A.N: Hey everyone! Sorry it took so long for an update! Sad news :( I didn't pass my math class. The professor thought it would be helpful to grade not only your answer but your scrap paper... I work with chaos and had my paper filled with random problems I worked out in no particular order. For that I failed even if my answers were right... Ugh...
Anyways I have the next chapter ready I'm just reading over it. I should post more tonight if I get inspired and keep writing.
I hope you all enjoy! And also check out my tumblr account Fremione-seekers!
/~~~~ Chapter 8: Talk of Revolution~~~~~~~\\
Hermione straitened herself as they walked down the long set of stairs towards the kitchen. They were in a comfortable silence during the decent but Hermione couldn't help but wonder if Ron had told everyone what he had seen. Upon walking down the last set, a loud pop was heard and a huge smile spread across Fred's face like it was Christmas day.
"Have no fear everyone Charlie is here!" A loud booming voice called from the living room and Fred took Hermione's hand into his own and rushed down the steps faster.
"Who's that?" Hermione whispered and Fred just looked to her with that big smile.
"My big brother Charlie! You'll love him" Fred and her entered the sitting room to see a very built and tall red head standing there. He had on a black leather jacket, brown pants with burn parks on the knees, and necklace hung low around his neck with what looked like a large shark tooth at the end of it.
"Charlie!" Fred let go of Hermione and she watched as the two gave hugs and pats on the back that George suddenly appeared and took part in as well.
"Hey how are the troubling twosome?" Charlie pulled from the hug and began giving noogies to George who was in the headlock first before letting him go and doing it with Fred, and Fred let him as they laughed.
"Fantastic!" Fred was released and when he stood up his normally messy hair was sticking straight up and Hermione giggled at the sight.
Charlie looked over to her made an approving face as he nodded his head.
"Who's bird?" He looked to the twins and Geroge pointed to Fred while Fred pointed to himself as well.
"Well little lady, any friend of my brothers is a friend of mine" Charlie came right up to her and picked her up off the ground in a large, squeezing hug that left her squeaking and looking to a laughing Fred and George.
As her feet touched the ground she couldn't help but smell burnt char and smoke from Charlie's form. Her face squished up a bit and Charlie laughed knowing what is was.
"Sorry didn't have time to change before leaving. We found a bundle of baby dragons on a trader ship being sent to a collector in Bulgaria. I had to get them in the nesting area and they were a bit scared." He motioned to his burnt pants and even some hair that was singed on the side of his head.
"Dragons? You deal with Dragons?" Hermione's eyes grew wide.
"Yeah I know it's cool. With dragons being endangered now, no one can see them just anywhere anymore. They don't terrorize or hide in just any volcano. Maybe sometime Fred can bring you by and you can see one." Charlie said as if it were no big deal and inhaled the scent from the kitchen.
"Now if you'll excuse me I smell my mothers famous roast!" He shook his hand on her head, riffling her hair up and left for the kitchen to greet the rest of his family.
"Soo told you he'd love you!" Fred motioned for her to head to the kitchen.
Upon entering she noticed two new men in there that she had not met. One was an older man who was hunched over Molly's cooking smelling it with a big smile while the another younger yet seemed older then Fred stood by the table talking with William. When she entered Fred lead her to the older man who looked up to them with the same sweet smile.
"Dad this is Hermione, Hermione this is my father Arthur" Fred introduced them and Arthur quickly took her hand and began shaking it enthusiastically.
"Lovely to meet you Hermione! I hope you bright your appetite because my Molly's amazing cooking will fill you till you pop" Arthur released her hand and led her by the shoulder to the other man while Molly waved her hand and was blushing at the compliment.
"Hermione this is my son Percy! He works with me at the ministry. We just got here from work together" Arthur said proudly as the man turned from William and took her hand softly. Percy seemed very well soft spoken and well dressed like William, in his brown suit that resembled Arthur's own.
"It's a pleasure to meet you Hermione" Percy said in a soft voice with a sincere smile.
"Pleasure's all mine" Hermione replied and she noticed everyone quickly runing around grabbing seats and was drawn by the hand to a seat by Fred.
Molly began serving with the help of Fleur and Ron. They set down a large roast, mash potatoes, corn, salad, and peas. Hermione's stomach growled at how amazing it all looked. As Molly was setting down more drinks she looked confused to an empty seat.
"Fred didn't you say Luna would be joining us tonight?" She finally took her own seat and Arthur was loading a plate for her.
"Yeah she was taking some stuff back to her place. Maybe she had a Quibbler emergency?" George answered for them as he loaded potatoes onto his plate.
"Oh speaking of which, Hermione, George tells me you work with Luna at the Quibbler?" Molly smiled brightly as some looked up in interest, except for Charlie who was stuffing his face and Fleur who was helping her daughter make a plate.
"Oh yes. I started working there right after I graduated from school." Hermione took a bowl of peas from George and began making her plate while Arthur carved the roast.
"What school did you attend? I don't recall seeing you at Hogwarts?" Harry asked as he accepted a piece from Arthur.
"Oh no I went to the Salem Witches Institution in the states" Hermione hoped they wouldn't elaborate.
"Oh I had a friend who went there a few centuries ago. Lovely school." Molly pointed her fork to her food and stabbed the piece of meat happily.
"What did you study?" Ginny asked.
"Writing was my specialty. That's why I jumped at the chance to work at the Quibbler when I came here" Hermione let her creativity roll off her tongue as George looked to her with an impressed smile.
"How did you and Luna meet?" Ginny raised a brow and sipped her drink.
"Oh I had a friend who knew Luna and she mentioned Luna was in need of a fresh writer on the team.. We met over drinks and Luna and me hit it off like that"
"Wonderful, Luna is such a sweet darling. I hope she joins us soon for dinner" Molly said and there were murmurs of agreement.
"Where are your parents? What do they do as a living?" Arthur asked from his spot at head of the table.
"My father was a doctor, but sadly died not to long ago. My mother is a nurse and lives out on the country side." Hermione wasn't lying but she didn't have to tell them she lived on the human country side.
"Oh I'm so sorry to hear that dear." Molly gave her a sincere smile and Hermione actually believed her, unlike many false apologies and given respects.
"It's quite alright, I live through him now by being happy and living my life" Hermione moved her peas around her mash potatoes and looked up to see Harry smiling kindly to her as if he understood everything she was saying.
"Here here" Arthur held up his glass in a cheer like fashion before drinking it.
"Where did you and Fred meet?" Ginny leaned forward with a wicked smile on.
"Oh well-" Hermione started but Fred interrupted her.
"She saved my life" He smiled brightly and gasps were heard as everyone gave them their full attention.
"Saved your life?" Molly asked.
"Yeah remember when I told you Malfoy had me cornered in the forbidden forest? Well I would have been done for had it not been for this cleaver witch here. She hexed the crap out of him! If it hadn't been for her, I probably wouldn't be here" Fred said and took a bite of his potatoes as he looked down to Hermione and saw her small blush and accompanying smile.
"Oh darling!" Molly flew up and rushed to Hermione's side and threw her arms around her into a large hug.
"You have my eternal gratitude" Molly squeezed her tightly and Hermione thought she was going to crack her back.
"It's alright, I couldn't just stand there and let him do that. He should have been arrested immediately!" Hermione said and Molly released her with a sad smile and returned to her seat.
"That's what I've been saying for centuries!" Molly pouted and looked to her husband who sighed.
"Lucius Malfoy is a despicable, heinous vampire, but he holds a high spot on the ministry. If something were to happen to Kingsley then he would be appointed position of the head Ministry. He has power, money and influence, and in this society that is everything." Arthur said with a grim expression.
"He is a terrible vampire and should be burned at the stake!" Ginny hissed and threw her fork on the table.
"Ginny don't let people here you say that! it's treason!" Molly covered her own mouth in shock even if she agreed.
"She can't speak her mind?" Hermione asked confused.
"No! I'm not sure where you come from if it's different but here we are watched like hawks! Last year Katie Bell was burned at the stake for suspicions of being part of the revolution! Before that Nevells parents were taken to Azkaban for just questioning Malfoy during a case against a school for teaching defense to their students!" Ginny obviously was passionate about this subject and looked very pissed,
"Ginny don't you dare speak of revolution ever aloud again!" Percy gasped at her in fear.
"What is the revolution?" Hermione asked confused and Ginny turned to her with a proud smile.
"The people in the magical community are afraid that something will happen to Kingsley and Malfoy with become the new leader. If that happens it'll be like the dark ages were. If you're not pure blooded anything you'll be forced like cattle into slavery. No care for any life-"
"Ginny stop!" Arthur said but she continued.
"Kingsley is a kind man and he use to listen to us and take care of everything personally. Now Malfoy keeps his locked away in the ministry with false lies of assassins coming after him and promises to take care of everything. No one has seen Kingsley except at private charity events in the ministry walls. Ever since then the ministry has sent out hunters to find people who pose even a slight threat and take care of them. If they don't kill you, you will have wished they did if they keep you." Ginny's voice shook a bit and Hermione watched Harry place a hand on her shoulder.
"Ginny! Stop this talk right now! If they catch your tongue spouting off like such you could get yourself killed!" Arthur yelled and Ginny winced since her father never had raised his voice to her.
"But father!"
"No buts! I will not have talk of revolution in this house hold! Kingsley won't let Malfoy take hold of the land and we will just have to lay low until such is taken care of! We just need to wait for Malfoy to slip up and be taken down from power by Kingsley himself." Arthur said shortly.
"But what if he never slips up? What if-"
"What if the sky turns green and we all dance the mambo down sugar cane ally. No one knows anything so can we just accept everything and have a peaceful dinner?" Molly pointed to her meal and silence filled the room.
"Yes mum" Ginny said softly and sipped her drink as Harry rubbed her shoulder softly.
"So now… Bill how is-" Molly was cut off by the sound of lighting striking outside and the house shaking a bit. Plate on the walls and trinkets fell, causing clatters to be heard around them.
"What is that?" Hermione grabbed onto her drink to keep it from spilling like Victoire's did.
"I don-" Fred was cut off by a booming voice of Malfoy.
"Weasley family! By the order of the Ministry of Magic! Come out" The voice of Malfoy boomed and everyone's eyes widened as Fleur grabbed her daughter and clutched her to her chest.
"Daddy!" Victoire cried and Bill put his arm around his wife and daughter as Arthur stood.
"Now I'll go out and see what they want… stay here" Arthur stood and Percy quickly ran to his side and insisted in going out with him which he agrees too.
Everyone ran to the covered window and peeked out to see Malfoy sitting atop a large black Pegasus. Several dark cloaked figures stood by his side with wands at the ready, their faces blocked by the dark fog around them. It was ominous and scary as Hermione clutched onto Fred while they all watched from the window.
Arthur approached them and took off his pointy hat as a sign of respect and nodded to Malfoy with hard eyes.
"What can we do for you Lucius?" Arthur asked and Percy stood quietly by his side, tall and proud.
"Arthur Weasley…" Lucius sneered down at him from atop his Pegasus who looked like a large war horse.
"Is your family pledging their allegiance and trust into the right people?" He asked, never loosing his sneer.
"Why yes sir. We all support the ministry one hundred percent" Arthur fiddled with his hat in his hands.
"Then why did we find this in the hide out of an underground revolution meeting" Lucius threw the scroll to Arthur's feet and he picked it up and opened it. On the scroll were a list of names. Atop the paper was a title 'Dumbledore's Army' in perfect writing. Different names and penmanship littered the page until his eyes came to one name and his face drained of color. Percy rushed to his fathers side and looked to the paper and his own face mirrored the page.
"You see now why we are here" Lucius said with a nod.
"P-please sir… she is only a child… She doesn't know anything about this please!" Arthur shook the paper in his hands.
"She is of age now… She knew what she was doing" The evil man cracked a sick smile.
"Please spare us a kindness sir! We will deal with her but please don't-" Arthur silence when Lucius held up a hand.
"I can not show favoritism to a ministry worker.. What would that say about the ministry? She must be punished accordingly." He looked up to the house to the faces in the window and Hermione hid behind Fred.
"Ginevra Weasley! Step forward to adhere to your crimes against the Ministry!" His booming voice rang out and shook the house.
Molly's eyes grew wide and she clutched Ginny to her chest.
"No not my baby!" Molly squeaked out and clutched her harder.
Percy came into the house and held his hand out to her and Molly shook her head.
"She will stand trial now mum, me and dad know the legal system. We can fight this! But it will be so much worse if she puts up a fight" Percy assured her and Molly reluctantly released her. Percy took her hand and guided her outside of the house. Fred turned to Hermione and places his hands on her shoulder.
"Go up to my room and wait there." He said with such a stern voice she could only nod and turn to run up the stairs.
The whole Weasley clan exited the house, following behind Ginny as she walked down the steps to the porch with her chin held high and a determined look on her face.
Lucius watched her walk proudly in front of him and he took out another scroll from his satchel on the horse.
"Ginevra Weasley… you have been found to be part of the conspiracy to over throw the ministry with the help of a resistance which has been forbidden. Is this your name on the paper?" Lucius gestured the scroll her father was holding.
"Yes…" She nodded.
"Did you sign it yourself" He followed up with.
"Don't try lying… we will use truth serum is needed." He reminded her.
"Yes I did" Ginny nodded again.
Hermione rushed to Fred and George's room and watched out the window.
"Ginevra are you aware that there is a human upon our lands?" Lucius ran a black gloved finger over his chin.
Ginny's eyes grew wide and she shook her head.
"N-no I didn't" She shook her head.
Lucius sneered and squinted his eyes at her.
"Did you bring this human here?" He yelled.
"No! I didn't even know there was one here until now!" Ginny pleaded.
"Sir she has no idea what a human could be doing here. What has this to do with her?" Percy spoke up in an official voice.
"We believe the resistance is letting a human into the magical world to distract the ministry into letting its guards worry about the humans, leaving an assassination attempt open on Kingsley's head! Did you converse with the attempt to take his life?" Lucius screamed and pointed to her again.
"No! Never! My family has been friends with Kingsley for centuries! He blessed my birth!" Ginny cried as panic set in.
"She could never harm Kingsley!" Arthur joined in.
"Do you have any proof of this 'attempt on his life' done by my sister? All you have is a paper she sighed, probably years ago before she became of age! A child is not to be held responsible for their youthful indiscretions!" Percy pointed to the paper Arthur held and Hermione was impressed at how persuasive Percy was. He could be an amazing lawyer in her world.
Lucius closed his scroll and glared to Percy with hatred and anger.
"She knew what she was doing! If I had not uncovered the hide out of the resistance she could still be cavorting around with them. But now that she is of age as of last month.. She is to be tried as such… Trial over" Lucius smirked and Percy's eyes went wide.
"No I demand a proper trial for my sister! I want to represent her in front of the ministry and plea her case to them!" He demanded.
"Listen here you groveling weasel! I am the ministry… at least I will be, and I decide if a person is fit for trial! Seeing this evidence is enough to convict…" He turned to Ginny who sadly held her head up high in the air.
"Ginevra Weasley.. On an act of treason in the first account… I Lucius Malfoy, head of ministry judicial hearings, find you guilty. Your punishment… you will be burned at the stake on the morning of December 25." He said loudly as lighting struck behind him.
"NO! Ginny!" Molly screamed and ran forward as Ginny stood her ground with her head up, glaring at Lucius.
"Take her in" Lucius pointed to her and the dark figured moved in but Percy stood in front of his siter who was engulfed by their mother and family.
"Please sir! I beg you! If not to spare her life them to give you mine! Please take me instead!" Percy begged and held his hands out to the figures.
"No take me!" William stepped by his brothers side and Fleur gasped as tears slipped out.
"No take me!" Charlie looked like he was ready for a fight.
"Or me!" Ron cried sadly holding his sisters shoulder.
George and Fred looked to their sister and spoke up next.
"Take us" They said together and Hermione watched from the window with a quickly beating heart at the love and devotion this family had for their own.
"No please take me! Not my children! Please!" Arthur tried to walk to Lucius side but the dark figures blocked his way.
Harry took Ginny's hand and she shook her head to him while he looked to her with such love and worry.
"I am not done here… you all are in trouble as well.. Harboring a member of the resistance… how do I not know if you all are part of it as well?" He asked and everyone's eyes grew wide.
"Sir.. We are all innocent! Even Ginny!" Arthur spoke up.
The dark figures took Ginny from her family and placed chains around her wrists. Molly whispered her daughters name as she held her hands out as if to take her child back.
"Hm… well to show you some mercy for your many loyal years… I'll give you a chance.." He smirked evilly.
Arthur was about to sigh in relief when suddenly growling and snapping was heard in the corn field.
The family's eyes grew wide and everyone took a step back from the field.
"Once I leave there will be a shield over your home… no one can port out… you will run past the field and get through the shield… or you will die." Lucius smile widened at the fear in all of their eyes as hunters came stumbling out of the corn. Their rotting flesh causing them to cover their noses in disgust. The hunters clacked here teeth together at the prospects of a meal. There were dozens of them lining just behind Lucious, swaying back and forth, side to side, as they stared into nothingness.
"This is unethical!" Percy screamed and glared to Lucius.
"It's only unethical if you get caught… good luck" He raised his cloak and Molly screamed for her daughter.
A large bolt of lighting struck the house causing all the windows the shatter. Especially the one Hermione was standing pressed up against.
"Ah!" She covered her face as shards of glass were hurled at her. She fell into it and large piece stabbed into her skin. She fell on one large piece cutting her hand wide open.
She hissed and clutched her arms to herself as blood leaked from cuts on her arms, neck and one on the side of her face near her ear. Blood dribbled out of her hand and fell into the rug of the twins room.
The Weasley family quickly took haste and ran towards the back of the corn fields to get past the shield and safely apperate away.
Aurther pulling a sobbing Molly who was stumbling on her feet. Bill clutching his wife as she held their daughter tightly to her chest.
The hunters were about to launch forward when they froze and began smelling the air like a shark smelling blood in the water. Fred looked up to the blown out window and back to the zombie like creatures.
"Oh fuck" He whispered and ran into the house as a barrel of zombies launched after him through the door and blown open windows.
