Epilogue
The mermaid dress drapes across the hotel bed. It's white lace circling designs on the red bedding. Beside it lays a pair of white heels, lingerie (Bought by Al of course), hair dryer, earrings, and a pile of bobby pins.
Sitting in a chair her makeup is finished as her hair is curled and sprayed. Each piece straight and then curled. Sprayed by the can or hairspray and pinned to her head. Interlacing the curls by her neck. Wearing her white robe she fidgets with her feet. Knowing the man she is thinking of stands in the room next door.
"Oh my god I wonder if he's nervous. I can feel my skin moving. God I'm nervous! This is so scary! Walking down the isle! I don't know if I can do this! I might pass out! Someone let me out! I can't do this!"
"And you would think I would be the nervous one since I'm getting married." Tris laughs at Al who paces the floor. She only wants to see Tobias but she's not nervous on marrying him. She's certain she wants that.
"Al calm down. Why are you so nervous?" Shauna asks putting on her black chiffon dress. The v-neck wrapping up top as the bottom flows to her gold heels. Holding her white bouquet of roses in hand.
"So many things could go wrong! I could trip! Lynn may kill me on the way up! Georgie may take a terrible picture of me! Annabelle could trip or run out of flowers! Four could get nervous and leave!" He squeals careful not to rub a hand through his already gelled hair.
"Al would you shut your fat mouth! Look at her she's pale in less than a second. Well paler then usual." Lynn snaps at him pointing at Tris. Christina Tris her pale slightly and sits down next to her
"Don't worry about him. I just called Will and Four is not going to leave. Actually he said he might tear down the door if he has to wait any longer to see you."
"He did?"
"Yeah. Will complained that Uriah and Zeke both had to hold him down. Will talked him out of coming down here."
"Oh that's good." Tris said.
"Actually only if he could FaceTime you..I hope that's okay?"
"Yeah actually put him on." Tris was slightly happier now. She got to see and talk to him. She hasn't seen him since yesterday morning. Even then the couple were not suppose to see each other. Their friends had decided that the week they would be in separate hotel rooms. The grooms party bought a suite and so did the bridal party. All week had been planned with events and things to keep them occupied. While Tobias would be having a get together with his grooms; Tris was at the spa getting a wax with her bridesmaids. The couple even had separate dinner rehearsals. Both Tris and Tobias pleaded the night before to stay with each other. Christina told them no. Their friends said that if they leave them alone that they might "do the nasty" again. Contrary to popular belief the two haven't been involved that sexually due to Tris was not ready. So from being apart both are dying to hear one another.
Placing the phone in front of Tris Christina covers the lens with her lace vail. Tobias shows up on the screen but you can't really see Tris. She is covered by a only partially see through fabric.
"Tris are you there I can't see you? Christina what's this?" Tris was shocked. Her mouth had almost fallen to the floor. Seeing him in a tux brought her back to the ball those many years ago. Tris couldn't believe how attractive he fiancé was.
"Nice try Four but your not aloud to see your bride before the wedding. It's bad luck!" Christina crosses her arms and huffs.
"Is that why the vail is on the camera?"
"Yes! Now we don't have all day talk to your future wife."
"I'm starting to hate all these wedding rules and rituals. You?" Tobias laughs.
"You have no idea. Marlene is still trying to figure out how to use something blue." Tris smiles. While Marlene leans into the camera.
"Not true we found out what will be blue!"
"What?" Tris asks her friend.
"Let's just say underneath your white dress Four here will have a lacy blue surprise." She giggles as Tris's face turns a crimson color.
"Marlene I can see a red figure on the screen. I don't appreciate you putting my future wife to this much shame." Tobias can't hold back his laughing so it's suppressed in a smirk.
"Nah that's my job." Al says in the background. Resulting in Lynn smacking him.
"Remind me again why he's in your room? Not the guys?" Tobias raises his eyebrows at Al sitting in the room.
"Oh Four you know I wouldn't do anything. I couldn't cheat on Georgie ever, let alone with a woman! No offense ladies!"
"None taken." Christina, Shauna, Marlene, and Lynn both say.
"And for the changing part; please my job is to give naked woman clothing to model." Tobias rolled his eyes. In fact he knew that truly was Al's job. Al decided early on to take his swimming career in a different way. Al opened up swim suit company. Were he produces fashionable but yet moderately priced suits. Ranging in many different styles. Recently he added a kids selection.
"That dosent mean you need to see my fiancé non clothed."
"Oh don't worry she let anyone see her without the robe. She's too insecure for what reason I don't know." Al scoffs and fixes his bow tie.
"Again you have no idea how much I want to see you now." Tobias tells her.
"Oh I think I know. I'm so fidgety right now it's not funny."
"Are you nervous or having second thoughts?" Tobias grimaces slightly but only Tris notices. Over years Tobias has mastered the art of being emotionless. While Tris seems to notice
"No I just want this to be over. I don't want to have to wait to be yours."
"I get that I just want to hold you in my arms and call you mine." Then another face appears on the screen.
"Found my pants now it's time to go. C'mon Four!" Their friend Zeke says showing his pants in the air. Just as Shauna mumbles something like, "Why did I marry him again?"
"I have to go now. Love you." Tobias tells her.
"Love you." She replies in an instant.
An hour later...
"Susan where is Peanut? And Al where is your daughter?" Tris asks her sister in law.
"Beatrice please call my daughter by her name sometimes. And Katherine is with Al." It was true Susan's baby girl was with Al. Her name is Katherine Rose Prior and she was born on May 24th. Only a few years later Jeremy Andrew Prior was born and now the couple are awaiting for their third child. Both Susan and Caleb were going to walk down with their children. Jeremy as the ring bear and Katherine as one of the flower girls.
"I have the girlies! I was fixing their bows. I wouldn't want my baby Annabelle to have a messy bow!" Al shouts bringing the two girls dressed in their gold flower girl dresses. Each with a black bow on their heads. To match the wedding colors of black and gold.
"I wonder if I'm going to be like that with Noah here." Christina ponders rubbing her slightly plump belly. After school Will went into the career of designing instruments. Not until he and Christina married as soon as possible. Christina waited to have children till now for her career. Christina is now a first grade teacher at a local elementary. And she can't wait till her son joins their world.
"If Will is like Zeke when I delivered you may not even get to hold the baby." Shauna laughs remembering her husband in the delivery room. Shauna became a trainer for the local gym and Zeke works in the control room for the recording studio. Spending each of their times at work or with their one kid. Zeke finds it a struggle every day being a father. He never knew that from being a ladies man now he scares off those boys from his daughter. Shauna got pregnant right before the wedding so Zina Samantha Pedrad was the oldest among the gangs kids. While Susan and Caleb walk down with the still young Jeremy Zina is walking with Annabelle and Katherine. She stands over by her mother wearing a black dress. According to Zeke a black bag would be better to keep the boys eyes off. Zeke has been protective over his daughter ever since she was the once premature baby.
"Ladies it's show time!" Christina says as she composes herself.
Her and Will are the first to walk out.
Then Uriah and Marlene. Who are married happily with no kids. Both looking foreword to possibly adopting a child in the spring. Marlene and Uriah were always the adventurous couple.
Followed by Zeke and Shauna.
Then Lynn and Al. Tris knew that a picture of them walking down the isle would be a lifetime of happiness.
Then would be Susan, Jeremy, and Caleb.
Soon behind is Zina, Katherine, and Annabelle.
Annabelle the tiny daughter of Al and George. The two adopted her after her home was destroyed. A fire burned down her families village. Annabelle was only a baby when Al and George took her in. From the small Native American reservation in Alaska to a home in Chicago. Al and George couldn't be happier with their tiny gift.
As the first couple leaves Tris's father comes beside her. Handing her a letter before kissing her forehead. Tris looks confused but he gestures for her to open it.
Tris,
I have waited all day to see you. No scratch that all night. I don't know about you but the others placing us in different rooms meant I got no sleep. I feel different when your not by my side. Half of what I can be. But the thought of making you mine forever pushes me through the pain.
I know I'm incredibly lucky to have a girl like you. I wouldn't trade the world for you and there isn't anything I wouldn't do for you.
Just please walk down that isle so I can say your mine. I've had my eye on you since the day I came in room 111 with Shauna to greet you. And I'm ready to hold your hand as we face life together
I love you, Tobias.
PS: Who could forget that cute butt I saw that day in room 111 too!
She links her arm inside her fathers. Walking down the path that changes her life. Walking to the man at the end of the alter. While one thing courses through her mind.
The man I love, in truth my Beauty of Dauntless.
3:33 PM
With her legs spread apart she waddles around the house. Holding a jar of peanut butter and Doritos. Dipping each chip into the the creamy jar and then popping it into her mouth. Soon running out of chips in her party bag. Resorting into eating peanut butter straight out of the jar. Flopping on the couch she sighs.
"Look at me! I mean look at me! I'm only three months pregnant and my belly is huge!" She puts a hand on her swollen belly.
"Your not fat the doctor said the weight is normal. Tris you have a little human growing in there." She sighs as he rubs his hand on her belly. Kissing the plump stomach.
"You don't know where that's been." She raises her eyebrow at her husband.
"If our little one has been with you I'm sure peanut butter has been there the whole time."
"Speaking of that we need to go to the store." She chuckles as he shakes his head.
Two Months later...
"MOVE IT FAT LADY COMING THROUGH!" Tris shouts driving the stores electric vehicle. Her bump is even larger now and movement has become tiring for her tiny body.
"Hey lady those are for the handicap. Not fat people." A voice shouts at her. Gritting her teeth she wheels around ready to scream. Until she is met by a face she knows too well.
"I should have know that mouth belonged to you Al."
"Yeah I'm disappointed in you Mrs. Turbo here."
"We will forget about the fat comment if you will just help me and buy some chocolate ice cream."
"Then off to the freezers we go my lady." Speeding down the isle she points to the large tubs. They take down two and proceed to the checkout.
"By the way where is your hunk. I'm surprised he let you out. Last I heard your under house arrest." Then Al knew what had happened once he heard a deep growl behind him.
"Tris who is this stranger and why did you leave the house."
"Be quiet Four it's Al I'm getting ice cream." She hushes as the woman checks her out. Four nods his head at Al and wheels Tris off. Tris waddles to the car and take no time poppin of the lid. Then licking the ice cream.
"Tris your not suppose to be moving around or exerting force. Your suppose to relax and do limited exercises each day. I mean what could have happened to you if I didn't show up. You would have walked home! It's bad enough you walked here! What am I going to do with you!" Tris lifted her chocolate covered face from the tub of ice cream.
"Have more ice cream?!" Then proceeds to sticks her face back down. He chuckles and drives them home. Turning into the street she bolts upward.
"PULL OVER!"
"What's the matter is it the baby?" He looks over to her clutching her stomach.
"I SAID PULL OVER." Abruptly he pulls to the side of the road.
"Tris we should really go to the hospital. We shouldn't stay here the baby could be hu..." He is cut off by her placing his hand on her stomach.
"What's this?"
"The baby is kicking." In that moment his grin is wider than a thousand miles.
And he's forgetting all about the terrible today.
2 months later...
Tris stood there in awe. The water pool beneath her mad her eyes bulge. Grabbing the bag by the door she rushes outside. Waving her hands desperately and catching the neighbors attention.
Clutching her stomach Mrs. Berg gets the idea fast. Pulling out her old station wagon she eases the plump Tris inside.
Then the 70 year old lady speeds to the hospital faster then anything. All while telling Tris to breathe in and out.
Once at the hospital they wheel Tris into a room. Laying her on a bed and spreading her legs. To see how far she is dilated and check the baby. As in the waiting room comes a rushing Tobias. Slamming through doors until he is met with his wife's room.
Still busy from work he wears a guitar around his neck, but is clueless to the instrument. Instead all focus lies on his wife before him.
"Now Tris I have some news for you." The doctor says.
"Is the baby okay? Will she of he come out right?" Worry struck as they gripped another's hand.
"Yes the baby is fine. But your not in labor." Both of their faces dropped.
"What do you mean?" He questions the doctor.
"Your not giving birth to your child today."
"But my water broke!" She pleads.
"Mrs. Eaton your water didn't break. Instead you wet yourself."
A small sheepish smile spread across her face in realization. Blood flushed to her cheeks and turned her face pink.
"Whoops!"
The Day of...
"Breath in and out. In and out..." Holding her husbands hand she pushes. Then hearing a small infant cry.
"Congratulations it's a boy!" Both of the parents smiled at their child being swaddled then handed to the father.
"Now please push. The next one is not far behind."
"What do you mean next one!?" Tris practically screamed.
"I know you didn't want the gender but I thought the nurse told you this. Your'e having twins!"
"That why I looked like a beached whale. Because it was two of them!" Chuckling her husband squeezes her hand. So she continues to push. Slightly screaming at the pain, but staring into his blue orbs or eyes. Then a shrill scream is heard.
"Congratulations you have a baby girl!" This time the child is placed in its mothers arms. Looking down the girl has her mothers deep blue eyes. While her son shares the eyes of his father. Tris's voice breaks the air.
"So your sure I don't have another up there?"
Standing behind the stage she holds her two bundles. Hearing her husbands still beautiful voice ring through the stage. Each child wearing small ear headphones to protect their ears from the loud music, while still allowing them to hear. The kids wearing similar outfits. They both wear white long sleeves with a number on the front. Oliver wearing a 4 and Ava wearing a 6. To keep their little heads warm Tris has beanies on top over the headphones. Oli's grey to match his grey jeans. Ava's purple to match her dark purple tights, under her leather skirt. While both tots have on little leather jackets like their momma.
The smile can't be wiped off of Tris's face at the moment. Holding her two children while listening to her husband sing with his best friends. Tonight's show is one of their plans to come back and sing even thought they have quit writing. Standing their Tris remembers herself singing in college with him. Both attending school, being on tour, and still in a relationship. Times got hard but both of them made it.
Due to being pregnant Tris had to stop her dancing. She could continue it but that would mean being away from her children. Currently Tris has devoted her time with her children but she still thinks of what she is going to do afterwards.
"Oh don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me."
I said, "You're holding back,"
She said, "Shut up and dance with me!"
This woman is my destiny
She said, "Oh, oh, oh,
Shut up and dance with me
We were victims of the night,
The chemical, physical, kryptonite
Helpless to the bass and faded light
Oh, we were bound to get together,
Bound to get together.
She took my arm,
I don't know how it happened.
We took the floor and she said,
"Oh, don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me."
I said, "You're holding back,"
She said, "Shut up and dance with me!"
This woman is my destiny
She said, "Oh, oh, oh,
Shut up and dance with me."
A backless dress and some beat up sneaks,
My discothèque, Juliet teenage dream.
I felt it in my chest as she looked at me.
I knew we were bound to be together,
Bound to be together
She took my arm,
I don't know how it happened.
We took the floor and she said,
"Oh, don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me."
I said, "You're holding back,"
She said, "Shut up and dance with me!"
This woman is my destiny
She said, "Oh, oh, oh,
Shut up and dance with me."
Oh, come on girl!
Deep in her eyes,
I think i see the future.
I realize this is my last chance.
She took my arm,
I don't know how it happened.
We took the floor and she said,
"Oh, don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me."
I said, "You're holding back,"
She said, "Shut up and dance with me!"
This woman is my destiny
She said, "Oh, oh, oh,
Shut up and dance!."
"Oh, don't you dare look back
Just keep your eyes on me."
I said, "You're holding back,"
She said, "Shut up and dance with me!"
This woman is my destiny
She said, "Oh, oh, oh,
Shut up and dance with me."
Oh, oh, oh, shut up dance with me
Oh, oh, oh, shut up dance with me
Finishing his song Four holds the mic in his hand.
"Now most of you know about my beautiful wife and how she blessed me two kids not too long ago. Well you see she is backstage and I heard we have a surprise for you guys." Racing through Tris's mind is what is he doing.
"First I have to get two of our favorite babysitters and then I'm gonna play some music. I'm sure you all know what to do from there." Tris maneuvers over to the side of the stage to see what is going on. Tobias insisted that her stylist dress her up for the night. So she wears black skinny jeans but no too tight as a mom, gold heels, a beaded thick tanktop, and her leather jacket. Sneaking from behind the drum set Al and Lynn come to her and take her kids from her. Each holding a child they push her forewords towards the stage.
A familiar tune rings throughout the stage as the crowd screams. Tris stops befor getting on the stage. Seeing her husband waving for her to come up; she freezes. Running from the stage Tris bolts. Tobias stands on the stage shocked as the crowd still screams and now starts to chant. 6! 6! 6!
Tobias looks at his friends for help but none of them know what to do. Tobias shrugs his shoulders and pulls up the mic.
"It's seems as though she has left the stage. So she will not..."
His voice is cut off and so it the music. All the lights on the stage turn off and so do the audience lights. The crowd is shocked by the sudden loss of electricity and they look around for the source. Tobias looks around but no one knows what is happening.
One voice then soon is heard across the stadium. Without music she sings in the dark.
I still hear your voice, when you sleep next to me.
I still feel your touch in my dream.
Forgive me my weakness, but I don't know why
Without you it's hard to survive.
The lights suddenly turn on and she stomps her foot down. As the music rings through the audience. Smiling at her husband she sings as she did in college.
'Cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling.
And everytime we kiss, I swear I could fly.
Can't you feel my heart beat fast, I want this to last.
Need you by my side.
'Cause everytime we touch, I feel the static.
And everytime we kiss, I reach for the sky.
Can't you hear my heart beat so...
I can't let you go.
Want you in my life.
Your arms are my castle, your heart is my sky.
They wipe away tears that I cry.
The good and the bad times, we've been through them all.
You make me rise when I fall.
'Cause everytime we touch, I get this feeling.
And everytime we kiss, I swear I could fly.
Can't you feel my heart beat fast, I want this to last.
Need you by my side.
The crowd screams and cheers for her once she is finished. Tobias leans in to his mic then.
"Thankyou all for coming.."
"Oh no no. You got me out here now. Recently I have found out someone has been writing some lyrics here. So I added a little bit myself and I think we have just one more song. Hit it Uri!"
Can you feel it?
Now it's coming back we can steal it.
If we bridge this gap,
I can see you
Through the curtains of the waterfall.
When I lost it,
Yeah you held my hand,
But I tossed it,
Didn't understand,
You were waiting,
As I dove into the waterfall.
So say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Can you feel my love?
Bombs away,
Bombs away,
Bombs away.
Can you feel my love?
Bombs away,
Bombs away,
Bombs away,
Say Geronimo!
Well we rushed it,
Moving way too fast.
That we crushed it,
But it's in the past.
We can make this leap,
Through the curtains of the waterfall.
So Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Can you feel my love?
Bombs away,
Bombs away,
Bombs away.
Can you feel my love?
Bombs away,
Bombs away,
Bombs away.
Well I'm just a boy,
With a broken toy,
All lost and coy,
At the curtains of the waterfall.
So it's here I stand,
As a broken man,
But I've found my friend,
At the curtains of the waterfall.
Now I'm falling down,
Through the crashing sound.
And you've come around,
At the curtains of the waterfall.
And you rushed to me,
And it sets us free.
So I fall to my knees,
At the curtains of the waterfall.
So Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Say Geronimo!
Can you feel Say Geronimo! Say Geronimo!Say Geronimo!Say Geronimo!my love?
Bombs away!Bombs away! Bombs away! Say Geronimo! Say Geronimo!Say Geronimo!Say Geronimo!
Can you feel make this leap. make this leap. make this leap. my love? Make this leap.
Can you feel my love?
Suddenly two pairs of feet are rushing towards the two on stage. Clapping their hands and giggling. Both parents eyes widen as they scoop up their kids.
"THEY JUST WALKED FOR THE FIRST TIME!" Tris coos planting kisses all over her babies. Her husband smiles and kisses his children as well. Taking their first steps.
:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:~:
"C'mon say it. Say it. Say Al. Say Al." He coos at the two giggling children.
"You know if my kids first words are your name before mine I will chop off your balls. Then serve them for dinner tonight." Tris says while putting on her earrings.
"Okay okay point taken. Ready birthday girl?"
"Yeah I guess. I'm still itching to see what Four got me. He said it was a surprise."
"That man loves you more then the earth whatever it is I'm sure it's perfect."
Walking downstairs they are treated by family and friends. Her own two angels even dressed up in a dress and button down.
After Dinner...
"Alright I'm itching to know what my present is. Can I pretty please have it now?"
"I guess we can arrange that. Just close your eyes." Gently she closed her eyes and awaits the surprise. Hearing movement in their living room she is told to open them.
Before her eyes is Tobias, Oliver, and then Ava.
"We." Tobias's deep voice says. Next comes Oli's.
"Love." Tears spring to her eyes waiting a long pause till Ava giggles.
"Hehehe MAMA." Crying she reaches foreword and hug all three of them.
"Best birthday present Thankyou." Crying tears of joy her twins giggle and squirm.
"Mama!" Oliver says. Then Tris notices Tobias crying.
"Hey are you okay?" She chuckles slightly because her husband this emotional in front of others is unusual.
"This was the first time they actually said it. I didn't think it would work. You have no idea how nervous I was in dinner." He sighs as everyone laughs.
First words
()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()()
"AAHHHHHHHHHH it's spraying me! Do something he's spraying all over me!"
"WHAT THE HECK SHE IS SPRAYING ME! I DIDNT KNOW GIRLS COULD SPRAY THEIR PEE LIKE THAT!"
"EEEEEEEEWWWWWW SHE PEEEDED IN MY MOUTH ZEKE! EWEEEEEWWWEWWWW!"
"THIS IS SO GROSSS OH MY GOD! JUST GO THE BATHROOM ON THE TOILET PLEASE! YOU SAID THIS WOULD BE EASY URIAH"
Upstairs the two voices squeal as two little kids giggle.
"Think we should go rescue them?" Tris asks Tobias.
"Nah we did pay the idiots to potty train. They have to finish the job." He smirks at her.
Soon many firsts came along as well...
First school
First father daughter dance
First homework
Soon it seemed the kids were growing faster and faster.
Tapping his foot he waits outside the door. Praying wthat she's almost done in there. He soon gets aggravated and starts to punch on the door. Moment by moment getting angrier that she's taking so long in the bathroom.
"The funny thing is I've been standing here the whole time."
Turning around he sees her with her arms crossed leaning against wall. Wearing a smirk he knows too well. Groaning he stops in the bathroom and close the door.
"Ava how many times have we told you not to mess with your brother?"
"Sorry mom but Oliver can be so gullible sometimes. I've been out of the bathroom for the past 20 minutes." She grins at her mom. Hoping down the steps into the kitchen. Wearing jean shorts, a Fall Out Boy T-shirt, and her leather jacket. Her long blonde hair in waves from the braid she slept in. Finally sitting down at the table and snatching up a pancake from the plate.
Not long after Oliver comes and joins them at the table. His deep brown hair still wet from the shower. Wearing dark wash jeans and his black tee with a chasm design and a large 4 on the back.
"I'm off to work now. Now you two behave at school. No harassing teachers both of you."
"Yes dad." The twins say.
"Good. Have a wonderful day sweetie. And here don't make me regret listening to your mother." Kissing Tris he drops keys in front of Oliver. Oliver's eyes widen.
"The keys to the Jeep?"
"Yes have fun and it better be in one piece when I get back."
Not long after their father the kids ride to school. With the top down blasting their music.
After school...
"Dad I was wondering if I could go out on a date?"
"Wha Wha what do you mean?" Tobias stammered. He had worked so hard to protect his little girl.
"Their is this new kid at school. He's been really nice and we have been talking. And he asked me out. I was thinking we could just go to a movie and talk." Her father looked in pain. She almost for a second thought he was growling.
"I would like to meet this boy first. Before I allow you go out."
"Would dinner tonight work?"
"Fine. Go tell your mother." Tobias rubbed his forehead. Afraid of who this boy was and what his intentions are with his daughter. He could practically hear Oliver snickering in the other room.
"Oliver I suggest you stop laughing or you will never date a girl." The laughing stopped as soon as he said date.
Dinner came faster then expected and Tris was nervous herself. What type of boy would her daughter like? Would he just play her? Would he be like Peter? She didn't want her to face the same thing she did in Highschool. Or that night in college; some white scars still mark her.
The door bell ring and all breathes but Ava stop. Even Oliver wanted to see if this boy was good enough for his sister. He was determined to be the big tough older brother.
Opening the door a boy stood there in dark jeans, boots, and dark red flannel. He has tan skin and chocolate colored eyes. His tall and lean figure hugs Ava. She reciprocates the hug and leads him towards the rest or them family.
"This is my fathers, mother, and my brother Oliver." The buy on the outside is smiling a bright white smile and he seems happy. While inside he's terrified of this tall muscular father who looks like he could kill him with a glare.
Tris smiles at the boy while taking a sip of her water.
"It's nice to meet you Mr. Eaton. My name is Uriah." Suddenly water is spit from Tris's mouth into the air.
"MOM!" Ava squeals. Tobias's face hardens as Tris leans her face on the table laughing hysterically. Oliver looks back and forth confused.
"Mom! Stop laughing please! Your being rude!"
"No, it's fine. I understand my name is unusual, but I was named after my father." Tris laughs even harder now, but Tobias stands up.
"Uriah excuse my wife she finds this predicament a little too funny. Uriah your new to the town right? Would you mind giving directions to your house? I have some business to deal with."
"Ummmm I guess."
"Alright we will take my Audi. And honey please." Tris slowly stops laughing clutching her stomach.
"Okay okay. One second I will be in the car. Oliver make sure you have your phone we need something to record this."
The family all come inside the Audi and wait for Tris. Until she comes back grinning carrying her phone and a bottle of wine. Tobias rolls his eyes at his wife and her amusement. He find s this not amusing at all.
"What it would be rude not to bring anything?" Tris smiles as Tobias as he grumbles and follows Uriah juniors directions. Ava along the hole way is confused and keeps asking questions. Each time turned down and Oliver seems to be confused but enjoying the show. Uriah Jr seems terrified.
"I KNOW. I think I peed myself when he said his name. I spitted out my water and died of laughter." Tris says on the phone.
"Yeah we are going over his house right now Lynn. I think the poor boy is terrified by us. But I promise I will record it!" She laughs on the phone as the rest of the car is silent.
"Alright we are here bye!" Tris hangs up the phone.
Unlocking the door Uriah Jr shakes. Ava mumbles something about never bringing home a guy again.
"Mom?! Dad?! Someone is here to see you." Tris breaks out into a giant grin and gives Oliver the phone to record. Then sets her phone on a coat rack to record. Already laughing at the welcome mat saying Welcome to The Pedrads.
"Honey I thought you had a date? Why are you home already...OH MY GOD!" The brown haired mother drops her book on the floor. Tris by now is in tears on the floor. Tobias's face is getting redder by the minute.
"Marlene darling what's wrong? Is he okay? OH MY FUCKING GOD!" Marlene is now with Tris on the ground laughing.
"Uriah Pedrad you have five seconds to explain your fucking son wanting to date my daughter." Tobias growls.
"Out of all the girls in the world Uriah; you chose to be nuts about the Eaton girl. Do you want me to neutered by my best friend?" Uriah laughs at his son.
"You know me?" Ava says.
"Ava I go long back with your parents. Heck your mom and dad payed me and Zeke to potty train you two! Yeah which you peed in my mouth then."
Ava stands there speechless as well as Uriah Jr. Marlene slowly composes herself while standing up.
"Tris excuse my reaction. I'm sure you had the same one at your place when learning about my son. Come on let's open that bottle of wine. I'm gonna call Shauna and Zeke. It's time we had a family reunion."
"FAMILY?" Ava shouts and then drops Uriah Jrs hand. Which everyone just noticed that she was holding it the whole time.
"No see Four here and I were practically brothers. See Oliver's shirt, I am the original Uriah Pedrad. Baby cakes your dad and I were in The Chasm together." Uriah explains patting her back.
He motions for all of them to follow him. Leading them into the kitchen they notice Tris and Marlene talking in the middle of the room. Sitting at the breakfast bar which divides the living room and kitchen.
"Oh Four stop huffing and puffing. It's not like he did this on purpose. Your daughter is beautiful no wonder my son is mad about her. Well mad is an understatement he wouldn't stop talking about her."
"Mom!"
"Hush darling. As I was saying Uriah Jr here didn't know you and Uri were practically brothers. He didn't know you would not ever let him date your daughter let alone any man who walks on the planet."
"Daddy!" Ava shouts.
"Ava you are too young. I will not allow it. Especially since if he's like his father when he was a teen."
"What are you trying to say Four? That I was a terrible teen. That I got into mischief?" Uriah stands there and asks. A smirk edging it's way across his face. While he still plays hurt. A hand then clasps on his shoulder.
"Good I don't have to say it for you!" A bright white smiles gleams to all of them chuckling. His tan skin shinning in the light. Uriah's eyes roll at the sight of him.
"Four my man I have heard of your predicament. Honestly Ava dear you're my god daughter and here is my god son. I could have god grand babies!"
"Uncle Zeke?" Out of the midst Uriah Jr asks.
"Yeah him and his ego." Uriah mumbles so Zeke slaps him across the head.
"And his lovely wife!"
"Aunt Shauna!"
"Hey I have an idea kids in the living room! Adults in the kitchen. I have a feeling Christina and Will might be joining us soon as well." Shauna suggests.
As soon as it's said Christina burst through the door an starts laughing as well. Will rushes in and smirks at the sight. Then the families kids all come together in living room. A
The oldest of the kids, Zina, shakes her head. Remembering her father and his brother interact. Over the years each family has grown. Now all the children sit in the living room.
Eatons: Oliver and Ava.
Pedrads: Uriah Jr, Bella, and Thomas.
Pedrads: Zina, Hannah, Haley, and Emily.
Bollards: Xavier, Ginger, and Andrew.
Zina is put in charge as they soon send the kids into the game room downstairs. Telling all of the children that parents need some time and that they were practically cousins. Which Four added in you can't date a cousin snidely.
"Well looks like the gang is all back together. Gosh it's been ages since all of us were in one place together!" Shauna sighs plopping into her seat.
"Excuse me the whole gang is here? You left out the most important person!" Turning around Lynn strides in.
Tris squeals for the first time in years. Runs up to her best friend and hugs her. Then an audible gasp rings in the room.
"Bitch please. Take a step back lady assface!" Al comes in the room and smirks. Hugging his friend as well. The three of them join the others at the dinner table.
"Al if my kids pick up your language I will kill you. We already have a hard enough time with Zeke teaching them" Shauna mumbles.
"Hey my girls are all angels!" Zeke protests to his wife. She rolls her eyes and laughs.
"Oh I hope you don't mind! Annabelle is in with them. She and Oliver were talking when I left."
"WHAT!?" Four shouts angrily. Tris rubs his shoulder and whispers in his ear.
"They are growing up it's okay." He grunts in frustration. Still remembering the day they used to wear diapers.
"Fine. But I'm still not letting my daughter date a spawn of Uriah." He grumbles. Uriah acts offended.
"While we have babysitters let's make a moment of this." Lynn says.
"What were you thinking of lady assface?" Al asks with a smirk.
"Oh you know my lord dipshit." She smirks next. Walking to the iPod Dock in she plugs in her IPhone. Then presses one button.
"I heard someone has never sang in front of her kids. Let's start with a classic." She winks at Tris.
Listen baby, ain't no mountain high,
Ain't no valley low, ain't no river wide enough baby
Tris rolls her yes and gets up with him. Singing sigh a spoon just like she did years ago in the cabin.
If you need me call me, no matter where you are,
No matter how far; don't worry baby
Just call my name; I'll be there in a hurry
You don't have to worry,
Oh baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe
Remember the day I set you free
I told you you could always count on me darling
From that day on, I made a vow,
I'll be there when you want me,
Some way, some how
Oh baby there ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe
Oh no darling
No wind, no rain
Or winters cold can stop me baby, no no baby
'Cause you are my goal
If you're ever in trouble;
I'll be there on the double
Just send for me, oh baby, ha
My love is alive
Way down in my heart
Although we are miles apart
If you ever need a helping hand,
I'll be there on the double
Just as fast as I can
Don't you know that there
Ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
To keep me from getting to you babe
Don'tcha know that there
Ain't no mountain high enough,
Ain't no valley low enough,
Ain't no river wide enough
Ain't mountain high enough
Ain't no valley low enough
"Well it seems someone hasn't lost their touch over these years." Al claps his friends back. Tris just shrugs.
"What's that suppose to mean? Do you think you have lost it or something?" Tobias asks her. Concerned that his wife is feeling bad about herself.
"I mean that's not what I have been writing over the years." Tris shrugs.
"You've been writing?" Tobias's mouth drops.
"Yes." Tris answers. Then walks over to the doc and presses a button on her phone while plugging it in.
"I've been writing this before I met you Four. I didn't finish it until now. Because I realized no matter what right now we are happy and I want nothing else. This is our story and we make it how we want it. We have the fire and we are gonna let it burn."
We, we don't have to worry 'bout nothing
'Cause we got the fire, and we're burning one hell of a something
They, they gonna see us from outer space, outer space
Light it up, like we're the stars of the human race, human race
When the light started out they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We'll be raising our hands, shining up to the sky
'Cause we got the fire, fire, fire
Yeah we got the fire, fire, fire
And we gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
Gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We don't wanna leave, no. We just wanna be right now (right), r-r-right now
And what we see is everybody's on the floor acting crazy, getting loco 'til the lights out
Music's on, I'm waking up, we fight the fire, then we burn it up
And it's over now, we got the love, there's no sleeping now, no sleeping now, no sleeping
When the light started out they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We gonna let it burn burn burn burn (burn burn)
Burn burn burn burn (burn burn)
We can light it up, up, up
So they can't put it out, out, out
We can light it up, up, up
So they can't put it out, out, out
We can light it up, up, up
So they can't put it out, out, out
We can light it up, up, up
So they can't put it out, out, out
When the light started out they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We'll be raising our hands, shining up to the sky
'Cause we got the fire, fire, fire
Yeah we got the fire, fire, fire
And we gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
Gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
We gonna let it burn, burn, burn, burn
When the light started out they don't know what they heard
Strike the match, play it loud, giving love to the world
We'll be raising our hands, shining up to the sky
'Cause we got the fire, fire, fire
Yeah we got the fire, fire, fire
And we gonna let it burn
Tris sings and her husband is in awe. Their friends laugh and raise their glasses of wine. Then she hears clapping behind her. Turning around Tris see all the kids.
"Mom I think you have something to tell us?" Oliver questions
"Yeah mom. Do tell us." Ava raises her eyebrow at her mother.
"Did they never tell you that your mom was a singer? She was The Six." Christina says taking a sip of wine.
"You have got to be joking me!" Ava screams. Tobias wraps his arm around his wife proud to finally tell his kids who she is.
"After her schooling your mom quite her career as a singer. She never preformed again well not her own concert or stuff like that. Last time she did was at my concert where you took your first steps. She wanted to be a mom not a celebrity. So a press release form and other law suits were signed. So then she would live a normal life. For you two." Tobias informs his kids. Proud that his wife gave up everything for them.
"So my mom is a famous singer and dancer?" Ava questions.
"Damn straight I was!" Tris says.
"AND THE SIX IS BACK LADIES AND GENTLEMAN. OH AND CHILDREN YOU DIDNT HEAR THAT NAUGHTY WORD!" Al shouts and everyone laughs. Talking together like one big family. Till Four notices Oliver in the corner with Haley. Them getting really close and Oliver kissing Haley.
"Why do my children have a thing for Pedrads!?" He groans and the room laughs.
Oh how time flies...
Soon the families all bloomed. Each child marrying, getting a job, living in happiness, failing, finishing school, and soon having kids. Tris and Tobias both growing old together. Teaching their kids how to love life.
Everything was a perfect Fairytale...until that morning. That morning at 3:46 AM when she woke up screaming.
That's when they found the cancer. Cancer that consumed her beautiful head.
Tris didn't have long to live and everyone knew. At not even 50 years old she would leave life early.
The beeping had filled the room one fall rainy day. Her heart beat slow and steady coursed it's way throughout the room fighting against the music playing in the room, Tchailkovsky. Her white sheets matching her pale fragile skin. Then her black bandanna covering her bald head. Tobias sitting in his chair reading a book. Tris laying in her bed resting and looking out at the rain drops.
"Hey Dad! We decided to stop by. I brought Bea with us too. She said she wanted to see mom. But I told her only if she's feeling well." Oliver says holding his little girl.
"I'm always well enough to see my grand kids."
"Good because I brought Jane and Freddie." Ava says bringing her children in. Tris thinks about how Oliver was always the more planned out one. Ava was more like her as a kid, unexpected.
"If you all are gentle you can sit in the end of grandmas bed." Tobias says lightly. All three young ones sit down. While Oliver and Ava pull up a chair next to their mothers bed.
"Oh mom we also found this journal of yours. It was placed in one of my boxes at home," Ava hands her mother an old journal with a black and gold cover. A lace design on top with a strap closing it.
"I haven't seen this for years!" She exclaims, "This was my journal I had from about the time I met your father."
"How did you and Grandpa meet Grandma?" Bea pipes up. Looking like a spitting image of her when she was that age.
"I'm not sure sweetie its a very long story. A story much too old for you three. Also I'm sure your parents have things to do then just listen to an old lady ramble." Tris tells them.
Both Ava and Oliver were hurt by this. Lately they had been very busy in their own life's. It wasn't until their father called last night telling them that she only had a couple more days, they realized how selfish they were. Their mother was dying and they focused on their own life's; not her ending one.
"Actually mom I think Oliver and I want to hear it. We have never heard much about your childhood or dads. Quite frankly I've never heard how you have met." Ava says crossing her legs. Oliver nods and a tear slips down Tris's face.
"Tobias would you please take the young ones out?" He looks at his wife and wipes her tear. Then nods and takes the grandkids out with him.
"Would you two read it please? I can no longer read that." Tris turns her head and faces the window. Watching each rain drop fall and hit the glass.
"Of course." Ava tells her mother, while reaching for the book.
"When the writing changes please read it Oliver. You will know when to." Tris says lightly.
Both the kids look at each other and open up the book. Noticing it is a multiple of papers and pictures pieced together. Opening it up is a picture of their mother as a young girl smiling at the airport. Waving at the camera and holding a cassette player in her hands. Both of the children are amazed at their mother. Ava turns the page and sees her mothers hand writing. She takes a deep breath and begins...
Beatrice Prior
Saturday October 24th, 4:00 am. End of departure to Ohara.
I awake to the smell of fresh coffee...
*And I am finally finished with BOD. I'm sorry it took forever everybody. This was a very long and hard thing to write. I also have been facing many issues in my own life currently. I've been very busy and stressed. I have gained and lost friends, cried, cheered, been sick, and lived. I am thankful for all of you dealing with me and my crazy schedule. Especially my best friend DivergentObsessor who has been with me through it all. I may have met you through someone who made me feel terrible about myself, but I am still glad that I dealt with that to meet you. I know none of this is my best writing at all but it helps to get my feelings and creations out. So I am thankful for every review, follow, favorite, and PM I have received. Nothing else can make up to what you all have done for me. If anyone is upset or down please message me! I am always here for anyone and I can respond to PMs anytime. Even if you want to talk about my story or yours I would love to. Talking to all of you make my day special and I would hate for that to end. I hope you all enjoyed my epilogue I figured it was a nice way to end the story. Since all fairytales have a happy ending...it just depends where you stop.~MT
