A/N: I must that this story is halfway finished! I honestly wait to write the next few chapters, although the mature content will increase significantly. Also, I had a few ideas for some Teacher/student romance stories, but those will be much later in the year. Anywho, this is the chapter you all have been waiting for...the GRADUATION!
...I'll shut up now. ENJOy!
Sitting uncomfortable in the cheap, metal chair was none other than a proud Lars.
This day had finally arrived, the day in which he would finally graduate from college and receive his degree.
The twenty-three year old was beyond elated when he received the phone call from the admissions adviser. The gentleman informed Lars that he had would meet at the campus auditorium in order to rehearse the ceremonial walk.
Lars continued to fidget in the uncomfortable chair as his mind continued to recount the memories of his hard work. 'Man, four years of switching majors, dealing with a bad break up, and catching an STD has finally paid off.' A sad smile appeared on the man's lips once his last thought left his mind.
While some middle-aged, Asian male, who Lars never seen before and probably never would after tonight, spoke his cliche success for the future speech. Lars continued to think about the bittersweet emotion he felt at the moment. Here he was, sitting on stage waiting to graduate and yet he had not a friend in the world. Sure, Lars had a few guy friends to hang out with, but none that he was really close to. The only people he had been close two over the course of four years was his ex, Miyuki, who failed her two out of her four finals, and Alissa.
'Alissa...' It pained Lars to conjure up her name. The last time Lars spoke to Alissa was about three weeks ago. Three weeks ago, on that horrible night when he and his newly established friend/crush fought.
To this day, the youth was still a bit aloof as to what Alissa was really mad about. He still could not comprehend a woman of her caliber getting angry at him over sex. She seemed smarter than that...or so he thought.
"..and now with no further a due, will all the soon to be graduates stand?" Lars's ears perked up to the sound of the older Asian stranger speaking the all to familiar sentence that was spoken countless times during rehearsal.
Along with the rest of the strangers of his graduating class, Lars stood up and turned to the left, facing the backstage portion of the stage. The first row of students, which was the row Lars stood in, quickly paced themselves to the back of the stage.
The moment of receiving his degree was mere minutes away. Lars could not wait to hold his placard that would show his name in golden ink along with the degree he would soon hold in between his hands.
As soon as the first name was called, Lars could hear multiple students chatter among one another. The tone in their voices reflected that of excitement as well as disappointment since their journey in school would soon be over. He, on the other hand, could not wait to finish and get on with his life. He would finally have a career as a Lab technician, working for the Mishima Zaibatsu's Laboratory research and development department.
"Rars...Al-rikssandasan?" A heavy sigh flew from Lars's parted lips after his heard the older male destroy the pronunciation of his name.
The blond quickly sprinted onto the stage. The moment he stepped out he could hear boisterous cheers and screams from the crowd. No doubt that it was his overly zealous family cheering for his success. As he walked closer to the stranger, extend his right hand, that was cloaked in the baby blue hued grown, towards the man. The man shook hand and the two paused to take a picture. The man handed Lars his black placard. He eagerly accepted the placard and dashed to his seat.
The moment he sat down, he lifted the top of the placard and read the gold printed words. The top row read his name followed by a small sentence stating that he, Lars Alexssanderson, had received his bachelor's degree in Laboratory Technological Science.
'It's finally over. I graduated.' Lars teared up a bit from the thought. He was so thrilled to be done with his degree. It was just a shame that he could not think a certain person who was responsible for this semester.
"Alissa Boscon-na-bitch!" Lars removed his gaze from the words and onto the person walking across the stage. Although, the man had yet again butchered another foreign name, Lars know who was walking across the stage at this very moment.
The magenta haired woman walked about the stage with a graceful walk. Lars noticed how the cheers for the woman seemed endless in comparison to anyone else thus far.
The man could not help by observe how well Alissa looked in her baby blue grown. She looked dazzling as always, but her face held a rather painted smile that seemed fake, almost.
After the picture was taken, Lars quickly shifted his eyes away from the stage and back on the his placard.
A frustrated thought popped into Lars's mind after shying away from his former friend. 'I wish this ceremony was over already.'
After two and half grueling hours of name calling, crowd cheering, and picture taking, the ceremony had finally ended.
The moment graduated he with his class of this particular year. Lars rushed off the stage and bumped through the crowds.
It was time to go and get the hell out of here before he ran into..well ALISSA!
'I should just text one of them.' Lars thought of quick solution to find his family. His left hand was about to reach in his left pocket until he felt someone pull him into a choke hole.
Lars looked up at the clean shaven chin his second oldest brother, Lee Chaolan.
"Congrats, bro!" Te silver haired sibling said in a very cheerful tone before he release a captured Lars.
Lars flashed a smile in return as the rest of his family caught up to him.
"Thanks, Lee. I been looking forward to this day for awhile now."
"So have I!" The blond's sentence was soon followed by none other than his elder brother, Kazuya Mishma. The oldest male, along with Jun, who was now showing more obvious signs of being pregnant, Jin, Asuka, and Steve, who chatter among each other, circled the fresh graduate.
The whole family matched with a simple attire of blue shirts of dresses, which matched with his grown, and black slacks, shoes, and heels.
Jun approached Lars and pulled him into a tight hug. "I am so proud of you!" She exclaimed in his ear.
"Thank you, Auntie." Lars said as he pulled away from her embrace.
Kazuya rushed over to Lars and pulled Lars into a bear hug. Lars felt his hair being ruffled by his brother's hands.
"I never thought this day would ever come! Thank God! I was getting so tired of paying for your tuition, clothes, food.." Lars managed to wiggle free from Kazuya's passionate hug.
"I-I get it, Kazuya. Thank y-"
"You hair products, your condoms, gas money-"
Lars's face redden with sheer embarrassment. "Kazuya!" Jun called to his brother in a scolding tone. The man stopped the assault.
The a gang of chuckles followed by full fledged laughter reached all the members of Lars's family.
"Whatever, I'm done." Lars mumbled under his breath
"I serious thought that the baby would finish school before you." Jin smart-ass rendered an dark glare from the graduate.
'Damn, is this all they're going to do is pick on me tonight?' Lars was getting annoyed, but he knew that his family meant well...or so he hoped.
"Well, the good news is, we're going out drinking tonight and Lars is paying." Kazuya said in a cheery tone.
Before the young man could respond, he cut himself off the moment his golden orbs connected with an all too familiar orbs of a certain person.
Just a few steps away from his group was Alissa, along with a another male, and a few other person who seemed to know her.
The magenta haired woman, stood still as the two continued to exchange stares at one another. Lars terribly wanted to approach Alissa. He wanted to see her beautiful smile flashed at him. He craved to hold her in his arms. He craved-
Abruptly, Alissa terminated the intense staring contest. She faced her back towards him.
That simple action was enough to ruin Lars fragile happiness that he was feeling. He tried to conceal his pain by smiling and continuing some idle conversation with his family, but a sinking feeling had penetrated his heart. He hated to end his graduation on an emotional low note. He had hoped to patch things up with the beauty, but to only be shot down with a cold turn of the shoulder.
A/N: I hope you all enjoyed! I will post next week. The next chapter will be at the start of the new year at Lar's new job. I can't wait. Until then take care!
