Dozens of Remnant reinforcements came through, as USSC reinforcements started approaching. For the Remnants, this was their final stand. Their whole fleet of nearly Twenty-thousand ships arrived.
Itami grabbed his rifle, and along with his pal headed towards the front lines.
PATRIOT Systems fired, as another Covvie remnant craft was shot down. He looked up, scared, as he saw a USSC SPARTAN Squad run next to him.
As the Covenant remnant started charging, Banshees conducted strafing runs, as USSC Seraphs and Katanas shot down enemy craft en-Maße.
A pod smashed down, and a brute, along with several uggnoy and Kig-yar emerged. He raised his rifle, and took aim.
He aimed towards a unggnoy, and squeezed his trigger two times.
Two standard 7.62mm NATO Rounds flew out of the barrel of the rifle.
The shots slammed into the Unggoy, only serving to annoy it.
Nearby, a USSC Marine, well, a Unggoy, tossed him two 7.62mm Mags, and yelled, " Human, these are 7.62 USSC Rounds, they are way more effective!"
He nodded, and ejected his own mag. Unchambering the round inside, he loaded this new mag, and chambered a new round.
Aiming carefully at the Unggoy's head, several bursts of plasma and spikes flew over his head, as he squeezed the trigger twice.
The two 7.62mm USSC Rounds flew out, this time literally going through the unggoy, killing it.
He aimed at another, squeezed the trigger. And at another again, squeezed the trigger.
The Unggoy fell like flies, as the brute roared.
Suddenly, a pinpoint hardlight bolt flew out of a USSC Marine, as the brute was hit in the chest, and it yelled… Loudly.
He set his rifle to full auto, and held onto the chamber.
26 7.62 USSC Rounds slammed into the brute, causing it to roar, as two USSC Marines took notice of this new brute, and fired at it, killing it rapidly.
He loaded his second mag, and set his weapon to semi-auto, again.
The Master chief double-yielded a SMG, firing wildly into the crowd of hostiles, killing many. Coordinating defenses. Meanwhile, Cortana stood next to him, expertly handling a Caseless M13-A SMG, spitting out plasma-covered lead and high explosives, firing short bursts to cut down incoming unggoy and Sangheili.
The chief said, " Lieutenant, Rondezvous with your team. Take cover."
Itami nodded, crouching under a sandbag with his friend, holding up a radio.
After coordinating his team, he started moving, raising hIs rifle.
He took aim towards a Kig-Yar, as he heard a scream.
He turned in horror, as a ball of plasma from the Kig-yar slammed into Richard next to him, burning through his shoulder.
He yelled, " RICHARDS!" As he dragged the man, who is already unconsious down. He yelled again, " MEDIC! CORPSMAN!"
A USSC Medic, a Sangheili this time, ran over. Immediately applying Bio-Gel, as Itami gritted his teeth, blood boiling.
Taking aim at the Kig'yar, he aimed toward it's head, as it's shield was faced towards a JSDF Troop, and fired three shots.
The results were instant and deadly, as the Kig'yar's head quite literally exploded, causing blood to splatter everywhere.
Through his radio, he heard a order to retreat, as crowds of brutes, Grunts, Jackals rushed through the entrances.
Tanks fired at Covenant tanks, the 105mm Cannons doing decent effect, as Banshees even conducted suicide runs.
USSC Tanks started going through the gate, as Katanas conducted attack runs. Streaks of hardlight cut into the Remnant lines, yet eventually, more and more remnant troops swarmed in, replacing the dead.
In-Orbit
As a USSC cruiser lobbed a 2000-ton Projectile at 15% of the speed of light. The projectile, covered in burning plasma slammed into a Covenant corvette, piercing the shields, and going directly through the ship.
The Armour-Piercing projectile speared through another corvette, before finally slamming into a cruiser, taking down the shields.
Several cruisers fired plasma torpedoes, slamming into a Reach-class cruiser, as hardlight grids locked in. A Soft-blue grid appeared, defending the ship from the onslaught of magnetically-contained balls of flaming plasma, letting the plasma splatter harmlessly on the shields, slowly lowering the integrity.
Two remnant destroyers fired their dual plasma lances towards the cruiser, as the hardlight grid began to fail, some blobs of plasma started to splatter on the ablative armouring.
The cruiser's missle pods spewed out missles, and secondary weapons spewing out enhanced plasma, as it aligned it's nose, yet, the shields went down after just two seconds, already weakened by a massive barrage of plasma torpedoes. The ablative armour underneath boiled off, as the two destroyers broke off their attack, as USSC missle slammed into the shields, decreasing their power rapidly.
A remnant Assault carrier decided to utilize it's glassing beam. Pointing it's belly towards a Reach-class cruiser, the massive glassing beam fired.
The glassing beam stripped a Reach-class cruiser's shields in 10 seconds, as the ship's thrusters burned. The Beam was stopped for 1.5 seconds by the ablative armour, as the Reach-class cruiser rapidly turned, preparing it's spinal hardlight lances.
Two small hatches in the front of the cruiser opened. Energy gathered in the emitters for a Brief 2 seconds, as With a bright blue flash, lances of hardlight spewed out from the along with hundreds of missles, as a final act of defiance, as the glassing beam went through the shields of the ship, burning through the structure of the cruiser. Crew members ran towards the escape pods, and hatches around the ship opened, launching the escape shuttle pods, as Triangle-shaped escape pods entered the dimensions of slipspace.
To the surprise of the USSC, it seems like the entire remnant fleet was here, to take this world. Phantoms, Seraphs, Banshees, Katana's, and long swords twisted in a deadly battle.
" SUPERCARRIER-CLASS SLIPSTREAM EXIT DETECTED!" An AI yelled on the BATTLENET, causing a headache in everyone who has a neural link ( everyone), and is linked to the BATTLENET.
The massive Covenant remnant super carrier, the Shield of the Great Journey spat out from slipspace.
Admiral Adama nodded, as his ship's RCS Thrusters burned, aiming the front of the ship towards the Covenant supercarrier.
The two massive ships went into a broadside.
" Sir, Hardlight shields are at 37.2%." The AI said.
The deck guns of the massive ship turned, as bright lances of energy spewed out.
The ship's forerunner gravity drives turned the ship, as emergency RCS Thrusters burned.
A massive hatch at the front of the ship opened, as energy started gathering.
A Nearby USSC Cruiser's PMAC flashed, as the enhanced shields of the massive supercarrier squashed the round into atoms.
Energy lances fired, along with hardlight lances, rapidly draining the shields.
Then, in a bright flash,
A beam of pure energy materialised between the two ships, as light turret-mounted PMAC's spat out tungsten and plasma.
The beam cracked the shields, as it dug into the layers of Covenant alloys, going through the ship.
The supercarrier was cut in half, literally.
ODST Deployment Bay Alpha
USSC To The Unknown
" TROOPERS, WHAT IS OUR MOTTO!"
" FEET FIRST INTO HELL, SERGEANT! HOORAH!" A Chorus of ODST Troopers yelled.
The Sergeant yelled, " EM' MARINES GET TO RIDE DOWN IN THEIR FANCY DROPSHIPS, BUT WHAT DO WE DO? PODS, NOW NOW NOW! HOORAH!"
ODST Troopers ran to their orbital drop pods, As the massive 100-Kilometre-long Dreadnought rapidly swooped in.
Major Jim Talisman, in charge of the ODST Units on-board the To The Unknown clambered into his pod. As the commander of ODST Units on-board he had the luxury of a Multi-Crew Orbitally-Inserted Field Command Centre, or a ODCC.
Strapping in, he linked up to the BATTLEnet.
Following tradition, he yelled.
" TROOPERS, WE ARE GREEN, AND VERY, VERY MEAN!"
The pod jolted, as magnetic clamps detatched.
The rumble of orbital entry loudened, as the pod entered the atmosphere, hardlight screens locking in.
Thrusters burned, as the ODCC Landed, and rapidly expanded out, as nearby, SOOEP(C)'s slammed into the ground, deploying ODST Troopers.
In the Capital of the Empire, everyone was scared. There are flashes in the heavens, and men are dropping from the stars.
Meanwhile, at the GATE, 5,500 ODST Troopers and several SPARTAN-VII's dropped in.
A fighting retreat was fought, as the small amount of USSC Tanks fired wildly into the large crowd of brutes, and the troopers guided old UN Troops.
On the other side of the GATE, civilians screamed, as gunfire was heard near the gate.
People watched in wonder, as people who looked suspiciously like they were from HALO fired wildly at… Wait…. Are those Brutes from HALO?
HALO Fans looked, as Covenant Remnant troops fired plasma weapons into UN Troops, as UNSC, or now, USSC Troops easily bisected covvie remnants.
Hours later, the final UN Troops, with a massive amount of reinforcements started to push back into the GATE to the other side.
Back on the other side of the gate, Only twenty Remnant cruisers remained.
Two plasma torpedoes slammed into a USSC Corvette, splattering on the hardlight screens. As a plasma lance slammed into the ship, finally piercing through the hardlight screens.
In the small USSC City on Faragut, a final loyalist phantom attempted to crash into the central building, but hardlight and plasma lit up the sky, melting the phantom, as the wreckage splattered harmlessly on the Colonial planetary shields.
A single cruiser tried to fire a glassing beam, yet, Federation AND Ancient human hardlight and slipspace shielding systems clicked into action, easily blocking the shot.
At Alnus base camp, the old UN troops and ODST's finished evacuating through the gate, being completely outnumbered by the tens of thousands of brutes and kig-yar.
USSC Cruisers descended into the atmosphere, as phantoms felt everywhere, dropping remnant forces.
On the other side of the GATE, UN troops merely watched, as ODST's, mostly human and Sangheili with some Unggoy stuffed between fired upon the crowds of brutes, JSDF and American helicopters fired their guns.
A fuel rod flew through the sky, slamming into a UN Helicopter, as a USSC Scarab stomped in between, crushing brutes, and spewing out weapons fire.
That's when the stream of brutes ended, and came USSC Reinforcements.
USSC UCAV's literally flew through the gate, strafing all the way across, as SPARTAN's ripped through the remnant ranks.
Soon, the battle ended, as USSC Troops went back through the GATE.
A Month Later
A UN and an Empire represenative, Ambassador Kōji Sugawara and Princess Pina awaited at the Faragut Colony Spaceport.
Soon, they boarded a C-921 Strider Courier Aircraft.
They watched in wonder, as the spacecraft lifted off, and engaged thrusters.
The aircraft slowly slid through the hangar atmospheric shields of the frigate USSC. Emissary, an Ambassador-class Diplomatic Frigate.
Princess Pina was the most shocked. " Iron fortresses amongst the stars… What…"
The courier aircraft slowly touched down,
The guests were first guided to their quarters, then they were guided to the observation desk.
They looked, as the ship slightly jolted, as a massive blue disk opened in front of the ship, as the ship slid in.
They were shocked,
Merely several hours later, the ship slid from slipspace.
In front of them was a massive station. It was a massive pillar, with two rings wrapped around it. On top, was a huge globe, as large as a planet.
USF Ambassador, Cerina Lawson saw their reaction, and smirked.
" Welcome to Unity Station, the capital of the United Species Federation."
Around the massive station, massive USSC Ships floated lazily.
The Emissary floated in, and below them, vibrant cities held billions of people, as aliens and humans worked together.
This, is what the United Species Federation protects and ensures.
