Sup peoples, as you can see, I edited the title art. I think it came out rather good. Anyway, I am almost done with the introduction chapters. Yeah that was the intro chapters. A time skip will happen soon is why that happens. Well, on with the story, and remember to R&R.

We arrived at the house ready to fight and steal. As we went into the backyard, Sapphire tugged on my hand. I looked down to her and asked, "What is it Sapphire?"

"While you're down in the water, who's gonna protect me from the monsters?" she asked in a worried tone. I can't say I'm shocked though, those things traumatized her when they killed her old dad. But I knew who'd protect her with their life.

"Blade and Rose are going to protect you while I bring the platform up," I answered after crouching down to her level. "How about they bring you angel hunting to keep you busy?" That got her to perk up a bit. After all, she needed to do that to live since she needed Adam to sustain herself.

"Ok daddy!" she said happily, even with a mask on, I could tell she was smiling wide at me. I felt really happy for her. She had everything that she wanted, even if it was simple things. A family, someone to play with, enough adam to sustain her for years without a gather. I felt proud of myself for taking care of her.

As she skipped ahead to talk to Blade, Rose, or Thorn as we called her in missions, walked up to me, her porthole a calm yellow like mine. "She really thinks of you as a father figure doesn't she?" she asked my in a happy tone. She was a terror to enemies, and a softie to her friends.

"Yeah she does," I answered in a relaxed voice. "I did take her as my own and saved her life multiple times. I'd be surprised if she didn't." Simon and Sapphire were talking and laughing up ahead, probably at a joke or something.

"I'm glad she has someone after her Big Daddy died," she told me. "She would be dead by now if she didn't." As we came to the platform stop she said something to me. "Remember, that plasmid I gave you is for if you need a hand in battle. Use it when necessary."

My friends were on their way to a gather when I went into the lake. I used the propellers to get to the airlock at the bottom of the lake. I inside and ran into a splicer, but he didn't see me yet. I activated the research cam and started unloading at him with Frost Blast and Incinerate! until I got a report from the base. I got data on the 'thuggish' splicer, who apparently was weak against my hollow point bullets. As I continued, I hacked every safe, security camera, and turret I saw so I wouldn't have to worry about them later. So far I got $300 from safes and $149 from splicers. When I finally found the controls for the platform, there were five brute splicers defending it. I started recording and let loose with the attacks.

The first one fell to my gun's hollow point to the head, and then the second one grabbed my tail and swung me to a wall. Before I could get up, he grabbed me and started to strangle me while then others beat me from behind. I finally remembered the plasmid that Thorn gave to me when I heard a smashing noise, which I guessed was from the glass table I was thrown into. I grew a purple ball from my hand and threw it at the floor behind them. The leader charged at me as the camera stopped for the report. I had a new move, Wolf Lunge, which let me leap at my enemy to stab my tail into them and drain their Adam. Before the brute could hit me, a chair hit him from the side and changed his course. Thorn was here now, and she was pissed. She started throwing fireballs at the brutes as they tried to hit her with wreckage from the battle field. As they burned, I shot at them with my gun, which I set to full auto at this point. Two more fell to our combined wrath as we gave them hell. We ended up next to each other from our dodging, and the last two charged at us. I sent Frost Blast at both of them and they froze solid. Then Thorn let out an ungodly screech, which I later dubbed Siren Screech, and they both shattered and the glass cracked. We won this fight, so now we just needed to get our friends down so we could end this job.

"Nice," I complemented her for her performance.

"Thanks," she replied activating the platform. As we waited for our friends to come down so I decided to strike up a conversation.

"So how do you like the surface so far?" I asked, curious as to how she's adjusted.

"Well it's not paradise, but it's better than Rapture," she replied. After hearing her answer, I heard something else. A screech identical to her own coming from the direction of the treasure vault. I told her to wait there as I went to check it out. I punched in the vault combo and walked in to see a monstrosity. It was a big, bird like giant in the same type of armor me and Thorn wear. It looked at me, pain in it's glass covered eyes, just begging me to free it. I saw the console and was about to hit the switch when I saw two things. The first, a packet of sheet music, probably for the second thing, a pan flute like device. I grabbed both and hit the switch that released it. It smashed the glass in front of me and grabbed me, possibly it's form of a hug considering it was just freed. I then led it down the corridor to my friends, shell shocked at what they were looking at. "It's something called a Songbird, he's my new pet," I explained to them. Sapphire took an immediate liking to it and climbed onto it's back. With that, our job was over, and we went back to base with a new companion to protect us. Heh, that was two years ago. Two years, and the day before the event that would end the Black Stars. Simon's insanity growing too strong for medical expertiese to contain.

Yep, now the intro is nearing a close. What happens to Simon? What is the Songbird? Why is this story nothing but Shad's memory of two years previous to something? Find out next chapter.
