Ebonyeyez1: Thank you so much for your compliment. I am trying really hard to become a better writer. I have a ways to go as I am not quite where I want to be but I hope to continue to improve as I keep writing. Your review that this was one of my best stories made my day as well as my son Steven as he was the one that pitched the idea to me and has even written a chapter. Thanks again!

Steven found Jax and Cortney curled up watching a movie and he hated to interrupt their day but before he could say anything Abel spilled the beans.

"Daddy I saw mommy at the park. When is she coming home?" He told him excitedly, as he climbed up in his lap. Jax and Cortney looked at Steven for an answer of Abel's obvious delusion. Steven's face held steadfast and did not give them any reason it was a joke.

"What is he talking about Steven?" Jax asked perplexed.

Steven pulled out the number from his jean pockets and handed it to Jax.

"I don't know how else to say it. A woman who looks like your wife," Cortney winced a little when Steven said wife. "came to me at the park and asked me to give you this number."

"What?!" Jax could not believe what Steven was saying. "It has to be some joke."

"I don't know Jax. She looks like the woman in the pictures at your house and Abel knew instantly who she was. The only thing that looked different on her was she had dyed her hair blonde."

Cortney looked at Jax and his face started to turn red as he processed what Steven had just told him.

"Someone is playing a sick joke and they are messing with my boys. I need to find out what the hell is going on!" Jax said through gritted teeth as he looked at the phone number on the piece of paper. Jax handed Abel off his lap to Cortney.

"I'm going to get to the bottom of this." Jax got up, pulled his phone out and headed out to the back patio. Cortney looked up at Steven and watched him in silence as he put Thomas in his playpen.

It took all of Cortney's will power not to stand by the patio door to listen to Jax's conversation. It had to be some sick joke. How else could it be explained?

"You alright mom?" Steven asked sitting next to her on the couch. She started to bounce her right leg up and down rapidly and he knew it was something she did when she was worried or nervous.

"It can't be her….could it?" Cortney looked at her son for an answer. Steven shook his head.

"I don't know mom." He did not want to tell her but in his gut he thinks it is Jax's wife. When Jax walked back into the house, they received their answer. Cortney gasped when she saw Jax's pale face.

"It's her?" she asked hoarsely. Jax could not form words. He just nodded his head in conformation.

"How?" Cortney choked as blood rushed to her head and she felt her heart pound faster. Jax's wife was alive and that meant he was technically still married. Cortney slumped back into the couch as all her energy left her body.

"I have to go meet her now and find out what the hell is going on." Cortney could see Jax was shaking.

"You need me to come?" Steven asked.

"No. I have to go alone. I shouldn't be long." Jax leaned over, gave Cortney a quick kiss on her forehead, and headed out the door.

Jax's emotions were all over the place. When he heard Tara's voice on the other end of the phone, he felt intense nausea and almost doubled over to vomit. He thought she was dead for almost a year and now here he was holding a conversation with her. When the nausea subsided, relief flooded him as processed that his wife was alive, the mother of his boys was alive. Then anger emerged. How could she let them think she was dead? How could she leave him and her sons? Dread replaced anger as he realized the only reason she would fake her own death…..she had turned on the club and their associates they did business with. They must have one hell of a case to fake her death.

Jax pulled up to a rundown motel and knocked on the room number she gave him. The door slowly opened and Jax stepped back in shock. It was her…it was Tara.

"Tara?" Tara grabbed Jax's arm, pulled him into the dingy motel room and pulled into a tight hug. Jax hugged her back as tears sprung to his eyes.

"Oh my God! I can't believe it's you." He grabbed her face and planted a fervent kiss on her waiting lips. After a few moments lost in her familiar taste and scent Jax pulled back to clear his head.

"What did you do Tara?"

Tara motioned for Jax to sit on the bed next to her.

"I'm sorry Jax." She began as he sat next to her. "The FBI are building a case against the IRA and I was going to testify of the Sons involvement." Tears streamed down her face.

"What?!" Jax jumped up from the bed a stabbing pain pierced his heart. She betrayed him and the club.

"I'm sorry Jax. I didn't want this life for me or the boys. It just became too much with the chaos, the violence, and the murders. Do you want this life for your sons?"

Jax looked down at Tara his face grimaced with pain.

"You left the boys?"

"I couldn't take them with me initially but they had promise to bring them to me once I testified and the Sons were disbanded."

"How could you?!" Jax shouted as the wave of nausea returned.

"I didn't testify. I couldn't do it. I love you too much." Tara whispered the last as tears continued down her face.

"They are not just going to let you go Tara…..they went to great lengths to secure your testimony. My God, they faked your death. I thought you died a painful death as the body was so disfigured from the fire that engulfed your car. Do you have any idea what the boys and I been through? We buried you."

"I know…I know Jax….I'm so sorry. If I could take it all back, I would. I would have never let that FBI agent get into my head and twist everything around. I would have given you the chance to earn straight like you wanted."

Jax paced the small motel room.

"What am I supposed to do now Tara? Do you think it can just go back to normal like nothing happen? Everyone thinks you are dead including the club. I don't know if I can protect you from them."

"I didn't rat Jax…doesn't that count for something?" Tara jumped up from the bed and grabbed Jax's hand.

"You had to have provided something Tara. They would not have gone through with what they did for you just on your word. What did you give them?"

Jax pushed her hand away and Tara stepped back from Jax as she could feel his anger.

"I gave them the bullet I pulled out of Bobby the day you killed Clay and Galen."

"Jesus Christ!"

"I denied everything before I left. I told them that a prospect accidently shot Bobby while cleaning his gun." Tara knew the FBI knew she was lying but they had nothing without her testimony. She figured they will not give up easily and will no doubt come for her.

Jax ran his fingers through his hair in frustration. What the hell was he going to do? The club and his mom will want Tara's head on a silver platter. How was he going to save the mother of his children from a real death?

"Did you give them anything else?" Jax asked as he tried to figure out what he was going to tell the club.

"That's it…I promise. They have nothing without me Jax."

"I have to talk to the club." Jax sighed as he thought of the daunting task before him.

"Do you forgive me Jax?" she asked slowly taking steps closer to him. Jax looked at his wife. She looked so tired and distraught. He found his fingers pulling at her dull and fizzy blonde hair.

"I can't think about that right now Tara. I have to figure out a way to keep you alive."

"Do you still love me Jax?"

"Yes Tara I still love you and will always love you. I just don't understand why you didn't come to me. I told you I was going to go legit for our family."

"Have you gone legit Jax?"

"No not yet. I have been working on it." He lied. In honesty, after she had "died" he threw himself into the club and the idea of going legit died with her.

"Let's just take the boys and leave. Just the four of us…leave all this behind." Tara wrapped her arms around Jax waist. Jax ran his fingers through Tara's hair and looked in her beautiful eyes. He missed and loved her so much but he could not do what she was asking.

"Tara you know I can't just leave the club. It's not that simple. You know better than to ask me that."

Tara hugged Jax tighter.

"I just want us to be together." She whispered as she buried her nose in his neck. Shivers coursed through Jax's body as she planted light kisses on his neck and made her way up to his lips. As she parted his lips with her tongue all Jax could think about was that his wife was back. Tara was back and she was right here in his arms. There were so many nights he prayed just to hold her again and here she was. Jax picked Tara up, placed her on the bed, and tore off his clothes as Tara quickly rid herself of her clothes. Jax moaned as he found Tara's mouth again and his hands felt the familiar curves of her body he missed so much. Jax spread Tara's legs wide to receive him.

"My God I've missed you." He groaned as he plunged into her.

Jax sighed with relief when he saw the house was dark when he pulled up to Cortney's. He had fallen asleep in Tara's arms and did not wake up until after midnight. He quietly tiptoed in the house up the stairs and checked on the boys and then Steven who were all fast asleep. He sighed deeply as he opened the door to Cortney's bedroom. He found her on her side fast asleep. Thank God he thought as he needed to take a shower. He knew he would smell of Tara and sex and he did not want Cortney to find out just yet, as he had no idea what he was going to do. As the warm water cascaded on Jax, he thought of what he was going to say to the club to save Tara's life, what he was going to tell Cortney if Tara stayed in Charming. He knew she wanted to be back in their lives and to be honest he wanted her 's heart would be shattered and he knew things were going to change in their relationship but he had always thought it would be because of Steven prospecting. Not his wife returning from the "dead".

Jax crawled in the bed next to Cortney, leaned over and planted a kiss on her cheek. He could not have asked for a better woman than Cortney to come along after Tara's "death". She had taken care of his boys without any hesitation and has been there for him. He truly cared for her and no doubt was on his way to fallen in love with her. Unfortunately, a cosmic shift had happen today and things would not be the same.

"I'm sorry Cort." He whispered to her as he softly rubbed her cheek and kissed her again. As Jax laid back in the bed and snuggled up to her a tear rolled down Cortney's cheek. She was pretending to be a sleep when she heard Jax come into the house. As soon as Jax walked back into the house from his phone call to Tara, she knew it was over by the look on his face. Why would he not go back to his wife who was miraculously alive? As they day went into night without a word from him she knew he was with her and more than likely slept with her. She did not want to confront him when he got home. She just wanted one more night in his arms. As she turned around in the bed to face him Jax pulled her into his arms. Cortney laid her head on his chest and listen to his heartbeat and breathing. Just one more night she thought as she held him tight.
