Tears of an Angel

Chapter 6 – Blaze

Amy`s P.O.V 8:00 P.M At home –

"Alright. See you tomorrow at school Cream!" I waved goodbye to her as she waved and started to walk back down the pathway that lead to the sidewalk.

"Bye Amy! Goodnight!" she said before she waved back and continued walking.

I watched her through the screen door before she turned the corner. I just remembered something and called out to her.

"Wait! Cream!"

Cream stopped and walked back to the front of my house. "Yes? What's wrong Amy?" she asked.

I ran out the door forgetting about closing it and towards Cream.

"Cream…" I said grabbing her hands.

She looked at me raising her eyebrows. "Amy? Are you really okay? You're acting weird." Cream said.

I shook my head and replied. "I'm fine. I just wanted to say thank you."

She smiled softly. "Oh, Amy. You had me worried there. You can thank me later!"

I smiled back. "Okay!" I waved and let her leave this time for real.

I hurried back inside and closed the door shutting all of the cold winter air out.

I took off all my winter attire and put them in their right places.

"Amy? Is that you?" I heard my father say from upstairs.

As I walked up the steps I replied.

"Yeah, it's me."

"Welcome home. How was dinner with Cream?" he asked while following me to my room and leaning against the doorframe.

"It went okay. Me and Cream talked about a lot of things that's been on my mind. It actually feels good to let someone hear you out every once and a while." I said sitting on my bed.

"Well, I'm glad that at least you seem to be feeling a little better." he said smiling at me.

I smiled back and yawned. "Yeah. I think I'm going to bed now there's nothing else for me to do and I finished all my homework too."

"Okay." He said and kissed my forehead.

"Goodnight Amy. Love you."

"G'night. Love you too!" I said before he closed the door.

I changed into a pair of pajamas and laid down under my covers getting comfortable and looking up at the ceiling.

I learned something today about this whole situation that can refer to anyone at any time.

If you believe you can make a difference then you will make a difference. Believe in yourself, your family, and others around you and you will surely succeed.

I smiled. Cream taught me that. Hearing it from her makes me remember the time my mother told me that.

I was only in the fourth grade and we had a new student in our class. She was really quiet all the time and wasn't good at making friends at all.

She always looked sad and depressed too. Kinda like how I looked awhile back. It was difficult to talk to her and try to become friends with her so I asked my mother what to do.

Her advice helped me in so many ways than I could imagine.

And who knew that that new girl from fourth grade would be one of my bestest friends today.

Cream`s P.O.V 8:30 P.M On the bus –

Hopefully Amy got something out of dinner and what I told her.

Oh crap! I forgot I promised Blaze to call her after the dinner!

I pulled out my phone and called Blaze.

Ring!

Ring!

Ring!

"Hello?" Blaze said.

"Hello Blaze!" I said.

"Hey Cream. So, how did it go?"

"It went pretty well actually. Me and Amy talked about what's been on her mind and about getting her back to her old self. I just hope what I told her opened her eyes a little bit."

"Oh? What did you tell her?"

"I told her that if she believes in herself she can do anything but she also has to believe in those around her like her father and us too."

"I think that's a good start actually to boosting up her confidence Cream. Good thinking."

"Yeah thanks. All that's left is you and the others to get through to her. I really do hope this works."

"Yeah, me too. I actually have a good idea on where to take her."

"Oh really? Where to?"

"I promise to tell you later okay?"

"Aw! Why not tell me now?" I pouted even though she couldn't see it.

"Just wait until tomorrow okay Cream?"

"Okay fine… I have to go anyways. The bus is close to my stop."

"Alright, see you at school."

"See ya!" I said before she hung up.

I sighed and stood up as the bus pulled to a stop in front of the bus stop.

I got off the bus and continued walking to my home.

I hope in the end this all works out.

Blaze`s P.O.V Tuesday, January 20 5:00 P.M At home –

I finished checking the answers to my Algebra II homework and closed my book.

I told Cream where I was going to take Amy and she immediately agreed with the idea.

It was many years ago that I first moved to Station Square. I wasn't too excited to move to Station Square at all and I definitely wasn't good at making friends.

In just one day that had all changed.

Flashback No one`s P.O.V 8 years ago Station Square Elementary School 9:00 A.M –

"Good morning class." said a brown female hedgehog named Mrs. Hedgehog as she got the attention of her fourth grade students.

"Good morning Mrs. Hedgehog!" her students say back.

"We have a new transfer student that just moved here all the way from Emerald Coast! Come on in sweetie." Mrs. Hedgehog said before a purple young female cat with fiery orange eyes walked in the classroom.

"Now why don't you introduce yourself to the class?"

"Hello. My name is Blaze the cat. It's nice to meet you." the girl, Blaze, said and bowed her head as a greeting to the other students.

"Hello—Hi—Hey!" The other students, including a young Amy, Tails, Cream, and Silver said.

"Why don't you sit in front of Amy there in the second row so we can start class hm?" Mrs. Hedgehog asked politely before Blaze nodded and took her seat.

Time flew by as lunch was over. Now it was time for recess and the students rushed out the backdoor to the playground and black top to start playing with their friends.

The boys played sports like basketball or football or at least try to play it. Meanwhile the girls either played hopscotch, hula-hooping, jump-roping, tag, or gossip about how cutes the boys were or which of the girls they don't like.

Amy, Tails, Cream, and Silver where all happily playing tag with each other before Cream suddenly stopped running and looked towards the steps.

"Hey guys isn't that the new girl over there?" Cream asked pointing before the others turned to look to where she was pointing.

"Oh yeah! Her name was Blaze wasn't it?" Tails said.

"Yeah, I think so." Silver said. "She looks lonely…"

"Yeah, she does... I think I'm going to go talk to her. Maybe she needs a friend or something." Amy said and walked over to her.

"Amy wait!" Cream said but she was already gone.

Amy found Blaze sitting on the steps reading her book quietly.

"Hi. Your name's Blaze right?" Amy said catching the girls' attention.

"Yes, it is. Is there something you wanted?" Blaze said looking up at Amy.

"Well you looked lonely sitting over here by yourself. I was wondering if you wanted to be my friend?" Amy asked holding her hand out to her.

Blaze looked at the strange girl in front of her back and forth from hand to smiling face. She didn't need a friend or anyone for that matter. So, she shook her head no.

"No, I'm fine by myself. I don't need any friends." Blaze said to Amy and went back to reading her book.

Amy`s smile vanished into a small frown as she lowered her hand.

"Oh… Are you sure? Everyone needs a friend." Amy said hoping that the girl would agree.

"Everyone else maybe but not me." Blaze said keeping her eyes on her book.

Amy`s ears lowered in disappointment before she left the girl alone to her book.

Amy walked back to her friends who patiently waited for her near the playground.

"So, what happened?" Cream asked.

"Well she told me that she didn't need a friend at all. But I know deep down that she really wants one. So, I'm going to keep trying!" Amy said confidently.

"That's the spirit Amy!" Tails said.

"Yeah!" Cream and Silver agreed.

And with that it was time to go back in as recess was over and the school day was coming to a close.

After school at home after Amy finished her homework she asked her mother if she could go with Cream and her friends to the playground down the street. She said yes but with an exception:

"As long as someone watches you and your home by dinner." her mother said.

Amy already knew that because she went to the playground almost every day with her friends and Miss Vanilla, Cream`s mother.

Miss Vanilla and the others soon arrived at Amy`s house to come get her and then then they all walked to the playground together. Only when they got to the playground there was a newcomer. It was Blaze!

Amy and the others were very surprised. Blaze sat on the swing set all alone looking at the ground while other children ran around and played amongst themselves. She looked so sad and Amy knew what she had to do.

Amy told the others that this was her second chance at becoming friends with Blaze and they all wished her luck before she walked over to her.

"Hey Blaze. Why are you sitting alone?" Amy asked.

Blaze looked up at Amy. "Oh, it's you again. And I told you that I don't need any friends so that's why I'm enjoying swinging on this swing by myself."

"Are you really enjoying yourself Blaze?" Amy asked before Blaze stopped swinging and looked to the ground.

"I bet you'd like a friend right about now huh?" Amy asked smiling and putting her hand out for Blaze to take.

Blaze teared up and took Amy`s hand. "Thank you. Amy right?" Blaze asked."

"Yeah and no problem that's what friends are for." Amy smiled and dragged her over to the others to play.

End Flashback Amy`s P.O.V 6:45 P.M –

I was currently walking with Blaze to where she decided to take me.

I don't have any idea at all as to where she is taking me but she said that I would like it. We walked a few more steps and my eyes widened immediately as childhood memories came flushing back to me. It was the playground that we all basically grew up in!

I turned to Blaze and teared up.

"Oh my god, Blaze!" I cried out hugging her and she hugged back.

"You have friends to help you up when you are down and you did that for me already. Now it's my turn to help you back up. So, just for tonight let's be kids again! Also, do you wanna build a snowman?" Blaze said smiling at me.

"Oh my god yes hell yes!" I said before me and Blaze built the best snowman ever!
