After a minor breakdown, I'm hoping to update sporadically from now on. It's my final year of University so I've been horrifically busy, and my health deteriorated. I officially finish my Undergraduate course on June 2nd so I'm planning to get as much written after then as I can! Here's another chapter for you all! Sorry that these chapters have been so short and unexciting! Hopefully this one will be a bit better; I've tried to give it a bit more length and substance.

A big thank you to you all, you've all been so supportive! A special thank you to bgjk5272, mjentrn, 98Agent, felicity18 and Little Debbie 56 – I appreciate your kind words of support!

As always, I own nothing but my OCs!

Constructive criticism and reviews are very welcome!

Emilia had always held the belief that there was always calm before the storm. She thought her storm had passed; it had, only to be replaced with never-ending dark storm clouds hovering above her. The blessing of working with Sue and the team had passed, seven months passed to be precise. The team had tried as hard as they could to find Agent Jones' killer, and were inundated with concerned messages from Mr and Mrs Fields, desperate to know if Mrs Fields was still in danger. They tried their hardest to find any evidence, any clues, but every time they felt like they were close to something like success it was snatched from within their grasp. After an exasperating few weeks work Garrett had to break the news to Agent Peyton and the rest of the team that the case was no longer top priority and would be transferred to another unit. Emilia's transfer followed.

Since then Emilia had very little contact with the team, other than the occasional visit from team members outside of the office. Every day she went to the Hoover Building and no progress had been made she felt a little bit of her die. Any unsolved case was difficult for agents, but when it includes one of your own it becomes so much more upsetting.

Emilia was bringing some paperwork to the administration office, distracted with other thoughts when she collided with someone, dropping all her paperwork to the floor. She scrambled to pick up the papers, but was met with a pair of hazel eyes staring back at her.

"Sue!" Emilia said, smiling and standing back up, brushing the dust off of her skirt.

"Emilia, it's been a while. How have you been?" Sue asked, passing the papers she had collected from the floor to Emilia, receiving a nod of appreciation in response.

"It has. I'm well," There was an awkward pause before Emilia continued, "How have you been? Lucy? Jack?"

Sue noticed a small twitch in the corner of Emilia's mouth when she mentioned Jack, and felt her cheeks begin to redden.

"Everyone is doing okay," Sue said, "It's actually Jack's birthday soon."

"What are you planning on getting for him?" Emilia asked, trying her best not to be suggestive, although her playful tone gave her away.

"I'm not sure yet," Sue mumbled, trying to fight the blush spreading across her face.

"Sue," Emilia said, her voice and features softening, as she squeezed Sue's hand, "Tell him. It'll be the greatest birthday gift he'll ever receive."

Sue was taken aback for a moment.

"I don't know wha-" Sue stopped herself before she could finish her sentence, knowing her voice would betray her.

"I better get these papers to admin," Emilia said, moving past her before turning back. "Just think about it, okay Sue?"

Sue wandered back to the bullpen, her mind replaying their conversation. She heard echoes from an earlier conversation whirling around her mind. If only I'd tried before, instead of putting it off because of bloody bureaucracy! Those stupid, stupid non fraternisation rules... Maybe Emilia was right. Before she managed to think about it anymore she felt a small tap on her shoulder, and looked up to see Lucy. She was needed.

A few hours passed by, and busy as she was, Sue didn't manage to dwell on the conversation with Emilia. When the working day came to an end Lucy beckoned her over, grinning from ear to ear.

"Have you heard?" Lucy chirped, her eyes bright with excitement.

"I haven't heard for a long time," Sue said, laughing at herself, "But carry on!"

After managing to roll her eyes, Lucy burst, unable to hold in the gossip she'd managed to catch from the whispers of the bullpen.

"One of our lovely boys has got a little lady they've been hiding away."

Sue felt her stomach drop, and her face must have betrayed her, as Lucy took her hand reassuringly.

"I got this information from Jack, so we can be sure he isn't hiding a girl in her closet."

Sue let out the breath she was holding before giving in to her curiosity. "Who? Bobby? Myles?"

They looked across at the men. Neither had noticed anything different about Bobby or Myles.

"Are you sure that this information is accurate?" Sue asked.

"When am I ever wrong?" Lucy said, smiling confidently.

"Wrong about what?" Tara said, moving closer to hear the conversation.

"Lucy thinks Myles or Bobby has a girl he's been hiding away." Sue told Tara.

"Oh, I didn't think anyone knew." Tara began before Lucy interrupted her with a squeal.

"So I was right?"

"Your information is outdated I'm afraid. Myles is the perpetual bachelor, but Bobby was seeing a girl for a while after he and Darcy split. But it was just a casual thing which fizzled out pretty quickly. I'm surprised Lucy, you're slacking." Tara said, trying to keep upbeat as she saw Lucy's face fall.

"Jackson sold me false goods." Lucy pouted.

"When did he tell you this?" Tara asked, chewing on one of her jelly snakes.

"Well, I was grilling him about…" A dawn of realisation fell upon her, "He mislead me!"

Sue smiled, watching as Lucy's brain whirred. Sue could almost see the cogs spinning in her brain.

"I was trying to squeeze information out of him and he distracted me with gossip, and false gossip at that! Shame on you Jackson..." Lucy whined.

"What did I do?"

All three women turned to meet Jack's gaze.

"Oh, you'd like to know wouldn't you Jackson! I'll get my revenge. Mark my words." Lucy said mocking anger.

Jack chuckled before continuing with what he came over to say.

"Are you all still free for tomorrow?"

He received an affirmative from all of the women, but noticed Sue open her mouth before closing it.

"Sue?"

"I was just thinking… We haven't seen Emilia in a while… maybe she'd like to meet us for the meal?"

"Of course, that'd be fine." Jack said, smiling at Sue. He knew that Sue worried about Emilia, and if having her at the meal would put Sue's mind at ease then he'd have no issue with another person at the table.

Sue had wanted to call ahead but Lucy was eager to surprise Emilia. Lucy was convinced that a surprise visit to persuade Emilia to accompany them to Jack's birthday meal that evening would be just what Emilia needed to see how much the team missed her. They climbed the staircase to her apartment, Lucy bearing the gift of a potted plant and Sue, the gift of companionship for Darcy and Bingley. As they approached Emilia's door they heard voices, and Sue looked to Lucy.

"Perhaps we should have called ahead." Sue said, regretting the decision to not let Emilia know they were coming over.

"I'm sure it'll be fine? Perhaps it's the television?" Lucy said, feigning confidence. "I suppose we should knock seeing as we came all this way."

Sue nodded before moving forward and knocking gently on the door. The women heard footsteps and the click of a lock and the door opened to reveal Emilia dressed for going out.

"Sue, Lucy, I didn't know you were popping over, please come in." Emilia said, moving to the side to let them enter.

"We're sorry, we didn't know you had plans or we would never have interrupted." Sue said as she entered the apartment, Lucy following with Levi at her side.

"We were going to surprise you with a dinner invitation but it looks like you already had one. Who's the lucky person?" Lucy asked, her eyes twinkling suggestively.

Hearing someone clear their throat they turned to see Myles sitting on Emilia's couch, with Bingley sat on his lap, and Darcy beside him.

"Myles," Lucy said, glancing between the two, "Well, I see you managed to be the one to deliver the surprise today."

"Well I called ahead, expecting that you had let Emilia know about Jack's little gathering and it turns out you had not. I apologize for ruining your surprise, although I would think that making sure someone is able to attend a meal before arriving to collect them would be prudent." Myles said, lifting the cat off of his lap and moving across the room to the group of people.

"Well, well, Myles, always the gentleman." Lucy said, rolling her eyes.

"Myles offered me a lift to the meal, my car is at the garage-I mean auto-shop, so I've been carpooling to work." Emilia explained as she reached for her coat.

"You should have let us know," Sue said, "We could collect you on the way to the Hoover building, it's right on our route."

"It's no problem; Myles has been collecting me on his way to work. We bumped into each other at Lolita café a few blocks away just after my car broke down and he offered his assistance."

"Well it was the least I could do." Myles said avoiding looking at Lucy, knowing a suggestive smile would be plastered on her face.

"Well, that was very kind," Sue said, noting Myles' avoidance of Lucy, "Perhaps we should get on our way to the restaurant, Jack and the others will be waiting."

"Of course, let me just grab my coat and purse." Emilia said, before quickly disappearing into her bedroom.

"Well, well Myles, you certainly kept this quiet." Lucy said, rocking back and forth on her feet, grinning like the Cheshire cat.

"It never came up" Myles curtly replied as Emilia returned from her room.

"Ready to go?"
