THE MAGICAL PHANTOM

CHAPTER EIGHT: DEAD THINGS STAY DEAD

Having Danielle around had gotten easier, especially once she was settled into Daphne's dormitory, but it hadn't gotten easier on his secret. Having to explain away one sudden guest would've been heard enough considering a human charge hadn't been seen at Hogwarts before, let alone a ghost one. And then there was the fact that they were both named Danielle…

'Oh well,' Danny had thought to himself. 'Her ghost half's appearance can be explained away well enough and it's not like anybody really cares whether her human half is here or not.'

It would've been easier to keep her a secret if she wasn't required to be in his presence throughout the day since Snape didn't trust her to be left alone in the common room all day she didn't really have much of a choice. Not that she minded, however, because the young Phantom was surprisingly focused during most of the classes which Danny supposed came from her eagerness at attending the magical school.

McGonagall's class seemed to be her favorite, other than Snape's but he was fairly certain she only liked that class at all because of how he handled the potions professor. No doubt their sessions of sarcasm were more entertaining than listening to Quirrell try and read pages from his book without stuttering over every other word, so he could understand but he was glad she seemed to genuinely enjoy most of the classes. She almost reminded the elder of halfa of Hermione, but nowhere near as intense.

"She'll be a great student if she keeps this attitude up." Hermione told Danny, walking through the courtyard.

"Yeah, she's really excited. I can't see why this, of all things, gets her riled up but hey, she's happy and that's how I'm going to keep it." Danny replied. "I hope it won't wear off soon though, she's already made her impression on the teachers here."

"What makes you so sure she'll go here at all? Just because you're siblings doesn't mean she's inherited magic as well. Which of your parents were magical, Danny?" Hermione asked, finishing lowly. She knew he didn't like to talk much about it, but to her surprise he didn't even flinch when she spoke it.

"Neither." He replied simply, looking like he was thinking harder. She smiled brightly.

"Even further proves my point, you must have gotten it from an aunt or uncle, maybe a grandparent. It just goes to show that family doesn't guarantee magic." Hermione reasoned.

"I'm not so sure I got it genetically at all, actually. I think it's stemming from my, uh, other powers if you know what I mean." Danny said hesitantly. Hermione shot him a confused look, so he elaborated. "Well think about it, my broom and feather were coated in Ectoplasm because that's what I used to move them and my Ghost Sense has been tingling non-stop since I met Snape back in Diagon Ally."

"Wait, what? You were using your powers? Out in the open like that?" Hermione criticized, slapping his arm. He faked a flinch.

"It's not like it's completely out of place around here for things to glow and float, you know. But still, it wasn't intentional. It was kind of like… instinct, I guess, to try and tap into my ghost powers to pick up the pace with magic. I feel the magic there, and it's easier to channel with my wand, but my powers are influencing the magic." Danny explained quietly. He wasn't really sure how to describe it.

"Fascinating." Hermione said simply. "But now I see why you're so sure about Dani attending here as well, because she also has your abilities." She guessed, finally understanding. Danny nodded. "Well, that makes it more likely but I wouldn't get your hopes up. Magic is a funny thing. I'm sure there's another half-ghost out there somewhere without magic."

Danny stopped dead in his tracks, causing Hermione to turn around quickly, giving him a confused expression.

"There's only one other halfa besides the two of us, and even though I don't think he has magic that doesn't mean his powers can't manifest into it like mine." Danny explained after a short hesitation. "Danielle's coming, soon. Don't mention other halfas in front of her and I'll tell you everything later, I swear."

Hermione gave a quick nod of understanding before Dani came trotting into view across the courtyard, dragging Daphne with her.

"Why do I have to come," Danny heard Daphne complain. "We're only going to sit around and do nothing."

"That's all you were doing back there, so what's the difference?" Dani replied easily, continuing to pull the blonde girl.

"This way involves making me get out of bed." Daphne shot back, almost pouting. Dani chuckled, but didn't stop moving the two of them until they stood in front of Danny and Hermione, who smiled brightly at the younger Phantom.

"Excellent to see you again, Dani." She said happily. The girl in question finally released her hold on Daphne in favor of giving her brother a hi-five.

"Strong for a little thing, aren't you." Daphne took the chance to say, rolling her shoulder. The Phantom siblings exchanged a secretive glance and smile.

"You have no idea." They said at the same time. If they were in a more secluded place and Daphne wasn't so close, Hermione just knew they would be flashing their eyes a bright, radioactive green.

"Today is potions first, right?" Dani questioned, stretching as she stood. "With the Gryffindors?"

While there were no extra beds in the girls' quarters, Dani, being the girl she was, was perfectly fine to sleep on the floor. With Daphne's extra blanket and spare pillow, the little halfa was as content as could be. Although she used the blanket to sleep on rather than under, since not only would she definitely not be cold wood floors aren't comfy, even for half-ghost girls.

"Transfiguration, actually. Then potions." Daphne explained, brushing her hair as she turned to face the raven-haired girl. "Both with the Gryffindors."

"That works too." Dani agreed, adjusting her red beanie that sat on the top of her head.

"Shall we?" Daphne asked, offering her arm to the younger girl. Dani grinned and linked their arms.

"Let's." She said, before they walked away together, taking large steps down the stair in sync. They heard a snort.

"What's the matter, forgot how to walk, Greengrass? I bet it's from hanging around with that Longbottom bloke." Draco spat, standing with his arms crossed, Crabbe and Goyle on either side of him.

"You're one to talk, it seems like you can't do anything without your little posse there." Dani shot back and in that instant, Daphne no longer had any doubt that Danny and Danielle could have passed for twins.

"Coming from someone who can't walk down a set of stairs." The heir replied. Daphne only hoped that the boy was kidding, otherwise he was grasping at straws. She and Dani had definitely not been walking seriously.

"Coming from someone who can't walk without the pitter-patter of tweedledee and tweedledumb behind them." Came Dani's next retort. Draco growled and stepped forward, only to be stopped by a hand on his shoulder.

"I wouldn't do that if I were you." The haunting voice of Danny Fenton came from behind Draco, who shivered but didn't back down.

"Well you're not me, Fenton." He reminded, yanking from Danny's grasp and turning to face the other raven-haired sibling.

"And thank goodness for that, I'd hate to be stuck with that haircut." Danny quipped. Draco growled and his backup grunted but Dani and Daphne chuckled loudly from behind them.

"It's hair moron, it can be changed." A voice from the side echoed. Danny vaguely recognized it as someone named Lily who had been over infatuated with him- er, the other him.

"You mean he has it that way by choice?!" Danny cried next, as if it was the worst thing he ever heard. There was a chorus of low chuckles. "I'm so sorry." He spoke next, reaching out as if to comfort the blonde boy, who looked flustered beyond belief.

Draco quickly stormed out, his shadows following quickly. Daphne was the first to get to Danny's side, despite Dani's best efforts, and she lightly slapped his arm.

"Must you antagonize everybody?" She scolded jokingly. Danny rolled his eyes.

"Not everybody, just Draco. But yes, yes I must." He replied simply, before smiling. "Now then, off to potions where I hopefully won't burn anything."

"We have transfiguration first." Daphne corrected him, grabbing his elbow as he went to walk away.

"Off to transfiguration where you hopefully won't burn anything?" Dani offered, to which her older brother grinned and nodded.

"I was hoping against hope you wouldn't burn anything." Daphne said sadly, sighing as Quirrell tripped over himself trying to help McGonagall put out a fire that was totally not caused by Danny.

"Yeah, me too." Danny said quietly, before sighing.

Two things happened the same time he sighed; Quirrell began to get insanely frustrated with cooling the burning lamp, and Danny's magic sense came back full-force, so much so that even now that he had adjusted to it, it had managed to snake out of his mouth again. He immediately sat up straighter and glanced around the room, but nobody new had entered. Weird.

The hybrid sharpened his senses anyway, tuning in to listen closer to outside the classroom as well as sizing everyone in the room up again, this time letting more of his ghostly instincts take over. Nobody was any different than they had always been; McGonagall was still the most powerful presence in the room. Except… Quirrell's presence was… growing?

Danny's eyes narrowed suspiciously, but he couldn't do much now. Instead, he told himself he'd keep an eye on Quirrell as well as trying his best to keep track of power levels. Maybe he had misjudged Quirrell at first? It was entirely possibly, after all, since he wasn't listening to his ghostly instincts which were, admittedly, much better at that kind of stuff.

Unbeknownst to Danny, Danielle also felt the spike in power that happened in the room. Although she was much better with her ghostly instincts, she had no experience with this particular skill, since it involved magic. She could, however, tell that someone was hiding power, and it wasn't her brother.

Harry and Ron had noticed Danny's more rigid posture and began to panic, until they remembered that he would've done something by now had there been any immediate danger. That didn't ease their worry as they saw him glancing around the room.

Hermione and Daphne shared glances with one another, having seen the siblings interact the most, and knew that neither of them had seen them quite like this before, and they knew they were both going to be questioning them about it later.

Despite the quickness of the incident, for Danny and Danielle it dragged on. Even after Quirrell (who Danny was thinking of paying a visit too) left, the siblings continued to look around the room rapidly or exchange glances and no words were needed to know that they both just knew what the looks were about.

"Now then," McGonagall's shrill voice drew in the attention of all the students back to her now that someone had doused the fire. Danny didn't know who, but he bet Hermione had something to do with it. "Today, we'll be attempting to transfigure something from something else, on a greater scale."

The class went on as normal after that, with Danny only causing some minor smoke and Dani asking plenty of questions. Whether they were to Danny, Hermione or McGonagall, the younger Phantom had a lot of questions in need of answering and none of them wanted to deter her interest in magic.

So when that class passed without further incident, nobody was surprised that Danny and Snape were fired up and ready to go.

"Danny Fenton?" Snape called his name for attendance.

"Here and ready to listen, professor." Danny and Danielle said in sync and everybody just knew this class was down the crapper from the start.

"Of course you are. I hope you are aware that even kissing up before you're a student won't make me show any kind of favoritism." Snape said to Dani with a sigh. Her brother snorted.

"Unless she's in Slytherin, right? That's when you'll start to show favoritism?" Danny asked rhetorically. Even his fellow Slytherins cracked chuckles.

"I treat each and every one of my students with the same amount of utmost respect." Snape said, his monotone perfect.

"I see, and exactly how many times do you practice that in the mirror every night?" Danny retorted.

"As many times as he can before the mirror breaks." Dani added in a singsong voice. Danny and Snape's eyes widened, the elder set narrowing angrily at the little girl.

"Ten points from Slytherin, Fenton. Best you learn to respect your elders, girl, or you won't last long next year at all. I'll see to that personally." Snape threatened. Danny, knowing that Danielle overstepped both of their boundaries, attempted to speak again.

"Professor, I'm sorry about her. She tends to take things to the extreme and I'm sure we'd both appreciate it if-" Danny attempted to negotiate, ignoring Dani pulling on the back of his shirt.

"Spare me you're fake apologies, Fenton, I'm sure you've been coaching her. How many times have you played out this scene in a mirror? Probably had plenty of time since it's obvious you haven't been studying for my class." Snape reprimanded. "Perhaps I should start calling you, 'Mr. F' to acknowledge both your surname and you're class grade."

Danny and Snape both knew that was not only untrue, but he would have had a legitimate excuse due to the fact that he kind of had to take care of the sister that he had specifically instructed not be left alone.

"Should be calling you 'Professor S' for shithead." Dani muttered beneath her breath. She assumed only Danny heard her as he elbowed her and nobody else showed any visible reactions.

"Watch your language." Danny scolded her despite knowing nobody else heard it.

"Watch it do what?" Dani replied teasingly. Danny smiled a bit, but Snape scowled further.

"As interested as I am to see who can outwit who," Snape started dryly. "I must begin to teach the class, as this class I shall share information that is imperative for you all to know before you get your next assignments. Unless you want to end up like," He took a pause, and Danny already could see where this was going. "Potter!"

Everyone in the class, sans Danny, snapped their heads in Harry's direction to see him hesitantly look up from his book to face Snape and safely assumed that what he was writing wasn't notes. Danny, being the only one who kept their attention on Snape, was the only one to see the Slytherin's head of house smile a small, cruel smile.

"Yes, sir?" Harry asked, trying to keep polite.

"Tell me, Potter, what was I going to go over this class?" Snape asked harshly. Harry stuttered.

"I, erm- something imperative for us to know before our next assignments?" The-Boy-Who-Lived hesitantly replied, repeating what he'd heard the grumpy professor say a few moments before hand. Snape glared.

"Would you care to specify that?" He growled out, causing Harry to flinch.

"Maybe he didn't hear you over your hollering at Neville yesterday, professor." Danny suggested, standing up from his stool. "I mean, it was just a little bit distracting."

"Then maybe Longbottom should've known better than to put frog and newt in the same cauldron." Snape retorted, sending a side glance at Neville, who whimpered. "Ignorance doesn't excuse anything in my class."

"Then why when Draco doesn't know something it's 'a great question, Mr. Malfoy!'" but anybody else it's 'Idiot boy!'" Danny asked, doing his best impression of Snape. The class chuckled as one.

"Five points from Slytherin." Snape replied. Danny glared, and Snape met his eyes for once.

They both knew they weren't going to stop anytime soon. Snape only wanted him quiet and would say as much bullshit as he could to get it that way, but Danny had a specific topic he'd been dying to bring up especially with Snape. Snape's eyes asked Danny for compliance, but he couldn't do it yet; not when he needed answers. Answers that Snape wouldn't give alone, and they both knew it.

"Any other house would have lost fifteen. Why is that again, professor?" Danny asked, and Snape knew he wouldn't stop now.

"Sounds like favoritism to me." Harry chimed in, and the Gryffindors cheered but Danny almost face palmed. That wasn't what he was trying to bring up. Hermione slapped the back of Harry's head.

"Let Danny do the talking." She said harshly. She'd rather move on with the class, but it didn't look like that would happen now and Snape already had it in for her glasses-wearing friend. Besides, Danny was more than capable of handling the situation.

"Ten points from Gryffindor, Potter, for speaking when you weren't spoken to." Snape finished with a nod, satisfied with himself. Danny smiled. Perfect opening.

"There it goes, we did the same thing and he lost more points." Danny cried. "And it's not just Professor Snape either, there's actually a few others who are unfair with 'points' because they only want to win the cup rather than actually dealing with the problem."

"If you continue, you'll lose-" Snape started, but cut himself off. "Actually, I'm rather interested in this. Continue." He said, sitting behind his desk. Danny gave him a suspicious look, but continued.

"I'm just saying that this stupid rivalry between Gryffindor and Slytherin is just that, a stupid rivalry and it only goes back to winning the House Cup." He continued, earning gasps from nearly everybody. "It's only causing more problems than it's fixing and there are innocent people that keep getting the short end of the stick because of it."

"That was very," Snape started, unsure. "Profound, Fenton. Ten points to Slytherin." The Slytherins cheered and Gryffindors groaned.

"I give up, you're all hopeless." Danny said, flopping back onto his stool and looking back at Snape. "Teach us about the magical properties of owl talons or whatever."

"How did you know what I was going to go over this class?" Snape eyed Danny suspiciously.

But before he could answer, the loud dong sounded, signaling it was time to switch classes. Everybody moved as fast as they could to get out of the class without an assignment, except for Danny who waited until the doorway was unclogged before he stood up.

"You said it yesterday, professor." Danny said before he walked out of the room. Snape let out a small smile.

"One point to Slytherin." He told himself as his next class began filing into the room.

"That was bloody brilliant, Danny. How'd you manage to get Snape to waste a whole class like that?" Ron asked happily once they were situated in the Great Hall for dinner. Danny was once again sitting with the Gryffindors.

"Just gotta know what to say." Danny replied, although he wasn't nearly as happy as Harry and Ron.

"Well, whatever you said, good job mate. I don't know what kept him talking but as long as you remember it when we're taking tests-" Harry started, before Hermione elbowed him.

"He wasn't trying to stall class, he was trying to get answers. It just so happened to stall class." She told them. "And it probably won't happen again. Right, Danny?" It was more of a command than a question, but Danny nodded anyway.

"Right." He said simply, looking down. Hermione noticed this and frowned.

"Hey, what's wrong?" She asked, nudging him gently with the end of her spoon. His head came up instantly.

"Nothing, I'm fine." Danny winced at himself. It had been four months since he had to resort to that line. "Danielle should be here by now, I wonder where she-"

"Danny! Can you come in here for a second!" A shrill voice carried out. Amongst he commotion in the dining hall it was easy to miss, but Danny heard it loud and clear, recognizing the voice as Daphne's, and immediately stood up.

"Daphne's calling me, it probably has something to do with Dani. You coming?" Danny informed them, standing up. Hermione nodded at the question and stood up right after, and the boys followed (although they hesitated at not finishing dinner).

"What's the-" Danny asked as he exited the great hall and entered the courtyard. Daphne immediately cut him off by nearly knocking him over to get behind him. "Daph, what-" He started again, before she turned his body towards Danielle.

Danielle, petting a tyrannosaurus rex that seemed to be only twice the size of Danny's own pet cat. Danny's eyes widened and he instinctively put his arms out, pushing Hermione, Harry and Ron behind him and now understanding why Daphne was hiding behind him.

"Danielle Jean Ph-Fenton, what the actually hell happened out here?" Danny scolded. Dani blushed.

"Long version or short version?" She asked.

"Short, I'd like to get back to dinner." Ron chimed from behind Danny. Dani took it as her answer.

"I was practicing what we learned in transfiguration today with your wand, right? And at first it was going okay, until I hit this lamp, and then Daphne told me it looked like a dinosaur but I ignored her or at least I thought I did because the next thing you know I hit a chair and then BAM it's walking around and growling and I think it might be because I had dinosaurs on my mind but I don't think this has every happened before and-" Dani rambled, until Danny cut her off.

"Dani, breath." He instructed simply, and she took a deep breath. "It's fine, I'm sure McGonagall or someone can just reverse-" Danny began, until it started to bare it's teeth. "Or we can keep it, sure. That too." He decided, eying the dinosaur.

"Who do we know that's good with possibly dangerous animals, can keep it a secret and won't be intent on shipping it off to some collector?" Danielle asked, slightly afraid as her creation eyed her.

Realization sparked in Danny, Hermione, Harry and Ron's eyes.

"Female, fer sure. Appears t'be docile enough, 'f not outright friendly. Seems like she favors Danielle here quite a bit, though." Hagrid listed off, watching as the miniature T. Rex stood by the youngest halfa rather than anyone else in the room.

"She won't, you know, eat anybody will she?" Daphne asked, placing Danny between her and the dinosaur once again, despite already being the furthest away. Hagrid chuckled.

"No, I don't think so. But she came from yer wand, you said?" The gamekeeper asked Dani, who shrugged.

"His wand, actually. I don't have one yet." She told him, embarrassed.

Hagrid pushed away the surprise that not only could Danielle wield Danny's wand at all, but also something as advanced as transfiguration in favor of more advice.

"I'd talk ter Professor McGonagall 'bout this. She could maybe tell yer why it- she came out the way she did." Hagrid offered. Danny nodded. "'Til then, I'd be more than 'appy ter keep her with me. Maybe she can help with me chicken problem." He finished in a hearty laugh.

"Thanks Hagrid, you don't know how much we appreciate this." Danny said. "And yes, Dani, you can visit whenever you want, as long as you have Hagrid's permission."

"Think I could stay here for a little while longer?" Dani pleaded with her brother, who looked at Hagrid, who nodded happily.

"I'll be back in a few hours then." Danny said with a sigh. "Let's go guys, we should talk to McGonagall sooner rather than later."

Daphne was first out, practically sprinting from Danny's side to the door. Harry and Ron followed, running as well, but probably so they didn't have to talk to McGonagall rather than fear of the T. Rex. Hermione rolled her eyes.

"Haven't they ever heard of manners? It's ladies first!" She yelled after them, but they were long gone. She indignantly left the hut after that. Danny and Hagrid chuckled at her.

"Be good Danielle, we'll come back later hopefully with more information." Danny said, exiting as well. He found Hermione outside waiting for him.

"Ladies first you said?" He asked, smirking. "Don't worry, we'll get there first."

Ignoring Hermione's questioning look, Danny quickly scooped her up in his arms and took off through the sky, Hermione shouting the whole way.

"So, what you're telling me is that someone, who isn't even a student here, managed to transfigure a chair into a living replica of a creature that's supposed to be nonexistent and this- this thing is behaving strangely?" McGonagall questioned the two pre-teens standing before her.

Danny and Hermione smiled and nodded rapidly. McGonagall scoffed, before sighing.

"If it came from anyone else, Fenton, I wouldn't be taking this even an eight as seriously as I am now." She informed them. Danny smiled sheepishly at her. It seemed he had already gotten himself a reputation.

"Look, this, eh, creature is usually thought to be aggressive and carnivorous and things like that, but all this thing wants to do is stand by Danielle. Could it be an effect of the spell or something?" Danny asked, ignoring the professors' shock.

"I suppose it could be that, since this creature is, in fact, living now that it's instincts were overridden by Ms. Fenton's, those of a witch would no doubt be strong enough to suppress a non-sentient being. It's possible that, due to her inexperience with controlling her abilities, that she projected them outward instead of her magical prowess and that, coupled with your wand," She added, addressing Danny. "That she didn't have complete control over even that."

"Well, this… being," Hermione started, unsure. "Is almost like the muggle equivalent of a dragon, bar the ability to fly, and it doesn't seem elated with the thought of going anywhere."

"Wizards or not, I'd rather not go out there and fight a T. Rex, however small it may be." Danny played his innocent card. He knew it would work in front of McGonagall with Hermione by his side. Sure enough, she sighed.

"I suppose it can stay with Hagrid for now, until we learn more of it." McGonagall decided. Danny and Hermione grinned, the later almost jumping up and down.

"You can count on me, Professor, I'm looking forward to learning all about it." She assured the elder witch, before she practically skipped away. Danny went to follow, but was called back.

"I've been meaning to ask you something." McGonagall started, and took Danny's silence as a queue to continue. "Your sister. The other day she mentioned waking up younger than she was when she went to sleep the previous night? You wouldn't happen to know anything about that, would you?"

Danny's instincts were practically screaming at him to lie, which was a reflex by this point. It was common knowledge throughout his circle of friends and even enemies that, despite his great support system of three people, nobody else knew anywhere near the truth of his friends lives, let alone his own. He was lying to his parents, teachers, principal, etc. and that his friends were doing the same in order to cover for him. In fact, as awful as the relationship was, the only adult he was completely honest with was, well, Vlad.

But on the other hand, his logical side was telling him he might as well fess up now. It had only taken two months for his biggest secret to get spilled so it was only a matter of time before the huge wall he had built up started to crack, and each crack would let out thousands of little tid-bits of information. And he'd rather not have to go back and explain since the halfa knew that, with his luck, this secret would come out one way or another so it might as well be by him.

"About four months ago, in my home town, there was an accident. My whole family plus my two best friends were killed that night. Only it wasn't an accident." Danny started. "There's- there's another. Halfa, that is. There's one more. He's older than both of us, and he's had his powers for longer than I've been alive. But he- he didn't use his for good like we do, er, did. And he resented me for it. He wanted me on his side, so we could 'take the world by storm' or whatever. But I wouldn't go, not when I had the people I loved to protect." He continued, fighting down a sob. "So, he made sure I had nothing left to protect." McGonagall looked down in sorrow while Danny continued on.

"I ran away after that, I couldn't stay there or he would find me, eventually. I really didn't want that, so I went to my mentor of sorts. Clockwork, the Ghost of Time. He told me he had somewhere I could start over, somewhere I could help." He paused, watching for her reaction.

"It was here." McGonagall said simply. It wasn't a question, but a fact.

"But he said to be any help at all I had to be a first year student, not sure what that was about though. He never does give me the whole story. So he turned back my personal clock, took some years off. I guess it's somehow really connected to me, because after I was a whole three years younger. I'm not sure why it happened to Danielle too, though, even if it was his doing. Like I said, he never tells me everything." Danny finished, before muttering, "Sometimes he doesn't tell me anything."

"Once more, if this was coming from any other student, Fenton…" She trailed off, shaking her head in something akin to amusement before she sighed. "Thank you for your honesty, Danny, and I can assure you that all of your secrets are safe with Professors Dumbledore, Snape and I." McGonagall finished. Danny nodded his understanding.

"You're the only people who know about Danielle too, so I expect that even when she leaves here that you won't say anything." He told her. He was sure they wouldn't, but it never hurt to double check.

"Of course." She assured. He nodded. "Now then, thank you for stopping by but I think it's time you got going. Your homework won't do itself."

"Right," Danny said hesitantly. "Bye, Professor." He said, before flickering from view.

"I don't think I'll ever get used to that." McGonagall muttered to herself with a small smile on her face.

"You heard everything, didn't you?" Danny's voice echoed from behind Hermione, who was stalking away from the doorway. She turned to see him pop into her vision, a frown on his face.

"I- I didn't mean to." Hermione started, stuttering. "I thought it was going to be more about Danielle and where she'd stay, I never meant to-" She began to explain, but Danny cut her off.

"It's okay. You were bound to find out some time too, right? It's just- I never thought it would be this soon, is all. I guess you have a lot of questions, huh?" Danny guessed, sighing a bit.

"No, I had a lot of questions before. Now I have too many questions." Hermione corrected him, placing a hand on his shoulder. "But for now, we can just go back and talk to Dani." She assured him. He sighed.

"Just promise you won't tell anyone else, not even Harry and Ron. I don't want them to know. Not yet, anyway. And if you have questions about other halfas, please, please come to me and not Dani. She knows basically just as much as I do about all that stuff but she doesn't like talking about… him." Danny pleaded. Hermione gave a comforting smile.

"Of course." She told him, before grabbing his wrist. "Now let's go, Dani and Hagrid are probably waiting for us." She finished, beginning to drag the ghost-boy.

Danny allowed himself to be dragged away by the small girl, who was giggling all the way.

Aaaand that's a wrap.

What did you guys think of this chapter? It was a long process but I finally managed to find the time I needed to complete this, it would've been done sooner if I didn't have to babysit for my little cousin the past two days.

Quite a few things happened here, as usual Danny is stuck in the center of it all. As for the dinosaur, well…. Let's just say Chaos Infinity-X and I enjoyed Jurassic World a whole lot.

Speaking of Chaos Infinity-X, I have an announcement. He and I are going to be starting a new story together soon, called "Phantom of Heroes", which is a triple crossover of the DP, DC and Marvel universes so if that sounds at all interesting, check my profile often for the story.

Other than that, just keep reading folks and as always feedback is very appreciated.
