I'm really sorry for not updating but I promise that I am back! It's been hard the past couple of months but I'm not going to stop. I hope you all enjoy it! I'm also trying a different point of view as well.
~oOo~
"You lie! She is dead! I watched her die!" The blond prince argued to the familiar figure that stood before him. Hair back as night, piercings with her gray skin were unfamiliar with her dark eyes that meant nothing to him. But in his heart, Thor knew that something was wrong…and how her words spoke truth and lies.
"So you would think! Did you not go to earth to see her grave her parents dug for her or did you simply assume that she was seeing as though her blood ran from your hands?" The figure laughed and the princes clenched their fists.
"She's alive?" The dark hair prince spoke up and looked towards his brother. "You said she was dead!"
"She is! She died in my hands!" The blond prince roared at his brother.
"Silence!" The king boomed and the figure continued to laugh. She laughed at their pain, their madness to find the truth but it was the queen who wasn't laughing or speaking. She remained quiet, passive, and continued to look at the dark figure in front of her.
"What's the matter queenie? Can't stand to see your little baby suffer? Trust me when I say that she kept calling your names; over and over for you all to save her." The royal family all turned their attention to her. "Thor! Loki! Please, help me! Save me!" The figure cried out and pretended to weep. "Her suffering caused my master more pleasure than anything on earth. Her screams like music and her broken body like a trophy on my mater's shelf. Once he has his fill he gave me her mind, her body for me to use and trust me when I say that I'm not one to give up my toys to anyone."
"You lie!" The blond prince turned towards his father. "She lies father! Odette is dead, this thing is mocking us and our pain. Allow me to kill it." The prince drew his hammer but the figure stood where she was.
"She does not lie." The queen spoke and all eyes were on her. "She speaks the truth. Odette lives but not for much longer." She turned towards her dark haired son. "Loki, I will need your assistance on this."
"Don't touch me." The woman with black eyes growled but it was too late. Frigga, with what magic she knew, and Loki quickly trapped the woman. She struggled, growled, and snarled at them. Odin watched with careful eyes from where he sat, making sure his wife knew what she was doing but with a nod of her head he knew she needed to do this.
And he was behind her no matter what.
"Thor, when I say, pull Odette out." Frigga said and Thor just stood there, blank faced and ignoring the directions given to him by his mother. He just simply stared at the woman who fought against her restraints. There was this sick feeling in his gut and he kept thinking back to that night were the person closest to him than his parents was ripped away from him; his heart being into pieces before turning into ash.
He's never loved anyone like he loved Odette.
Now, she's here and it's not here.
No…no this thing is not her.
Odette is dead.
"Thor! When you see he hand, grab her and pull her out!" Frigga said as they began pumping energy into the woman. She screamed and tried to free herself but years of sitting; doing nothing but acting human has left its mark on the monster. She's too weak to fight back, too weak to keep the cage Odette is in closed. The monster squeezed the binds on Odette but felt she too was fighting back, her energy stronger than the monsters.
The monster fought back with all it could but the glass was breaking inside.
And as soon as the glass broke, Odette took her chance to free herself; reaching inside the light from within her darkness of her prison. Arm stretched out, she dove into the light.
When a hand came from the chest of the dark haired woman did Thor actually start to believe that maybe it was true that Odette was still alive. The golden hair prince grabbed the hand and pulled back. A person came from the woman's chest as his brother and mother continued to push energy towards her. The dark haired woman's skin turned black and scaly as the it's prisoner left its mind. It growled and snarled once the woman collapsed on the floor in a heap. Thor just left her there, his eyes never leaving the golden hair he thought he would never see again but then again…this woman was dead.
"Enough!" The monster screamed to push the queen and prince back. Odin went to his queen while his son got to his feet. The monster snarled and lashed out but her eyes then locked on the woman who lay on the floor, a wicked smile coming to her face. "Not so tough now are you little bird? Even now that you're free, you are nothing!" Loki charged at the monster but she threw him back. The monster looked a Thor who simply stood there, it's smile gracing its lips grew bigger. "What's the matter your highness? Does the truth turn to ash on your tongue?" There was silence… "Where's your voice or have you lost that drive you had to protect your precious princess? No matter, you'll be joining her soon." The monster pulled back its hand to attack Thor but she was stopped…
Thrown back against the golden doors of the throne room.
"Don't you dare touch him or my family ever again!" The golden blond haired woman who laid on the ground started to get up slowly. Once she got to her feet she turned to look the monster in the eyes.
"Seems you escaping didn't kill you. How unfortunate." The monster growled as it stood up. "But I'll change that." The monster made a blade appear and threw it at the woman but something blocked the woman from getting hurt.
Something white…
With feathers…
"No…I RIPPED THOSE THINGS OFF!" The monster screamed as the wings retracted from circling the woman from harm.
"So you would think. How many years I spent healing, buying my time, conserving my energy so that when I had the chance I would break you like you tried to break me." Odette took a step forward as the royal family watched on in shock.
"I DID BREAK YOU!" The monster screamed again and threw another knife but it still didn't harm the woman.
"You were wrong." The wings enveloped Odette as a light shone under them. As the wings pulled back the monster's eyes widened at the armor the woman changed into. The golden hair woman marched towards her, summoning a staff she used to push the monster back to the floor. "Years, you've abused me." Another whack at her. "Years, you've tortured me."
Another.
"Years, you've told me that I would die inside my own head."
Odette threw the woman up to the ceiling before launching her back down to the floor.
"Years, you told me that I would never escape."
The monster growled and launched itself at Odette who threw the thing back.
"Years, you told me they were dead!"
Odette took hold of the monster, throwing it to the wall to hold it there.
"So what are you going to do now little bird? Kill me? Destroy me? When my master finds out that I have failed he will come for you and your family. There is no where you can hide or flee to where he won't find you. He will kill you like he should have done when you were at your weakest." The monster spat its dark black blood at Odette but the woman didn't flinch.
"He should have but now…he's going to regret that." Odette said a few words before the floor opened up. "I'm not going to kill you but instead, I'm sending you back to your master so he knows you failed. And if he wants me dead so bad then tell him that he needs to come kill me himself instead of his bitch to screw it up. I am the priestess! And no one threatens my family." With that Odette threw the monster into the hold before it disappeared altogether.
Things were quiet as the woman faced where the hole once was. She couldn't bring herself to turn around to look at the family she lost all those years ago. She could feel all the energy she built up slip through her fingers as her armor faded away into what she was wearing before she was parted from the monster. It's been years since she felt the weight of her wings at her back and how the wind that blew through the open windows made her hair tickle her face. Odette looked down at her hands and just touched it to make sure she truly was free.
"Odette?" Frigga's voice snapped the woman out of her thoughts and she took a breath before turning around to face them. All four of them were standing together, look at the woman who was across the room.
"Long time no see guys." And with that the woman fainted.
~oOo~
"My Lord, my lady you need to see this." The head healer said to the king and queen before ushering them inside the healing room. When the woman fainted Loki appeared by her side to catch her as she fell. The king and queen then rushed to her side as well, all except Thor who continued to remain still as a statue. The royals then ushered her to the healing rooms where she was taken from Loki's arms; the door closing in his face. Frigga told her son to look after Thor while she and her husband waited for news about Odette. Loki was reluctant but did as he was told.
While the king and queen waited they shared looks of worry with each other. What could have happened in the years Odette was missing in their lives? What happened to her? Could they have done anything? Should they have looked for her on earth? So many unanswered questions…
"How is she?" Frigga asked as they approached the woman who lay on the crisp clean bed. The queen gasped as she saw the scars on the woman's arms and feared the worst as she stood over the bed. The woman's wings were still extending, draping over the floor in feather like curtains.
"Recovering but it is what we found to be the most shocking." The head healer turned to the assistant who awaited orders. "Show them." The assistant nodded before gently moving the woman so they could see her bare back. Frigga was almost brought to tears when she saw the scars littered all over Odette's back. "Almost fifty different scars at varying healing times."
"What happened to her?" Frigga took the woman into her arms and held her as her husband looked on.
"She was tortured my queen. In the worst ways I imagine. They're all over her body and I fear what else they may have done. If your permission, I would like to…further see." The head healer asked with her eyes cast down to the ground.
"You do not think…" Odin questioned and the woman shook her head.
"I do not know my king but from the scars on her wings…anything could be possible."
"They cut off my child's wings." Frigga wept and held the woman tighter, minding the wings.
"They did more than that my queen. There are scaring in between the feathers which suggest that they…" The healer couldn't finish her sentence.
"What did they do?!" Frigga commanded.
"They plucked them off before severing them from her completely."
"When will she wake?" Odin demanded. His face was stern and like stone but inside, he wept just like his queen before him.
"I do not know my king. She could wake tomorrow or in a few days. It's hard to know about how much trauma she has been under without questioning her." The head healer said and bowed before her king.
"I want you to full check her and make sure she is in no pain. I will station guards outside of her room until she is awoken and no one but the royal family and your staff are allowed to enter. Is that understood?" Odin demanded.
"Yes my king. I will do as you ask." The healer bowed once more before leaving his king and queen. Once they were gone the king walked to the other side of the bed to sit next to Odette who still was in his wife's embrace.
"Odin what will we do? How could we allow something like this to happen?" Frigga cried and her husband wiped the remaining tears away from her face.
"I will summon Heimdall and see what he knows. We will fight through this my queen." Odin said to Frigga.
"We left her alone…"
"And she will never leave us again. Not if we have a chance to keep her here."
"And the boys? Did you see the way Thor looked at her? It was like she wasn't even real to him."
"He will come around. It has been a long day for us, for all of us. We will see what tomorrow brings but until then Odette needs her rest. She would not want you to cry over her like you lost her again." Odin stood up and walked around to take hold of his queen's shoulders. "Come now. You need rest after the magic you used today. You can visit her tomorrow with the boys." Frigga adjusted the woman before the two of them took their leave.
Tomorrow will be different.
Tomorrow is the start of starting over…
