The lava creatures began to inch closer to Elora as they started to surround her. This was all her fault! The lava creatures were here because of her! And now everyone was in danger because of her! She needed to get them both out of the village quickly before these creatures cause any more devastation.
Elora reached behind her only to feel the air. Her eyes widen realizing that she didn't have her staff.
"You gotta be kidding me!" Elora hissed.
A lava creature let out a low growl and lunged at her. Elora quickly flipped back from the creature's grasp landing on top of a haystack pile. She needed her staff if she was going to fight! Where was that kid? Elora scanned around the screaming and scrambling crowd trying to find Calista. Goodwin, Cedric, Winifred, Lucinda and her mother, and Cordelia were trying to hold back the lava monsters as they casted spells on them, while Roland soldiers tried to hold them back as they tried to get the villagers and the royal family to safety. Sofia and James slipped through the crowd while Roland and Miranda were distracted.
"Sofia! James! Come back! It's too dangerous!" Amber cried out to her brother and sister, worried.
"Sofia!" Miranda screamed out to her daughter.
"James!" Roland called out to James trying to get them to come back. Sofia ran over to Cedric, helping him up.
"Mr. Cedric, what are we going to do? Those monsters are going to destroy the entire village if we don't do something quick!"
"Posiden's pumpkins! None of our spells seem to have any effect on these creatures. They just keep growing back!" Goodwin shouted, frustrated. He fired a spell at a lava creature in its arm, which only regrew a new one in place of the one it lost.
"Where's Calista!?" Cordelia exclaimed, seeing her daughter was not with Sofia.
"We got separated in the crowd! Where's Elora?" Sofia cried out.
"I thought she was with you!" Cedric said, confused.
"I'll go check!" Lucinda shouted. She quickly hopped onto her broom and flew up into the air to look "I see them!" She pointed out. The two lava creatures suddenly stopped attacking then went in the direction where Lucinda saw Elora and Calista.
"Oh no! We need to hurry!" Sofia shouted.
Elora narrowed her eyes as she continued to search for Calista until she spotted the little girl, with her staff, surround by two lava monsters. The lava creature below her started to ignite the haystack pile, setting it a blaze. Elora quickly hopped off the pile, landing behind the monster and rushed over towards Calista. She gasped the lava monster behind her started to follow her as it slithered on the ground then quickly appeared in front of Elora, blocking her path. Elora quickly dipped low and slid on the ground as the monster swung at her with its fiery fist, slipping past the lava creature. She quickly headed towards the other two lava creatures that were surrounding Calista and jumped onto the stands and quickly leaped off of them. She grabbed Calista and rolled on the ground out of the way before the two monsters tried to grab her.
Elora quickly took her staff back from Calista and ran with the little sorceress tucked in her other arm, screaming, as the three lava creatures chased them. Elora passed by a house with several barrels sitting beside it. She used her staff to fly the barrels at the three creatures. One barrel hit one of the lava monsters, making it furious. While the other two mowed over the rest.
"You just made them angry!" Calista shouted.
"Yeah, I know!" Elora shouted as she continued to run. She needed to lose the kid and lead the lava creatures away from the village so no one would get caught in the crossfire or cause any more damage. Wait, the river! She could use it to get rid of the creatures once and for all!
"Okay, time for some pay back." Elora smirked and looked down at Calista. "Okay, kid. What I'm about to do, don't get scared." Calista looked at her confused.
"Don't get scared of what-" Calista screamed when Elora tossed her away from her. Elora quickly moved her staff to create an ice path and a slide and Calista slid down it as Elora ran leading the creatures away from the village. "Over here, boys!"
Sofia, James, Cedric, his parents and his sister ran until they saw Calista sliding over to them. "Calista!' Cordelia ran over and picked her up, hugging her. "Thank goodness, you're okay!"
"Mummy, the elf lady is in trouble! We have to help her!"
"Calista, where's Elora now?" Cedric asked her. Cordelia set her daughter down and Calista grabbed Cedric's hand pulling him along with her, leading the group to the river, where Elora was. "Come on! She's at the river!"
Elora saw the river just ahead of her as the three creatures followed behind her. But up ahead, two lava creatures appeared in front of her. That's all of them! Elora quickly spun her staff around as she ran then leaped at one of the lava creatures in front of her. Her staff connected with the monster's body, cleaving it in half as she jumped through it. Elora landed on the ground and quickly spun around, seeing the lava monster starting to put itself back together again as well as the other four. Elora hissed in pain and looked down to see that her right arm was burnt. The lava had burnt through the sleeve her shirt and her skin were starting to turn red and blister. The five lava creatures slowly began to inch closer and closer toward her.
"Time to finish this." She growled and raised her staff and started to wave her arms around in a circle in the air. The water from the river rose up and floated towards her, following in the same motion, gathering more and more, as she moved her arms. Cedric, Sofia and the rest of the group arrived by the river to see what was happening as well as King Roland and Miranda and Amber. Several soldiers and villagers were watching as well. Elora's eyes glowed white, the red jewel on her staff glowed as well and she pointed it towards the five lava monsters. The water rushed directly at them engulfing the monsters in it. The water steamed and popped, creating a misty smoke as it made contact with the creatures, dissolving and destroying them. Some of the water rained down on the fires on some of the roofs of the houses and the festival putting them out as well.
Elora's vision began to get blurry as she got dizzy and covered her mouth. She over did it. She felt like she was going to puke. Elora felt her legs starting to feel weaker and she feel to her knees on the ground. She used her staff to support herself to keep herself upright.
"Elora! Are you okay?!" Sofia shouted, running over towards her, Cedric followed behind her as they ran over to her. Cedric was amazed as well as speechless by Elora's magical power. She was stunning, amazing! And really strong! Stronger than any witch or sorcerer that he has ever came across in his life. Maybe even stronger than Merlin himself!
"Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. I didn't think that would actually work!" Elora gasped. The villagers cheered for Elora in celebration glad to see that the lava creatures were destroyed. "This is definitely a festival I think that no one's is going to forget. I guess I'm going to have to take a rain check that dance."
"Dance?" Cedric questioned.
"You did it! The lava monsters are gone!" Sofia smiled.
"How did you know how to get rid of them?" Cedric asked her, wondering himself.
"They were after me." Elora explained to the two of them. Sofia and Cedric blinked in surprise.
"Why were they after you?" Sofia frowned.
"They were the reason why I have no memory of who I was. These were the same creatures that caused my accident. I fell off from a cliff and hit my head when a went into the river. That's how I ended up in Enchancia." Elora sighed as she explained her story to Sofia and Cedric. "There was someone else there as well. But I couldn't make it out who it was."
"Then this person is after you? But why?" Cedric asked her. Elora shook her head.
"I don't know. Probably trying to get rid of me or kill me or something. There was also a name I remembered when I saw these creatures. I think its where they came from. It's probably where I from as well." She told him. Both Cedric and Sofia's eyes widened in shock.
"You remembered something? What is it?!" Sofia asked her.
"Does the name Aelerus sound familiar around here?" Elora asked them. Both Cedric and Sofia shook their heads.
"No. I've never heard of it before." Cedric said.
"Maybe, it's a new place that's never been discovered before." Sofia replied. "Maybe we can find it in the library or some records in the castle about it." she suggested.
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!" Elora tried to pull herself back up with her staff, but fell back on her knees, getting dizzy again when she tried to get up.
"Right now, you need to rest. Cedric and I can go look for you. I'll even get my dad to help ask around as well." Sofia told her.
"I'm not that helpless. I think that I can manage." Elora groaned.
"It's not going to do you any good being stubborn. It's okay to ask for help every once in a while. Trust me, I know how you feel." Cedric said to her before glancing at Sofia, who smiled back at him. He owed her more than he could ever give her. He was in her debt for being in his life and he was grateful for that. Cedric rolled his eyes, shaking his head and looked back at Elora.
"Just let us take care of it." Cedric said to Elora. Elora stared at him for a moment before she spoke and took Cedric's hand and he help her up.
"Okay."
