Mia's POV

I brought my fish back to camp and set up an adequate place to clean and skin it. Once done, I put the fish into a plastic bag I had brought, sealed it, and put it in the river with a rock on top to keep it cool until I wanted to cook it.

I put my clothes back on making sure to put my shoelaces back and grabbing my paracord this time. I fed the fire the last of the wood I collected earlier and went to find some more. The sun had started it's decent and I guessed I had only another hour or two of sunlight.

I walked for a bit searching for downed trees as they were likely to burn better. I found a few small trees down about a quarter mile away from camp. I cut them in half with my machete and tied them up. Hauling them onto my back I whistled the work song from Snow White.

Once back at camp I set the wood down and grabbed the fish and a stick. "It's just like roasting marshmallows!" I giggled to myself. I checked on it frequently since I've never cooked fish this way. When finished, I ate it and was surprised that I liked the way it tased without all the seasonings I normally use.

By this time, the sun was truly setting I grabbed my phone and went back to the beach. I snapped some extremely gorgeous shots of the sunset! Then I went back to camp and got into my bed glad that my bug nets roof didn't block the sight of the stars as they started to light the sky.

"It's so different to see the sky when there's no cities or towns nearby." I thought of a few songs I could sing but a favorite popped into my head.

"Well, I've heard there was a secret chord.

That David played and it pleased the Lord
But you don't really care for music, do you?
Well it goes like this: The fourth, the fifth,

The minor fall and the major lift.
The baffled king composing Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah

Well your faith was strong but you needed proof
You saw her bathing on the roof
Her beauty and the moonlight overthrew ya
She tied you to her kitchen chair
And she broke your throne and she cut your hair
And from your lips she drew the Hallelujah

Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah
Hallelujah"

I didn't finish the song as I started giggling again. That song always made me think of Shrek. I gazed into the night sky and slowly drifted to sleep.

N'ritja's POV

I was at my camp mulling over the options I had. I couldn't simply kill her as it would be dishonorable since she seemed weak prey at best. I couldn't pack up and leave either with my ship the way it was. I decided I would avoid her. I set up a silent perimeter alarm that would warn me if any oomans should pass them. Then I set up a cloak around my camp so she wouldn't be able to see it.

I growled at all the trouble I had to go through due to one ooman female. I sharpened a few of my blades and went to hunt up some food. I caught a huge fish the oomans call a shark with my ki'cti-pa (spear), and a boar that lived deep in the forest of the island.

I hung up my prey, skinned, and cleaned the bones. I would keep the shark skull since it was impressive. I decided to make a necklace from the tusks of the boar. After I ate and stored the rest of the meat, I went back to the oomans side of the island to see what she was doing.

I saw her lying in her makeshift bed. I heard her breathing steadily, she was already asleep. I went to get a closer look. Standing within striking distance I looked at her through her poor defense that only worked to keep out tiny zabins (insects). It would be so easy to end her. Then I wouldn't have to be so careful while I fixed my ship… but no there would be no honor in killing her especially while she slept.

Mia's POV

I heard a growl, low and deep. The sound dragged me out of sleep. It sounded like a really big animal. I kept my breathing even and cracked my eyes just enough to make out what was there but not enough to alert it to me being awake.

Crouching next to me was a humanoid shape, but I couldn't make out any details though my eyelashes. I wondered if it was a fisherman, the guide had said they may come to the island to sleep.

"Hello…" I mumbled sleepily. "If you need a place to sleep you can bed down by the fire." I offered, then I turned onto my stomach and promptly fell back asleep.

N'ritja's POV

"Pauk-de Cjit! (Fucking shit)" I hissed under my breath when the ooman addressed me. Then she fell back asleep. I cocked my head at her in curiosity and translated the words she said. She offered me a resting place by her r'ka (fire). She truly was a Hulij-bpe lou-dte kale (crazy human child bearer). My mandibles made rapid clicking sounds as I trilled in amusement. I tried stifling my laughter lest I wake her once more.

She must not have realized that I wasn't human. After all, oomans have bad night vision. I wondered what she would say if she knew she just invited a Yautja sain'ja (warrior) to her camp. Knowing oomans, she would probably scream at first sight of me. My bearer always warned me the my curiosity was dangerous, but what could one little ooman do on a remote island.

I smirked and decided that if she wanted some company, I would generously accommodate her. Sitting down by the r'ka, I stretched out and rested. I wasn't asleep and was ready to react at a moment's notice.
