Chapter Two: The Aftermath
It wasn't everyday that a person monumentally screws up. But for Hinata, that was her today. Not only had she sent that email, she had managed to send it to the one person in school that made her scared shitless to talk to.
Sabaku no Gaara.
Why me. Why now! What did I do to deserve this never ending torture! I swear I am a good person...Or at least I try to be!
Of course this happened to her, because when would life throw anything else but difficulty and embarrassment her way? She threw herself back into her comforters and squeezed her eyes shut as the morning sun glared through the windows.
Was it okay to say she was ready to die? Was it okay that she wanted to permanently faint into a never ending abyss in time?
Because this sounded like a perfect opportunity to.
Maybe just a few of those pills on her desk will do the trick! Just as she brought her hand to her mouth a loud buzz startled her. Who on earth would be messaging her at this time in the morning. Unless it was...
There was no way it could be...
She had gotten an email! She rushed to her bed to check it. The message she had recieved was from Gaara. Panic immediately hit her like a freight train. Her palms became to profusely sweat and her throat became dry.
Oh god! He's going to kill me. I don't even need to do it myself!
Sometimes people have good hair days, or good luck, or good grades...
Naruto just had a "good turn of the century" kind of day. A kind of day that never occurs again, the rarest of all...
He stood up and instantly felt his head pound. He stumbled slightly across the room and tripped on a pile of cans. What the hell had happened last night!? He promised himself one beer and that was it... The extremely hungover teen reached up to his desk and felt around for his phone. When he found it the screen lit up with three messages from Sakura.
Why had Sakura texted him? She never talks to him... How odd! Maybe she finally realized that he was awesome and that they should date because Naruto would be a way better boyfriend than that nasty Uchiha boy.
A slew of nasty texts showed up followed by one text that told him she'd give him a chance.
"SCORE!" Naruto threw his fist up in the air and pumped it up and down. He completely ignored the rude messages and excitedly read the last one over and over again. She was going to finally give him a chance! After all this time, she was now going to let him prove he's worthy! There was no way he was going to let this opportunity pass him by!
Hinata combed her midnight blue hair and pulled on her Konoha Academy uniform. She was anxious for her first day of school. After breakfast and a quick shower she grabbed her keys and rushed out the door. A new Mercedes stood in the driveway, a recent present from her wealthy parents.
She was fortunate for her family's success in the business world, but she did not ever brag about it. Her family as well as Sasuke Uchiha's had a partnership, but their rival business created a stressful tension. The Sabaku family...Oh god...Her hands tightened on the wheel and she swallowed the lump in her throat.
She pulled into the school parking lot, making sure to lock her car before heading towards the bustling entrance. Once in the office she grabbed her schedule and hurried to her first class. As soon as she stepped in the door she regretted her decision to come to school today. In the corner of the classroom sat Gaara. She internally screamed with fear.
Gaara looked up, startled by the scream Hinata had just let out. It turns out it had not been as silent as she thought.
