Chapter 8: Creature of the Cave

Jaune finally reached the registration site. Here students registered their desire to either explore or train at the cliff area. This was a means for the staff to have a general idea where the students were at all times. According to the forms, the information had been used to launch a fair number of rescue parties.

Still journeying out there was done on each individual's own peril. As to cement this notion, the last few pages were actually a will section.

"Well isn't that just morbid."

Morbid as it might be Jaune, it isn't without warrant. Grimm are a serious global concern. Don't get big headed.

"It doesn't matter that it's warranted, it's just plain negative. That kind of negativity attracts the Grimm you know."

Filling out the form, he returned it to the receptionist. She looked him over and questioned formally, "Will you be going alone?"

Before the feminine swordsman could nod, a familiar cheery voiced interrupted him, "Of course not buster. He can't have all the fun."

Turning around, he saw Nora pointing dramatically at him with the rest of JNPR behind her. To be honest, he hadn't planned to bring any attention to his little trip. Jaune could easily tell they didn't agree with his plans from their expressions alone.

Ren stepped up first and explained, "You seemed oddly interested in the cave from the test. I was pretty sure that you would look into it more deeply. Although, I thought you were going to do research not exploration, especially without us. And no Nora, it isn't about fun." The other male of the team sounded disapproving.

His scarlet haired partner approached him and placed her hands on his shoulders. "We are only concerned. We believe that it would be a lot safer with reinforcements", she said, clearly wary of his recklessness.

Of course the male arc felt differently. Taking care of himself in hostile environments wasn't anything new. At the very least, he had confidence in his ability to escape trouble. More members would only be a hazard at this point.

Jaune accept their help. You're not a singular entity anymore. Now you have a team that relies on you. Take this chance and be a leader and not focus on protecting your pride.

A pout formed on his delicate features. While stubborn, he knew when the battle was lost. "Fine, if everyone is going to gang up on me."

The rest of Team JNPR were all smiles now. So he went to work filling out the packet for team excursions. Leadership seemed to be married to paperwork.

After he turned in the packet, his team made their way to the forest. Ren lightly prodded, "Is there any particular reason for your interest in the cave?"

Jaune took his attention from admiring Pyrrha's grace to answer his male companion's question, "I want some insight for this whole Grimm issue. The cave seemed like a good place to start. Temples and the like tend to offer a good deal of information if you know where to look." Finishing up his explanation, he turned to his partner and questioned her in turn, "How long has humanity known the Grimm again?"

A look of resignation marred her pretty features as she responded, "Since man came from the dust he has faced a ruthless world. Though great, Grimm were but one of the constant perils."

Jaune hummed in understanding, "No offense Pyrrha, but that's cryptic and vague. None of the books gave better answers. Always been there may be the truth, but that's a lot of missing context. As my eldest sister always said 'to know your enemy is to know their history '. "

"She sounds like a wise sister. But don't be too upset if we don't find anything. The cave markings are very old and erosion most likely would have ruined the depiction."

"Bah, don't sweat it Pyrrha. You got to think positive. Think of all the adventure we'll have." The excitable voice was Nora as she skipped around the group. Jaune couldn't agree better.

To Nora's immense annoyance, the group had opted for speed and stealth through the forest. Very rarely did they indulge in prolong combat. A fair number of times Ren had to patiently explain that they didn't know what other Grimm may have taken residence in the dark chambers. It was prudent that they reserved their strength for any wayward Grimms.

Without being blasted by tiles, the trip was a mite longer than last time. An hour of trekking was necessary to find the same cave opening that was seen in the initiation test.

The cave itself was fairly damp. Each of their steps sunk into the ground and left imprints on behind them. The very darkness held within felt like a presence all on its own. It was encompassing, threatening, and deceptive. Jaune felt more alarmed than he did during the exam, and he couldn't figure out why.

Pulling out Mors, he waited until she lighted up and presented the group with better insight of the cave's innards. On all the sides were the images that Ren and Nora had reported about. On closer examination, the cave walls were smooth, almost like marble. Ren and Pyrrha were also taking note of the surroundings.

"This is way boring. Where's the ambush of Grimms? What about my pelt rewards? Ren I think I'm actually dying of boredom", whined the energetic Nora.

"Have patience Nora. If nothing of interest happens, I'll treat you to some food." This seemed to appease the upset girl a little. It didn't stop her from dashing around the cave.

Jaune these walls have Aura drains. I believe there's a mechanism that is activated by the energy.

He nodded at that thought. Most things here seemed to run with Aura. And he knew just who to use, "If you're so bored Nora, then why don't you power up the walls? Pulse your Aura right about here." Jaune pointed to the portion of the cave wall he was inspecting.

Nora looked ecstatic to have some goal in the cave. She hopped to the pointed location and surged an abundance of Aura through the walls. First came the lights, following that a message was written in front of the freshman team.

It read: On sight must you rely. At mercy of the currents of this fading world. Seduced by false illusion, it is the Fool who cuts not his own path. Celestial glory ne'er to behold.

The message flickered and then faded. With a flash of light, that momentarily blinded them, an opening appeared at the end of the cave. From where they stood they could see stretches of sand.

Jaune, Pyrrha, and Ren looked each other in the eyes and nodded in agreement.

This was as suspicious as it got and they shouldn't even entertain going in there.

"I believe we have discovered a fair bit. It would be wise to alert the headmaster. It's far too risky to go exploring." Ren said after some logical analysis.

None were prepared for an orange blur to run right past their reasonable discussion. "Yahoo. It's an adventure! Oh my gosh, it's so much bigger on the inside." Nora hollered as she ran right into the opening. Looks of sheer horror spread among her teammates.

"Nora! Get out of there! Leader's orders", Jaune called out.

"This is unwise Nora. We don't have any tactical information of this location", Pyrrha tried to convince the energetic girl.

"It's dangerous in there. Come back right this moment, Nora", her childhood friend commanded. His worry was in stark contrast to his typical calm behavior.

Despite their warnings, she made no effort to go back. None of them were sure what to do, it was against reason to go in blind like their teammate. But there was no way they were going to leave her behind, especially not Ren.

To their consternation, the opening was being to lower. Making a snap decision, the rest of the team ran inside of the pathway into the desert area. Nora was still exploring just inside. Ren had begun to give his partner a good dressing down about following the leader's direction. She didn't appear too bothered.

Oh, that girl. Has she no shame? What if you get hurt in this little misadventure. Make sure to take care of yourself.

There were no additional paths for them to take. Behind them was a stone wall, that wasn't going to move anytime soon. To their front was hills of sand. But it was vaguely in the shape of a path, so with no better option Team JNPR walked forward.

The heat was overbearing. More than once they had been tempted to strip clothing for the sake of comfort. Their journey brought them before a wide expanse that tapered off to the ever distant sands. Cringes floated all around as they imagined themselves trekking through all that sand.

No sooner had the last person entered the field, an almost transparent barrier appeared around the whole area. From the depths of the sands a Grimm unlike anything they had seen before emerged.

...

Bloodied and ruthless it appeared. High was its stature, for neither Death stalker or Nevermore could compare, even if combined. Like cascading rain, the sand slid of its terrifying form. It was bipedal with the arms of a man, face of a snake and feet of a hawk. Contrasted with the surroundings, its body was black with the red marking ebbing from the center. From its mouth hung four large fangs. Unlike any human or Faunus, the Grimm had six mighty arms.

Clutched in the smallest arms that extended from its elongated neck were two dark blue orbs. A cruel and sadistic energy pulsed through it. From the sides, sizeable larger arms held a bloodstained cleaver and a rusted broadsword. The largest of the arms came from its back holding both a barbed spear and a whip laced with shards of petulant purple. All of its arms moved in tandem as though to impose its superiority over the four small insignificant figures before it.

Staring from the ancient bone mask were crimson eyes gleefully observing the prospective prey. A sound escaped its throat. It couldn't be attributed to a laugh but more of a facsimile. The noise rumbled and churned, it was the sound of a thousand fallen screaming hunters. The sheer unholy force behind the sound upturned the very sands and flung the green wearing and the orange headed meals away from its form.

What amusing things these meals would be. Craving emerged from its pits and now it would hunt and feed.

This day it would gain four new voices.

...

Just as Ren and Nora were blown aside like ragdolls , the other half of the team sprung into action. Resourceful Pyrrha stabbed her spear into the ground to better withstand the onslaught of the foul winds. Jaune was of a different mind and launched himself into the air, all together avoiding the repugnant gale.

With no further warning than a clutched fist, Jaune struck. "Dragon Fist!" A column of sheer power escaped his outstretched fist and assailed the unnatural foe. The power condensed into the shape of an orb once it came in contact with the black flesh of the Grimm. A tidal wave of energy erupted from the collision. Shockwaves no less powerful than the beat's howl shook the area.

The others had to withstand even further pressure from their leader's attack.

Cracks could be seen from the beast's armor. Still it was nothing if not durable. It removed itself from the epicenter and seemed to almost cast an enraged glare at its attacker.

Pyrrha recovered the quickest. Taking advantage of the temporary lull, she shifted her weapon into gun mode and took shots all over its form. Unlike her leader's devastating blow, her were mere pebbles in the wind and did little more than to annoy the Grimm. Single minded in its self defense, it turned from Jaune to give chase to the red head.

This gave ample time for Jaune to remove Mors from her sheathe and crouch to the ground once he landed. Dashing in he closed the distance between he and the beast and took aim. Clean and efficient, his strike collided with the elongated neck.

"No good. I couldn't cut the neck off." An agitated Jaune muttered. Mors had merely caused a deep gash on the abomination's neck but had failed to make a complete cut.

Nora, unbothered by the previous display of power, raced towards the Grimm hammer raised high.

It would not allow this. Clutching those bright orbs, it called forth some power, better yet a foul curse. An intense, malevolent but bright light purged the area. Despair weighed down on every person there. A sense of wrongness permeated the air and something vital was violated, ensnared, drowned out. Just as quickly it came, the light left.

With a speed something of that size had no right to have, it almost teleported in front of the dazed huntress in training. With its pole arm the Grimm slammed Nora at the side. An almost inaudible crunch sounded as she flew away. All she could do in response was wheeze with a choking sound.

"Nora!" Ren roared as he forced himself to catch Nora. Sadly, his strength was not enough and soon he too flew along with his passenger.

Without turning around, the Grimm's arm moved to intercept Jaune's sneak attack. It targeted him through his blind spots.

But Jaune was not a novice to battle tactics. Twisting his entire form, Jaune turned just in time to block the giant cleaver with his own arm guards. They protested at the sheer weight of the weapon of execution. Fissure grew into the armor until it cracked. Blood dripped from the crevices of his armor.

Not to be further pushed back, Jaune stabbed the very wrist of the Grimm. The screeching and anguish of an untold number of hunters assailed his ears.

"Jaune, Pyrrha, I don't know how it's possible, but that Grimm has sealed our Aura! Our reserves aren't protecting us." Ren called in great urgency.

That was troubling news to the blonde swordsman. Warriors of Remnant relied heavily on that aspect of their existence. Without it, his teammates were little more than fodder. Their durability was a requirement with dealing with the creature of Grimms.

"Back off! Stick to long range weaponry. I'll engage the enemy." He didn't give them the chance to disagree for he returned to the battlefield. The ensuring face off was intense as it was fast. Bulging limbs were deflected by the lithe counterparts of the human. Neither were willing to show weakness or give an edge. A battle of attrition blossomed from the engagement.

Amidst the standoff, the Grimm ever the opportunist twisted its arm and brought down its cleaver. Just before it lobbed off his neck, he maneuvered Mors to cease its movement. The jaw of the Grimm unhinged with a crack and its long neck stretched for the blonde's midsection. Seeing it coming, Jaune back flipped.

But the Grimm was remiss to allow his escape. Its neck changed direction and snapped him from mid jump. A crunch filled the ditch as the fangs crushed him. It was fortunate that the combination of his sturdiness, aura, KI, and armor prevented the fangs from properly piercing his flesh.

A pink bomb made its way into the Grimm's face. The goliath of a Grimm released the wheezing Arc. Grimacing, he looked around for Nora, but was shocked to see Ren aiming the changed hammer.

Move it! It's using the broadsword now!

Said weapon came over him like an executioner's blade. Its surface cut the air with a hiss and lumbered over the wincing swordsman. Mors panicked from her unresponsive partner. That is until she felt a pulse of power.

Jaune Arc raised his unsteady hand and completely caught the implement of death. As he clinched it, cracks formed slowly. Thoughts raced through his head.

Predator.

Elegance.

Infinity.

Dominion.

Absolute.

Unrivaled.

Jaune felt truly alive, above that even. Opening his eyes, slits were now his pupils. The petite Arc's body rumbled and he let lose a roar. A roar that radiated with his power, his purpose.

The foe's demise.

The air was saturated with his spite and the wind created from the cry rivaled the creature's earlier cry. It was not prepared for the usurpation of its position as the threat. As one dismissed a child, the roar flung him to the furthest reaches of the bounded area.

Jaune was not satisfied. His new found speed caught up with the hurling Grimm. He took hold of its outstretched foot and slammed him into the barrier. The sound of scraping metal was the result. Spinning around he threw the Grimm head first into the unyielding barrier.

"Twin Dragon Palmstrike!" A duo of long clear dragons composed of KI roared in sync as they shout out of Jaune's hands. Each jaw of the creatures slammed shut onto the orbs held within the smallest limbs of the towering Grimm.

The aura blocking orbs shattered.

...

The usually calm member of Team JNPR released a sigh. He could now breathe easier. Uneasiness had formed ever since the unusual Grimm had sealed his Aura. Still the stakes weren't stacked in their favor. With the exception of Jaune, he wasn't sure how they could actually injury the Grimm.

If they made it through this intact, he would have a serious discussion with Nora about self-control. Being her childhood friend, he wasn't unused to negative repercussions of her actions. But this was the worst to date. He thanked whatever forces allowed Jaune to be part of their team. Otherwise this would've ended a long time ago.

But what was this Grimm? It was far too large and agile, a most unappreciated combination in a Grimm.

A whistling sound took him from his thoughts and he looked up. The Grimm had folded its body and was now spinning horizontally towards him. Using his restored Aura, he ran to the opposite side of the terrain. If the situation wasn't so dire he would be amused by the sheer tenacity of the beast. Hitting a sand dune, it struggled for a moment before changes directions and aiming for his person once again.

As it raced towards him, Ren jumped into a roll and moved under another run through by the serpent like creature. Pulling out his hidden weapons he opened fire. Admittedly, he was not quite prepared for the Grimm to revert to his full stature. He didn't remember the Grimm being so large when it was fighting Jaune from the opposite part of the field. Perception really does warp the senses.

Idle thoughts died down as he heard Nora yell, "I got this!" Obviously she did not for the Grimm was unbothered by the force of the hammer being brought down. It not only guarded, but seemed to take a liking to Nora's prized weapon and plundered it off her. It then returned the favor and smashed it on her form, sending her flying again.

This time, Ren wasn't nearly as concerned. Her groaning proved him right. Besides pain tended to teach better than lectures. Though this brought another thought to mind. Did the Grimm gain all its weapons from prior opponents?

Well he had better things to worry about. Such as the Grimm eyeing him something fierce. Now the new target of its ire, Ren utilized his hard earned skill and left an afterimage as he disappeared in a small gust of wind.

Law of movement, a very much appreciated technique. Jaune had gone to great lengths to pound the move set into the team. During the lessons he admitted that he wasn't very please about the workload. But now considering it saved his life, he swore to never openly complain about the morning training sessions again.

He would do the polite think and merely internally curse his leader.

He scaled up its arms after reappearing on its hand and ran up to the head and gashed the eyes. Understandably, the Grimm was most displeased by his action and moved to whip him. Those shards didn't seem very good for his health.

Luckily, Jaune chose the right time to slam a kick right in its back and have it tumbling away.

...

Pyrrha was in awe of the skills that Jaune was displaying. Appearances really were deceiving. His lissom form held a lot more power than she had initially assumed.

The Grimm was proving to be awfully robust. Her personal barrage hadn't done much but annoy. Though ineffective, she was reluctant to attempt close combat. Nora had already demonstrated the most likely result.

The Team's efforts, mainly in the form of Jaune's assault, was finally bearing fruit. Both agility and durability of the Grimm were very much lowered. Gashes and bullet holes were increasing on the once pristine form of the beast.

Even as the creature fell, it was attempting to chop right through Ren's bisection.

She could not allow this.

...

Seems your partner has more in her than I thought.

Jaune only nodded lightly in response. Despite having such a good opening at Ren, the monster seemed to be struggling to actually follow through. He doubted it was having second thoughts. The only person he could credit that to was Pyrrha. She had her hand outstretched and appeared to be struggling against some unknown weight.

It was most likely some form of telepathy. She appeared to take control of the cleaver, with much struggling, and began hacking against the Grimm. In retaliation, it brought forth the broadsword to deflect the cleaver's blow.

A spear flew from its hand towards the red head. Shockingly enough, it missed her by mere inches. The smug look on her faced seemed to almost enrage the beast.

Sweat marred her face as the cleaver continued its battle against its brethren weaponry. Even as this was occurring Ren and Pyrrha were retreating.

"Don't ignore me you sneak headed freak." Jaune screamed as he dropped kicked the beast and shattered its frontal armor/shell. It fell like a pile of rocks.

Just like before, it shifted to a more compact form and began horizontally gliding towards Nora.

In an instant he was before Nora and guarded against the Grimm with Mors alone. He easily overpowered it and tossed it aside. "Good job, Mors."

Something like a Grimm can't hope to even scratch me! Let's see your little gimmick weapons do that!

"Yes, yes Mors. You're the greatest and I'm an idiot."

Before the Grimm could even hope to attack again, it rose involuntary into the sky and fell to the ground, rose again, and fell again. The whole process seemed rather painful, evident by its thrashing limbs.

Looking at his partner he called, "Keep it occupied."

She nodded but requested, "Please do hurry. I'm not too sure how long I can keep this going."

The blonde swordsman sucked in his breathe and held Mors horizontally. Jaune said six words that changed the very landscape and battle.

"Twelve Great Techniques - Ice Dragon Manifestation!" A grand dragon of titanic portions burst from the disk of power that appeared before Mors. Slick and beyond cold its form only grew with time. The head was sculptured in severity and majesty. There was no mighty roar or great storm, for its very presence was enough preamble, enough declaration.

In the near atrophied instincts of the Grimm something reemerged. Cold terrible very justifiable fear. The pitiable shaking was almost worth sympathy.

But the manifestation would give no such thing.

Every bit of surface that it passed by changed the desert into a tundra. Sand dunes became icebergs.

Even Jaune's allies began to tremble from the power and chill.

As though recognizing its fate. The Grimm dropped all pretense of battle and released all weapons. The manifestation opened its mouth and the Grimm of the desert, the destroyer of lives and the once revered beast met its end.

And for the manifestation, it was nothing. As though to press the sheer insignificance, it rammed and utterly destroyed the barrier and completely froze over everything outside of the barrier radius.

The corpse of the once fearsome Grimm was frozen in agony. The six limbs were gone, its lower jaw was nowhere to be seen. Icicles were piercing its body and it silently fell. Once red eyes drained to black and the body broke into particles.

"Did you guys know he could do that?" Nora questioned amazed.

"My word, I haven't seen such things done with ice semblances nor dust." Pyrrha stated.

Ren cleaned his sleeves as though this was all a matter of fact, "Well Nora, maybe next time you should listen to him when he tells not to go into secret doors." A slightly bitter Ren added.

Nora only giggled nervously.

A tired Jaune jogged his way to the rest of Team JNPR. "Everyone okay?"

"I count four, so everybody's here." Nora mentioned with her hand to her cheek.

At that moment the whole terrain went up in radiance. As the glow died down, the group found themselves in a clear stone room that was about the same size as their dorm room. In other words, nowhere near enough to even house their fallen foe.

"Amazing. To think such things were possible and in a cave no less. This breaks so many physical laws. Think of all the applications." Ren remarked with interest.

"Boring!" Jaune and Nora said in sync. They eyed each other and smiled. It was paramount that they didn't allow Ren to go off one of his intellectual tangents. Those could last for hours.

Pyrrha walked up to the door and turned to them, "If we have no other choice, then I suggest we go through the door. We have no other exits."

"Is that wise? We already had to deal with one overly powerful Grimm. I don't want to push our luck." Ren cautioned.

Jaune shook his head, "It's unlikely. If there were more Grimm, I doubt they would let us go after defeating the snake thing. Besides we have no food, medical supplies, or simple healing solutions. Things can only get worse with staying here. JNPR we're going."

So they did.

The next room was grand in its own respects. It was very much a throne room of gemstones and fine stone furniture. All items were shining and grand.

"This" Jaune began.

"Is" Nora continued.

"Amazing." They finished.

Both team members ran around touching and prodding all the shiny things they could find. The more mature of the group merely watched in amusement.

"I am glad you have taken a liking to my domain." A majestic voice called out. The voice was chime of metal and carried a subdued pitch.

They all turned to find the source and were rather thrown off. For it was neither human or Faunus, but an animal. An ethereal gazelle to be precise.

It was standing above them on a throne. "I am known as Yuhl. I thank you all, my benefactors", even as she spoke black bleed down her eyes, as the light within her grew stronger.

"What are you?" Ren questioned.

He was graced with a regal smile, "As I've said before I am Yuhl. How far things have degraded." Her eyes grew sorrowful as she looked at the empty room. "The land has become cracked and decayed." One by one, she looked at every member of JNPR in the eye. Her eyes lingered longest on Jaune before composing herself.

Jaune rationalized this to his overall strength.

"I am the queen of the very earth in which you step on. Aura Queen of Earth. My brethern are the movers and shakers which all cling onto for support... or we once were. Before I was trapped."

Pyrrha's eyes softened at the sorrowful tone, "What happened?"

She looked at them seriously, "The Grimm happened."

The three residents of Remnant nodded in understanding. Grimm were always the sources of tragedy.

"I am sorry for your loss." Pyrrha remarked.

"Pay no mind. Knowledge is necessary for true empathy, little one. As I was saying, I'm manipulate the very ground itself."

Taking a glance around a questioncame to Ren's mind, "How long have you been trapped?"

"Many millennium has past at this point. At the time of my fall, the world was far more plentiful and versatile."

That piqued his interest, "You may be unaware, but Grimm has overrun the world. Sentient species are being run to near extinction. This misery and despair piles up and attracts the Grimm in greater numbers. This cycles merely grows worse with time. If not for the kingdoms, I shudder to think of our prospects. So I ask, where did these monsters known as Grimm originate from."

With solemn face she replied, "Monsters? No, the creature of Grimm are the lifeblood of this planet."

All three residents eyes widened, even Nora couldn't jest about it. Ren was the most opposed, "Lifeblood? That's outlandish. Are we seen as some kind of plague on Remnant itself?"

"No. The Grimm, or better yet Aeons, were once protectors of the land. An impressive line of defense if you will. And it wasn't merely protecting the animals and nature from the sentient beings, but the inverse as well. Creatures that grew too devastating were taken care of. Even cases where wildlife was choking out the natural order, the Aeons intervened. Blood baths by the people were stomped out as well. They could be seen as a sort of police force. But something happened. Something violated and overcame their nature and turned them against what they once protected. Those masks you see upon their faces are but physical representation of their slavery. Stripped of their identity, their duty, they follow not the will of the planet, but some unknown source."

All were silent. This was a major breakthrough in the war against Grimm. Although this brought about just as many, if not more, questions. The very notion of Grimm as victims was still unbelievable. Kihl continued her statement.

"Enough of such dreary things. It would be ungrateful of me to neglect your rewards." Her horns shined lightly and each weapon, sans Mors, was brought to her side.

Nora's Magnhild was the first to change. A pink jewel was embedded into the bottom of the handle, which became thicker. Next came Ren's StormFlower. The blades on Ren's weapons became longer and more curved. Pyrrha's blade seemed to be etched with gold and the shield got a sharp boundary. Each weapon floated back to their respective owners. She then made her way to Jaune.

"And now you, young Arc." Her nose nestled the hilt of Mors, making its hilt longer and bronze colored.

Jaune I feel so energized right now. I can feel the very essence of the planet and its moving plates.

"Now you Pyrrha I ask a favor of you", she said as she turned to his partner.

Pyrrha titled her head, in Jaune's opinion, very cutely and smiled in assent.

"Raise your hand." When she did so, Kihl placed her head into the raised hand and said, "This Oath I swear! For when you call I shall overturn any mountain to aide you." Pyrrha's eyes widened. "Call me and any left under my command and we shall fight alongside you."

Before they could even question her, Kihl had disappeared. At the same time a sphere of energy not unlike the barrier appeared and took them from the mysterious, but barren room.

...

When they could once regain their balance, they found themselves on the campus grounds. Now that they were out of the cave, all but Jaune fell on the ground. Each rattled with throbbing wounds and/or exhaustion. Nothing but pained moans escaped their lips.

Fortunately enough, Jaune had the foresight to use his beloved scroll to call for medical assistance.

Author's Note

Yeah for story progression. Feedback appreciated, especially on the fight scene. Was it suitable for a 'boss' character? Thanks for reading.
