming. "I just need to know that Frobo is okay!"

"Oh my gosh Polly! I'm so sorry!" Anne said as she picked the pollywog up and hugged her. "Don't worry, we'll get Frobo fixed up in no time!"

"Yeah! Amity's dad HAS to know how to help him!"

"Hey, do you think this is gonna be one of those times where someone says something will happen, but then someone else ends up saying the exact opposi-"

"I do not know how to help him." Alador said as he finished examining Frobo.

"Called it." Sprig groaned out.

"What?! But you made his body didn't you?!" Polly asked.

"Yes, but that's just it. Nothing seems to be wrong with him." Alador explained. "In fact…"

He then made a magic circle, and Frobo suddenly sprung back to life.

"FROBO!" Polly shouted as she leapt up and hugged him.

"I thought you said you couldn't help him?" Luz asked.

"See that's the thing, while I did turn him on, his reserve of magic is really low." Alador explained. "If you were to go back to… Amphibia was it?"

"Yeah, that's right."

"If you go back there, I estimate he'll shut down again within seconds." Alador said.

"So is his magic charging… thing broken or something?" Anne asked.

"No, like I said, it's functioning normally." Alador said. "Hence him being able to turn on. When I built his new body, I outfitted it with a magical battery of sorts, just to make absolutely sure he'd have enough power to get through the upcoming battle."

"But he should of absorbed enough magic to stay working regardless…" Amity pointed out.

"I do wonder about that…" Alador said. "Can you take me to your world?"

"Huh? Oh, sure." Anne said. "Marcy, the key."

"Right away!" Marcy said as she pulled out her key.

After opening a portal, Alador grabbed some equipment and everyone stepped through, leading right back to the Plantar home.

And sure enough, Frobo shut down again a couple of seconds later.

"Frobo!" Polly cried out.

"Hmmm yup. Just as I thought." Alador said as he was walking away from the portal. "There is some magic here, but not nearly enough to keep him functioning."

"Wait really? Then why do the glyphs still work just fine?" Marcy asked.

Alador stood there in thought, seemingly stumped by this question.

"Well, String Bean provides the magic for glyphs for when I use them." Luz pointed out. "And I think because we were so close to the portal the first time I was here, the glyphs probably just used magic coming out of that."

"First time… you mean when you and Anne first met right?" Marcy asked, taking notes.

"Yeah… but then why would they still work for you?" Luz asked.

"… The calamity powers!" Marcy realized. "Of course! Because of the gems and our powers, we were unknowingly providing power to the glyphs!"

"Hey yeah!" Luz said. "You're probably right!"

"That would explain why those healing glyphs stopped working for me when you girls went home." Hop Pop said.

"So all we gotta do is jam the gems into Frobo and he's fixed!" Polly said happily.

"I mean, we could, but that much magic would probably overload him and… well…" Amity started.

"He'd blow up." Alador said.

Polly looked horrified at that possibility.

"Uh… ok yeah… probably a bad idea." Polly said sadly.

"So… what can we do? Can you make more of those batteries?" Anne asked.

"I could… but those are very costly and wouldn't last terribly long." Alador said. "I suggest we try and come up with a more… permanent solution."

The group then went to thinking.

Of course, Marcy was the first one to come up with a plan.

"Ok, so here's what we do." Marcy said. "First, we get rid of Frobo's magical upgrade, it's clear that we aren't gonna help him with that body."

Everyone nodded at that, it did seem to make the most sense.

"Then… I guess we just try and build him a new one, without magic." Marcy said.

"Uh… hate to break it to ya dude, but that seems really difficult." Anne pointed out. "I don't know if you forgot, but Andrias's factories all got trashed when we tried to fix the environment with our powers."

Marcy… couldn't help but laugh.

"Oh Anne, did you forget?! I studied Frobo more than ANYONE! If anyone is gonna be able to fix him up and get him back to normal, it's gonna be me!" Marcy said, quite proud of herself.

"Oh yeah… that whole thing…" Anne groaned out. "I seem to recall that you didn't sleep for a week between studying Frobo and finding the second temple, and got seriously sick because of it…"

Everyone just gave the girl in question a pointed look.

"… I promise to get my daily eight hours while repairing Frobo." Marcy said plainly.

"Glad to see you are taking better care of yourself now!" Anne said sweetly.

Marcy laughed nervously at that.

"Well, I'd hate to worry you like that again." Marcy said sheepishly.

"Marcy…"

Looking down, Marcy saw Polly looking up at her expectingly.

"Do you really think we can fix him?" Polly asked.

"Of course we can! Given time, we can make him better than ever I bet!" Marcy said encouragingly.

Polly then had a huge grin on her face.

"CAN I HELP?!"

"Don't see why not!" Marcy said in a "What could go wrong?" tone of voice.

The rest of the Plantars did not like this idea.

"Uh Polly? Maybe you should just leave this to Marcy." Anne suggested.

"Yeah, she probably knows what she's doing." Sprig pointed out.

"But… Frobo's supposed to be MY responsibility… shouldn't I at least help fix him?" Polly asked.

Anne swallowed thickly at that.

"I mean, yeah he is but…"

"Kids… I think we should let her." Hop Pop said suddenly.

Literally everyone, even Alador, looked at the old frog like he had grown a second head.

"… What?"

"Dude, that is really not like you to just… let Polly do this." Anne said. "I mean, all those wires and stuff… what if she gets hurt?"

"Or she hurts someone else…" Sprig said under his breath.

"Yes, but she'll be working with Marcy." Hop Pop said. "I trust her to keep Polly out of trouble, and this could be a good experience for her."

Polly couldn't help but smile at this.

"Besides, we all know that even if we said no, she'd do it anyways." Hop Pop pointed out.

"Ah, that makes sense." Anne said.

"It's all so clear now!" Sprig said happily.

"He drives a hard bargain!" Luz pointed out.

"Well, good luck." Alador said.

"… Geez, thanks guys." Polly said flatly.

Marcy couldn't help but chuckle at this.

"Don't listen to them Polly, we're gonna fix him up just fine, right?!" Marcy asked.

"…Yeah!" Polly cheered. "Let's do this!"

"And don't you worry… this is gonna be easy." Marcy said confidently.

A few days later

"This is not easy… not easy at all…" Marcy said as Anne was combing her now singed hair on the couch.

"Who knew robotics was so difficult?!" Polly asked from the floor. "We'll never fix Frobo at this rate…"

"Hey, don't talk like that!" Marcy said. "We know what needs to be done to fix him up, we just… need to figure out how to do it is all!"

"Didn't you study building stuff in Amphibia though?" Sprig asked.

"I mean, yeah… but those were literal buildings and architecture. Robotics is a whole different beast…" Marcy said. "Honestly, it's been something I've been wanting to study, even before we went to Amphibia."

"So… is there a way that we can learn then?" Polly asked. "I mean, some kinda class here on Earth?"

"Eh, we can probably just look on the internet." Anne said. "That's how I do all my research."

"Either that or I help you." Marcy pointed out.

"That too." Anne said sheepishly.

"You know, you've mentioned this 'internet' thing a couple of times… what is it?" Hop Pop asked.

The two girls simply gasped at his question.

Suddenly, the two of them dashed upstairs, leaving behind a very confused frog family.

Before long, they were back downstairs with Anne's laptop, chatting excitingly about what they should show them.

"Behold…" Anne started.

"THE INTERNET!" Marcy shouted excitingly.

And Anne opened her laptop.

And suddenly, the Plantars knew everything they needed to know.

"The answers to the mysteries of the Universe right at your fingertips!" Sprig said in awe.

"It's an endless well of knowledge." Hop Pop added.

"… How'd you guys…?" Polly asked.

"More like an endless well of…" Marcy started.

"CAT VIDEOS!" Anne shouted as she pressed a button.

Suddenly, a compilation of cat videos began playing, the four of them watching in pure joy.

"… Can we PLEASE just help Frobo already?!" Polly asked.

"Oh right! Sorry Polly." Marcy said.

"Just be patient Polly…" Anne said.

"No! I am done being patient!" Polly said, tears starting to form. "Every time we go and try and fix Frobo, you guys all get distracted! And when we finally get to work on him, it all goes wrong!"

Then, the tears began to fall.

"I just… I just want my best friend back…"

Everyone's heart broke at that.

"Oh Polly…" Marcy said as she picked Polly up and hugged her. "I am so sorry… don't worry! Frobo is gonna be our top priority from now on!"

"*sniff* Thanks Marcy…"

"Now come on! We got some research to do!" Marcy said as she took Anne's laptop into the garage, Polly in tow.

"Do you think this is a good idea?" Sprig asked.

"Probably, I trust Marcy to not get them in over their head." Anne explained. "They'll have this figured out before you know it!"

"Well, that was two hours of my life that I'll never get back!" Polly said in a noticeably better mood than two hours ago.

"That's the internet's most dangerous power: The rabbit hole." Marcy explained.

"Great! Oh hey what's that?" Polly asked as she moved the cursor over a video.

"Hmmm… Oh the IT gals! I remember these two! They got pretty popular in the area earlier this year!" Marcy explained.

"Really? What for?" Polly asked.

"They would build robots for various things, like a dancing cat that also makes cookies." Marcy explained before scrolling through their videos. "Oh look! I guess they decided to start a video tutorial! This should be perfect!"

She then proceeded to click onto the video.

"Welcome to the IT girls self help playlist! First up: Gearing up!"

The two then proceeded to watch, before going and getting some new gear, now looking like a couple of grease monkeys.

Polly was confused what a grease monkey was, but Marcy simply promised to fill her in later.

The two then got back to work on Frobo while watching the video tutorial.

Instead of the abomination body that he had before, Frobo was now outfitted with a washing machine… they agree'd that getting him up and running was the first thing they should do, then they can deck him out with the coolest look later.

That didn't keep them from attaching a bunch of stickers for now though.

Thankfully, the video tutorial series proved to be invaluable, as they were able to get just about everything done.

… Everything but the power supply.

"You know, all things considered, maybe we should of thought of this sooner…" Marcy said. "Don't think the batteries from the TV remote will work."

"Do we have anything stronger?" Polly asked. "Maybe we should do one of those… vroom thingies that they mentioned to ask for help?"

"Hmm… well, maybe Anne's dad has something. I'll go ask him, but you feel free to give them a call." Marcy said. "Probably not a bad idea, just don't give away the fact that you're a frog, ok?"

"You got it!" Polly said with a salute.

Marcy then left the garage to look for Bee.

"So, how's it going?" Anne asked as Marcy walked into the kitchen.

"Going well, we just need the power supply we think." Marcy said. "Hoping your dad has something for that."

Bee walked in at that moment, having heard the conversation.

"Hmmm… No, I don't think I have anything that strong… maybe one of your old childhood toys has something? I remember some of those having pretty beefy batteries." Bee said.

"Like Teddy Lumpkins?" Anne asked.

"Yeah, that!" Bee said. "He should be in the garage somewhere."

"Ok, let me come help you look for him I guess." Anne said. "But we gotta be gentle, that toy was my childhood and I do NOT want to ruin it!"

"Even though it's super creepy now?" Marcy asked.

"Yes, even though it's super creepy now." Anne said sternly.

"Alright, come on." Marcy said.

The two then walked back to the garage to see that Polly was already done with her video call.

"Hey, those two give you any ideas?" Marcy asked.

Polly then turned around slowly, with something in her flippers.

"Yuuuuuuup…" Polly said in a creepy tone.

Then they saw what she was holding… and tearing apart for it's battery.

"TEDDY LUMPKINS NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" Anne shouted in dismay as Polly slowly tore the battery off it's back.

Polly then nonchalantly tossed the toy to the side before hopping on Frobo.

Meanwhile, Marcy kneeled down and patted her girlfriend on the back, consoling her during her grief over losing her toy.

"And with that, he should be fixed!" Polly said way to happily for someone who just committed toy murder. "We should get the fam!"

"Whoa whoa whoa, Polly, you want to turn him on now?!" Marcy asked. "Shouldn't we, you know, take him somewhere else? You know, so we DON'T risk damage to the house?"

"… I mean, I guess, but…"

"It'll take a bit of time, cause we don't wanna break anything on him, but we should be good to take him back to Amphibia in the morning!" Marcy said.

"NOPE!" Polly said.

"What? Why?" Marcy asked.

"I am not waiting another second to get my best friend back!" Polly said before holding the remote out in front of her.

"Wait Polly DON'T!"

Too late.

Polly slammed her flipper onto the button, before electricity began to surge through Frobo.

The amount of charge was so great, that it caused the lights in the house to flicker before going out.

"What is going on in here?!" Hop Pop asked as he and the rest of the family rushed inside the garage.

At that moment though, Frobo's eyes turned back on, though they were blue now for some reason.

He then began saying something about his model number and that his startup was engaged.

What got Marcy worried though was when he said "Factory settings restored."

"Frobo? Is that you?" Polly asked as she hopped up to his face. "It's me, Polly!"

"Uh, Polly? I think you should get off of him!" Marcy said.

"Huh? Why?"

"Username not recognized, will now attempt to make contact with headquarters. A higher vantage point required." Frobo said.

"A higher what now?" Polly asked.

At that moment, Frobo shot through the roof, a screaming Polly in tow.

"Polly!" Marcy shouted.

"MY GARAGE!" Bee shouted

"MY LUMPKINS!" Anne cried.

Marcy couldn't help but give them a deadpanned look.

"Ugh, fine, I'll go up and save her." Marcy said before pulling her gem out of her pocket and using it's power.

She then flew up through the hole Frobo made and quickly caught up to them.

The bad news was that this was aided in the fact that Frobo's boosters were no longer working.

"Polly! Grab onto me!" Marcy pleaded.

"No! I'm not leaving him!" Polly said.

"But Polly!"

"I… I have to get him back! Please Frobo!" Polly said as she began crying. "You need to remember me… please… I missed you so much, and now we're both gonna die. I'm so sorry."

She began hugging his head tightly before the tears began to go down his face.

Suddenly sparks began to fly, as Frobo's blue eyes turned back to the familiar yellow.

"Po… Polly…" Frobo said.

That caught Marcy off guard.

"Wow, point for blind faith I guess…" Marcy said.

"Frobo! You're back! Yay!" Polly said happily.

"Uh, no need to alarm you but uh…" Marcy said before pointing down.

"… Oh, right, the dying thing."

Frobo then attempted to fly again, but to no avail.

"Marcy!" Polly shouted.

Marcy nodded, before flying under Frobo and attempted to slow down his descent.

Not sure how tough of an impact they'd have, Frobo put Polly into the washing machine to keep her safe.

Thankfully, it wasn't too much of an impact as both Marcy and Polly landed safely.

Frobo on the other hand, wasn't so lucky.

Turns out, all the old screws parts they used couldn't take much abuse, as they completely fell apart upon hitting the ground.

"Frobo!" Polly shouted.

Thankfully though, the head was perfectly intact, as his eyes were still filled with life… at least, as much life as a robot could have.

"Oh thank goodness…" Marcy said.

"Marcy! Polly!" Anne shouted as the group went into the back yard.

"We're ok! And Frobo is still looking decent too!" Marcy said. "Though we gotta work on the 'just a head' thing."

Polly meanwhile was having a touching moment with the head, and promised to take her time with fixing him.

"Wow! Sturdy!" A new voice said.

Looking over, she saw the IT gals were there for… some reason.

"Uh…"

"They were concerned after their call with Polly." Anne explained.

"We were kinda just riding around aimlessly when we saw her flying into the air." Jess explained.

"Looks like his hard-drive is still in one piece at least." Ally said as she began walking over to Frobo.

"We probably just need to tune the PID controllers for next time." Jess added.

"Oh yeah, to increase his lateral and longitudinal stability." Marcy said, joining the conversation.

While they were all talking robotics, Anne couldn't help but watch with a smile on her face.

"Wow, they really got into robotics, huh?" Anne asked. "Just earlier today they were completely lost on how to fix Frobo, but now they look like pros."

"The internet truly is powerful." Hop Pop pointed out.

"Yeah…" Anne said, still smiling.

Truth be told, she was more happy about how this completely got Marcy's mind off of what happened to her in Amphibia. Something to get her mind off of everything that had happened that she really seemed to love.

"One step at a time…" Anne said quietly to herself.

"Hmm? Say something Anne?" Sprig asked.

"Oh, nothing important." Anne said.

"… So like, are we gonna talk about how your hair changed color how you were flying a minute ago?" Ally suddenly asked.

And everyone's hearts dropped.

"Oh! Uh… funny story! Uh… FAMILY MEETING!" Anne shouted.

The group then began to huddle up.

"Ok, this is bad! What are we supposed to tell them?!" Anne asked.

"I don't know! What would be believable around here?!" Sprig asked.

"Nothing! We're dead!"

"… Hold on… I got an idea Anne." Marcy said.

Then, she began to whisper something into her ear.

"Whoa… you sure they'll go along with it?" Anne asked.

"They love robots, and I'm sure they'd be happy to help." Marcy said. "I mean, they came all this way because they were worried about Polly."

"True… alright, I trust you." Anne said.

"Ok, take the lead Marcy, we'll back you up." Hop Pop said.

"Ok… BREAK!" Marcy said as she clapped her hands and everyone separated.

"Uh… you guys good?" Ally asked.

"Yeah, I just have one question for you two… can you keep a secret?" Marcy asked.

"… Sure?" Jess said, unsure as to what could be going on.

The Next Day

"… Whoa…" Ally and Jess gasped out as they looked out into the distance.

They were not at all expecting the story about this Amphibia place to be true!

"Yup, this is where we were for five plus months." Anne explained.

"Yeah… wow… can see how you'd want to keep this a secret." Jess said.

"Though, it seems like it could really use some TLC." Ally added.

"A byproduct of the war sadly." Amity said.

They had filled Luz's group on what was going on with the IT girls the night before, and they were happy to come along to help explain everything.

"We were actually hoping that you could help with that actually." Marcy explained.

"Really? Us help rebuild a whole country?! How are we supposed to do that?" Ally asked. "Like, we're good with robots, not plants."

Marcy couldn't help but smile.

"Yeah well, that's what we need!" Marcy said happily. "You see, Frobo here was actually built here as a war robot, he's just… not like the others."

"We actually quickly found out that he's like, SUPER good at farming." Anne added.

"So you want us to fix up his old body so he can farm again?" Jess asked.

"Not exactly." Marcy said. "There are actually a lot of scraps from the robots that we destroyed during the war."

"We'll all help you out of course, but we were hoping that you'd be able to come to Amphibia every so often and help rebuild and reprogram the robots to help with the rebuilding." Amity explained.

"… So what you're saying is that we get to help rebuild a civilization AND study alien tech?!" Ally asked.

"… Yup! That sums it up!" Luz said happily.

"And in the process, we'll learn more about how to fix up Frobo's body!" Marcy added.

The two girls then looked at each other with huge smiles on their faces.

"SIGN US UP!"

The group couldn't help but sigh in relief at this, they were kinda expecting them to freak out and say no.

"Well then, welcome aboard!" Marcy said.

"… Can we start now?" Ally asked.

"Oh! Uh… go nuts!"

The two girls then cheered before running of into the distance, eager to get to work on the nearest robot.

"… Welp, things are going much better now I say!" Marcy said happily.

"Yup, good thinking Marcy." Anne said.

Things really were improving.

Meanwhile

Mr. X was sitting on his couch, enjoying a fun movie.

Suddenly, his phone began to ring.

"Ugh, can't they see that it's my day off?" Mr. X said as he answered. "Yes, this is X."

"… Uh huh?… What? A flying girl with green hair? A robot? An orb shaped child with a tail?" Mr. X asked. "Hmmm… Alright, it's nothing concrete, but I guess I could take a look. I'll keep you updated."

He then hung up and looked back to his movie.

It was just about to get to the big final battle.

"Man, I hate cliffhangers…"

End of Chapter 4

Yup, that is how I am ending the first batch of this story.

We'll be back in about a month for the second batch. This first batch WAS pretty Amphibia heavy but don't worry! We will get into some good Owl House content soon.

So some background for this chapter. There was always going to be a cliffhanger at the end, but I changed it to Mr. X since, well, we gotta deal with him at some point, and since Anne-sterminator doesn't happen in this universe, I figured this is the best point to drop that on ya.

I also used this chapter to establish that yeah, magic in Amphibia doesn't actually work as we might of thought. It's there, but not nearly enough to support glyphs or Frobo's abomination body for too long, that was pretty much Demon Realm Magic leaking in or the gems at work.

Next up, the IT Gals! I actually had their role in this story sorted out from the beginning! I thought that having them help rebuild and reprogram the frobo's would be the best way to utilize their characters. As such, they get to actually go to Amphibia! I am gonna try and include them in future chapters of course, so don't think this is the last of them!

We will be going to see Mother Olm eventually, just not for a bit. They're getting side-tracked for a bit.

Also, STING BEAN! I held a poll on my twitter a while back, asking what I should do about String Bean in this story, if I should just keep them bluebert, go back and change it all, or just retcon it. My followers picked the retcon, so here we are! Had to throw a little joke about it in there. Bluebert will still be around, mainly in the human realm, but Sting Bean is how she'll be most of the time.

Anyways, next up we will be going back to A True Family… but not for a couple of weeks.

I am actually gonna be doing a bit of traveling next week, and will more than likely not be bringing my laptop, so I think I am just gonna give myself a week off to recharge and just enjoy my trip. We'll be ready to go in two weeks!

So, see you all in a couple of weeks when we return to A True Family!
