Somewhere In Between
Artemis found his eyes to be groggy, which was weird considering that his last memory involved dying, and not just once. As the events replayed in his mind , a bit too vividly for his taste he could distinctly recall having died twice. As if that wasn't disconcerting enough, the manner of how it happened the second time around was something he swore to never visit again. That coming from someone who branched off to make a criminal empire at the age of 15 was not to be taken lightly at the very least.
'Wait, what the…when did.' he had to clutch his head in both his hands as pain shot up through his skull. Memories were being over laid with new ones, yet they were not changed. He could sift through how things were different. His head was ringing, the constant influx of memories was numbing his mind.
'Gwaaah…' Artemis desperately tried to remind himself to breathe, he knew he was having a panic attack, the first one In a while, or was It the one he had a week ago? Adding fire to his rapidly deteriorating sanity, were the events of the past he couldn't rely on to make sense anymore. Too tired to process what was happening, too emotionally drained to care anymore, he finally gave in.
As darkness took over his mind and he mumbled something his mother often told him when he found it hard to sleep, which was not surprising given who he was. But who was he?
