Chapter 19:The Fight Begins
Hades joined the fight as a Cerberus and was fighting Pandora in her Minotaur form.
"Articulos, come out here!" Mars yelled.
The avatar stumbled out, clutching its head. "Must...resist," it said, in a strangled voice.
Mars glared at it and roared. Articulos trembled as it bowed to him, and it transformed into a dragon.
"I've got it," Pandora said, turning into a Minotaur and running at the dragon.
The Avatar turned to look at the Minotaur. It roared and breathed fire at the creature. The Minotaur ducked and swung its axe at the dragon, then heard Zeus behind it.
"Aim for the neck and underbelly to kill it," he said.
The Minotaur nodded. If you want your friend dead, sure. What about crippling? it asked.
Zeus thought about it. "I'm not sure," he said.
"Do anything to stop him," Ares yelled, head-butting Caudus back.
The Minotaur growled as it raised its ax and swung at the dragon, which breathed fire at it. You really think you can defeat me, Articulos? Pandora said, blocking the fire with her axe.
The dragon growled. I am the Avatar of Mars, it said telepathically. Of course I can defeat you.
And I am Pandora. I'm not so easily beaten, she snarled back.
Articulos growled and raked his talons across Pandora's chest. He swung his tail, aiming to hit her. In one swift motion, Pandora blocked the tail, jumped up, and rammed into the dragon, knocking him down. Meanwhile, Athena was fighting against Proserpine.
"You and Hades will never win," she said.
"Ha! We have your friend and the Titans on our side. I doubt very much that we will be stopped," Proserpine laughed.
Athena glared at her. She held up her hands and magical energy appeared. "We shall see," she said darkly, sending the energy beam at Proserpine. The goddess tried to move but the energy hit her in the chest. She screamed and fell to the ground, wounded. Athena walked up to her. "This is for Caudus," she snarled.
She summoned another energy ball and fired it at Proserpine. The goddess screamed as it hit her, and she died instantly. Mars saw her die and roared, running full out towards Athena. One second later, Ares was in front of him.
"You will not harm my wife," the gigantic wolf said, growling at the dragon.
"I can harm whom I want!" Mars roared, and attacked Ares.
The other gods were grappling with the Titans. Zeus was fighting with Kronos at the moment. The Titan roared and attacked him. Zeus summoned a lightning bolt and flung it an him.
"Do you really believe you can defeat the gods?!" Zeus yelled.
"We can, and we will!" Kronos roared before attacking Zeus. The other Titans followed him.
"We shall see!" Zeus roared back, blocking the attack as the other gods stopped the other Titans.
The fight went on for hours. Hades, Mars and Caudus were fighting Ares and Athena. Zeus, Pandora and the other gods had the Titans falling back. Eventually, Kronos fell. Zeus towered over the Titan and put his foot down hard on the Titan's chest to prevent him from getting up.
"You and your Titans have fallen," he said. "It is time to send you back into Tartarus. Another option would be death."
"This will never end! If you send us back, we will return twice as strong!" Kronos growled.
"Then we'll just have to kill you," Zeus said, and drove a lightning bolt into Kronos' chest. The Titan gasped and died.
Caudus, Hades and Mars were attacking Ares together. Ares was holding them off quite well, but he had sustained a few injuries, and the other two showed no signs of stopping.
"Caudus, stop this!" He shouted. "I'm sorry for what I said earlier!"
The hydra growled and shook its nine heads. Hades is my master, you are my enemy, so you shall fall, it snarled. Just as it lunged forward to attack again, two figures flew through the air and tackled it.
Ares looked on in shock at the two figures. They looked at him and smiled.
Mind if we intrude? said Argentum, grinning.
"Argentum?" Ares asked, looking at the Cerberus. "But you said..."
I know what I said. I was angry. But someone is quite convincing, he said, looking up at Pandora, who was still dueling with Articulos.
"It's good to have you back. Flamma's okay?"
A female griffin walked up beside the Cerberus and nodded. Better then ever. I feel stronger in fact, said the griffin.
"That's great," Ares said. "Now, shall we fight?"
Flamma looked at Caudus, Mars, Hades and Articulos. She nodded.
Caudus let out a terrible roar. I hurt you! You were in a coma because of me! I can do it again! he spat at Flamma. At his words, Argentum pounced.
You will not harm her, he told the hydra as he knocked Caudus over. If you do, I'll kill you.
Do try, Caudus spat.
The Cerberus growled as his other two heads snapped at the hydra. Caudus smirked and chuckled.
What happened to him? Flamma asked Ares.
"Me pissing him off mixed with brainwashing. It's an ugly combo," Ares said, and when Flamma looked at him sternly, he looked a little ashamed.
You didn't learn your lesson after my husband ran off? she asked.
The wolf shrugged and hung its head shamefully. "I'm sorry," it said. "For hurting Argentum. I should have been kinder to him."
Flamma smiled, draping a wing over the god. It's fine, Ares. Now, let's defeat these guys, shall we?
Ares smirked and nodded.
