Gonna try to update more frequently now that I have internet access again. Enjoy a new chapter.

We found a shed a hide out in until the splicers lost our trail. Then Blade asked the inevitable question. "Why did she call you daddy?"

"I found her crying over her old dad. I figured she needed a home and took her in. I wanted to give her a better life than I have," I explained.

"Well you better find a use for her here. Unless you want her to get killed by splicers that is," Blade told me. He was right. I needed her to be productive or she would get found by splicers. And from their reaction to her, I did NOT need that happening to her.

"There's an air vent over there that leads to the vault. She can hide in there and unlock the door from the inside if we send her in," I told him. Jake and I went over a plan before I went out on the heist. To protect the vault, they made it a regular door to throw off thieves, specifically me and my friends. How sad is that? "That way she'll be safe and we can fight without worrying about her to much."

"Good idea, now go tell her that. Oh and you might want to get that cut fixed up before you go out," Blade said before he went to wait by the door. I went over to Sapphire to tell her the plan.

"Hey sweetie," I said to my daughter, kneeling so I was level with her.

"Hmm?" she replied being brought out of her imagination. Her dress was a little bloody from the splicer blood.

"I need you to go through a vent to the vault. When I call to you on the other side, I need you to open the door for my and my friend. OK?"

"OK daddy. Huh?" She must have noticed my cut. "Hold still daddy," she said before injecting what ever was in the needle into my knee.

"Ow!" I said in pain as the red stuff went into my body.

"All better!" Sapphire said as she showed me my cut. It sealed up from that stuff I got injected into me.

'Wow she can heal?' I thought to myself.

"Thanks Sapphire," I smiled down, thanking my daughter. Suddenly I felt sick, like I was burning up. I brushed it off as the chemicals working on my wounds.

Outside we went to the vent with that feeling getting worse, but I stopped cold when Sapphire screamed. A splicer grabbed her, this one looking a lot like the one Sapphire harvested. Instead of the usual hostage tactic I was used to, he lifted her up and brought a knife to her stomach, intending to gut her for some reason.

"NO!" I yelled as I ran over, reaching for the splicer and rage filling me. I accidentally snapped and the splicer dropped Sapphire and the knife, the feeling leaving me in the process. I took her over to Blade who stared at me wide eyed, or at least I thought so since his mask covered his eyes and face. "What?" I asked as he pointed behind me.

"You set that guy on fire," he said stunned. I looked behind me and saw a charred splicer, clothes burning from my actions. I was bewildered that I could have done THAT to someone without some sort of help.

"I did that?" I asked out loud staring at my hands. 'What did Sapphire give me?' I thought as I looked at my smiling girl, who wasn't bothered by this at all.
