KAYLA POV

We had returned to underneath the McAshton Manor and we were in a cavern like space looking for the amulet. We didn't have much time.

We were walking and walking and walking until the vampire kids stopped short.

"You guys, we have to keep going!" I called to them.

"We can't go any further." Rudolph said. Anna, who was standing beside him, put her hand up, as if she were laying it on a wall, but there wasn't anything there. We walked back to them.

"Why not?" Tony asked. "This is important. You have to come."

"We cannot." Anna said sadly.

"There's something ahead. Some sort of curse." Rudolph said.

Tony shined his flashlight ahead of us. We saw nothing.

"Figures." I muttered.

"You'll have to go on ahead without us, Tony dearest." Anna said.

"I'm here too, you know." I said.

"Kayla, be careful. Promise me you'll be safe." Rudolph said.

"I'll be fine."

Rudolph hesitated for a second and then pulled me into a hug.

A moment later, he released me. "Go. We'll be waiting for you."

I nodded and Tony walked on, shining the light in front of us. We made our way through a narrow tunnel and continued on until we stopped in front of Elizabeth McAshton's coffin.

"We found it!" Tony called back to the vampires.

"Go see what's inside!" Anna responded. We could barely see them anymore.

We made our way towards the large stone container with chains over it.

"But be careful!" Rudolph called.

"Always." I responded.

"There's something written on here!" Tony exclaimed.

"What does it say?" Anna asked.

"Caveat vamptor" I read after squinting at it for a moment.

"Let the vampire beware. It's the curse." Rudolph translated.

"Stupid chains. Break! Break!" Tony said, pulling at the chains in vain.

"Tony. Tony! It's not going to work. We need a miracle."

As soon as I said that, dust began to fall from the ceiling.

"Oh no." I heard Rudolph murmur.

"Oh, yes!" Tony cheered; I pulled him far back into the shadows.

A drill broke through the ceiling and lowered itself down onto the coffin. It broke through the chains.

"Yeah!" Tony cheered once again.

"Well, that's a miracle if I ever saw one." I noted.

"The curse is gone!" Anna exclaimed as she and Rudolph ran to meet us.

We removed the chains and pushed the lid aside.

"It's Elizabeth." I breathed as I took in the sight of the beautiful woman from the visions. A man was lying next to her. Each had a stake in their chest.

"Uncle Von! Father was right; they did come here!"

"Oh, how romantic!" Anna crooned. "Their love, preserved forever."

"Not sure if romantic is the right word... morbid works, though." I said as Tony lifted the cord around Elizabeth's neck to find… nothing.

We all heaved a sigh of disappointment.

"The stone isn't here!" Tony said.

"Way to state the obvious." I snapped.

Tony was about to retaliate when my vision went black.

I saw Von and Elizabeth holding hands and running away from a horde of vampire hunters that were carrying torches. They chased them to… our house? Von tried to fight off the hunters while Elizabeth backed away. She entered the house and ran up the stairs. She darted into what is now Tony's room and shut the door. She stepped on a loose floorboard and ripped off the amulet and stuck it in a pouch and covered it with the board.

Seconds later the hunters burst in and that's when I woke up.

Rudolph was holding my head in his lap; apparently I had collapsed when the vision happened.

"Are you alright?" he asked quietly.

"Yeah."

"The stone's in my room!" Tony cried. "No wonder we had those dreams!"

"Let's go!" Anna said, racing back the way she had come. Tony followed her closely.

Rudolph helped me up. "Are you sure you're alright?" he asked worriedly.

"Positive. Now let's go." I said.

We took off after our younger siblings. The vampire children stopped short once again as we exited the tunnels. "What is it?" Tony asked.

"Gregory's making The Call." Rudolph answered.

"The what?"

"The Call. We must hurry. Anna, go to the cliffs. We'll find the stone."

"No. I am staying."

"Anna…" Rudolph growled.

"We don't have time for this. We need to get a move on." I said, grabbing Rudolph's hand. "To our house."

He looked down at our hands and took off, a slight smile on his face. Tony and Anna were close behind.

Soon we were at the house and we burst into Tony's room.

"Where is it?" Rudolph asked us.

"Somewhere around here!" Tony said, pulling the rug aside.

"How do you know?" Rudolph asked.

"How do I know? We saw it in a vision, didn't we, Kayla?"

"No need to bite my head off."

I rolled my eyes and handed a fire prodder to Rudolph and pointed at a floorboard. He pried it up and we dug around in the hay.

A light shone through the window and Rudolph shielded his eyes.

"Rookery! Hurry up, you guys!" I said urgently, digging even faster.

We heard him pounding on the door. Rudolph got up and pushed the wardrobe in front of the door while Tony and I kept looking.

Rookery was suddenly trying to knock down Tony's bedroom door as Tony's hand came up with the pouch.

"I found it! Let's go."

Just then Rookery burst through the wardrobe with another neon crucifix.

Rudolph hissed and stumbled aside.

Rookery held his hand out to him. "Hand it over."

"No, it doesn't belong to you!" Tony cried.

"Well, it belongs to me now." He clicked his fingers at Tony. "Give."

"Not without a fight." he said.

"Oh." Rookery said. "Well, I can't be bothered." And with that, he scooped Tony up and headed to the balcony.

"No!" I screamed. I kicked and punched but Rookery just slammed me into a wall. "That's my brother, you bastard!" I screamed.

"Tony! Don't give him the stone!" Rudolph shouted.

"Wasn't planning on it, dude!" was the response. Suddenly, Rookery just jumped off the balcony.

I screamed. For a second I thought he had killed himself and Tony, but after a moment I heard Tony screaming and fighting and I breathed a sigh of relief.

I turned to Rudolph. "Well, let's get him back! Don't just sit around!" we ran to the balcony and watched as Rookery drove away with Tony.

We jumped off and flew after him, Anna heading in the direction of the cliffs. We were witnessing a herd of cows blocking his path. It took me a moment to realize that they weren't regular cows. They must have been the ones the vampire family fed off of, because they were floating. Vampire cows. I never thought I'd see the day when that became a thing.

We descended in front of Rookery's parked truck and stared him down for a while. Suddenly he started the truck and Rudolph sent the cows stampeding forward. He shoved me out of the way and said "Stay back." Before following the cows.

I couldn't do anything but watch as the scene played out.

One cow actually shat on his windshield. The truck veered off the road and as his wipers tried to do their job, he crashed right into the McAshton golf course sign.

I saw Rudolph grasp Tony and pull him out of the truck. They looped back around and grabbed me, and we sped towards the cliffs. I looked back and saw Rookery's truck crash onto the sea. Did I feel bad? No. did I smile a bit? Yes.

"Hey guuuuys." Tony said in a sing song voice, holding up the stone.

"You've got it!"

"You've got the stone!"

"Yeah, I do!"

"Alright!" Rudolph shouted with a huge smile on his face. I'd never seen him so happy and I laughed out loud.

"Yeah! TONY POWEEEER!"
