Well July 22nd. The 4 year anniversary of when I published this story. Yes it has been that long and no I am not proud of how long it took but I still loved the end result. Keep on reading for you are in for a surprise. Two surprises.

You only Live Twice

Lilly jumps down and runs towards her father who is fighting off Tony as more wolves fought around them. "You don't have to do this Tony!" Winston yelled.

"Yes I do! They are nothing but a bunch of useless pathetic omegas!" Tony scratched Winston across the face.

"Dad!" Lilly yelled after her father which turned out to be a great mistake.

Winston and Tony turn to look at Lilly but Winston is more concerned as to why Lilly isn't pregnant anymore and thinks she already gave birth. Tony on the other hand looks back at Winston and uses his daze to quickly bite him in the back. "AHHH!" Winston yells as he lunges out of the way but the damage had been done.

Lilly knew this wasn't her real dad as her real dad was a far better fighter but she still had feeling for him since well his was her dad in another dimension. She did not stop running with Humphrey right on her back as everywolf suddenly started to feel a rumble under their paws. "Oh no! Humphrey! The stampede!"

The fighting had stopped too as all the other wolves looked to see the stampede heading their way. Someone yelled, "RUN!" and everybody started heading off in the opposite direction and trying to get up on the ledges away from the heard. Lilly and Humphrey were the only ones to be heading towards the caribou as Winston and Tony were at the very end but Winston falling behind because of his injured back.

"Humphrey! Hurry! My dad is falling behind!" She says as she runs past Tony with a female wolf heading the other direction.

"We are never going to make it!" he said looking at his surroundings and spotting a lose vine nearby with a branch underneath.

"We have to! Dad!" she got to him and helped him run away from the caribou.

"No! Lilly! Keep running the other way! Towards that vine!" he said moving his head in the direction to make sure they could see it.

Lilly quickly changed her course and headed over there as Humphrey caught up and they both had Winston from each side. "Humphrey! You better be right about this!"

"I hope so too!" he said as they got close. "Okay Winston you need to get on our backs and jump!"

"Humphrey! I'm too weak right now! I'll never make it!" Winston said as they got him onto their backs.

"Just try! Me and Lilly will push you up as much as you can. The ledge isn't that far up!" he yelled as he ran the caribou getting closer and closer.

Winston did as he was told and pressed down on their backs and right when he pushed up they jumped up to and he easily made it over the edge but landed kind of harshly as his back gave off a sharp jab.

"Okay Lilly! You and me need to keep running and jump on that branch sticking out and then swing up with the vine right there!"

"How will we both be able to get on it!?"

"You'll have to grab onto my tail!" he said knowing how much it was going to hurt as they got closer and closer the caribou mere yards from them. "Okay ready?"

"No!" she said as she followed but knew she didn't have a choice.

Humphrey was right in front of her this time and managed to jump up onto the branch with his back legs and then jumped up to grab the vine with his jaw. Lilly was right behind him and jumped onto the branch also but as her back legs made contact with the branch she heard a cracking sound and when she pushed off it snapped and did not launch her up as far as she wanted to go but barely just barely grabbed onto Humphreys tail as he swung up. He had a powerful urge to yelp but that would mean doom for them both. The force Lilly gave onto him was enough to swing them a ways but it wasn't till they swung back that Lilly and Humphrey quickly grabbed onto the ledge and hoisted themselves up.

Most of the rest of the wolves were already up on the ledges but Tony and the female wolf were both right in the center of the caribou as they started surrounding them. It looked utterly utterly hopeless for the leader of the eastern pack.

Lilly was the first to look up to see if everybody had made it and she saw the two wolves running away. "Oh no Humphrey! We need to save them!" she made a break for them from up above.

"Ouch!" Humphrey said knowing his tail was scarred for life. "Lilly! Wait! How the heck are we going to…" he looked at some of the trees on the right of them and noticed one was dead along with the fact that the hillside they were on was at an incline down that would give them the perfect momentum they would need and could probably rocket up into the air and make a little shield in the middle to get Tony and the female to safety. He wasted no time as Lilly kept running.

Lilly was panting hard and losing steem when suddenly she felt something on her butt. She yipped as she fell back onto it and landed on Humphrey. "Ohh! Watch the baby makers! If my kids don't make it out of this I might want to try again," he said as they went down on a half log."

"Humphrey! It's happening! This is what happened in my world! Just totally different!"

"Yeah I still don't get half the stuff you say when you talk about…Winston!"

"Winston?" Lilly was confused as she was looking back at Humphrey that whole time. She noticed he was looking forward with wide eyes and turned to see what he was worried about. "Dad!" she yelled as she saw they were headed right for him.

He had just gotten up and saw that they were coming at him really fast. "Oh!" BAM! He got hit by the log and was now riding in the front of the three wolved vehicle. "AHHHH!"

"Hey dad!" Lilly yelled a little scared too.

"Hey dad," Humphrey said to his step father as they rode down the hill. They traveled quite a bit till they finally passed Tony and Humphrey knew it had to be now or never. "Okay everybody jump when I say jump!" he said holding onto the edge as he aimed it out towards the middle of the stampede. "JUMP!" All three of them jumped up and were sent out flying. The log landed a short ways away from Tony and the female wolf. They ran towards it and got behind it so the caribou would run around them.

Humphrey, Lilly and Winston landed a ways away with a thud. "Ouch!" Lilly yelped as she landed and then looked up. "Quickly! Get behind the log. Don't jump up for any reason," she said as she crawled on the floor much like when Humphrey and Kate crawled. She also remembered what happened to Kate when she tried to get there quicker. After just a little bit of crawling and just a couple of hits, nothing serious, they got behind the log and watched as the caribou passed them.

"I…" Tony said between pants, "I don't…believe this."

"What?" Winston said as he laid back. "That the Western Pack saved the leaders of the Eastern Pack?"

"No. That two omegas managed to save the two lead alphas from a heard of caribou."

"Two lead?" Lilly asked wondering who the female alpha was.

"Yeah. Me and my wife," Tony said as he let Lilly look at her.

"Yo-your wife?" Lilly said completely flabbergasted.

Humphrey realized she was surprised and tried to steer the conversation, "So Tony. What do you have to say about the omegas now?"

Winston chimed in, "Yes. How do you feel about being saved by two 'useless pathetic omegas' hu?" He said paraphrasing what Tony had said just a few minutes ago.

Tony thought about it for a second as he looked at his wife, "Grateful. We are sorry for how we've been treating the omegas lately," he said hanging his head in shame.

Tony's wife, Garths mother, chimed in, "Yes. We have now realized what a horrible mistake we have made."

"With all due respect Winston… we would like to reunite the packs and follow under your leadership."

Lilly's eyes brightened up, Humphrey smiled, and Winston nodded, "That's all I've ever wanted for all the wolves in this park. Peace and unity. Of course you guys can come back."

The heard started dying down as Tony and Winston shook paws. All the other wolves were on the ledges waiting to see what had become of the two leaders. As the caribou died off and the dust cleared the four wolves walked up to all the wolves. Tony stepped forward, "After much consideration, I have realized what I did was wrong. Winston has kindly accepted us back into the pack. We hope you all agree to stick with the smart and resourceful omegas who saved the lives of two stupid alphas who thought they were smarter than anybody else."

The two packs cheered as they heard the news and started making amends. Lilly was smiling so hard she thought her face would get stuck that way. She almost forgot that this wasn't her world and that she should lay low. Luckily Humphrey reminded her. "Lilly," he whispered.

"Hm? What?"

"We should get going before too many wolves ask questions."

"Oh right," she sighed, "I just hope things are going well in the other world," she said walking with Humphrey to her cave.

Kate and Garth had called the two packs to the center ground where the caribou stampeded the first time. The two packs reluctantly agreed. At the center was Kate, Winston, Garth, and Tony who were already in agreement. The started talking with all the wolves around to try and settle things like wolves. Lilly unable to figure out how to cover herself was stuck with Humphrey looking over the edge off the side of a cliff.

"You sure this will work?" Humphrey asked listening to the speech.

"It has to. If not then the universe was wrong in picking me to come here."

As Tony and Winston were making their speech the two wolves that ambushed Tony before showed up. Garth and Kate both got into a battle stance remembering the two wolves. "These two wolves are liars!"

The other wolf also joined in. The one with a limp. "Winston and Tony just want what's best for themselves! Maybe we were wrong to separate! I ask now that all the alphas join forces for a better tomorrow. It was a big misstate allowing alphas and omegas to intertwine. I say we take down the omegas and keep all the food to ourselves!"

"You fools know nothing! That's why you ambushed me earlier! It is you guys that just want whats best for you two!"

"No!" the slightly chubbier wolf said looking Tony in the eyes. He yelled out, "We want what's best for all alphas! We are the more advanced beings!" Throughout all this his voice was getting higher and higher as he got angrier and angrier. "It is the omegas that leach off of us! So what if one got lucky and did something alpha like! He is still the lowest form of wolf! So much so that he isn't even here to face us now!" he said referring to Humphrey.

The limping wolf moved up to talk with the packs too, "And what about the white wolf! She isn't here either! The two wolves that so called changed history for the 'better' aren't even here to witness the rise of a new wolf empire!"

Lilly had had enough of this, "HEY YOU TWO!" he had forgotten to hide her belly but they were up high enough already where wolves couldn't really notice it. "We are here! And we will always be here to protect the packs!" Humphrey stood up so he could be seen too. "Especially from two stupid wolves like you! And nothing! Not even a heard of caribou will stop us from uniting the pack! So stand down NOW!" That last word came out a lot louder than she had wanted it to and suddenly a rumbling under their feet had started. They all looked out towards the source of the rumbling and sure enough a herd of caribou were running rampant down in their direction.

"Oh my gosh!" Humphrey said seeing the stampede. "Not again!"

"Humphrey! A stampede!" Lilly yelled looking down. She yelled "RUN!" and everybody started heading off in the opposite direction and trying to get up on the ledges away from the heard. The six wolves in the middle were the closest to the heard. Winston and Kate being on the left side of the walls quickly turned as saw an open branch along with a hanging vine and started heading towards that direction.

"This way guys!" Kate yelled at the other four wolves who were in a daze. They all quickly snapped out of it and ran behind Kate and Winston.

As they ran the wolf with the limp started falling behind as was Tony as he felt the disk in his back give way, "Ah! My back!"

Tony having yelled that caused Garth to turn and see his father. "Dad!" he hurried back and pushed his back into place and ran alongside him. As they ran Garth notice how much trouble the wolf with the limp was having trying to keep up and ran next to him and helped him stable himself. "Come on Limpy! You might have ambushed my father but you are not gonna die today!"

The wolf didn't know what to say as Garth helped him run through except, "Thank you!"

They kept running all the while the stampede was getting closer and closer. Winston got to the branch first and quickly jumped up on it and then took a bite out of the vine that was hanging out. Kate wasted no time and quickly jumped up on the branch too and then took ahold of her dad's tail and he started swinging to get up on the ledge.

The next wolf to reach the stump slid to a stop as he waited for the two wolves to get to safety and then throw the vine back down. Once Kate and Winston landed with a thud up on top Winston let go of the vine and it swung back down. The wolf quickly jumped up on the branch and it snapped before he could grab ahold of the vine.

"No!" Kate said as he looked over the edge.

The wolf landed on his back and groaned. The other three wolves had just arrived but did not stop as they saw what had happened. "Run!" Tony said as he pushed the chubby wolf up. "Don't stop running!" The Wolf complied and ran next to Tony as his friend and Garth ran in front of them. They were looking for anywhere and anything they could use to climb up the ledge.

Garth looked up ahead and saw the log that saved Humphrey and Kate used to save Tony and Winston propped up on the side of the hill. It wasn't much but maybe it was enough to get them both up there if Garth gave the wolf a little push. "Hey! You see that log up there! We are going to have to run up on it to get to safety!"

"What!? Are you crazy!? I'd need a really powerful jump and I can't with my leg like this!"

"That's why I'll push you up!" he said running. "When you get close to the log run up on it and on my back too! I'll push you up! Then you'll have to pull me up yourself!"

"You trust me with that!?" the wolf said a bit surprised.

"I have to! Now get ready!" Garth said as they got close. "Now!"

The wolf did as Garth told him to and ran up a little before Garth pushed him up and climbed up putting a lot of pressure on his leg but he pulled through the pain as he rolled onto his back.

"Ouch!" it took him a few seconds to regain his thoughts and he leaned over the edge to reach down for Garth.

Garth ran back a little and ran up the log and jumped up as high as he could barely able to grab onto the wolves paws. He brought Garth up and started panting as they laid there on their backs.

Tony and the other wolf were right in front of the caribou as the saw what Garth had done and were about to attempt the same thing. Garth quickly shook off the pain he had over his body and bent over the side of the cliff. "Dad! Hurry!" The other wolf looked over the edge to see what was going on also.

The wolf ran a little bit further up than Garth and tried to attempt to run up the log as the other two did but he failed. The second he put his paws on the log it snapped and broke making him tumble.

"NO!" both Garth and the wolf with the limp yelled.

The chubby wolf couldn't even get up before the caribou trampled him. Garth looked over to see where his dad was and he was still running but there was no way he was fast enough to outrun them. The wolf next to him started crying and yelling out the wolves name but Garth was too busy looking at his dad.

Tony was running frantically as the caribou caught up to him and were now passing him. He turned his head to look up at where Garth was and gave him a straight face. Garth stood there looking at his dad knowing something was up, "Dad," was all he could mutter. Tony then gave his son a small smile and closed his eyes. The caribou over took Tony and he wasn't visible anymore. "Dad!" Garth yelled as tears flowed down his eyes. "DAD!"

Lilly and Humphrey ran down and caught up to Winston and Kate who were running down to catch up with Garth having seen everything that had happened. Once they reached the two wolves they all stopped dead in their tracks not sure what they could possibly say to make anybody feel better. Lilly was trying to hide her stomach but wasn't doing the best job. Nobody really noticed though.

After a long pause as the caribou passed they saw the two dead bodies of the wolves. The wolf with the limp had stopped crying and realized what a horrible mistake they had made. "You were right. We had been eating too much. It's all our fault. If he was in shape the branch might not have broken," he started tearing up again. "The log too. That stupid fat wolf could have made it!" he started crying again. "I'm sorry!" he said between sobs.

Garth didn't say anything as he wiped the tears from his face. Winston on the other hand walked up to the limp wolf, "So are you threw with this whole charade now? Will you talk to your pack and get them to reunite the way we are supposed to be?"

"Yes," he said still sobbing. "I will never go against the leaders orders again. I'm so sorry Winston. You are the leader of the two packs now."

Winston looked at Garth, "No. I can't handle that many wolves. Garth is now the leader too now."

Garth could hear what they were saying but he didn't care at the moment. Right now he was grieving his father.

"AHHH!" Lilly yelped felling a kick. The pups were on their way. "Oh no! Not now!" Humphrey understood what was happening and quickly helped Lilly out.

Garth heard the commotion and put his father's thoughts to rest for the time being as he pretty much guessed what was going on. Winston didn't understand why Lilly was in pain but Kate quickly tried to get him to leave. "Dad! Go talk to the packs with this wolf! We will go make sure Lilly isn't hurt."

"Are you sure?" he tried to look at his daughter but Kate kept blocking him.

"I promise she will be okay."

Winston knew that right now he had to act like a leader after these events just occurred. "Okay. I'll be by later. You come with me," he said to the wolf. The wolf followed.

Lilly sighed, "I just hope things are going well in the other world," she said walking with them to her cave.

Lilly laid down on her side grateful that their plan had worked. "Well we did it. We saved this world. Definitely not the way we expected but we reunited the packs. Now all we have to do is…"

Lilly laid down on her side feeling the babies getting ready to come out. "Well we did it. We saved this world. Definitely not the way we expected but we reunited the packs. Now all we have to do is…"

Lilly was sucked into the same green like vortex as before in the blink of an eye. But there was something heading straight towards her. It looked like it was going at the exact same speed and moving exactly the same way she was moving. When she got close enough she realized that it was her!

"LILLY!"

"LILLY!"

They both said to each other.

"How did everything go?"

"Not so great but we reunited the packs. I'm sure you will all be doing a lot better in a while."

"You too. A couple of ups and downs but I doubt the packs will ever split again."

"Good luck."

"Good luck."

They both said as they went back to their own worlds.

Lilly appeared back right where she was before. Humphrey was looking at her amazed as he saw that she was pregnant once again. "LILLY!" He ran up to hug her but she stopped him.

"AHH! They are coming!" she said as she started giving birth.

Lilly appeared right back where she was before. All of them were looking at her amazed as they saw she wasn't pregnant anymore. "LILLY!" they all yelled as they went to give her a big hug. Something Garth really needed.

"Hey big boy! Mhh I missed you so much."

"Lilly!" he started crying. I'm the new leader. Tony is dead."

"Oh no…I'm so sorry!" she gave him a hug. "I'm here for you know. I'll always be here for you from now on."

"I love you Lilly. I love you so much!"

"I love you Garth," Lilly said holding him tight.

After Lilly gave birth to three adorable little pups Humphrey went to go find the rest of her family. He came back panting hard with Tony, his wife, and Winston behind him. "Lilly something is wrong!"

"What is it?" she looked at them as she nursed her pups. "Where are Kate and Garth?"

"That's just it! We can't find them!"

"We will send out anyone and everyone we can," Tony said trying to make her feel better.

Lilly nodded as she held her pups close. "As long as we all stay together it was all worth it," she says trying to fight back tears. It looks like both worlds lost 2 very important wolves.

Apart from each world losing two wolves each one learned the importance of each pack and both packs were stronger than ever. They both banded together through thick and thin from then on. And they all lived in peace and harmony.

Epilogue

Kate was crying onto Garths shoulder as they looked out of the open train car. They managed to jump on it just a few minutes before the battle started. They passed a small section that overlooked the park right where the battle had briefly taken place a few minutes ago. Sadly the trees blocked their view before they could see the heard of caribou plow through the field where all the wolves were fighting. Kate's tears poured down as she saw the battle and Garth held her close trying to keep a brave face, but he was dying to breakdown and start crying also. The train just kept going and going, leaving Jasper Park behind forever.

Kate and Garth were so sure nothing in the universe could have fixed the two packs again. Sadly they were right. It took a slightly different universe to help them out, but they would never figure that out. In their later years they would wonder what happened to Jasper and their family and friends, but they would always greave as they pictured half the wolves dead, and the other half proudly running things how they wanted them to be. No one in Jasper Park ever saw them again…but because of them the packs were stronger than ever for fear of losing anybody like them ever again.

The End

I know, you're probably thinking and saying things like oh this guy has no heart, or what a douche, but sadly not every story has a happy ending. Not in the real world anyways. I wanted to write a story that had both a happy ending yet a sad ending at the same time. I hope people still enjoyed it though, and always try to look on the brighter side of things, but just know that there will be down sides. I'd like you all to thank Humphrey Loves Kate for giving me this idea. I don't know if it turned out at all like he envisioned it but I hope he was satisfied with the results. Thanks for all my fans out there who supported me even after a very long couple of hiatuses if anybody besides Humphrey Loves Kate even did keep reading. Have a great year and I hope to see you reading my other Alpha and Omega story. If you love crazy science fiction and wolves then it might be the story for you. Goodbye!
