Chapter: Seven
Sirius POV
When I woke up this morning I turned over to my side to see Hermione still sleeping while hugging her teddy bear close to herself and I couldn't help but smile at how peaceful she looks right now. I didn't want to wake her up from her peaceful sleep just yet so I carefully and quietly got out of bed and I looked around the room to see everyone else still sleeping. So I made my way over to the washroom to get a quick shower in and to get dressed for the day and after about 20 minutes I walked back out to see Mooney sitting on my bed with Hermione as she was rubbing her eyes and yawning.
" Hey there little Mia... Did you just wake up? " I gently ask as I started making my way over to my bed
" Yeah " Hermione mumbled with a little yawn and while still rubbing her little eyes
" I saw Hermione wake up about a couple of minutes ago and when I didn't see you around I figured you were in the washroom getting ready so I thought she would feel a little more comfortable with having someone sit with her until you got back " Moony quietly explained
" Thanks Moony "
" It's no problem Padfoot " Moony said with a small smile and with a quick goodbye towards Hermione he got up from the bed and made his way over to his side of the room and started to get ready for the day.
" Well my little Mia why don't we get you ready and we can get some breakfast... How does that sound? " I gently say/ ask while also pulling the blanket fully off of her
" I would really like that Siri " Hermione mumbled with a very sleepy voice while she was still rubbing her little eyes
" Lets go little Mia " I softly mumbled and when Hermione lifted her little arms up I picked up the bag that held all of her clothes and washing things before turning around to let Moony, Prongs and Wormtail know that we'll be using the washroom to get Hermione ready for the day, and when I got the confirmation that it was okay I made way over to the washroom; Once I was finished getting Hermione dressed and ready for the day we both walked out of the washroom and when I went over to my bed to grab my book bag. Hermione happily ran over to where Moony is to ask if he was coming down to the great hall with us for breakfast and like every time she asks he always says yes... I don't think I've seen him say no to her yet.
" Who's ready for some breakfast? I know I am! " I ask once I got everything I needed and started walking over to Moony's side of the room
" I am... I am " Hermione excited said with a big smile on her little face and waving her hands in the air
" Yes I am too! " Moony says with a small smile while looking at the excited five year old
" What about everyone else? " I asked everyone else as I walked up to Hermione and picked her up
Prongs slightly shrugged his shoulders " Yeah... I can eat something " He said while also picking up his book bag and when I didn't hear anything from Wormtail I turned around and saw him nodding his head while he was focusing on putting a book in his bag. When I knew I had everything I needed and Hermione was secured in my arms I walked out of our dorm room then through the common room and down to the great hall.
Prongs and I were sitting in Transfiguration listening to what Minnie had to say and taking notes here and there while we were mostly whispering about our newest prank. The only thing we need to do for this prank to be on it way is for one of us to bring the potion down to Winky in the kitchens tonight so she can put it in the food. I already know I won't be able to go down to there because I need to watch Hermione and I never feel comfortable leaving her with anyone especially at night.
" Hey Padfoot? " Prongs leaned over and whispered with a lot of worry in his voice and when ever he used that tone it always puts me on edge
" What is it? Prongs what's wrong? " I whispered back wanting to know what was wrong
" Isn't that Hermione over there? " Prongs whispered while slightly pointing over to the open doors in the back of the room and I got extremely confused as to how he was even able to see her when Hermione is suppose to be with Dumbledore and not wondering through the halls. So when I quickly turned around I was beyond incredibly shocked to see Hermione slowly walk past the door while looking around and holding her teddy bear really closer to herself like it was her life line, but the thing that made my heart drop to my stomach was the terrified and lost look also the tears streaming down her little face.
" Yeah that's her... " I whispered back and with out another thought to what anyone thought or the consequences of what I'm about to do I got up from my chair and ran towards the door and before I fully left the room McGonagall yelled at me to come back and take my seat but I just ignored her and focused on why my baby sister is walking the hall by herself. " Mia! " I softly said so I didn't scare her and when she turned around my heart broke all over again
" S-Siri " Hermione brokenly said with some more tears running down her little face and when started running to me I kneeled down and when she got close enough to me I scooped her up
" What are you doing walking through the halls by yourself? Where's Dumbledore Mia? " I softly ask while rubbing small circles on her little back and slightly bouncing her up and down so she can calm down a little
" said h-he had something to do and w-we were walking and I saw something sh-shiny and... And I got lost and I co-couldn't f-find Mr. D-Dumble again and and I was really scared " Hermione said while crying and the time she finished explaining what happened she was hugging me and her teddy bear tightly
" It's gonna be okay... I got you now... You gonna be okay " I softly say trying to let her know she's not alone anymore
" Sirius Black that 50 points for - " I heard McGonagall angerly saying before she cut herself off and I was confused as to why she stopped talking so I turned around and saw her looking very confused while also looking at a crying Hermione
" Sorry for running out of class like that Minnie... James said he saw Hermione here... Walking in the hall way and when I saw her looking really scared I had to know if she was okay and I had to know if Dumbledore was with her... " I explained why I ran out the room so quickly and why I also basically ignored her and after a couple of minutes of McGonagall just staring at Hermione I was starting to get nervous
" I'll let Head Master Dumbledore know where Miss Black is and seeing as she is no condition to left alone... And since we're only taking notes Miss Black can sit with you until the end of class but I will only allow this once time Mr. Black " McGonagall said before taking a deep breath " Go in and take a seat and I'll send a quick Patronus to Head Master Dumbledore " McGonagall added
" Thank you Minnie... Can you say thank you to the nice Professor Mia? " I say to McGonagall with a quick nod and I ask the last part in a softer whisper while I bounced Hermione up and down a little to try and make her a little more comfortable
" T-Thank Yo-You " Hermione very softly whispered while trying to make herself seem small in my arms and I know when ever she gets scared and shy the only things that will help get Hermione back to her happy self is either her teddy bear or hug from father, Regulus or me
" Your very welcome Miss Black... Mr. Black " McGonagall said with a small smile towards Hermione and with one last nod I walked past McGonagall and back into the Transfiguration class and when I started walking down the aisle to my seat I started hearing whispering coming around the room and some where even pointing at us so I tightened my hold on Hermione when she started shaking again.
" I thought Dumbledore said Hermione wasn't allowed to sit in any of out lessons? " Prongs quietly asked with a lot of confusion
" We're only taking notes and the day is almost over so Minnie is letting Mia stay with me just this once... " I whispered while getting Hermione a little more comfortable by having her sit on my lap " But I kinda think Minnie's making this an exception because of how scared Mia was in the hall " I added with a small shrug
" S-She was a ve-very nice lady! " Hermione quietly mumbled while playing with her little fingers
" That she is " Prongs whispered with a small smile and I was about to say something else when McGonagall walked back into the room and made her way to front of the class to start the lesson back up again.
