Rachel and Chris started to move down the street after waiting a while until they could no longer hear the Clickers. Chris remained on high alert the whole time just because of his nerves. Every time they would reach an alleyway Chris would be ready to shoot anything that about moved, he was that nervous after seeing what had gone on moments ago. He had to protect Rachel no matter what even if that meant he'd be in danger's way, that's what he felt was his main duty before anything else and he was going to stick to it.

Rachel looked behind at Chris once they got to a gas station along the way, the concrete around the entire place was all jagged and destroyed from what looked like different explosives.

"Man, this is some serious stuff," She said to herself as she facepalmed, "I had no idea it'd ever get to this point."

Chris heard her mumbling and responded back, "I thought you knew what we were getting into but I guess it's more than you thought, isn't it?"

"Don't you start with me mister," Rachel quickly snapped back. She was not in the mood to have an argument right now.

"Whatever. Let's check out this gas station and see if there's anything useful in here." Chris sighed and started walking towards the door.

As Chris entered the door he noticed the broken flickering lights along the ceiling that were still on. There was a sense of eeriness that he didn't enjoy at all, also the fact that flickering lights jacked up his orientation a little bit. Chris readied his rifle as he rounded several corners, Rachel had her revolver ready to go as well in case anything was to happen as well.

There was no one here though. Both of them sighed and sat down on the ground in front of where there used to be the fridges filled with cold drinks back in the day. Rachel let out a sigh and pulled out her map.

"There has to be a better way of doing this. This is freaking me out more and more with it being dark out. Thankfully it'll be lighter in about an hour." She told Chris pointing to the map. "You see... We've made it past the capital building and the library and had no trouble with that and we need to make it to the corporate office building riiiight... Here." She pointed to the building about half a mile away from them.

Chris didn't say anything and walked outside real quick and then came back to sit beside Rachel.

He just sat there in silence.

"What?" She waited for an answer.

"Do you realize... That there is a building that is completely on it's side that is covering up the rest of the street between here and there?!" Chris exclaimed.

"Goodness. I have to do everything." Rachel said to herself under her breath.

"What was that?"

"Oh nothing!" She hit him playfully on the shoulder. Then her eyes went serious and she started to draw on the map for an alternate route and then stopped.

"I literally have no idea where to go." Rachel said softly.

Chris sighed and walked away towards the door. "Well what do we do now? We can't head back, the second anyone knows we have whatever we have in our backpacks, that even you won't share with me, they're going to hunt us down."

Rachel got up and walked over to Chris and took off her backpack and started rummaging through it until she found the packages given to her and opened one up. Inside was filled up with loads of seeds, medicine and food and had a message on it.

The message read, "Thanks for the adventure, you've always been the best. Love, Rachel."

Rachel couldn't get herself to show it to Chris and quickly put it away before he noticed and then pulled out the other two which seemed to be drugs, but the good kind. "See? We still need to deliver these. I was told this could save those who are surviving in this world." She coughed, trying to keep calm after reading the message just moments before.

"Well it looks like we better get going then or they'll have our heads, no one is going to believe our story anyway if we get caught. They will just think we have something valuable and kill us for it so they'll get all the money." Chris had his back to her as he was watching outside.

Chris's eyes got really huge.

"But.."

"Get down!" Chris said to Rachel like dropping to the floor as fast as possible.

"What is it?!"

"Clickers. There must have been several behind us. Those things are really good at being quiet too if they want it looks like it." Chris whispered.

Rachel peered out of the front window of the store and saw several aimlessly walking around the gas pumps around the front of the gas station.

She had an idea.

"What if I just shoot the gas pump? That'll just kill all of them in the explosion." She thought to herself.

Rachel then motioned to Chris to move towards the back of the store and nodded to him with her signature "I got a plan." look, followed by a returning nod from Chris as he realized what to do as Rachel pulled the rifle off of Chris's shoulder and began aiming at the pump.

She wasn't exactly sure if this was going to work. She pulled out a match, lit it and threw it out towards one of the gas pumps, about a couple of feet away still from it.

Several of the Clickers outside the station clicked and made sounds of interest and began walking towards the sound.

"Crap. Dang it. It didn't go that far." Rachel sighed to herself. "It looks like I have to bring the gas to the match!"

Rachel opened fire on several of the pumps as they began pouring gas into the station. The Clickers began to go crazy as they went towards the sound of the gunfire.

Just then the flame finally started really going and the whole parking lot was covered in flames. Several of the Clickers caught on fire and let out their miserable shrieks as their bodies were consumed with the flames. Several of them died and Rachel was thinking this was good until she noticed something continuing to walk towards her. It was on fire but it didn't seem to be slowing down anytime soon.

It was like a huge version of these things, something she's never seen or heard about before. It was a hideous and horrifying sight. Like fungus that had taken over two people and had morphed together and the fungus itself was growing on the huge mass of a body and was even producing spores from several areas of its body. It seemed to have two mutilated faces on its body taken over by the fungus that one could only dream of and words could not describe the amount of fear that it put into Rachel as she about went blank when she realized what was happening.

"RUN!" She yelled out and booked it back towards the back of the gas station.

"There's a back exit!" Chris yelled and grabbed her to lead her out of the gas station.

The huge creature was right on their backs pretty much as they heard the entire store sound like it was pushed around when it barged through all of the shelves and kept coming towards them.

"Oh good, it can't fit through the..."

It went through the entire concrete backside of the gas station.

"Run run run run run!" Rachel and Chris kicked it into high gear as there backpacks were flailing all over there backs, they didn't have time to really secure it super close to their backs after relaxing for a few minutes. That was bad on their part.

They had no sense of direction but just kept running away from the gas station as fast as possible to get away from whatever this thing was that was following them. The creature let out horrifying frequencies that would go from that of a bass to similar to a Clicker. Whatever it was doing, Chris and Rachel seemed to believe it was communicating with the other Clickers.

They finally reached the steps of the bank building and could see the huge creature barreling towards them but what was now a couple of hundred meters away. It was picking up its own infected and hurling them towards Rachel and Chris. As the Clickers hit the ground, they exploded into a mess of spores and disgusting, foul flesh followed by a shriek as the suffering thing died upon impact from the force.

This was absolutely bad. Chris was doing the best he could to make sure he was leading the two of them into the bank. Rachel was mainly focused on shooting the mammoth whatever it is, in the head as many times as possible but it didn't seem to do any affect as it just kept coming.

"Hurry! Up the steps to the top floor!" Chris yelled to Rachel as they went to the top floor of the bank, running up the steps as fast as possible.

Rachel slipped on the stair and had to catch herself. "Man, this is so insane, I would have never expected to run into these things. I thought the bombings would have taken care of these but I guess not." She said to Chris.

"No, it looks like they are definitely still alive and well. Well, I don't think alive is really the word for it but you know what I mean." Chris kinda laughed to himself.

They reached the top and faced the entrance of the bank and was able to see the huge massive marble door from the second floor with the very much open layout.

Chris began pulling out grenades from his backpack. "Well this was for emergencies but I guess this will be the right time for them." He smiled to Rachel and got a smile back.

"We got this." Rachel said to Chris but she wasn't exactly sure herself and Chris even noticed the uncertainty in her voice.

The earth shattering footsteps got closer and closer. They readied their weapons and were ready to kill anything once it came in through those doors.

Suddenly the doors exploded open, sending chunks of marble everywhere as the creature bellowed a horrifying tone that seemed to shake the building.

Rachel and Chris opened fire and gave it everything they had. Explosions and smoke was everywhere, bullets were flying at the monster as fast as they possibly could. The explosions and the smoke grenades were really disorienting the creature and it began hurling its own towards Rachel and Chris but they just kept firing. Several made it close to them but the big guy was so messed up he was hitting the railing and even the ceiling and the sides around him.

Finally Chris got to his most fearful moment. He had ran out of ammo in his guns and grabbed Rachel's other gun and found out there was nothing left in it either. They both looked at each other and there was one last thing they had, Rachel's bow.

Rachel quickly grabbed her bow and strung a home-made time bomb around it as fast as she could. Chris threw the last smoke bomb down there to give them some time.

Rachel readied her bow and waited for the smoke to clear just enough so she could get a clear shot at its torso for the best impact.

"Take the shot!" Chris yelled.

"Not yet!"

"I need a better shot!"

"You have a bomb on that thing! We don't have time!"

"Wait for it!"

"We can't! Do it now!"

"Now?"

"NOW!" Chris yelled as loud as he could.

Rachel shot the arrow and it hit the creature in the center of what was its torso and sank deep inside.

The monster let out a sound of confusion and surprise.

"3... 2... 1..." Chris counted down.

KABOOM! The monster absolutely exploded from its torso and the rest of its body went flying in all directions, sending huge chunks of mass into parts of the building and destroying several pillars in the bank. It finally let out one last shriek that shook the entire building and then even the other parts of its body exploded as well as the other Clickers that were left with it.

Such a force made the building start to shake and the ceiling was beginning to crumble and pieces began to fall. The building seemed like it was going down.

Chris had no time to react. Just then all of the supports caved in and sent a shockwave through the rest of the building knocking over everything. He jumped over Rachel and covered her with his body as bookshelves began to fall all over the place.

Finally the entire ceiling caved in and was fell on top of the two of them...

Rachel blacked out.
