~Happy Reading!

~•The Doctor•~

The Dalek approached the crowd with pride and didn't hesitate for anyone. It's small, yet intimidating, sapphire eyepiece examined each and every one of the demigods staring at it. His stupid little whisk gun (The Doctor seriously still didn't understand how they built stuff. All they've got is a whisk and a toilet plunger! What good does that do?!) had only shot one person so far. The Doctor tried to think positive in the situation, so far somewhat good. He didn't want to admit it, but he wished they never landed here in the first place. Some demigods remained in battle mode, prepared to fight this mysterious creature none of them had ever seen before, making the battle more difficult. They knew nothing of its skill and capabilities aside from the laser gun that just killed one of camp's centaurs.

"C-Chiron?" Percy stared in horror, his sea green eyes wide open in anguish. The Doctor could almost feel his heartbeat rising to the second. "T-that thing just killed Chiron! CHIRON!" He got up to run, nearly running out of their hiding spot.

"Don't-DON'T you dare!" The Doctor pushed him back, and Annabeth immediately looped an arm around his as if he were a dog on a leash. She refused to let him go, no matter how hard he was fighting. The Doctor gave Percy a final warning look. The kid was really pushing his buttons.

"We don't know if that's Chiron for sure, but focus in at the moment," Annabeth whispered sternly. Percy nodded, understanding her words. He once again grabbed her hand and gripped it as if his life depended on it. She rubbed her thumb in small circles on his smooth skin, reassuring him that she was there.

"Do you see what Rose meant?" The Doctor whispered to both of them. His voice was hushed, but strict as hell. "Worst part, they cannot be destroyed unless you somehow get past their armor! That thing is almost impossible to break open. Even a sonic can't do it!"

"I only managed it once because I had the TARDIS inside me." Rose piped up, raising her hand like a child in a first grade class.

"Yes! That was once!"

"I just thought I'd share it!"

"And I'm never letting you do that again!"

"GUYS!" Annabeth had zero patience for any kind of dilly-dallying at the moment. They were being worse than Percy and when they bicker. "Now is not the time! We've really gotta figure out a plan. I'd figure out a plan myself, but I don't know how these things work!"

"Rule number one, Annabeth," The Doctor whispers. Slowly, he reaches into one of his pants pockets, taking out his trusty blue and silver sonic screwdriver. "I never have plans." Annabeth's jaw dropped to the ground. Being a child of Athena, she was pretty offended.

"But what do you mean you never have plans?! Even Percy sometimes has-"

"Hey, hey! Daleks!" The Doctor jumped out the bushes, running out to the open field like he was stoked to make the first pitch at a Giants' game. Cheery grin, arms open for a hug, typical nine year old on a sugar rush. "Wow, look at you lot! You guys keep getting badder and badder!"

"It's The Doctor! We have located The Doctor!" It's robotic voice echoed throughout the camp. Older campers rushed the younger ones to the big house, while some stayed to fight off the strange creatures.

"Everybody, back up!" The Doctor warned the half-bloods. Right now, the demigods of Camp Half-Blood were his main priority. He didn't admit it to Rose, but he's terrified for them. He wasn't sure anyone would win this fight, resulting in losing everyone. He hearts couldn't bear it the thought so he tried the best he could to push it into the back of his mind, but it failed, returning like ocean waves crashing upon the shore. The Doctor got another glance at Rose, Percy and Annabeth hiding in the bushes. He saw Rose's lips moving quickly, guessing that she was teaching about the Daleks to the best of her ability. The Doctor couldn't appreciate her more. However, he wasn't sure if Percy and Annabeth would make it out this fight. They're both still very young. Even being heroes-in-training didn't settle his nerves about them.

"Doctor! We have located The Doctor!" The large leader Dalek repeated. Only four other Daleks were behind him, which surprised The Doctor because he was expecting a whole fleet because of the warship.

"Yeah, so you got me! Woohoo!" The Doctor waved his hands in the air like he just didn't care (but he did). "Why's there only five of you? Are there really only five of you?" The Doctor leaned forward, squinting at the monsters. He made sure to stay a safe distance however. "So what is it that you lot want?"

"The Doctor!"

"Yes, that would seem to be the case every time. I'm quite popular, so get in line. Anything else?" The Dalek turned its eyepiece around, examining the land around it. It continued to scan the area, not even breaking out in rage. The Doctor was confused for once, not knowing what it was planning to do. Tension was rising and The Doctor didn't know what to do. Finally, it spoke. "We came to exterminate, and that is our mission! And destroy time lords! Exterminate! EXTERMINATE!"

The Doctor managed to warn everyone as they were getting ready to shoot. "EVERYONE RUN!"

Demigods were running in all directions, and thankfully these Daleks had very bad aim. The Doctor ran back into the bushes where Rose was trying her best to cover Percy and Annabeth. The Doctor joined in, protecting Rose. "What's going on?!" She asked quickly.

"The normal business! To destroy! That's it!"

"Anything else?" Percy piped up. The Doctor furrowed his eyebrows. He remembered hearing something that didn't sound right.

"They said 'destroy time lords'", He whispered. Automatically, he looked Rose for an answer. Rose was taken aback.

"What? Shouldn't they know that the time lords are wiped out? Because they did that job." Soon, there were battle cries on the field. Demigods were slashing at the aliens, but nothing happened except for some sparks flying when their swords made impact. Luckily, the heroes were so close to the Dalek's battle armor their laser beams couldn't shoot directly at them. Others weren't so lucky, and demigods were dropping like flies. Even though there were only five Daleks they were still causing a ton of destruction. The Doctor had to think of something, maybe something that revolves around what he heard.

"Wait," The Doctor got it. "Their blood." He glanced at Percy and Annabeth, who slowly sat up and looked confused. "Rose, it's their blood."

"What about it?"

"T-their blood! It's different!" He slapped a hand to his forehead, smiling at himself. The way he did it when he was really proud of something. "Of course! They have different blood which is why they think you guys are time lords! I don't believe it! When did they get so stupid?!"

"Another question you ought to answer is why are there only five of them? Almost every time we meet them there's at least an army. So why five this time?" Rose added. She was absolutely right. Something was not right about the Daleks. For one, they certainly aren't stupid. Mistaking demigods for time lords is absolutely ridiculous.

"Something's not right, then," Annabeth suggested. She may not know much about Daleks, but she was already sensing that something was out of place. In panic, she suggested a crazy idea. "Throw Rose out there."

All three heads turned to her. The Doctor was glaring at the girl, like he was about to tear her to shreds. He was not going to allow her to step foot on that battlefield. Annabeth backed away a little bit, and even inched closer to Percy.

"No." The Doctor confirmed.

"Doctor-"

"I am not allowing a fourteen-year-old girl let her step onto that war ground!"

"No, she's right," Rose actually had the courage to smile a little. "She's absolutely right."

"How?" Percy asked. Percy knew that Annabeth was always right, however this time was different because he couldn't figure out why.

"I'm human." Rose simply stated. All of a sudden everyone (but Annabeth) had forgotten that Rose was 100% pure mortal. "I get it. Send me out, and they'll get confused about why there's a mortal on Gallifrey. But what's this going to achieve?"

"I'm thinking that once they see and examine you, all the Daleks will go haywire. I get the feeling that a program inside them is not working, hence the reason why they're mistaking half-bloods for time lords. And that ship? I examined it a bit and there's a part in the back that's busted up pretty badly. I get the feeling that they didn't land here on purpose to attack, but instead they needed a place to land and fix their ship." Annabeth finished her speech, leaving The Doctor's mouth gapin

"W-well, young lady, that is a magnificent theory. However, they just attack where ever they go. That idea is brilliant though!" He praised. Annabeth blushed a little, rubbing the back of her neck shyly. Percy playfully shoulder bumped her as a 'good thinking!'.

"Am I going out there or what?" Rose smiled. For some reason they just all assumed it was a plan. Now, they needed to plot everything else out.

"You will, just not yet. We need to figure out the rest of this thing..."

Together, the four put their heads together. They had absolutely no time to waste or else more lives will be stolen the longer the take. The demigods lodged in battle strategies as team TARDIS (okay, partial team TARDIS) threw in tons of information about Daleks. Annabeth and Percy got the idea that celestial bronze might do at least something to them, and The Doctor took it gratefully. Percy also suggested stygian iron like Nico's sword, but that wasn't happening because Nico wasn't around. Would've been useful though. The four of them were already a rather mighty force.

"Okay, so everyone got the plan?" Annabeth double-checked with everyone. Everyone nodded their heads. "Alright. Rose, just throw yourself out there. I'll back you up. Percy and Doctor, get to the Haephestus cabin as quickly as you can. See if you can find Beckdorf on the way."

"You got it, captain." The Doctor winked. Annabeth smiled. She loved being a leader.

"Hands in the middle?" Percy suggested, throwing a hand in. The others began to join until someone near them got shot and crumpled to the floor. The four of them stared at each other. "Okay, no time. LET'S ROLL!"

*puts hands in front of mouth* I am so, so, so sorry.

Okay, let me tell you why I didn't update once this year: I lost interest in writing this story. I knew it was here, it existed yeah. I just didn't want to write anymore, I wasn't interested. Then I got all those notifications about it and decided I didn't have a choice. So before I even finished the chapter (which I started over six months ago), I re-read the story to remember what I wrote. Then I remember something: this thing is awesome. So, here we are, an update!

I made this chapter short on purpose so I could get this updated quicker. It's supposed to be much longer, but we'll save that for next time. I'm so sorry, and I promise I won't keep you waiting for a year next update!

Review this maybe? Thanks!
