-Greetings readers!
For some this is 'welcome back', to others is 'nice to meet you'. But to all, a big 'thank you' for sticking to my story and not giving up hope that I would once again post another chapter. No, I did not forget you my dear readers; sadly I woke up one day to found myself running dry on ideas. Do please forgive me for the delay. On with the story then, shall we?

Chapter Six
Impale the Sweet

It was a decent crowd, about a hundred people or so gathered around under the stars. The band had a thing about performing in open spaces; 'connecting to nature' was their thing and people bought it. Bonibelle took pride in supporting bands that were just starting up, and seeing the fans grow with every show made her happy. The weatherman said it was going to be warm tonight. She thought, fighting back a shiver and looking around; most of the fans were couples who were holding each close to keep warm. The blonde cursed under her breath for not bringing a backup sweater, and hoped that being close together in a group would be enough to keep her from freezing to death. Bonibelle looked over to the mysterious that had accompanied her; I guess it would be out of the question to ask her to hold me… Marceline felt eyes on her so she turned to look at her companion whom in turn looked down at her shoes. Almost caught me staring! That would have been so embarrassing. The blonde twirled her thumbs and hoped to glob the paler girl was not looking at her anymore, she waited exactly 60 seconds before looking back up. And although this was one of her favorite bands she couldn't help but glancing over her companion's direction every so often. She shivered again, this time it was a bit more noticeable, she looked over and was grateful to see Marceline looking straight at the lead guitarist. Bonibelle couldn't understand why she was so cold and looking around she noticed most of the crowd had made sure not to bump into them. It's like being with Marceline gives me a little protective shield from the world… Which, under other circumstances it would have been a neat thing to experience.

It must have been the twentieth glance she discreetly took when she realized the frown the paler girl had on her face. Her eyes are closed, oh glob she hates it… she totally hates it! This is a bad first impression. Abort. Abort immediately! "I totally forgot I had a student meeting early in the morning tomorrow, maybe it's best if we got home now." Marceline snapped her eyes opened and turned to fully look at her, "It's only ten Bonibelle. 'Sides the band's not even half way through their song." She leaned over to grab a hold of the blonde girl's hand, and bringing her closer she loudly whispered over the music. Oh Glob! " 'sit cause you're cold?" The sudden warmth in her ear made Bonibelle blush bright red. She smells so good. We're so close, 'nd she's holdin' my hand! Grateful the band was playing outside thusly her blush was concealed under the night she bit her lip deep in thought. Does she like me? Should I make a move? But what if she doesn't like me!? Then everything will be awkward and she's my ride home… I'm sure Peppy wouldn't mind comin' to get me, but I was just gettin' to know her… Break it down, what is the probability of her likin' me? She was so wrapped up in her thoughts that she didn't notice the paler girl taking off her jacket in one fluid motion and placing it over her shoulders.

"Let's stay a bit longer, okay? I promise to keep you warm." Marceline said giving Bonibelle's hand a squeeze, and to her surprise not letting go. The blonde shook her head slightly, "You don't have to do that." The crowd was singing along, raising their fist to the air.

"The music is different from what I usually listen to." Marceline's voice was barely audible above the cheering crowd and loud guitar solo. Looking back at the band for a while she nodded once before turning to look at her very worried companion, "I enjoy it very much Bonibelle. They should consider adding a bassist though." Wait… what? "Thank you for letting me tag along."

"Really?" Bonibelle blurted out, looking up at her in disbelief. A sudden rush of warmth began to grow from the pit of her stomach and was slowly making its way up to her heart. Marceline gave her another rare smile as she nodded. "Now hush, that solo is pretty rad." Oh glob I'm holding hands with Marceline. At a concert of one of my favorite bands and she's digging the music! I'm holding her hand and she smiled! Oh glob I'm gonna hyperventilate. I can feel it. Oh glob, oh glob!" Bonibelle wondered if her heart could beat any faster, Gotta calm down or I'll have an attack in the middle of this. Once again she steals a peek at her companion. She'll freak out if I collapse on the floor grasping at my chest, wheezing my lungs out. Slowly but surely her breathing evened out; blinking back tears of anxiety, she swallowed the familiar lump that had begun to form in the back of her now dry throat. Under control…

"But for how long?" Marceline muttered, apparently loud enough to snap the blonde girl's attention back to her. Bonibelle paled; her grip on the other girl's hand waving for one second. She wondered for a split second if the raven haired girl could actually have read her thoughts and immediately discarded the ridiculous idea. Marceline had been thinking about how fake she was being and if that was fair to the girl she was with. For glob's sake, I just tortured 'nd killed a dude 'nd not even 30 passed 'nd I was pickin' her up. She softly grunted at the thought, Didn't even blinked. Don't feel guilt of nutin. For the first time in a while, she noticed her thirst for power had taken a back sit.
"W-what?" Wide blue eyes stared back at her, as if she had been caught doing mischief. Going to a concert is what people my age do… The paler girl shook her head in response and discreetly pulled her phone out. It had been a couple of hours since she had reluctantly left Finn and Jake in control of everything and she was getting antsy. But I'm different than them. I stand alone. Knowing it was rude to check texts while in company, she did her best to do so as quickly as possible. The song was dying down and she guessed the concert would too in a few more minutes. She glanced over without moving her head to see a text from Jake; a lonely sentence assuring her that everything was well had been delivered to her every hour on the dot. Good, at least I know they haven't burnt down the house. She quickly went over her emails and saw a "Well done." from her Father. Marceline grunted as she put the phone back into her pocket, she shouldn't have expected anything less from him. To her surprise the band started a new song and the crowd went wild, I thought it would be over by now… I know it's rude to ask but… Marceline took a deep breath, "Bonibe-" she started but was soon cut off. "This is my favorite song." The girl breathed out, her posture changing almost immediately. She leaned more into Marceline and her eyelids heaved with every note. She looks so peaceful and pretty… The raven haired girl squeezed her hand and quietly listened to the lonely guitar and haunting voice. The song spoke of a great warrior called Hate and the almost forbidden infatuation towards the fair Love.

Marceline closed her eyes and tried to picture Love being vanished from the land only leaving Hate behind, whom in turn went mad and destroyed half the kingdom. Rumors spread and soon reached the fair Love, who in turned began her way back home. Bonibelle sighed in contempt, her cheeks flushed and eyes completely closed. There were many troubles that Love had to face to get back home, determined to go back to Hate as soon as possible. In the end Love made it back just in time to calm down the warrior, who strongly pretended not to have noticed Love's absence.

Is she singing along? She thought as she leaned forward to listen more closely, and sure enough Bonibelle was singing, "I should not have been gone for so long. I'm yours and that's it, forever." The blonde looked up at Marceline and sang the very last sentence in unison with the lead singer, "You're mine and that's it, forever." Marceline chuckled under her breath; she couldn't believe that Miss School Body President Bonibelle was such a hopeless romantic. Without thinking she gently brushed a strand of hair out of the girl's eyes, There, now she looks even prettier it wasn't till she noticed the blond looking up at her that her hand recoiled back to her side.

"Thank you for coming." Bonibelle said, hugging her companion's waist and squeezing her as hard as she could. Marceline smiled, putting her arm around her she nodded towards the parking lot. "It was fun. Mind if we look around 'fore we head home?"The blonde giggled; wiggling out of Marceline's embrace she took her hand and began walking around the sea of bodies. I wonder if she knows any of them? There were people booking it to their cars; some groups remained however, old friends or fellow fans were talking about the band's performance. "This particular band is just starting out so they don't have much merchandise." Bonibelle stopped and very dramatically pointed at the little store, "This is it!" gaining a chuckle from her companion they moved towards the stand. "Yes, I can see that. Do the-"

"OH MAH GLAWB! Is dat you Bubblegum!?" They both turned just in time to see the purple haired girl dramatically push a group of fans out of the way. "You know this chick?" Marceline was able to make out before they were greeted by more screeches. With a big inhale Bonibelle smiled, "Hey LSP…"

Oh glob you're gonna ruin everything! "HEY GUUUUUUUURL!" The rounder girl practically marched in between them to plant her one kiss on each cheek. Her hips pushing Marceline to the side with every swing. Oh glob, oh glob, oh glob, I was so close to getting it in! Bonibelle's shoulders sank along with her spirits once she saw the paler girl taking a few steps back and looking uninterested. LSP clicked her tongue against her teeth before looking at her friend up and down, "Guuurl you look guuud. Hm uh!" She fluffled her hair and swung her hips to the other side. "Not as good as drop dead gorgeous me, but you're cuttin' it close han!" The blonde took a breath to thank her friend but could not even begin to form the thought before LSP clicked her tongue again. "Did ya see how I made that gangster chick disappear!?" She snapped her fingers in the air in a Z motion before saying "Be gone demon, in the name of our glob and savior!" She giggled to herself, her purple top swaying side to side. "I still got it boo!" Marceline! Bonibelle looked around but could not find even a trace of where she had gone. Butts!

"We were sorta here… together." Bonibelle said absently looking around the crowd.

"Nuh uh gurl! Gangster Marceline and YOU!?" LSP crossed her arms under her voluptuous breasts. "I don't like it at all." That snapped the other girl's attention, frowning she almost growled. "I don't remember needing your permission to go out." Why is she getting on my case? It's none of her business

The purple haired girl calmly chewed her hum a few times before she proceeded to blow a medium size bubble right in the blond girl's face. Popping the bright pink bubble and once again chewing it a few times LSP shrugged, "Aight boo, I see how we do." She fluffed her hair once more before dramatically turning, "Just don't say I didn't warn ya Bubblegum." She waved as she walked away, leaving Bonibelle feeling completely alone in a sea of people. She caught a very faint "Always loved drama!" followed by a maniacal giggle.

Bonibelle shook her head, Where the cabbage did she go!? Sighing loudly her brain began to rationalize the situation. She was probably annoyed by how rude LSP was being and went to wait by the car. "Or ditched." She muttered making her way to the parking lot, "I wouldn't blame 'er." She momentarily closed her eyes to recall the exact route to the car. Hugging the jacket close to her she began to carefully make her way towards Marceline. She smells so good. I wonder if her scent will rub off on me… Bonibelle smiled slightly and wiggled to increase her chances. Sure enough she found the paler girl by the car her back to her, she seemed to be looking at something she was holding. Intrigued, she tried to sneak up to her to look over her shoulder. As soon as she got within 20 feet from her companion, Bonibelle saw her body tense up and just a fast relax.

"Trying to sneak up on me, huh?" Marceline called out, turning to her and at the same time putting whatever she was holding behind her back.

Bonibelle pouted as she approached, "Well, what are you hiding!?" she demanded, stomping her foot on the ground to make a point.

"How cute, but that won't persuade me into telling you." S-she thinks I'm cute!? Marceline took a step closer, still holding whatever she had behind her back.

"But I wanna know!" She whined, suddenly launching herself at Marceline to try and get the mystery object. Chuckling, the raven haired girl leaned backwards into the hood of the car making Bonibelle lose her balance and falling into her.

Marceline held on to the blonde's waits and smirked, "So forward Miss Student Body President." making her blush like mad. "I see now that your plan was to seduce me!" Bonibelle had never shaken her head so fast and hard before in her life, "N-no! You g-got it all wrong!" Her legs and arms had lost all strength from the sudden closeness; she knew that any attempt to move would be futile. "I would have never taking you for someone to plan schemes Miss President." Bonibelle could tell Marceline was having a blast teasing her, but try as she might she couldn't stop blushing.

The paler girl grew serious as she stared into the other girl's eyes; she leaned dangerously close to her lips and smiled. "I got you a little present, Bonibelle." From behind her back she produced a beautiful black shirt, with a green and blue background and a big yellow snake wrapped around two impaled marshmallows. It wasn't the blonde's style at all but she loved it none the less, "It's… beautiful. Thank you Marceline, you didn't have to."

Marceline nodded as she gave her a big smile, "I know. But it was a super rad shirt you know. Plus," she straightened her back and ever so slightly raised her chin, "it's supporting the band." Aww! She's actually a big sweetheart! Bonibelle hugged her tight and fought hard not to kiss her, "Thanks Marceline." I don't care what they say about you, I've made up my mind! I will be yours. "Yeah, yeah. It was nothing really." She cleared her throat and shifted her weight around, Oh my glob! She's embarrassed! "Let's get you home, you got that meeting and all that."

Lord Abadeer was sitting on his throne like chair looking out into the distance. Tapping his three fingers on the arm of the chair he patiently waited for his daughter to report back to him. He had left the door to his study open as a test to see if Marceline could sneak up on him yet. After a few minutes his body tensed up ever so slightly, and he knew she had almost achieved victory. But instead of congratulating her for coming along in such a short period of time he said,"Everybody wants to go to heaven, but nobody wants to die my dear."

Marceline took a step away from the shadows and kneeled in front of him. "Father." He presented his hand to her, and it wasn't until she had kissed it that he went on. "You did well tonight. Now perhaps the Goblins will think twice before trying to be something they are not."

"Father, if there is someone pulling their strings… won't that person just chose a next leader?" Hudson studied her daughter before standing up, his lean and muscular figure towering over Marceline. "You came home later than usual."

His daughter bowed her head but did not take her sights off him, "I was out doing some reckoning my Lord." The man waved her to stand up and face him; his inhuman face structure ran chills down her spine. "That was smart of you. I expect a full report of your findings in my desk tomorrow."

Understanding the conversation was over Marceline once again bowed, "Yes Father. If you will excuse me." She turned on her heel and started heading out when Hudson's booming voice stopped her in her tracks.

"Marceline, do you remember what I used to tell you every night before bed?" His voice had a hint of nostalgia to it. She hasn't thought about it in ages, it had been so long that she could have sworn she had forgotten it; however the words came easily out of her lips, "Kill a man, and you are an assassin. Kill millions of men, and you are a conqueror. Kill everyone, and you are a God."
