A/N This is set directly after the events of ESB, and shows Vader contemplating the existence of his son. This is quite emotional, and may show Vader OOC a little bit (I took a bit of inspiration from Kylo Ren for some elements of it). He breaks his façade of calm, which is the main OOC element in this chapter. Enjoy!

Vader was meditating, that seemed to be all he did these days. He was never a fan of meditating, his dreams always haunting his visions, always distracting. But he had no dreams now. In fact, he hadn't had dreams for years, since he became Darth Vader. But now, he had a vision.

Lightning. Arcs of blue lightning, burning and searing at a body. The figure screaming in pain. The source of the lightning cackling in ecstasy. The tall figure at its side, Vader, lifted up the source of lightning and carried him to a gaping abyss. The lightning coursed through him and the figure, short-circuiting the vital life support systems that kept him alive. With one last mammoth effort, Vader threw the evil in his arms down the abyss, and collapsed, wheezing and dying.

On Coruscant, or as it was called now the Imperial Centre, the Emperor was presiding over his Empire with an iron fist. But he felt a tremor in the Force. Perhaps, he pondered, Skywalker was turning. The realisation of his father's identity may well have pushed him over the edge, no. No, that wasn't it. A different presence, a familiar one. Yoda. The little green gnome was alive. The Emperor thumbed the communicator on the chair, and the communication was picked up immediately.

"What is thy bidding, my master?" the voice on the other end asked.

"It seems there has been a great disturbance in the Force." The Emperor's cackling voice spoke.

"What would you have me to do, Master?"

"Find the source of this disturbance and eliminate it. I have faith in you, my first and only Hand,"

"Yes my lord"

The communicator clicked off.

Vader's eyes snapped open, and for once, they weren't the yellow eyes of a Sith. They were the deepest blue. For Vader no longer existed. Only Anakin Skywalker remained.

On Dagobah, Yoda placed a hand to his temple. He too felt the vision, and the thought gave him peace, knowing that while his time was nearing an end, the time of Luke Skywalker, and the time of the new Jedi, was only beginning.

Luke sat in the cave, tinkering with R2, when suddenly a wave of warm, soothing light enveloped the force, and surrounded him. He smiled as he stood up, packing up his tools. He was still smiling when he entered Jabba's palace. His father had returned.
