First and foremost, I AM SO SORRY IT'S BEEN AGES SINCE I'VE UPDATED. I'm back at Uni which means classes and rugby season took over. I do apologize. But I swear I'll get back into the swing of things. Somehow.. Cheers!
"He just left you there?!" Danny's voice was piercing over the phone, Jackson was still in horrible pain from Derek's teeth ripping through his shoulder just hours before. Danny was in the middle of a long rant that, while it was out of concern, it made Jackson want to break something. "Danny.." he tried to cut in. "..Danny, listen," he tried again. "Danny!" Jackson boomed. "What?!" "I'm fine, listen, I have to go, I'll see you back at Carmine later." "Wait, Jackson-" before Danny could finish, Jackson hung up the phone and shoved it into his pocket as he slowly made his way off the ground and to his car.
After checking the time he had realized he'd been out for a few hours, I must have passed out from the pain. Jackson unlocked his Porsche and threw his bag inside, slowly bending down to sit in the driver's seat. Pulling down the visor so he could get a better look at the bite in the mirror, Jackson smiled as he traced the outline of where Derek's teeth sunk into his flesh. Though his shoulder hurt right now, he knew it was worth it. Soon, it'll heal and he'll be just as powerful as Scott, maybe even Derek. Now it's my turn. I'll show them. They'll see how great I am now that we're on level playing ground. Jackson started the engine and drove back to his dorm, met by a waiting Danny outside with a First-Aid kit and a million questions.
"Good morning and welcome to 9 News. I'm Melissa Ponzio," "And I'm Adam Fristoe," "And today we'll be talking with local professor, Dr. Alan Deaton, on what to look out for tonight as it's the first full moon of the new semester at Beacon Hills Academy." "That's right Melissa, tonight we'll be giving you tips on how to stay safe as some of the students will be experiencing their first full moon ever." "How are you today, Dr. Deaton?" "It's 4:30 in the morning but I'm good, Adam thank you for asking," Deaton laughed. "Alright, well we'll see you after this short break for Full Moon 101."
"Now, Dr. Deaton, how long have you been teaching at Beacon Hills?" Deaton laughed, "A lot longer than I'd like to admit to." As the group laughed, the screen behind them shifted and changed from the normal 9 News logo to a full moon and a heinously drawn werewolf howling at it. "Now, exactly how many new wolves would you say will be experiencing the full moon tonight?" Adam took a sip of coffee as he finished his question. "Well Adam, at the academy, we have about 3,000 students. Now, how many of those are "new wolves" as you've said, there's probably close to 100 of them documented." "One hundred werewolves have been turned this semester?" Melissa cut in, shocked. "No, not necessarily turned. As far as just turned, there's probably closer to 20 or so. But we classify wolves just a few months old as new. Ones who've only been bitten for a short while, even if they've been through a full moon, still encounter many problems during their future full moons." Deaton paused to take a small drink of coffee before continuing. "Now, as far as undocumented wolves go, there's really no way of telling just how many there are. That's why civilians need to be prepared. The new wolves at the academy will be looked after, it's the ones that aren't a part of our student body that we're concerned with."
"Uh, what?" "I need to change my student status. I'm not in training to be an emissary anymore." "Mr. Whittemore, I understand how you've disliked those classes since you've been here, but no amount of money donated from your father-" "Listen lady, I'm not human anymore." Jackson jerked down his collar to show the new scar formed on his shoulder. "I'm a wolf now," he smirked. "Oh dear.." the woman muttered. "Right. Uh, just a moment." The woman stood quickly and went deeper into the hallway, soon returning with the headmaster. "Now, what's this I hear of you not being "human" Mr. Whittemore?" The man approaching Jackson was small and spoke in a thick European accent. Jackson Pulled down his collar again, less aggressive now as he recognizes the man as one of his father's important business associates. "Ah, right. Well Mr. Whittemore, congratulations, you can grow a beard at will." The man turned to the woman, "Felisha, see to it Mr. Whittemore's papers are changed. He needs a new schedule and a new adviser. Send him to Deaton. One last thing," the man turned to Jackson, "Who bit you?"
The question caught Jackson off-guard. "Uh, why?" he asked, confused. "Because if it was a student they face severe consequences for biting another student during the semester. We can't control what you do on your own time but during school, alphas have strict regulations they must follow in order to remain here. Now, who bit you Mr. Whittemore?" the man asked, more impatient. Jackson panicked. While he didn't exactly care what happened to Derek for breaking the rules, he was grateful he gave him the bite. Even if it was just because he had pissed him off and Derek wanted to cause him some pain. Mostly, Jackson was afraid of what Derek would do to him. He had heard of the power alphas have over the betas they create, he remembered the bus driver Peter tried and almost succeeded making Scott kill. He remembered all the stories he'd been told in class and how you shouldn't anger a werewolf, but especially not an alpha. Now that Jackson was a wolf too, yes it made them more equal, but it also gave Derek an entirely new list of things he could do to Jackson and get away with because he's a wolf. "Mr. Whittemore!" the man shouted, clearly angered by Jackson ignoring his question. "I'm going to ask you one more-" "It wasn't a student. No one you even know," Jackson grabbed the papers the woman had been waiting to hand him and left the office before he could be questioned anymore.
"Welcome back to 9 News, I'm Melissa Ponzio," "And I'm Adam Fristoe, and we're here with local professor Dr. Alan Deaton, giving you tips on how to stay safe this full moon." "Dr. Deaton," Melissa started, "As a "new wolf", what exactly is to be expected from them? What are they capable of?" Dr. Deaton thought for a moment about how to answer the question. "Well Melissa, really..anything is possible. Like a vampire, werewolves are strongest after they've first been turned. Their bodies are still trying to find that perfect middle ground between wolf and human. Their speed and power has been extremely enhanced. But there's mental danger as well." "Mental danger? Now, what exactly does that mean?"
"When a human gets bitten, they not only receive new physical attributes of a wolf, like appearance, speed strength, they also receive a wolf's senses and animalistic instincts. That's why a full moon is so dangerous in, 'newborns'," Deaton chuckled, "Forgive me for my Twilight reference. But in a sense that's what they are. Their blood-lust will be peaked tonight. The wolf in them will want to take over and destroy anything in their path." "Right, and folks that's why it's extremely important for you to follow all the rules we discuss tonight. We'll post them on our Facebook page for your reference later as well."
