He smirked has he walked down the dirty hall of the cheapest hotel he could find. Sheamus wasn't stupid; after looking for Randy in every hospital in the city, he realized that Dean was hiding him and decided it was time for him to disappear also. So, he found a hole in the ground hotel to work out of. He found his room, opened the door and the smirk left his face.
The room smelled of mildew and covered in dust and dirt. As he continued to look around, he saw cockroaches scurrying out of the light and little mouse droppings littered the corner and along the walls. The bed sheets were yellowed and stained by substances he didn't even want to know. He wrinkled his nose in disgust and walked into the bathroom where he flicked on the light. The light flickered, and the tub, sink and toilet all had ring stains; all in all the place was a dump. He found a chair at the table that looked safe enough to sit at and started planning his next moves.
Roman walked down the hall to Randy's room. They were still waiting for the brothers' arrival and he wanted to check in on Randy. The doctor told him earlier that he wasn't sure Randy would even wake up today, nor was he sure when he would. The man had been through a traumatic event and his body and mind needed to heal.
When he got to the room, he sat in the chair next to Randy's bed. He leaned his head back and closed his eyes for a couple of minutes when he heard a low moan and as some motion coming from the bed. Roman opened his eyes and looked over at Randy, he noticed little specks of sweat forming on his forehead and squirming around as if dreaming. He went to the bathroom and got a cool, wet cloth to put on Randy's forehead. After he finished wiping off Randy's forehead and letting the cloth lay there, he stroked his cheek trying to calm the other man down.
He stood there stroking Randy's cheek and mumbling, "Its ok, Randy. You're safe now; no one's going to hurt you anymore." Surprisingly, after a few minutes, Roman saw that Randy was calming down. His body wasn't moving as much, his breathing almost normal and he wasn't sweating anymore. He was still calming the sleeping man down when he asked said without looking up, "What do you want, Seth?" They were too well trained not to notice the slightest movement or hear the quietest noise.
Seth stared at Roman for a moment wondering what was going through the big man's mind, but decided now wasn't the time to ask.
"The brothers are here and Hunter wants us in his office," he answered, "and then we have to go to work."
The commotion could be heard out in the hall as Seth and Roman walked to the office. Roman just raised an eyebrow at Seth and Seth rolled his eyes as if he already knew who was causing all the noise. They weren't surprised when they walked into a chaotic office scene. Dean had just thrown a stack of files at ….Matt and Jeff Hardy.
"The last time we worked with these guys, they almost got Seth killed," he yelled, as he started to walk over to the brothers, curling and unfurling his hands.
Seeing this, Roman quickly moved in front of Dean and Seth went to his side, gripping Dean by the shoulder. Seth looked into stormy grey/blue eyes and saw the story they told. He saw the nightmares, the loss of friends and loved ones, the feelings of hopelessness of not being able to do anything about it; they were the same ones they all had.
Seth stepped in front of Dean and making him look at him said, "All five of us know what happened over there Dean, but it's over now and I'm fine."
Dean looked from the Seth to the Hardys and back again. Sighing heavily and shaking his head, Dean sat down with his head resting between his hands.
Seth kneeled in front of him and asked, "Are you ok now?"
Dean looked at him with a gentleness reserved only for Seth and said, "Yeah," as he grabbed Seth's hand and brought it to his lips.
Seth smiled while he stood up and said, "Well now that that's over, we don't have time to hear the details. Roman and I have to get to work or the others will get suspicious." Roman and Seth left the room and were soon on their way to the advertising company.
"Gees, how many times do we have to apologi…oomph..," Jeff complained before his brother elbowed him in the stomach.
Sighing at the careless words of his brother, Matt said, "Now, that we're all calmed down, we know from the information that Dean gathered where Sheamus is headed and what is next steps are. He's still affiliated with his old group in Ireland and the money he's taking off the top of Randy's company is going to them or at least part of it is."
"Hmm...All right, it's time to tell the old man. We don't need this to turn into a full blown international event since that group is known for its terrorist acts," Hunter explained looking meaningfully at Steph. She nodded and walked out of the room.
Hunter sighed and looked over the three men in the room with him, "We'll send the Hardy's to the old dumps that Sheamus hangs out in because Dean's face is too well known." He looked right into Dean's eyes as he continued, "Dean, you'll watch their backs from the truck for when they need backup. Now get going."
"Great now he's coming with us," Jeff muttered as Matt rolled his eyes at him and Dean smirked and sauntered out of the office.
As the group walked past Randy's room, Dean looked over and saw Roman standing there. "I thought you guy left already," he said as he walked by.
"Seth went ahead so no one would be suspicious if we arrived at the same time," Roman explained as he watched Randy sleep restlessly.
Dean nodded and kept walking as Roman stood there for a couple more minutes and then left to go to work.
