After the dream where Odette was given back the necklace she knew she had no other choice than to get stronger. When the monster wasn't looking Odette readied her mind, training with her new found abilities she found while held captive. She could feel herself get stronger with every day. You'll never know what you might find if you look deep inside yourself. Who knew right? But Odette's guard was always up when the monster was checking in on her, seeing if she was being a good little captive. She hated to be watched but she knew she only had to wait…
Wait until the monster's guard was down enough to strike a blow to break free.
She had it all planned…
Until one night…
"Night uncle." Odette said and kissed her uncle on the forehead. The monster allowed Odette out for the annual game night her uncle and Odette shared. It gave Odette air to breathe and allowed the charade to keep going that all was fine.
"Night sweetheart." He said with a soft smile. Her uncle thought things were getting better since she was acting more normal and herself in the past few months. Today was special though. "Happy birthday Odette." Odette stopped at the doorway, looking over her shoulder to smile at her uncle once more.
"Thanks Uncle Erik." Odette said and went upstairs to her room. Odette sat at the edge of her bed, looking at the mirror in front of her to see a twisted reflection. A woman with greasy blonde hair, black eyes, and gray skin.
"Happy birthday Odette." The monster sneered and Odette felt empty inside. She hated her birthday. There was nothing fun about it anymore. Sure, another year passed by and she was now twenty-four years old but she felt older than that. "Another year you're still alive. What fun we've had."
"Can I go now? You're talking is starting to bore me now." Odette said with a dull tone voice.
"Aww, what's the matter little bird? Can't fly away?" The monster teased and she stiffened. Right before her Uncle 'rescued' her the doctor did one last strike against her. One that left her scared forever.
The she felt the pull of the monster, shoving her back inside the cage she lived in. The monster laughed and then all went quiet. Odette laid on the ground of her cage and closed her eyes, willing herself to fall asleep. When she finally did the familiar swirls of rainbow colors brought tears to her eyes.
She knew where she was going…

When Odette's body and mind woke she was meet with the smell of flowers she remembers picking for a special day. The smell of the exotic flowers flashed her clear mind to a time of innocence of laugher and fun. She could feel the soft fabric of the special dresses made just for her against her skin like it was yesterday. The words of how beautiful she looked whispered softly in her ear as she opened her eyes to the perfected sun of Asgard.
Her home away from home.
She was lying in a field, dressed in a blood stained dress she remembers being stabbed in. That memory came crashing around her, causing her to run on her stomach to empty it. She hasn't seen that memory in her mind for years and she thought she was over it.
Getting to her feet Odette noticed she was in the palace gardens where she first met Thor and Loki looking for flowers for their mother.
Thor…Loki…
What would they look like now?
What are they even like?
Are they still the same goofballs or are they different?
That's when Odette noticed a figure in the distance staring at a statue. Odette made her way over to the figure to see that it was the one person she thought of as an actual mother to her.
"Frigga?" Odette asked as she got closer. The woman turned around and that's when Odette noticed that time had aged her just like it has Odette but that doesn't mean it has made her even less beautiful.
"Who…who are you? What are you doing here? You have no right!" Frigga demanded and it brought tears to Odette's eyes. She was always a stern woman but her heart was very big.
"Mom…" Something familiar came across the woman's face but she remained impassive. "It's me…Odette."
"Odette…" There it was. The loving familiarity that Frigga always looked at her when she spent time with her. It took Frigga a minute before the woman ran to embrace Odette. "Oh, by the gods where have you been?!"
"Mom I'm so sorry! I'm so sorry." Together they sank to the ground holding each other as they cried. "So much as happened."
"Where did you go? Hamdall couldn't even find you and we fears the worse. Thor…and Loki they cried and mourned you for days. What happened?" She asked me, holding on to my upper arms as she looked at me.
"You don't have much time…" A voice whispered in my head and I knew who it was warning me. "You will return."
"I don't have much time but I promise when I come back I will explain everything but…"
"What is it?"
"Something happened in my world and I'm not…myself. Something took over my body and I'm locked in my mind."
"Oh gods…" Frigga said in a soft voice.
"Next time I arrive I won't be…myself but the thing will be in control. If there is some way, anyway, you can separate us please…I need help I can't do this on my own Frigga." Odette said and Frigga brought the woman closer to her, holding her tight.
"I promise Odette I will find a way to help you. You are not alone, ever. We'll save you. How will I know it is you though?" Frigga could feel the woman fading from her and gripped her as tight as possible.
"When you think it is me, ask me to reach into my back pocket or any pocket. When she pulls out something you'll know it's me." Odette said.
"Alright. I promise I will ask that."
"I'm sorry…I'm sorry…"
With that Odette faded completely from the woman's embrace. Frigga was left alone crying for a child she thought she had lost only to lose her again. Next time she would stop at nothing to keep her here where she belongs.

Shadow Odette, as the real Odette likes to call the monster wearing her skin, woke to an unfamiliar bed she knew something was up. This wasn't her master's magic and this wasn't her masters' master's power either so it must be that damn bitch's magic that brought her here. She felt Odette awake and smile in the back of her head so she shut the witch down, locking her even more away than ever.
"I'm not letting you go." Shadow Odette growled and went to the door. She swung it open and picked a direction to go in, hoping to get out of the palace before any guards' caught her.
Or worse…
The princes…
Something happened a few nights ago that made her unable to sense Odette's presence to which she kept a close eye on her since then.
"Damn it." Shadow Odette cursed when three guards caught sight of her and demanded her to stop. She turned around and tried to go in the other direction but two other guards boxed her in.
Caught like a rat.
"Let me go!" Shadow Odette commanded as they took hold of her arms, practically dragging her to the one place she knew would have to play her cards right to get out of this situation. When the guards opened the doors to the throne room where the royal family was waiting her blood ran cold at the sight of the queen.
She knew.
Odette managed to get a word out for help.
Stupid bitch is ruining everything.
Her master is going to kill her if she managed to escape this alive.
"By order of King Odin of Asgard I order you to tell me how you came to be here." The stupid king demanded of Shadow Odette and she rolled her eyes. The guards whacked her in the back of her knees, forcing her to the ground. "Enough!" The king boomed. She moved her black hair out from her eyes to look up at the royal family. "Answer."
"Why should I after your guards harm me for not answering fast enough?" Shadow Odette sneered.
"How dare you talk to my father that way?!" The blond prince yelled and Shadow Odette smirked. This is the prince Odette preferred.
"So what? He's not my king and he doesn't control me. I don't know how I got here, I just woke up in an empty room." Shadow Odette answered and she swore their faces looked like they heard this story before. "Can't you just send me home?"
"Hamdall can send her home." The dark hair prince said before not really cared what happened next.
"Guards send her to Hamdall. See to it that he also erases her memory as well." The king sighed and dismissed her. When she went to turn the queen spoke up.
"You look familiar. Have you been here before?" The queen asked.
"Of course she hasn't been here mother, just look at her clothing." The blond prince said with a laugh.
"If it's not too much to ask, can you reach into your pocket?" The queen asked with soft smile but Shadow Odette just rolled her eyes, reaching into her pocket only to freeze.
She couldn't…
She threw that thing into the ocean…
Shadow Odette brought out the one thing that was unknowingly in her pocket, holding it tightly in her hands. Hoping they wouldn't notice what she pulled out.
"What is in your hand human? My mother demands you show it to her." The dark haired prince said with his eyes narrowed. Taking a breath Shadow Odette held out her hand, allowing to chain to hang from her finger.
The royal family's faces grew of shock once they saw the golden swan necklace that was right in front of their faces.
"How did you come by that necklace?! Only one person should have that!" The blond prince shouted in anger and I smirked.
"That's because she did have it. Until I took it and threw it in the ocean. You should have seen her face when I tossed it away. She was so heart broken." Shadow Odette smirked with a wicked grin.
"She's dead." The dark haired prince said.
"Oh you think? Yeah, I don't think so. She's been…somewhere. She had a lovely time with my master though. She was his favorite play thing. Oh the sounds she made behind closed doors." Shadow Odette laughed at the princess' faces. The blond one got pretty angry that he started to march forward. Shadow Odette forced pushed the guards behind her away then turned on the prince. "Hold it right there prince-y. You wouldn't want to hurt your little bird would you?"
"Of what did you speak? Answer!" The blond prince demanded.
"Who do you think this body belongs to?" Shadow Odette started to laugh at his face.
She wasn't going down without a fight.
She's keeping this body.
Even if she has to destroy it.
Her master would understand wouldn't he?
If he couldn't have this body, then the royal family couldn't as well.
