~Happy Reading!

~ Percy ~

As if the day couldn't get worse.

First, they meet this alien, time-lord guy. Then, they start getting attacked by weird robots that shoot killer lasers and have whisk hands. And now? They're flying high in the sky and killing campers from above because that's definitely the cherry on top to a good day.

"Okay, now they're in the sky. Absolutely fantastic. What do we do?" Percy rolled his eyes and turned to Rose, hoping she would have an answer. Rose stood there, shoving her hands in her pockets and just glanced at the sky. She seemed worried with her eyes containing pure fear. Did she even know what to do?

"I..I don't know..." Rose whispered. "I really don't know. I'm sorry. But I reckon that The Doc-"

Annabeth clenched her fists, gritted her teeth and threw her hands in the air, screaming, "Oh yeah! The Doctor! Because The Doctor is such a genius and he didn't get us into this mess at all! You act like he's so smart and everything, with his freaking time machine and whatnot, but this is all his fault! All of hi-"

"Annabeth, stop!" Percy grab her hands and threw them down. "I get that you're angry. I am too, but yelling and screaming isn't going to do anything. We need to figure out a plan."

"And what do you reckon your plan would be?" The Doctor questioned, with an eyebrow raised. His face was expressionless, losing that childish charm and smirk, the amusement within his eyes gone, replaced by anger and worry. "I already told this to Perseus, but Annabeth there are only two ways to kill them: make them hit their own lasers hit one another, which you already know, or my regeneration energy which won't work unless I am dying."

Rose bit her bottom lip. "Doctor, I could use the TARDIS's energy again and maybe I could try-"

"Rose, no you almost died when that happened. You absolutely not going to try that again." The Doctor said sternly, gently raising her knuckles to his lips. "Never again."

"Then what do we do?"

Nobody seemed to think of an answer. No one said a single word. Not the Son of Poseidon, not the Daughter of Athena who always had her mind running, not the Bad Wolf, and not the Time Lord who travels through time in space. No one had a clue. The silence hung uncomfortably in the humid, summer air as they all waited for somebody to say something. All of them looked at each other desperately hoping they had an idea.

Then suddenly, Percy had a clue.

"Annabeth we have to go get Blackjack. Let's go!" He took her wrist, and she shook it off.

"What? Why? What did you think of, Seaweed Brain?"

"You'll know it when you see it! I just need your help! Come on!" He took her hand and together they ran off to the stables, leaving Rose and The Doctor in confusion. "You'll see when we're up there! Assist those on the field, Doctor!"

The Doctor and Rose watched the two demigods run off, and Rose instinctively grabbed The Doctor's hand, lacing their fingers together and stared at him with concern. He cupped her cheek, gazing into her baby blue eyes. Rose felt a shiver go down her spine. "Everything will be okay, I promise." He gave her cheek a quick kiss. "Now, we've gotta run."

And they ran to assist Clarisse and her siblings on the field.

Meanwhile, Percy and Annabeth ran, and ran, and ran, and ran until their lungs and calves burned. It was times like these when Percy was always vague with his plans, if he had a plan for that matter, and it he knew that it always infuriated Annabeth, literally every single time he did she would always scream-

"PERCY CAN YOU AT LEAST TELL ME WHAT IS HAPPENING?!"

"You're a daughter of Athena! You figure it out, Wise Girl!"

As they were nearing the stables, a dark figure began to appear in the distance, filling the air with a sense of cold, evil and fear. The two knew it wasn't a good sign. "Can't be another spaceship.."

"We'll just have to find out!"

Blackjack was just enjoying some hay as he spotted the two demigods running towards him from a distance. When demigods were running, he knew that they were always either running from danger, or running from fake danger as part of a training exercise. No one ever runs to greet him, so that's a bummer.

Running to see me for once, Boss?

"No! Yes?! Yes and no! There's danger in camp, Blackjack! How could you have possibly not noticed?!" Percy asked hastily, fumbling around to get his trusty pegasus untied and saddled.

I've been here long enough to not notice anymore. Does Blondie have any donuts? He knickers softly and nods his nose towards Annabeth.

"Is he asking me for donuts again?" Annabeth rolled her eyes. "It was one time.."

Percy situated his saddle into place on Blackjack's back and couldn't help but notice that Annabeth was praying to the gods next Blackjack's stables. Yeah, he's seen her do it before, but he'd never seen her look so terrified while doing it. Her eyes were shut tightly, the rim of her hands white from pressing so hard and he could tell she was whispering incredibly quickly. "Hey, hey, hey.." Percy stopped what was doing to give her some comfort. "It'll be okay, we've survived a lot of things, we won't die this time."

She looked up from her praying, as though she were offended, giving him that classic Wise Girl scowl that she always gives when she's slightly mad. "You never know the odds, Percy. Especially with something like this? Aliens? These are things we don't learn about and we don't know what could happen. We don't know how much more they can do, and you know how much I hate not know, you idiot."

"But we've been through so much together, we've seen a lot of crazy stuff," he instinctively cupped her cheek, "everything will be okay. We're not going to die, not this time." He adds a chuckle and his classic bad boy smirk because he knows it makes her smile every time. He watches her lips twitch upward a bit, making his heart flutter. "C'mere." He pulls her into his arms and wraps his arms around her waist tightly. "We'll be fine, Wise Girl."

"Yeah, I guess we'll make it out of this mess, as long as you don't do something stupid." She teases. Percy chuckles and feels her cheeks pressing up against his jaw. "Do you think going into the sky and trying to make them shoot each other is really going to work? Well maybe if we use a complicated pattern or a weird algorithm they might not figure it out but-"

"Wise Girl, Wise Girl, I'm glad you figured out my plan but that smarty-pants brain of yours is over thinking it." He smiled at her wonderful, extraordinary brain, thought-process, and wit. This is why he loved her. Plus, she was pretty cute when she overthinks stuff. "No algorithms, just keep it simple. We will be fine. Trust me."

They take one more minute in peace before it's time to face life or death. Percy decides to embrace the moment, not knowing if he will ever get another one like this again. Especially since it's with Annabeth. He hears her whisper something, and although he can barely make it out, he thinks he hears her say, "love you."

"You too." He whispers back quietly. He gently gives her a kiss in her hair and begins to detangle himself from her arms (as much as he doesn't to, he has to).

"You ready, Blackjack?"

I don't know what I'm supposed to be ready for, but sure thing, Boss! Let's get a move on it!

Percy hoisted himself onto the saddle, helping Annabeth up as she wrapped her arms tightly around his waist. She found his hands and interlocked her fingers with his. "Let's go fix this mess."

"Alright, Blackjack! Let's go! Head towards that spaceship!" Percy commanded. And just like that, Blackjack lifted off the ground, flapping is large, long, coal-colored wings and soared into the sky, helping his friends set things right.

Surprise! Look who's (temporarily) back from the dead. Hello everyone!

It has been..almost three years since I've updated this story? It says I updated it in December of 2014, so I guess that's closer to two years huh? Oh man, that was in my junior year of high school...time really flies.

I just wanted to treat you guys to something, because a lot of you have been asking me to update and well, I've found some spare time and motivation and viola! Here you are with another chapter! I know it's just another filler, so please forgive me.

I suppose what I really want to say is I'm sorry I stopped updating. By the time I hit the middle of my junior year in high school, I basically lost motivation for fanfiction and just left everything hanging. Now I'm in my freshman year of college, and I do want to continue a few of my stories, but we shall see when I have the motivation and time to finish everything I want to finish haha. Who knows, maybe I'll be married by the time I finish "Spy vs. Spy."

Thank you so much for sticking around all these years. It amazes me how many of you guys still read my stories and pester me to update, which is actually a huge deal to me! It's like, "people are still reading my stories after not updating for a million years and always having typos?! Wow! That's amazing!" So thank you so much for sticking around and watching me grow as a writer these past five years. I love all you of so much.

Here's to hoping this story will be finished soon!

Review this maybe? Thanks!
