Author's Note: Hey guys! i am so so sorry about how long it has taken me to post this! I have been crazy busy with my college work. I hope this chapter will make up for it. Again I'm truly sorry! I have like another month worth of classes left till summer and then i know i will be able to write more. So please bare with me. I will try and update faster. Plus when i wrap this story up, i'm thinking about doing one-shot series or even a jelsa series. (for some reason jack and elsa, rise of the guardians and frozen crossover, i am really fond of. And i have read a lot of talented writers stories on fan fiction that are really awesome. So if i decide to do either of those i would definitely be taking requests (especially for the one shots). It would def help me get a basic idea and really let me get creative. Okay so back to this chapter! Read and enjoy! reviews are always great! Thank you all for still reading and not giving up on me! We all know what it's like to be super busy with school and such. thanks for understanding :)

Also I got reviews saying that chapter format, got messed up. it was okay when i published it, but now checking it again i see what happened. So here it is all fixed!

Chapter 7:

Pitch stormed through his lair. His anger scaring off his fearlings that tried to approach him. How could he have let the guardians take away Jack?! He didn't expect them to come so fast. And now he was injured. He needed more power. He needed fear. He needed his revenge. This wasn't over. He needed…Frost. Pitch started laughing. A plan forming in his mind. One that would not only give him strength but continue is revenge on the Guardians. He called one of his fearlings forward. As the horses made of nightmare sand approached, he morphed them into a different shape. He gave them his orders. They knew what to do. He sent them off.

While they were waiting North had returned with ice and was relieved to see that Jack was awake. And was insisting that Jack should continue to rest but Jack refused. He needed to tell them. Jack was exhausted and truthfully did want to just sleep off all the pain, but he knew he couldn't. He had to at least start explaining. Though part the part of him that was used to the loneliness was warning him not to. That they don't really care and if they do it will probably not last very long.

"Bunny, can I have my staff?" asked Jack, remembering that he needed to fix it.

"Yeah, sure mate," Bunny hopped to the closet, retrieving the broken pieces that made up Jack's staff.

Bunny held out the two pieces. Jack winced. Remembering the awful moment of realizing what Pitch was about to do and the pain that went with it. He thought he would never have to go through that feeling again. When he fixed it the first time after Pitch broke it, he promised himself that he would never let anyone do that to him again. The pain was unbearable and he was afraid he wouldn't be able to fix it again. Guess that plan backfired. He just hoped that he would be strong enough to fix it now.

"Ya sure ya can fix it, Frostbite?" asked Bunny softly.

"Yeah," said Jack hesitantly reaching out for it, "Course I can."

He took hold of the two pieces, feeling slightly better to have it in his grasp. He placed the two broken ends together, like he did in Antarctica.

Focus.

And like in Antarctica the pieces slipped from each other, still broken.

"Jack maybe you should-," started Bunny.

"No. I can do this. Same thing happened last time. I just need to focus harder."

"Last time?" asked North, who was sitting on a chair at the end of Jack's bed, watching the young spirit carefully.

Jack ignored him. He already told Bunny he would explain. What he needed to do now was focus. He put the pieces together again. Focusing all his energy on his powers. Willing his powers to surge through him. But all he was feeling was pain. Any energy he had when he woke up was disappearing again. He could feel himself slipping away…

"Frostbite!" yelled Bunny, snatching the staff pieces from Jack's hands.

Jack fell back, against the pillows that propped him up. His breathing heavy.

"What…did…you…do…that…for…kangaroo?" he asked in between breaths.

"Your…uhm. It clearly wasn't working frostbite. Ya looked like ya were about to hurt yourself."

"I'm fine," said Jack, still trying to catch his breath.

"You are not fine, Jack," said North, "You clearly need to rest. The staff can wait."

Jack placed is hand palm up in front of him. He usually can make snowballs with his hand but he always had his staff with him. Could it being broken mean that his connection to his powers is broken? He willed himself to make something, anything.

He could feel a rush of cold making his way to his hand, but he was still to weak to make anything. His hand dropped in his lap, defeated.

"Jack, stop trying to use your powers," said North, "You are only going to make yourself weaker. You need to give yourself a chance to at least heal a bit first."

North echoed the words that Jack heard Manny say in his dream. He wasn't strong enough to use his powers yet, and until he was healed he wouldn't be able to use his powers. Which really scared him. He never felt more vulnerable and exposed. How could he protect himself?

"Jack, why don't ya rest a bit? Just until Sandy and Tooth get here. Then you can talk. I promise to wake ya up," suggested Bunny.

Jack thought about it for a moment and then decided he was probably right. He was even more tired now after trying to fix his staff. He needed to at least have some energy to talk.

"Fine. But you better wake me up," said Jack.

"I will. I want to hear what you want to tell us," replied Bunny.

Jack laid back down and within the next minute he was sound asleep.

"Bunny what did you see when Jack was trying to fix staff?" asked North after a moment, "Why did you stop him?"

"Because the light in his eyes looked like they were about to go out again," replied Bunny softly.

North looked at him, confused.

"When Pitch broke his staff, I looked back at Jack because I heard him yell 'no'. I didn't understand at first. But the second I heard the snap, Jack's eyes went dark and he passed out. I thought he was dead North. And seeing him right now, trying to use his powers, it almost killed him. He's not strong enough yet. We need to protect him."

North nodded, thoughtfully, "Do you think Pitch will come back for him?"

"I'm not sure. We seemed to have injured him a bit. That should slow him down. Why do you think he wants Jack so bad?"

"Before Jack, we weren't so close. Jack has brought us all together. We are a closer family now. Which is something Jack needs. We left him alone for too long. And though there is no changing the past, we need to be here for him now. We all care about him. That may be why Pitch wants him. He knows what Jack means to us."

"Plus, the kid powerful. And by one of the comments Pitch made, it would seem that Pitch was trying to recruit him," added Bunnymund.

"Why not tell us though?"

"Jack seems to have a lot of secrets mate, but to be honest I don't blame him. He's used to keeping things to himself. He's never had to share. I'm surprised he wants to even tells us anything now."

"Maybe he is starting to trust us and believe that we aren't going to abandon him."

"I hope. Though would you trust us after being alone for 300 years?" asked Bunny.

North opened his mouth, but then slowly closed it.

"That's what I thought. It's not going to be easy, but I'm going to spend the rest of my life doing whatever I can to make up for my past mistakes."

"You are not alone, old friend. We will all be here as well," said North, placing his hand on Bunny's shoulder.

Suddenly, Tooth and Sandy burst through the door.

"Jack!" Tooth yelled.

"SHHHH!" hushed Bunny and North to Tooth.

She covered her hands over her mouth. She then looked at Jack and realized he was sleeping. She lowered her hands from her mouth.

"How is he?" she whispered.

"Weak. He can't summon his powers right now. And is body is definitely damaged. He may try to say he's fine, but he's not," said Bunny.

Sandy displayed a picture of Pitch above his head. Then a question mark.

"No Sandy. We haven't heard from Pitch and he hasn't seemed to have any nightmares either yet," answered North.

Sandy sighed. He then conjured up a dream sand ball. He wanted to make sure Jack would sleep easily.

"No, Sandy. I know you want to make sure he's safe but he wants to talk to us first. I promised we would wake him up. After, you can give him the dreamsand," said Bunny.

"He doesn't have to talk to us now Bunny! It can wait. He needs to rest," said Tooth, looking down at Jack's sleeping form.

"I'm sorry Tooth, but I promised him. I don't want to break my promise. He won't like it and I don't to give him any reason not to trust us. He wants to share something with us for the first time. We can't mess that up," said Bunny.

Tooth opened her mouth to argue, but North cut her off.

"I agree with Bunny. Tooth let Jack talk to us. We will then give him time to rest. Let him at least say what he wants to say first."

She sighed, "Fine."

Bunny lightly tapped Jack's shoulder, "Hey Frostbite. I'm sorry but you need to wake up."

Jack's eyes slowly fluttered open. Widening as he took in his surroundings.

"Tooth, Sandy. Hey. When did you guys get here?" he asked, trying to sit up.

Bunny quickly helped him. Jack let out a soft groan. His body still ached but he didn't want them to see how much he was hurting. Especially Tooth. She may not be able to see him so injured.

"Only a few moments ago. How are you feeling Jack?" said Tooth.

"I'm fine Tooth. You don't need to worry," he replied, though he knew she wouldn't believe him especially when you looked at him, "Besides I wanted to talk to you guys."

"What is it that you wanted to talk to us about?" asked Tooth.

"I know Bunny had questions, so what is it exactly you guys want to know?" Jack replied.

"Pitch made comments while we were fighting him on the lake. Something about Antarctica?" said Tooth.

"And there was something about death and the lake," added North.

"And your staff mate," said Bunny, "What did you mean by having to fix it again?"

Jack sighed. His friends didn't miss a thing. All the questions Jack wanted to avoid were asked.

"Jack are you sure you're up for this?" asked Tooth, "We don't have to talk about it."

"No, you guys deserve to know," said Jack.

He took a deep breath.

"It started at Easter. When Pitch came back and you guys asked me to help. Except at that point I had already made a mess of things. You guys were mad, I didn't know where to go so I went to the place I always went when I needed to hide and be alone. Antarctica."

Jack looked up. Sandy had a mad face over his head followed by question mark over his head.

"It was after you were uhm… gone Sandy. I went to bring Sophie home after we came to Bunny's warren. I was suppose to come right back incase Pitch's fearlings came back. But I started hearing something and ended up in Pitch's lair. He distracted me. Told me all my fears. The time I got out, I realized that not only I lost Baby Tooth but I was in the warren with a bunch of broken eggs. I found the rest of you guys but it was too late. I ruined Easter. I tried to explain but you guys were mad. Which I get."

Sandy shot his fellow guardians an angry look. They looked down in shame and guilt.

"Jack, we shouldn't have blown up at you like that. We should have heard you out," said North.

"Especially me mate," said Bunny.

"And we didn't even properly apologize. You even came back for us!" added Tooth.

"We are sorry Frostbite."

Jack shook his head, "You don't need to apologize. I deserved it. But please let me continue."

They looked like they wanted to argue with him, but Jack kept talking. He didn't want to hear it. He didn't want them to feel bad.

"So I was in Antarctica, about to throw my memory box away-,"

"You what!?" interrupted Tooth.

Sandy gave her a look and she shut up.

"But Pitch came up behind me. Tried to convince me that he knew you would abandon me. That he was the only one who understood. He wanted me to join him. I'm ashamed to say that there was a moment I thought about it. He was like me in some ways. Both alone. But there was one big difference. I didn't want to be feared. Which was exactly what would have happened if I joined him."

The Guardians stared at Jack awe-struck. Surprised at how wise and pure their youngest guardian was. All Jack wanted was to be seen but he wanted it to be because the kids loved him not because they feared him.

"Well Pitch didn't like my rejection very much. I told him to leave me alone. He had other ideas. He had Baby Tooth. Threatened to kill her if I didn't give him my staff. He didn't want me to get in the way. I gave it to him. But he betrayed me. Baby Tooth was fast though she stabbed him with her beak, which resulted in him throwing her. And before I could react he snapped my staff in half and through me into the ravine."

"Jack, why didn't you tell us this happened!" asked Tooth.

"Well I got myself out, didn't I?" snapped Jack.

"Yes but-,"

"Tooth, let him finish," said Bunny. He had the most serious expression she had ever seen him with, shutting her up immediately.

"I just sat there, thinking how Pitch was right. I make a mess of everything. Then Baby Tooth took out my memory box that was in my pocket and told me to open it." Jack smiled remembering the memories he got back after 300 years.

"I got my memories back," Jack continued, "I found out I had a sister, a family. I learned how I became Jack Frost and why. Then I grabbed my staff. I tried to put it together but it broke right after. I tried again. I put all my energy into it. Soon it started to glow and it was fixed. That's when I flew back to Pitch's lair to free the tooth fairies, but they couldn't fly. I then went to find Jamie, the last believer."

"You have had your memories back the whole time and didn't tell us?" said North, "Jack, that is great news!"

"You guys didn't ask, so I didn't tell," shrugged Jack.

"You missed a question Frostbite," said Bunnymund.

Jack looked back at Bunny, knowing full well what he avoided.

"Something about death and the lake," Bunnymund continued.

Jack sighed, "That has to do with my memories."

"What do you mean?" asked Tooth.

"My memories all came back. Including the last day of my life as Jackson Overland Frost."

Sandy had a question mark over his head.

Jack opened his mouth to answer but suddenly the entire workshop shook.

"What the bloody hell was that!?" yelled Bunny, standing up and pulling out his boomerangs.

"I don't know! Phil!" yelled North.

The yeti burst through the door. Again the building shook, throwing everyone off balance.

"What is going on Phil?" asked North, drawing his twin swords.

The yeti stared garbling back noises at North, his arms failing as he explained.

"What is he saying North?" asked Bunny.

"Fearlings. The are attacking the North Pole."
