Hey readers. I finally updated my story. So sorry it took so long but moving was a pain in the ass. Well on with the story.

I followed Sapphire to the supposed angel with a ton of questions brewing in my head. What could the splicers want with a little girl like Sapphire? It didn't make sense, the splicers only wanted someone if you either stole from them or you had something they wanted, and only idiots who were new to the city knew not to fuck with a splicer, even the police didn't go after them unless it was with a full team of professionals according to my dad. Suddenly, Sapphire spoke to me, breaking me out of my trance.

"Look daddy! An angel," Sapphire cheered with a smile on her gray face. That's another thing, how did her skin get like that? The moment I looked at what see was pointing at, though, that question immediately left my mind. She was pointing at a splicer's decaying corpse, but it looked… different, mutated even. Like the person was twisted by a chemical alteration.

"Holy… well we found it. Can we go now Sapphire?" I asked my daughter. How could she stand to look at that.. thing was beyond me.

"But daddy, we still need the angels in his belly," Sapphire said as if it were common sense. She was an enigma to me, but I still loved her to pieces.

I gave her a strange look, but sighed and said, "Fine do what you need to, but be fast or the splicers will find us."

"OK!" she chirped, ever smiling. She then went to the corpse and started to stab it with her needle, slowly filling it up with a red liquid. Then what I feared happened. Splicers started coming in freaking packs, intending to kill us both, knock us out, or force us off the property. I took out my tranquilizer pistol and started shooting at them, all my shots hitting the psychotic drug addicts.

'How'd they find us this fast' I asked myself. I noticed they were more focused on my little girl than trying to fight me, a blessing and a curse since it gave my time to reload and aim, but doing so put my little girl in danger. They started dropping from the darts but there were three left as I clicked out of darts, and I didn't have enough time to reload without taking heavy damage this time. One of them charged at me with a lead pipe aimed right for my head. As I readied myself to either catch or brace for a hit, something blocked the splicer's attack.

"About freaking time man! What took you so long to get here?" I asked the brawn of the group, Blade. He earned his name from his mastery of melee weapons. He was teaching me to use a knife so I wouldn't need to rely on my pistol so much. He was ruthless in battle, but a loyal friend once you earned his trust. He was also the guy I was getting the meds for when I met Sapphire.

"I lost my phone my phone so I needed to get an e-mail," he explained, pushing the splicer off him.

"That explains a lot." His internet sucked and everyone knew it. He made quick work of the last three splicers with his signature machete, slaughtering all of them. Sapphire was drinking the red stuff when I looked over to her. I won't judge. We ll got our quirks, even if hers is a little gross.

"Well thanks for the assi-" I started thanking my friend but was interrupted by my daughter.

"All done daddy!" she said to me smiling.

Blade looked at me questioningly as more splicers appeared. "Daddy?"

I looked at him awkwardly and said, "I can explain," as I leveled my pistol and knife to the enemies that definitely wanted to kill us now.
