I hope this update finds everyone well. I would recommend going back and reading the last half of chapter 19 as I changed the ending. I am trying to stay in canon for the most part with this particular story with season seven and recently watching an episode from the last season I realize I wasn't so I tweaked a few things in the last chapter to hopefully stay on course. Even though it is some canon be assured Cortney and Steven's presence in Jax's life might not have him go down the same path as he did in the last episode…..might not…..smiles…hope you enjoy.

Blended Chapter 20

"What we got?" Jax asked heading back to the shallow gravesite.

"This is him."Joseph announced after a few minutes of digging. Joseph wiped dirt off the dead man's face. He tried to hold his breath but could not for long and had to eventually smell the decay of dead bodies.

"Man that is nasty!" Jax laughed as he got a whiff of decaying body.

"Phone is in his pocket." Tig told Joseph. Joseph looked at Tig as if he lost his damn mind.

"Come on Joseph get his fuckin phone." Tig barked at him.

"Fuck! This is probably making you hard." Joseph said as he leaned over to dig in the dead man's pocket.

"What you say grunt?!" Tig snapped. Jax smiled as he heard exactly what Joseph said.

"I said this is going to be hard." Joseph lied. Joseph pulled out two cell phones from the dead preacher's pants pocket and handed them to Jax.

"Dammit….they're wet." He said flipping the phones over and looking at them.

"We can charge them up and see if we can salvage anything." Tig said taking both phones and wiping them on his pants.

"Alright…..I'm going to stop by Diosa. Let me know s soon as you find something. I will see you guys later." Jax said before heading out the woods.

Gemma grabbed the bags from Steven and gave him a tight hug.

"Thank you sweetheart." She said before planting a quick kiss on his lips. "You are a life saver."

"Were you able to get mom on the list at Abel's preschool?" Steven asked looking around the new massage room Gemma was working on.

"Yes I did." Gemma smiled at how pissed Cortney was when she called Gemma a few days ago. Gemma liked that fire Cortney had when it came to the boys. "Everything is taken care of. You are even on the list to pick him up and to contact for emergencies."

Steven nodded and looked out the window to the lounge area and saw Jax walk in.

"Oh shit!" How the hell he get to Diosa's so fast. He just left him out in Chigger Woods. Steven did not want Jax knowing he was at Diosa's.

"What baby?" Gemma looked in the direction Steven was looking at.

"You are here to see me. Nothing to be alarmed about." She told him as she grabbed and squeezed his hand quickly.

Steven saw Jax stop in his tracks and look at a tall blonde across the room.

"Who is that?" he asked Gemma. Gemma looked at Colette.

"No one important. Don't worry Jax is all about your mom and no one else. She is just past history. "

"Steven….my God….what are you doing here? I thought you were going home?" Jax asked exasperated entering the room.

"When did I say that? I told you I had some stuff for your mom."

"Go home like I told you and don't forget to tell your mom I will be home to tuck the boys in." Jax snapped. Jax was very irritated and had a lot on his mind. He did not need Steven around getting in the way as he promised Cort he would not let him get involved in club business. If Steven wanted to hang out Jax would make sure it was when the club did not have serious business to handle.

"I aint telling her shit cause you know damn well you won't be home to tuck your sons in. I'm not going to see another look of disappointment on my mom's face because of you."

This little prick!

Gemma pulled Jax back before he could get up into Steven's face.

"Who the fuck you think you talking to like that? You better lower that base in your voice boy!" Jax snapped his voice getting loud.

"Boys!" Gemma warned.

"I'm leaving. You might want to hang some drapes up. It would drown out all the noise of all the men nuttin up in here." Steven said before he walked out. Gemma held onto Jax tighter as he was about to go after Steven.

"Don't even Jax. You were eighteen once and a smart ass and as I recall nowhere near as sweet as he is. Steven is a good boy. Leave him alone." Gemma told him as she caressed his face to calm him down. Jax nodded trying to control his anger. She was right and to be honest the way his day was going Steven was right. He probably won't see his boys before bed tonight. However, Jax did not like the tone Steven was taking with him the past couple of days. He figured it was just teenage hormones but there was a thin line from being a bratty teen to straight disrespect. Jax sighed as he thought of how he would have to go through the teen to manhood years with his two boys.

"You good sweetheart?" Gemma asked her son. Jax nodded.

"I'm fine ma. Who took Abel to school earlier you or Cort?"

"Cortney did. Why don't you know this?"

"We've been missing each other the past couple of days. She and the boys are gone when I get up." Jax sighed as he leaned back on the massage table.

"Looks like you need to get your ass up earlier to see your family." Gemma scolded.

"I know…I know."

"Thomas is with Brooke today as Elliott needed her at work today. She was so upset leaving Thomas with Brooke at my house. I told her Brooke could be trusted. I think she will still leave early just to pick him up early."

Jax smiled. That sounded like Cort.

"Nero around?" Jax asked.

"He will be back in a couple of hours according to Colette. Jax you don't plan on hitting that again are you?"

Jax face grimaced with the thought.

"No mom."

"Cortney is a good woman. Don't lose that Jax. You won't ever find another woman like her again."

"I know mom." Jax knew he would never find a woman like Cortney again in his lifetime. Even though he had been coming home late, she always had dinner waiting for him and breakfast for him when he woke up. All he had to do was heat it up in the microwave. She even had his clothes clean for him every day. He didn't know how she did it. Provide for his boys, her son and still make sure he was taken care of.

Jax pushed himself off the massage table and hugged his mom. "Do you know when Cort's birthday is?"

Gemma smiled, as she knew Jax had no idea Cortney's birthday was in a few days.

"Yes I know it…why?" she asked teasing him.

"Steven would not tell me. When is it? It's got to be soon because Steven had brought her gifts."

"Yes it is very soon. How could you not know her birthday?" Gemma shook her head in fake disappointment.

"When is it mom? Come on I need to get her something. I can't be in the dog house. I'm trying to make it right with her."

"It's in three days Jackson. Material things are nice but nothing will take the place of your love for her. You make sure she is fully aware of your love."

"She knows mom. I'm heading to Red Woody. When you see Nero tell him Juice is still around."

The flashback of Tara's murder at her hands flashed through Gemma's mind. Jax did not know that she had Juice hidden at Wendy's apartment since Wendy was at rehab for the next thirty days.

"Wh….Why would Nero need to know about Juice?" she asked nervously.

"Just tell him mom." Jax leaned over and kissed his mom's cheek. "Tell him to call me for details."

On the way out the door Colette pulled Jax into a hug and gave her sympathies for Tara.

"Thank you Colette for helping out here." He told her as he kissed her soft cheek.

Gemma watched their exchange and walked up to Colette once Jax left. Colette went to the bar and pulled a bottle of Patron and a glass to take a shot.

Gemma sat on the stool next to Colette.

"You need to be careful with him." Gemma stated.

"Don't worry mom we are just friends." Colette said before taking her shot to the head.

"I would hope so. He already has someone."

The look on Colette's face brought a small bit of joy to Gemma.

"Already? His wife just died?"

"As you know Tara was presume dead before she actually died. He was with someone during the time he thought Tara was dead. She has taken on him and his boys…..and trust me sweetheart I will not let you get in the way of that." Gemma told Colette coldly. Colette sighed as she was not about to argue with Mama Teller. Colette did not respond to Gemma, poured another drink and went to greet a customer.

Jax parked his bike in an empty parking space at Oswald Construction. While the guys were working on salvaging info from the dead preacher's cell phones he wanted to see Cortney and then stop and see Abel and then Thomas. He knew about the time he arrives home tonight they all would be sleep.

"Ms. Holmes there is a Mr. Teller here to see you." The receptionist said into the phone as she undressed Jax with her eyes. Jax gave her one of his fake smiles when she told him to go ahead back straight to Cortney's office the first door to the right. Cortney's office door opened and Elliott greeted Jax.

"Hey Jax! Come on in." Elliott stepped aside to let Jax in. "I'm sorry about Tara. Must be tough to have to go through that pain again and this time it be for real."

Cortney cringed a little at Elliott's choice of words. He did not have to bring up Tara's fake death.

"Thanks Elliott." Jax shook his hand as Elliott walked out the office to give them privacy.

"Is everything ok? The boys?" Cortney got up from behind her desk and walked up to Jax. Jax could not remember if he had ever seen Cortney dressed up for her corporate job. He was sure if he had in the past he would remember because she looked stunning in her form fitting business pants suit.

"Everyone is fine. I just wanted to see you." He told her as he planted a light kiss on her lips. Cortney smiled with relief.

"This is a nice surprise." She said rubbing her hands through his hair.

"We keep missing each other at the house. I'm sorry for the late hours. Looks like tonight might be another late one."

"I know you are busy. It's fine." Cortney whispered the last as it was not fine. She missed him and Jax saw right through it.

"No it's not fine. I promise to make it up to you and the boys as soon as things settle down." Jax wrapped his arms around her waist, pulled her closer to him and slowly opened her mouth with his tongue. Cortney melted in his arms as Jax slowly explored her mouth with his tongue. It was driving Cortney mad as he took his time and savored her. Every time she would try to hasten or deepen the kiss, Jax would pull away and lightly brush her lips with his.

"Jax…stop teasing me." She said breathlessly. Jax smiled against her lips as his fingers searched for her the buttons or zipper at the front of her pants.

"I'm not teasing you." He whispered against her lips as he pushed her up against her desk, found the buttons to the front of her pants, quickly unbuttoned them and plunged two fingers in her before she could protest. She was already wet, Jax had to hold back a moan at how good she felt around his fingers, and he could not wait until she was wrapped around his cock. Cortney head fell back as his fingers worked her and Jax took the opportunity to devour her neck as his arm around her waist pulled her closer. Jax felt so good and Cortney knew that second she was not going to hold out on him anymore. He was just too damn sexy and he knew exactly how to make her body sing. The next time they make love he could have her any which way he wanted her. "That's my girl." Jax murmured against her neck as he felt her clench his fingers. She was there and he bit down her neck, as he always loved to do when she came. God did he miss her!

Jax held her tight as she rode out her wave.

"I love you so much." He whispered against her neck.

"I love you too."

Jax phone rung startling them both and Cortney frowned with disappointment when Jax pulled his fingers from her to answer it.

"Here wipe your hands." She said grabbing a tissue from the tissue box from her desk. Jax chuckled as he quickly wiped his hand and grabbed his phone out of his pocket.

"You got to get over here brother. You will not believe what we salvage from the preachers phone." Chibs told Jax.

"Alright I'm on my way." Jax snapped the phone shut and watched Cortney for a second as she button up her pants and tried to make herself presentable like she did not just have an intense orgasm a few seconds ago.

"I gotta go babe…Wake me up before you get out of bed tomorrow morning….ok?" He told her as quickly kissed her lips.

"Ok." She smiled as she watched him walk out her office.
