Special Containment Procedures: All samples of SCP-AAL are kept in a metal 24x12x24 metal container within a standard containment storage area of Site-AA. SCP-AAL may only be taken out of containment by at minimum a Level 2 researcher from the Alchemy Division. Under no circumstances are SCP-AAL, even modified versions, are to be used for medical purposes. Anyone who does will be demoted to D-Class and used to test newly made SCP-AAL variants by the Alchemy Division, there are no exceptions.

Description: SCP-AAL is a mutagenic single celled organism artificially created. SCP-AAL's primary purpose in function and why it was created was to take the body to its absolute limits, in physical and mental health. SCP-AAL does achieve this but at the cost of there being no limits. Even those who take samples of SCP-AAL in small dosages every week will see the positive effects; however, even with just the smallest bit of SCP-AAL entering the body, the host will not be free of the inevitable.

First known symptom are intense headaches and loss of perceived as perfectly real by the host. The hallucinations tend to differ between person to person as some see people who are not there while others see double vision while others end up make erratic movements and/ or decisions.

Depending on how much SCP-AAL is ingested into the body is how long it takes for the secondary symptoms to take effect. Secondary symptoms vary between individuals, but the main two symptoms are degradation of the body or over mutation of the body. common symptoms of degradation include, instant rotting of the face, deterioration of the organs, compulsive bleeding and mucus production, as well as fragility increase of the body and eventual implosion of the body. symptoms of over mutation include increased size of smaller body parts such as the eyes, tongue, or genitals as well as muscle spasms and combustion. Strangely enough when a small enough part of the body falls off it becomes sentient now being controlled by SCP-AAL. However, it seems to just wander aimlessly until it eventually dies without a host. If possible, SCP-AAL will enter a new host only now it will be able to multiply faster within the host without having to rely on the host to willingly take SCP-AAL samples. Thankfully this method of infection is mostly impossible for SCP-AAL to achieve.

SCP-AAL was discovered in 1993 by the Australian branch of the Foundation. SCP-AAL was originally created by a small medica company called Vimuville to be the ultimate dietary and health supplement. As such SCP-AAL was disguised as pills, injections, and other forms of common medicine to keep the true nature of SCP-AAL hidden. SCP-AAL has originally created with a genome that prevented it from going beyond the human limits. However, a rouge scientist removed the genome and thus SCP-AAL was allowed to mutate and degrade the body without limits, killing the people of the experimental small town known as Vimuville in horrific ways.

SCP-AAL was originally hunted down by the local police but after the collapse of Vimuville with all its employees being infected with SCP-AAL and dying as well, the case was handed over easily to the government. As standard procedure the Australian government handed over all info concerning the incident to the Foundation. Surprisingly the local police were cooperative with taking the proper amnestics while others didn't need amnestics seeing it all as "just another day on the job" and thus agreed to keep silent while destroying all documents relating to the case and give the rest to the Foundation.

SCP-AAL samples collected by the police were then given to the Foundation and are now experimented by the Alchemy Department. The 05 Council saw the potential of SCP-AAL if it was ever completed and its missing genome was repaired. With SCP-AAL Foundation staff, researchers, security, and MTF personnel would have the greatest bodies and minds without having to rely on typical combinations of memetic, cybernetic, and meta-science methods to increase the limits of the body. However, the Ethics committee has set a rule that SCP-AAL is only to be administered within Foundation staff AFTER extensive D-Class testing and anyone who tries to rush production even with a seemingly perfected SCP-AAL sample will be hunted by MTF Omega-1 and demoted to D-Class. Afterwards, they will be forced to test the SCP-AAL sample themselves as punishment. A D-Class must pass the physical and mental test labeled test: AAL for it to be considered a success. D-Class must also stay alive with no side effects for at least 20 years before SCP-AAL can be used by Foundation medical staff, by order of the Ethics Committee.

Update March 13th, 2023: Currently SCP-AAL samples created by the Alchemy Department staff and medical staff have a 66% fatality rate and a 91% success rate.
