Parallel Heart Chapter 5.

Togetic, eevee, and buneary decides to go to the lake to wash up and drink while Mega takes a nap in the hideout, "do you find it unusual that Mega was the first to fall asleep last night, and yet he needs a nap right after?" Togetic asks thinking about the situation.

"Yeah, now that you mention it, it does seem weird," eevee replies, also gluing the clues together.

Buneary knows the reason why, but she figures not to tell them or they'll probably scowl her for spying on Mega in the first place. "He probably couldn't get that much sleep last night," she suggests to the wondering two.

"Maybe you're right," they said in unison and stop thinking about it.

Buneary mentally sighs in relief and tries to make a conversation that doesn't involve Mega for once, "what is it about today that'll make us busy?"

"I'm glad you asked," togetic replies with a smile, "today, we're gonna give ourselves names."

This causes the other two to be in complete shock, mainly because they wouldn't think about it. But exciting for them as they'll feel different than the rest of their species.

"Let's start off with you," togetic points at eevee.

"Me!?" Eevee shouts in confusion.

"Yes, you," togetic starts to think and only came up with three names, but only choose two, "which do you prefer, 'Cutie' or 'Beauty'?"

Eevee thinks it over and she actually likes the names, but she prefers one over the other, "'Beauty' sounds better."

"As for you, buneary," buneary was hesitate about it, because she might not like the names togetic picks. "All I can think of for you is 'Lily', because you have the habbit of picking flowers and smelling them whenever you have the chance," it's true buneary loves flowers, she loves them more than anything else in life.

So she thinks about it and asks, "how about 'Rose' instead?"

Beauty and togetic look at each other for a moment then nods with a smile of agreement, "okay, Rose," the two said in unison.

"You two should stop talking in unison, it's getting creepy now."

Now Beauty and Rose have to come up with a name for togetic. They tried so many names, but it just doesn't suit her very well, name after name they only receives a "no," from togetic indicating she doesn't like it.

"How about 'Dutches'?" Beauty suggests, making the both almost gag from the mentioning of that name.

"No offense, but that sounds like an awful-looking female creature that thinks she's the best thing ever created when really she's the worst," the togetic comments.

"How about 'Raine'?" Rose suggests, receiving a headshake from the both.

"Saria?"

"No. Sounds like a name for a forest person."

"Heartfelia?"

"No. That should go a human that belongs to a rich family in some fairy tale."

This keeps going on until, "...How about 'Knolla'?" Rose desperately suggests.

"'Knolla'?" The fairy pokemon questions.

"Yeah, short for 'Knowledge'."

Togetic thinks and enjoys the sound of the name rolling down her tongue and likes the meaning behind the name, she then flies in a twirl slightly above the ground with joy, "I love it, Knolla has a ring to what I am: a genius."

The other two just sighs as they finally got their picky friend to agree to a name as they gesture to go back home for some relaxation. They also hope that Mega finally wakes up to introduce themselves as pokemon with names rather than just pokemon, after all they're all friends now.

A loud yawn can be heard from inside the hideout, making all of the bird pokemon taking shelter on the trees to fly away from there due to the lack of knowledge of where that's coming from.

"Arceus, what a nap," a certain pikachu happily says as he stretches his body from his long slumber. "Can't wait for the training that I planned yesterday."

"Mega, we're home!" he hears the eevee shout in the middle of his stretching. He then decends downstairs, "how are you girls been?" He shouts mid-way of the staircase.

"Great, we got a surprise for you," when he reaches at the end of the staircase he could see the three pokemon giggling among themselves, "what's th' surprise?" He asks half-asleep.

"You should go first," the togetic tells the eevee.

"Okay," she turns to Mega and bows with one paw against her chest, "I'm Beauty, nice to meet you."

The togetic gets in front of Beauty and stutters nervously as she hold her hands and bows, "I-I'm Knolla, p-pleasure to meet your aquaintance."

Lastly, buneary poses while pulling her fluff from side-to-side, "and I'm Rose, it's great to have you living with us, Mega."

Mega couldn't believe what he's witnessing, "you three have names now?" He asks, only to get a nod from all three in response, "that's great, and they fit you all so well."

"That's because we put our heads together, Meggy," Beauty replies with a flirty wink.

"'Meggy'?" Mega cocks an eyebrow at the named-eevee, "yeah, that's what I'm gonna call you from now on." All he replies that is a careless laughing.

"A-as for me, I'll just call you by your real name... that's all," was all Knolla could muster up. She looks the other way with a blush on her face.

"Mega, you promised," Rose says indicating she was done with what she was busy with, "okay, a promise is a promise," Mega says and walks up the stairs to go outside with her.

"Wait, where are you going?" Beauty asks, "we're just going for a walk in the forest," Mega lies as they open the door to leave.

After they left, Beauty was concerned about what he meant by that. Knolla, on the other hand, was just relaxed about it, "will you just relax already?" She asks and flies up the stairs to her room.

Beauty just yells over at the staircase the togetic's in, "how can you say that at a time like this?"

"I don't see the problem with them just taking a walk, Mega needs fresh air as much as the rest of us," Knolla replies as she flies down with a book in her hands.

"Where'd you get that book?" Beauty asks surprised seeing a book for the first time in years, "I found this in the underground library... which you shouldn't know about."

"Huh?"

Knolla sighs because she has to explain the legend to the little eevee, "a long time ago, when the Amaru region was first created, humans made two different civilization here in Pokeball Forest: the north and the south. This is the reason why we have different parts of the forest to this day. Everything was peaceful where pokemon and humans could live in harmony.

But as technology begins to improve, pokemon were stopped being considered as friends and reconsidered to be weapons instead in a war where humans were trying to take over the region for their own heart's desire. The war went on between the two civilization and the pokemon had no choice but to kill each other, whether or not they're family, friends, or even lovers. The pokemon begged to the legendary god pokemon, Arceus, for salvation as they suffer such a ever-lasting hell.

Arceus answers those prayers and saved the suffering pokemon, and in the process, made a horrible rock slide from the montain in the very middle of the forest to bury the humans for their sins. Ever since then, there have been no humans sighted in the Amaru region. But if they are, the pokemon will show them no mercy for they will not wish to feel the same fate as their ancestors."

Beauty couldn't believe that such a legend truly exists on the very ground they live on, "wait, that legend still doesn't explain on how you got that book," she sees the togetic sigh once again as she flies to the tip of the giant crystal.

"That's where I was going with this book. Legends exists for a reason; because the library of one of the lost city is right below us," she said as she touches the tip of the crystal.

Slowly, the crystal shakes the entire floor below them and reveal an entrance to a staircase made of the same material as the glowing crystal.

"Wow," was all Beauty could muster up. She looks at Knolla with a look, who only sigh in response and getures the eevee that she can decend down the staircase...

"So how strong are you, Rose?"

"I'm not half as strong as you, but I think I can hold my own in a fight," Rose has the courage to muster up the confession, "I want to thank you for what you've done for me yesterday."

This made Mega blush a bit from the sudden gratitude, "it's no problem... Fast Star was strong and I like a good battle," Mega said scratching the back of his head, trying to hold back his excitement.

Rose looks at Flat Mountain in the middle of the forest and asks, "how do you think Flat Mountain got like that, anyway?"

"I've heard there was once a huge battle between Arceus, the god of all pokemon, and Mew, the ancestor of all pokemon, here," was Mega's reply to the question, making her look at him concerned.

"who won?" Mega's response to that question was just a simple shrug, "no one knows... but the very last blast caused the mountain to blow up and made the two realized their mistake, so they created a new mountain, but flat halfway through to symbolize their mistake."

Rose was surprised that Mega knows such a legend, "How do you know that?"

Just as Mega is about to say another word to that question, a pop from the ground stops him in his tracks, revealing a swinub. "Hey Mega, hey buneary."

"I believe you know one of my brothers, Diggy," Mega introduces Diggy, who just smiles in response.

"Hello Diggy, I'm Rose, it's so nice to see you again," Rose said and convincingly pretend to realize something, "you said 'one of my brothers' does that mean you have another?"

"Yup, but you won't be seeing him anytime soon," Diggy answers back.

Mega coughs, "we're not brothers by blood, but by spirit."

Diggy asks Rose, "how's your home?"

"It's doing well, there's three more pokemon, including Mega, living with me," she replies happily, "why don't you come over sometimes and catch up over dinner?"

"As much as I'd love to, I have somewhere to go right now. When I come back, I'll take you up on that offer, laters you two," Diggy turns his back on them and digs back underground. He leaves a pile of dirt behind him, indicating his departure.

"It was nice to see him again... even though it was short." The bunny pokemon said after the swinub left.

"Yeah, he's been busy lately," Mega replies to her sadness, "let's go back home, I'll make you some juice."

The mentioning of juice brightened up her mood, "yeah, let's go." She then grabs his hand and drags him back to their home...

"Wow, I never thought there'd be such a place like that underneath our home," Beauty said with her eyes spinning just thinking about it as they just left the room.

"Yeah now that you know, it'd be best not to let the other two know," Knolla said touching the tip of crystal once more, making the door close in the process.

Beauty turns back to her genius-of-a-friend with a look of fustration, "what? Why? Rose has every right to know, she offered us shelter when we needed it the most!"

"Don't remind me, those were bad days," was all she could muster up. She thinks about it; she has every rights to know what's within her own sanctuary of a home. "Okay, she's bound to know eventually, afterall, she's smarter than you in this category of intelligence."

"Hey!" was all Beauty could yell in response to the sudden insult.

The door suddenly slams open, "we're back," yells Rose as she hops down the stairs joyfully and Mega just walking down with a smile on his face.

"I'm taking you had a good walk," assumed the togetic.

"Yeah! It's feels good to enjoy the little things and he told me what he heard about Flat Mountain's legend."

This shocks the eevee and togetic defenseless, "how did it happened?" Was all Beauty asks.

"He told me it was caused by Arceus and Mew fighting, but they destroyed the first mountain in the process, so they created another mountain, but made it flat as a symbol of their mistake." This makes Knolla surprise, because that part of legend is also true. She didn't expect Mega to know that piece of information because that was recorded in a book in the underground library.

"Should we show them, Knolla?" Asks Beauty.

That sudden question make the other two confuse and ask in unison, "show us what?"

Knolla sighs in frustration, she knew she has to show them eventually, but she didn't expect the eevee to just blurt it out right then and there.

"Fine," she turns to the two, "promise me you'll won't tell anyone," this made them even more curious and nod in agreement.

"Good, but first, do you know the legend of the lost civilization?" Knolla asks them, but Mega answers that question, "I do, and I think it's true because there were a few things I found in the northern part of the forest back then."

"What did you find?" She asks in curiousity.

"I found a tiny cave. I made it my main source for shelter, in that cave was carvings that tells the tale of Arceus and Mew's battle along with a well-reserved book that taught me how to juice berries properly." This surprises the three as he explains how he knew the legend and how much.

"Anyways," Knolla continues, "there's still more of it."

"How can you be sure, Knolla?"

"Because it's right below us," she flies to the tip of the crystal and touches it with her hand.

The same process happens as before with Beauty and the entrance shows itself, "I knew there was something different about that crystal," Mega shouts and his echo can be heard from the entrance.

The four of them decends down the stairs, "it seems this giant crystal still goes on down this spiral staircase, like the tree that contains our rooms," Rose said as she was the first to break the silence.

"Oh you have no idea," Beauty replies from behind her.

Soon after they've reached the end of the spiral staircase, but the two couldn't believe their eyes, shelves after shelves, row after row, books were all over the place and it seems to go on forever.

"Wow, I never knew this was underneath my own home!" Rose says the giant room echoes her repeated words. She then begins to walk around memorized by the sight before her.

"Yeah, what are the chances of me being here of all places?" Mega asks and looks up to see that the ceiling and the walls themselves are made of the crystal material, then he set his sight at what seems to be written paper on the walls.

The papers were in glass, but they look like they've been there for centuries. Knolla flies towards him as he looks at the old, departing reading materials, "yeah, even I can't read what it says," she looks at the well, perserved paper, for the fact that they're still there is astounding.

"I think I can," Mega says as he touches the glass, only for a strange sound to announce its presence.

"LIFE FORM DETECTED!" They hear a voice as the ceiling glows into a brighter setting, "COMMENSE FINAL DIARY ENTRY FROM PROFESSOR VENOM!"

Blue lights begin to form from above the glass cases and materialize into what they assume to a human child as she seems to be in their height and doesn't have any traces of maturity. She wears a coat that's clearly too large for her as the sleeves out-reaches her, a pair of pajama pants with holes in the knee area, has her hair in a long ponytail, and wears glasses. But what's grimming is the fact she's seems to lack nutrition due to the fact her appearance is so skinny that everyone can see that they can see the structure of her bones all over her face.

"Is this thing on?" She asks in concern, letting them know she's not alive but just a recording of some time, "it is? Okay great!"

She then adjusts her glasses with her bony, right hand underneath her sleeves and coughs to clear her throat as she address to what's in front of her.

"Anyone who is hearing this, please heed this warning for this might be the last recording before we die," there seems to be static as she talks but it remains audible for them to hear, "the legends of the Neos pokemon are indeed real, but their powers are so overwelming even we can't control it very well.

Please, I beg of you, let them roam freely for they are the future of the Amaru region, NO, the future of the world. They are scattered across this very region and needs to be protected at all cost. There is a book within this library that will tell you everything we've recorded about these powerful pokemon and we hope you will use it to save them. Even though we have very little information about them, nor about their origins, but they're still better than nothing I suppose.

It's already too late for us humans in this timeline to be forgiven by the merciful Arceus for I can feel my life slipping as this is being recored." She breathes for a moment before pointing what's in front of her, "however it isn't for you, so please, don't repeat the same mistake we did. Don't let history repeat itself for you will suffer the same fate as we did."

She then falls down face-first to the ground. As she lays there, the four pokemon can hear her breathing slowing down until it eventually stops all together before the lights projecting her as her already lifeless body disappears.

Knolla goes behind the desk to find a paper along with a pencil to write down what she just heard from the recording. She can't help but feel sorry for the fate that they had to suffer in order to give out the warning they've been holding after all this time.

The other three pokemon try to think of what they just witnessed and the location where she died before she truly disappeared. Mega clenched his fists tightly as he processed what happened, "if only you learned how to live to be friends alongside with pokemon instead of treating them like weapons for war none of that would've been needed."

Feeling his anger boiling from the recording, Beauty and Rose walks over to Mega from both side and gently place their paw against his hand to calm him down. It works as they feel his hands relaxing and letting go before grabbing both of them for comfort. They remain to hold his hands as they turn around to walk away from the glass cases. They plan to look for something to read that's inside the library to keep their minds off the tragedy that history left behind.

Time passes about an hour later for the gang as they all found books to read until, "hey everybody, look what I found," Mega shouts, making everyone stop reading and go to where they heard him, only find him on some kind of yellow... whatever it is.

"That actually looks pretty comfortable," Rose said and notices three more were at a corner. She wants to jump on the other mysterious object and relax.

"I've found out they're call 'bean bags'," Mega says as he points at a piece of piece of paper attached to it, "and they're so comfortable, I could sleep on it right now," he rolls around on it and the bean bag shifts to his body weight.

"Let's take them to our rooms and put them as our new nests," Rose suggests, grabbing a red one, but having struggle with just having a proper grip on the water-like bag.

"That sounds like a good idea, but I think pulling them one at a time is a better idea," Knolla said looking at the way Rose was having a hard time pulling it.

Mega holds onto two of the bean bags, the yellow one he was about to sleep on, and a blue one that Beauty called dibs over his shoulder, despite how they shift to the shape of his shoulders and how they flop around. The others were trying their best to carry the red one that Rose call dibs, but couldn't. They decide to let Mega carry all of them, which he's okay with considering it's the least he could do for them.

"Okay, once I'm done, I'll be reading that book over there," Mega said pointing at a book on the top of a bookshelf and leaves the room.

Togetic flies over to the book Mega was pointing at and looks over it, never has she seen a book out of place throughout the entire time she's been here. She shrugs it off then flies down to read it on the white bean bag that was now hers.

"Didn't Mega just say he wants to read that book?" Beauty asks concern that Knolla was reading it.

"Relax, I'm just flipping through it," she replies as though she've done this before.

"Wouldn't he be mad?"

"Nah, I highly doubt it," she assume and reads it a bit, "this book is quite unusual."

"Huh," were the two who responded to that statement, "it just contains pictures of pokemon in different timelines and it has no title of it either, why would anyone want to read this?"

"That's because the book might have the answers I'm looking for," they turn around to see Mega grabbing the red one over his shoulder and goes to Knolla, "would you please get off the bean bag so I can put in your room?" Mega asks politely and Knolla just flies up in response.

"I think the questions are the Neos pokemon, aren't they?" Rose asks as she sees him pick up the bean bags. All he does is shakes his head, " nah, a more personal question actually," he then goes up to the stairs.

After the bean bags were placed into their proper rooms, Mega got the book from Knolla and goes off to relax on his new nest. Shifting to his weight once more, he feels he could take a nap just like before, but he decides to stay awake and read the book. "I hope you have the answers I'm looking for," he says to the book and flips to the first page.

All of a sudden, he gasps at he's witnessing right now. He couldn't believe his eyes: the pokemon on the first page looks exactly like him, except for the scar isn't there, he's doing a fighting pose Mega would use in battle, and the name of this pokemon is labelled beneath the picture 'Ray.'

"Dad?" Was all Mega could ask as he looks at the picture with disbelief.
