Amused, Thalia continued to watch Percy slam his foot down onto the pedal, yet again. The sewing machine didn't react, however, instead remaining motionlessly on the table. "It's not working!" Percy groaned in annoyance.
Thalia snickered quietly.
Percy turned to her. "I'm doing something wrong, aren't I?" Thalia only replied with more stifled laughter. Percy gave her the seal eyes. "Can you tell me what I'm doing wrong?" Thalia pointed at the machine. "The foot pedal's not plugged in, stupid." Percy frowned in confusion at the pedal, then the unplugged cord connected to it.
He banged his head on the table. "I'm such an idiot." Thalia erupted into a small fit of laughter. "It was so entertaining, though! You kept stepping on the pedal, and nothing happened." Percy groaned again. "What a friend you are." He grumbled.
Thalia knew about the whole 'stranger danger' thing, but she trusted Percy. She had told him about her life; how her brother had been shipped off to a foster home because their mother was incapable. How she and her alcoholic mother always fought, and how her mother was so angry because their dad walked out. She told him about her foster mother, Diana, who treated her like a person, not some animal that was expected to do a trick.
She didn't know why, but Thalia felt like she could tell Percy anything and he would keep it a secret. He just had that air about him, trustworthy written all over him.
Thalia thought he trusted her, too.
Percy told her about his life. His dad walked out, too. A famous marine biologist that went by the name 'Poseidon'. She found out that he lived with his mom, Sally Jackson, and his step father, Paul Blofis, in an apartment in Mahattan.
Personally, Thalia thought the pen name 'Poseidon' was pretty stupid. Like, who names themselves after some irrelevant Greek God?
Thalia didn't tell Percy about him, though. There was no need to, because the said person was just another dickhead in her life.
Although, Thalia felt like Percy wasn't telling her something, either. Like he was holding back. She didn't really mind, though.
"Why are the teachers always late?" Percy groaned. "I'm not really complaining," Thalia muttered. "History's one of my least favourite classes." "Waiting around like this is boring," Percy reasoned.
"Speak of the devil," Thalia muttered as the history teacher walked in. He hastily put down some sheets he was holding onto his desk. "Hello class!" He chorused, but no one responded to the gleeful greeting. Thalia didn't actually know what his surname was, yet she didn't care either.
The teacher almost looked uneasy for a moment. "Uh, we have a project coming up! How wonderful is that?" Did this guy want a punch to the face? The only replies he got were groans of annoyance.
"This semester, we will be focusing on the ancient times. Or, more precisely, Ancient Greece." The teacher explained. "Oh no." Percy groaned, but it was hard to hear, seeing as his face was buried into his hands.
"So, about the project, the students will choose one partner. They will then have to list the information on the sheets that are being handed out right now."
Immediantly Thalia turned to Percy. "You're my partner on this," she simply stated. Percy shrugged. "I just hope your good at ancient history." "Hey, you're helping with this too!" "Fine."
The sheet landed on her desk and she picked it up. As soon as she read the first few lines she wanted to get up and punch the teacher's lights out.
"Greek Mythology?" She managed. "You've got to be kidding me!" It was her fifth week here, and she was not feeling very 'Goode' right now.
Percy glanced over while running a hand through his hair. "We could get Piper to lend us a couple books." (Remember? Because Piper studied it with Tristan?... Oh well, I tried) "I guess.." Thalia mumbled, but she still wanted to punch the teacher.
Thalia bit into her cold-meat sandwich. She was on the end next to Frank, who was next to Piper. Leo was sitting next to Percy, who was sitting in front of her. She was pretty sure Leo was checking her out. Her thoughts were proven correct when she caught him looking. "What are you looking at, Valdez?" She growled. Leo flinched away faster than a cheetah, almost knocking Hazel off the bench from her seat next to him. Percy sniggered and Piper chuckled.
Turning her attention away from a frazzled Leo, she faced Percy. "Can we meet at your's for the project?" Percy seemed to think about it for a moment. "Sure. After school?" "Sounds fine." Thalia replied. Percy turned to Piper. "Piper, can we pleeeeeeeease borrow some of your Greek Mythology books?" He begged, putting on a pout with his hands in a praying gesture.
Piper blinked. "I would've lended them without the pout..." She mummered. "I have a few in my locker. I'll give them to you after this break." "Thanks Piper!"
A group of girls walked past the table. They stopped in front of where Percy sat. "Hey Percy." They chorused, some of them giggling. Thalia spotted Piper rolling her eyes with a small smirk on her features. Percy sighed under his breath, giving the clue that he had dealed with this before. "Hello ladies."
A girl, Thalia guessed she was the leader, stepped forward. She ran her long pink nails over Percy's arm and shoulder. "So Percy... Do you want to maybe.. Hang out after school at my place?" She purred. Percy looked uneasy as his eyes flickered around the cafeteria, almost as if he was searching for some kind of escape route.
His eyes landed on Leo, who was staring at the girl. "Well, Kylie, I have something planned for this afternoon... But maybe you could ask Leo?" Thalia had to clamp a hand over her mouth to stifle her laughter at Leo's shocked face. "W-what?" He spluttered.
Kyle looked over at Leo in distaste, twirling her brown hair between her fingers. "Oh, that's a shame." She said, turning back to Percy. "Maybe another time?" She winked, and Thalia hardly managed to not gag. Kylie walked off before Percy could refuse.
Piper, still smirking, turned to Leo. "I thought you took any chance with a girl." Leo shook his head frantically. "Kylie? No way. She's a bitch that throws herself onto almost anything she finds hot." Piper rolled her eyes. "Because you have so much experience with women."
"Hey! I do!"
"Whatever you say, Leo."
Hey... Sorry, (again!) for taking millenia to write something. The reason? Three words: Homework's a bitch.
Hmm, what's this? Jason and Annabeth weren't at the bench? Strange... *manical laughter*
Percy: Why am I sewing?
Me: Someone has to pay the debt for being granted cool things...
Percy: You put lingerie in my trolley at Walmart!
Me: That was the Stolls. AND I let you terrorise the mortals in an elevator.
Percy: Touché.
Leo: I resisted a lady?
Me: Yup.
Leo: I even got to insult her! Yes!
Me: You're welcome.
Leo: ...Thanks.
