"Well, little one, it seems the rain doesn't want to stop for us anytime soon." Shigure sighed and patted Honey's head, looking out at the stormy, mid-evening sky. "Perhaps it'd be wise if you spent another night here; I'm sure the rain will stop by tomorrow."
"But I want to see my Takashi again! Why didn't he come immediately to pick me up when I told him I wanted to come back! What if he doesn't want me to come back?" Honey sniffled.
"Oh, cheer up. I know, by the way you talk about him, that this Takashi is a very special person. I'm sure there's a very reasonable explanation as to why he hasn't come yet! Perhaps he was stuck in traffic, or was held up by the storm, or got struck by lightning, or was run over by a train, or was struck by a falling meteor, or-"
"Shigure, you're obviously not helping!" Yuki came to Honey's mental rescue, saving him from the terrifying thoughts of Mori dying in all sorts of creative ways thought up by Shigure.
"Well, it seems I'm helping him better than you are. All you've done today was fight with Kyo; a bit more than usual I'm afraid. What's been troubling you?"
"W-well," brief thoughts of Tohru smiling as she declared that she didn't care that Yuki was homosexual fluttered through his mind. It had been the only thing he had been able to think about all day, and Kyo seemed to be doing the same. "I'm fine! Nothing is troubling me!" Yuki snapped.
"Feeling a bit crabby are we, Yuki?" Shigure shot him a knowing glance. Yuki was about to reply when Kyo entered quickly, his features contorted with rage.
"Hi, Kyo-Chan!" Honey greeted happily.
"Leave me the hell alone!" Kyo snapped, plopping down on the sofa and causing Shigure's book to slip out from under its cushion.
"What's this?" Yuki scooped up the novel and began flipping through the well-thumbed pages. A look of horror slowly crept across his face. "W-what is this?!" He demanded, his face bright red.
"Nothing, nothing," Shigure quickly snatched the book and stuffed it into his kimono. "Nothing at all."
"Well, what was it?!" Kyo pressed, staring hard at Yuki's stricken face. Yuki mumbled something about indecent women and retreated from the room.
"Well, I believe it's time for two little boys I know to get to beddy-bye!" Shigure wiped his palms on his knees and gave Honey and Kyo a hurried grin.
"Who the hell are ya calling little, huh?!" Kyo curled his fists. "And it's like five o'clock!"
"Even Usa-Chan doesn't go to bed this early!" Honey agreed. "But I guess if that's how you guys do it around here, I'm in!" He plopped happily on the ground and began to snore almost impossibly soon after.
"Everyone!" Tohru called from the kitchen. "Dinner is ready!"
"Well, would you look at that? Our Tohru has prepared a special meal for us, Kyo! Come along!" Shigure practically dragged a protesting Kyo from the room, eager to escape from talking about the book.
"Men!" Tamaki strutted back in forth in front of Mori, Haruhi, the twins, Momiji and Kyoya. "If we ever want to see our little Honey again, we have to take action!"
"Yeah, boss, but would do we do?" Asked the twins in unison, shrugging their shoulders.
"Simple! Kyoya, care to explain the plan?" Tamaki did not actually have a plan.
"Well, I suppose we could drive up to the Sohma Hot Springs and confront Honey." Kyoya pushed his glasses up onto the bridge of his nose.
"That's precisely what I was going to say! Nice work, Kyoya!" Tamaki approved proudly.
"I still can't believe Honey wants to steal my life!" Momiji puckered. "I mean, I totally trusted him!"
"Don't worry; we'll get things sorted out!" Tamaki announced. "But first, we need to suit up!"
"Tamaki," Kyoya sighed. "You are the only one of us that actually wants to wear these stupid costumes."
"Yeah, Sempai, don't you think they're a little… Ridiculous?" Haruhi raised an eyebrow.
"Oh…" Tamaki withdrew into his corner. "I just thought… I just thought…" He sniffed pitifully and gave everyone his best puppy-dog eyes. "I thought this was something we could all do together… As friends."
"Tamaki, we don't have time for this!" Kyoya pleaded. Tamaki turned slowly to look at him, his violet-blue eyes round and misty.
"Fine, whatever, Sempai! We'll dress up, just stop looking at me like that!" Haruhi finally caved. Tamaki leapt from his corner and swung Haruhi around in a circle, holding tightly to her hands.
"I knew you'd come around!" He laughed. "Now, suit up!"
Exactly one hour later, the exasperated host club (and Momiji) were wearing skin-tight, lime green matching jumpsuits and crammed into Kyoya's black Ferrari and heading down the road at top speed.
"I still don't understand why we have to wear these stupid outfits." Kyoya's left eye twitched.
"Come now, Kyoya! Do you want to have an exciting rescue mission or don't you? And everyone knows we can't have an exciting rescue mission without cool matching outfits!"
"Yeah, we think we look fine," the twins gazed at each other with satisfaction.
"I think they're a little… Tight." Haruhi squirmed. The jumpsuit hugged the boyish figure she had always tried so hard to hide.
"Oh," Tamaki blushed. "Is my little girl uncomfortable?! It's alright; daddy will protect you from those nasty perverts skulking around!"
"Tamaki-Sempai, you do realize the only pervert around is you, right?"
"Mommy!" Tamaki clung to Kyoya. "Our little girl is going through that rebellious stage that all parents dread! Don't worry, Haruhi! Even if it is your time in the month-"
"Shut up, Sempai!" Haruhi flushed. "Just leave me alone!"
"They grow up so fast!" Tamaki sobbed into Kyoya's chest.
"Calm down… Daddy." Kyoya rolled his eyes and patted Tamaki's back. "Albert, how far away are we?" Kyoya turned to address his driver.
"We'll be arriving any moment now, sir."
"Excellent. Now, Momiji was it?"
"Yup," Momiji scratched the hair beneath his purple hat.
"Well, could you tell us any reason Honey would want to stay at your house? Perhaps love for a certain person or persons, or something of that sort""
"Um… Oh my gosh! He does love someone! That must be why he wants to stay!"
"Whom?"
"Tohru or course! I understand now! Honey loves Tohru, and that's why he wants to stay!"
"Who is Tohru?" Mori entered the conversation.
"Well, she's real nice and I think she's pretty and that's why Honey must like her!"
"Tohru." Mori thought aloud. "I will have my revenge…"
