A vision of hell itself

please don't hate me for making this update so late I have just really been caught up. But I will be putting up another one tomorrow for sure. Please review :)

A horde of immense size could be seen no more than a mile away, their shambling movements and moans distinct even from afar. "Oh my god...Sam what are we going to do?" "We need to evacuate everyone from the camp now before the horde reaches us. C'mon." I was tempted to tell him to start on his own while i went to fimd John but I could hear the fear in his voice, it would worry him to no end if I left now. "Ok. Lets go." I tried to stay as calm composured as possible as we ran from tent to tent, telling the normal seeming folks who resided there to pack their essentials and start heading towards the main road. But as I kept seeing fear spike in the eyes of those who knew what this meant I felt my cool composure begin to slip, and by the time we got back tp Katrina's tent my face was one of panick. "Katrina we have to go-" "Go where? Is something wrong?" My hand immediately went to grasp my gun that wasn't there and I turned around to see Sarah, knife in one hand and my gun in the other, her eyes emotionless as she quickly slashed Sam across the throat. "Sarah nooo!"

I hear Katrina scream loudly as blood sprayed from Sam's neck and showered my front, making my eyes close for a moment as I tried to wrap my mind around what was happening. Sarah was...aligned with John? But why? She was always a bit pushy but she was so sweet when you knew her and she was always true to her word. "Wren help him he's dying!" As if I was awoken from a dream state my eyes snapped back open and I looked down to see Sam laying at my feet, his hands clutching at his neck but blood continued to pour from the wound. Without thinking I started ripping off my button up, dropping to my knees as I did so, and pressed the cloth against his neck to try and stop the bleeding, but it just kept coming like a violent river of red. Staining my ivory skin and giving literal meaning to my nickname Sam had given me. "It's alright it looks like the blood is slowing down. Katrina can patch you up you'll be fine Sam..." I knew he could still hear me because his head slowly turmed towards me, his striking blue eyes now becoming dull and the life leaving them quicker than i'd like, and his mouth turned up in a weak attempt at a smirk. And even though he was dying the gesture had more life behind it than ever before. " You know damn well that's a lie Red, I don't have much left in me so please just listen." I tried not to cry as his words came out gurgled from all the blood but a few traitor tears escaped my eyes and fell, landing on my blood covered hands.

"Hurts to lose someone close doesn't it? Gives you pain in your chest almost like you were stabbed. I know who you are Wren, or should I say Orella?" I looked up at Sarah's cold emotionless face, her hand shaking as she pointed my own gun in my face, angry tears sliding down her cheeks. "Just wait *cough* a second. Red, don't let this world change who you are..." I winced as he wheezed heavily and spit up more blood, he was on his last breath now. "Keep your friends close...and make every shot count. See ya on the other..." "Sam...Sam? Sam?!" I watched horrified as the light finally left his eyes and his head lolled to the side, his chest still as the last of his life left him and he let out his final breath. " Well damn I thought he was actually gonna make it. Good kid but he talked too much." How could he say that? I could barely register what he was going on about over Katrina practically wailing and Sarah shouting something incoherent while waving the gun in my face. "Keep your friends close...and make every shot count. Keep your friends close..." Sams last words rang with purpose through my mind, the fuel for what I was about to do for the sake of Katrinas and my own lives. "Sarah stop being such a little bitch!" The tent grew quite, aside from the ever growing sound of moans outside, and I saw that the gun lowered slightly away from my face and had stopped shaking. "W-what?" Gaining more confidence I stood slowly, the gun still following my every move but her eyes now holding hesitation. "I know that you really like Mike and what happened was awful, its's something I wish never happened. But you need to stop living in the past and letting John manipulate you, this isn't who you are."

At first as I was talking I could see her begin to see reason, but something about the last part must have struck a nerve and her eyes narrowed as she took a step closer, wavimg the gun a bit. "This isn't who I am? Who the fuck are you to tell me who I am?! You aren't even who you said you were! Why should I listen to that shit coming out of your mouth?" "She's right you know, why should she listen to you?" No he couldn't ruin this for me, not this time. "Because, i'm not the one who killed Mike...he is." "...what?" "That's right. John had a setup for the recon group and led them right into a big group of parasites-" "Lying bitch! Don't listen to her Sarah!" Got em. I knew by the way his voice changed from calm to agitated that I had him on edge now, and I knew that being the observant scout Sarah is she did too. Slowly, without breaking eye contact, she turmed the gun towards John amd Katrina, a sarcastic chuckle leaving her lips. "Is that...is that true? You set up your own scouts?" "Sarah it wasn't like that-" "You fucking killed him so you could look like some hero when you killed those lumbering dead assholes! All you care about is recognition right John? Well here I am, recognizing you now!" But just as I was sure that she was going to pull tje trigger John yelled in pain and Katrina rolled away from him, taking on a defensive stance beside me. "What the-" Again Sarah was caught off guard and as she turned to watch Katrina John walked up to her, put his gun to her temple, and before she could react he pulled the trigger. I watched with a sad stair as blood stained the ground once more and another body hit the ground beside Sams, it was time to end this.

"Katrina run." "But Wren-" "Go now dammit! Run!" John hand't moved the whole time, he just wiped his gun off while slowly shaking his head, only when he was finished did he look up at me, dissapointment lacing his stare. "She had so much potential, they both did. But you had to come along and end both their lives. Well I promise you that they were your last victims because this ends now."

"She should have been here by now Charlie, it's almost past sunset and the dark is too dangerous, even for Orella." "Should we go get her?" The two had been waiting for their dear friend for two hours and now they began to worry that something had gone wrong. She was always on schedule if everything goes well with an errand, but if it takes more time than she's said...he had to go find her before it was too late. But right before Slender could make a move towards the empty looking camp a scream made him turn around sharply, tentacles raised and ready to kill. "Get off!" He watched as Charlie tried to fend off three of those disgusting dead, more appearing through the trees rapidly, and he quickly wrapped a tentacle around her body to pull her away just in time. She turned to him, eyes wide with adrenaline and fear and her breathing rapid from the close call, yet she still smiled as she looked at him. "Thanks." "You are welcome." As he set her back on her feet they quickly began to move towards the camp, more dead coming up over the ridge in what seemed to be a large horde, their teeth gnashing as the smell of fresh meat driving them on no matter what. "I will search one half if the camp while you get the-" *Bang!* Both of them froze as a loud gunshot rang out across the field followed by yells of defiance and retalliation, "I'm not letting you leave here alive!" Then two figures could be seen running, one after the other, outowards them before the one in the back tackled the first one aggresively towards the ground, a grunt of pain escaping their lips. At first it was impossible to know who they were, but at they continued to struggle Slender saw her familiar red hair and golden eyes as she looked up, a fiery determination in them that was also laced with fear. "Orella!"
