[ I don't even know you!] whirred Bumblebee, ducking yet another shot from the strange Decepticon.

"Bumblebot liezzzz" Waspinator shrieked taking aim and blasting again. Bumblebee again tried to use his busted com-link to contact base or one of the other Autobots searching New York, but to no avail. How did it all go so wrong? He wondered as he hunkered down behind an abandoned building.

000000000000000 Several hours ago…

Bumblebee, Wheeljack, Bulkhead, and Ultra Magnus exited the ground bridge and entered the abandoned alleyway in vehicle mode.

"We will split up to avoid drawing unnecessary attention. If this Decepticon is found, drive it away from the humans, contact the others immediately, and no matter what do not blow our cover."

That was how Bumblebee had found himself driving in the horrendous New York traffic for past five hours. Searching for a Decepticon that might not even still be in the city and then, shortly after think that for what could have been the millionth, time he turned a corner onto a far less busy street. Whereupon he found himself face to face with the twisted, smoking, corpse of what must have once been a bright yellow car… and the Decepticon. Giant purple optics snapped away from the wreck and instantly focused on him.

"Buummbllebot…" he was looking for something it seemed, what Bumblebee had no idea. For an instant the bot's optics widened before narrowing into a look of pure rage.

"Bumblebot!" the Decepticon's voice shook with anger as he fired, "Wazzpinator will slag you!" In that moment before the shot struck, Bumblebee came back to his senses. Revving his engine as he activated his comlink he swerved just in time for most of the blast to miss. He immediately relayed his coordinates and the situation to the others before deactivating his comlink and racing away from the hubbub of the area he had just left.

Ultra Magnus had been wondering something when Bumblebee had given the alert. Why were there never any humans harmed? He had decided it best to do a little research before the mission, and in all of the attacks he had discovered no one was ever hurt. There were a multitude of cars painted the same shade, or at least a similar shade, of yellow as Bumblebee all over the city and yet not one human had been injured. It didn't make any sense, unless, unless… Scrap! This 'Con might be crazy, but he's smart enough to check for a driver!

"Bumblebee come in." static. He checked for his signal. Scrap! Something's interfering with his comlink and his signal. He'd just have to go the coordinates Bumblebee had sent and hope for the best.

Of all the impossible things that had happened to him why couldn't there be a way for him to get there faster! Prowl revved his engine in frustration as he continued to drive through the cars on the New York street. He didn't know how he knew, but he knew; he was running out of time.

000000000000000

Driving wildly, careening down side streets, tires screeching at every turn Bumblebee knew there was no may he stood a chance under the relentless hail of attacks by Waspinator unless he find somewhere to change to robot mode. While most definitely insane, Waspinator was also very angry, determined and an excellent shot. He nearly exclaimed in relief when he saw the abandoned lot in the dilapidated and near abandoned part of the city. He would just have to hope there were no humans around to see him.

That was how he found himself here, pinned down, with a busted comlink, and no chance of backup. Deciding to aim a blaster around the rubble, as he had so many times before; he fired. His shot was dead on, blasting a sizable hole in Waspinator's armor, which only served to make him angrier as the wound instantly began to heal.

"Where izzz BUMBLEBOT!" More shots were fired, and the air crackled with energy. Waspinator came around the building blasters ready to fire. He was scrapped, so very, very scrapped. Waspinator fired… and missed. With a metallic clang a small glowing blue object imbedded itself in Waspinator's side knocking his attack off course.

Irritated he swiped at the object. Only to have his servo pass right through it. He growled in irritation; this thing could touch him and he couldn't touch it! Maybe he could blast it?...

So preoccupied was Waspinator with removing the object that he missed the bot who had thrown it. Bumblebee didn't. The bot crouched in the shadows, not that that did any good. He glowed a strangely familiar bright blue, lighting up the shadow with his presence. His features were blurry at best, and something told him that this was not your average bot. The only discernable thing about him was the Autobot insignia on his chest. He noticed Bumblebee staring and gave a slight nod, as if to "I got this". He leaped out of hiding and landed a solid punch to the face of the still preoccupied Waspinator.

"AUTOBOT! Why won't Autobots just leave Wazzpinator alone!" The answer was pretty obvious to Bumblebee. The Decepticon landed a vicious blow to his much smaller opponent. It wasn't until just then that he had noticed just how small the Autobot was. There was no sound, and Bumblebee worried that his unexpected rescuer had been offlined. However, he got up, unharmed, and with a soundless battle cry launched himself once again at Waspinator. As they continued to attack each other the Autobot turned and fixed him with a piercing glare.

Even though he couldn't clearly see his face and heard none of the words that were spoken the message was clear: go and don't look back. And though he hated what he was doing Bumblebee transformed to vehicle mode and ran.

By the time he made it back to his previously sent coordinates, Wheeljack, Bulkhead, and Ultra Magnus were, not that they would ever admit it, extremely distressed and had been for quite some time. They were all greatly relieved when Bumblebee drove down the street. Relaying his story as quickly as possible they set off for the scene of the battle, the only evidence of anyone ever having been there the rampant destruction and numerous glowing blue throwing stars that they could not see.
