CHAPTER 7

Alois canceled on Claude. Again!

Claude was actually pacing his house fuming. He was with that Luca ass hole wasn't he. His mind drifted back to the bruises he had seen on Alois' wrists. What if that asshole had tied him up again, and was probably hurting him. With that horrific thought he grabbed his keys and hurried to his car. He had Alois' address, and frankly, if he was hurting him then he had every right to bust in there and help him. He couldn't wait to punch this Luca guy in the face!

The entire drive he was picturing what he would do to this guy. He imagined some faceless punk shorter than him, because hell it was his fantasy. So the asshole could be shorter than him if he wanted. He imagined busting down the door and punching that guy so hard he flew to the other side of the room. Which was great in a fantasy but at best he would just have to hope he was standing in front of some furniture so when he punched him he could fall over it. Then, Alois would understand what asshole he was and tell Claude that he wants to move in with him.

He vaguely wondered if that was something that might have happened in the damn movie Alois was going on and on about. Maybe at some point he should actually watch it. He pulled up to Alois' apartment. The place was shit hole. He had only been there once to leave Alois a message on his door. He had never actually gone inside. Though he was going to now!

He took the stairs two at a time and went to his apartment door. He started to grab the handle but then decided he should probably knock first.

Their was instant noise. The sound of something clattering, the scrapping of a chair on the floor and then silence.

He knocked again.

Nothing.

He knocked again.

Nothing.

He knocked again, harder.

"No one's home," called a rather small voice.

Fuck this. He used his elbow to bust the door open. The lock wasn't very sturdy and he got in much easier than he had expected.

"Alright Luca where are you!" he snapped knowing he sounded much angrier than the situation called for. But at the moment he didn't care.

He heard some small shuffling noises coming from behind the couch and he glanced in that direction. Was this guy honestly hiding from him behind the couch! What a coward, how could Alois like someone like... Claude had walked over. Their was a small boy with his knees pulled up to his chest, his face buried in his arms. He looked up his eyes glossy from being on the verge of tears. And realization hit him like a ton of fucking bricks.

"You're Luca..." he said softly.

"Uh-huh," he nodded still shaking.

"Shit," he cursed before holding out his hand.

Luca scurried further back away from him.

"It's okay, you can come out. I'm not going to hurt you."

"I'm not supposed to let strangers in..." Luca explained crying. "And you're strange!"

He laughed a little at that. "I'm not a stranger, I know your brother Alois. We're good friends."

"You are?"

"Yup, c'mon."

He looked at his hand and then back up at his face and the tentatively he took it letting Claude pull him to his feet.

"There, see..." Claude said smiling. "Are you hungry? I'll make you something."

"Pancakes?" Luca suggested.

"Whatever you want," Claude felt it was the least he could do for scaring the poor kid to death. He went over to the fridge. Other than an apple and a bag of frozen peas, all they had was stuff to make pancakes with. So he got to work.

About ten minutes later the door opened, "Luca I'm ho..."

It was Alois' voice, but he stopped when he noticed the lock had be snapped off. Panicking slightly he burst in dropping what he was carrying. "LUCA!"

Claude and Luca were sitting at the table blinking at him. Both of them in the process of eating pancakes. Alois blinked trying to understand the scene.

"What the hell happened!"

"This is Claude!" Luca said. "He's your friend remember?"

"He isn't anymore!"

Luca blinked, looking from Claude to Alois.

"Luca go to your room."

"But I'm eating."

"GO TO YOUR ROOM!" Alois snapped furiously and Luca jumped at that hurrying into a side door that he closed behind him.

"What the hell do you think you're doing in my house?" Alois snapped. He looked angrier than Claude had ever seen him. But he also looked to be on the verge of tears.

"You had canceled on me again, and well... I thought the worst. Why didn't you just tell me that Luca guy was your brother."

"First off, I'm not obligated to tell you fucking anything! Second, to come to my home unannounced. Just what the hell were you planning to do?" he looked so angry. Claude actually started to feel a bit guilty.

"Well, I saw your wrists the other day, and I thought maybe you had an abusive boyfriend."

"And if I did? That still doesn't give you the right to enter my home, and what you just busted in my door. That mess was your right!"

"Yeah..."

"You probably scared poor Luca out of his mind, what the hell is wrong with you!"

"Sorry," Claude said getting to his feet. "I thought you were being hurt, I just wanted to protect you."

"Yeah well, I protect us. That's my job."

"Really, then what happened to your wrists then," Claude asked. He was feeling himself getting angry now.

"Again, that's none of your business. My personal life is none of your business."

"It is if you're going to be my pretend girlfriend!" he glared back. Looking just as upset now.

"Well then maybe I won't be," Alois took a few steps forward and put the Cell phone Claude had given him in his coat pocket. "Get out of my house."

"Alois..."

"Get out!"

"..." he frowned. "Fine."

With that he walked to the door, but without Alois seeing he put the cellphone on the small table stand by the door, and with that he left.

Today he was going to tell her. It had been awhile since Ciel's surgery now and Ciel hadn't told him the truth yet. So today he decided he would just go ahead and tell her he knew. He planned it perfectly. They would have a wonderful evening, dinner and a movie and then when they got home he would tell her.

He could barely concentrate on the movie and dinner was a bit of a fiasco since he kept dropping food and more than once he missed his mouth and brought food up to his cheek leaving a small smear. Ciel laughed at that innocently. If only he knew what was going on in Sebastian's head. He kept rehearsing what he wanted to say over and over in his mind, but he knew himself too well and was already sure that what would come out of it later would be no where near as elegant.

So they got home and he turned on the lights Ceil took a seat on the sofa and started to remove her jewelry.

"Ciel."

"Yeah?"

"I have something I want to tell you."

"Yeah?"

He seemed to be only half paying attention.

"I know Ciel," he explained softly.

"Know what?" Ciel reached up removing her earring and setting it on the table. Then she started working on unlatching the other one.

"That' you're a boy."

She froze a moment before slowly setting the other earring on the counter. "I see..."

She looked a bit like she was about to cry.

"Oh no no no," Sebastian sat down next to her. "Don't be like that, this is a good thing. I know now... You see. It's okay."

"Yeah," she answered still looking upset. It wasn't his knowing that scared her. It was the next part. Now Sebastian was going to have to decide what to do with this information. Was it a turn on for him, would he start demanding that Ciel sleep with him? Was he perhaps going to use it to blackmail him to get him to do unspeakable things? Was he maybe going to explain that this wasn't what he wanted and force him to go home? His teacher had taught him to expect so many things. Ciel was just wondering which one of the horrible men he was taught to expect, would be the man Sebastian turned out to be.

"Well, how about we go to the amusement park tomorrow?" he asked and Ciel looked up at him feeling confused.

"Is that it?" she asked frowning.

"Uh, oh I'm sorry, did you want to discuss it?"

"What no! I just..." Ciel looked away. "Never mind, I'd love to go to the amusement park tomorrow."

"Great! I haven't been in quite a few years, it sounds like a lot of fun."

With that Sebastian went into the kitchen.

So, he was just going to act the same. Like nothing changed? Ciel smiled, maybe he was really marrying a nice guy after all...

The amusement park was a lot of fun. Ciel enjoyed the rides and the ferris wheel and this one crazy contraption that spun you around in a circle so you were pushed up against the wall by the sheer force. He was really enjoying himself until...

"Ciel can I ask you a question?" Sebastian asked while they were walking through the amusement park on their way to the next ride.

"Sure."

Sebastian looked around cautiously before he pulled them away so they were clear of the majority of the crowds around them. He avoided her gaze while asking, because he was already nervous enough to ask. "What gender are you?"

Ciel smiled in his confusion. "You know what gender I am."

"No... I know you dress like a girl, and I know that physically you're a boy. But... what gender are you mentally? In your heart?"

Sebastian turned back to her and he felt his heart sink. Shit, she was upset. Tears were pouring down her face from his words. Maybe he should have known the answer. Maybe this should have been obvious and she was upset that he didn't know straight away. Shit! He looked around for a change of subject. "Oh hey look, they're selling cotton candy!"

He took Ciel's hand leading the way.

Ciel wasn't upset for the reason Sebastian thought. Of all the people in his life, not his Mother, not his Father, not his brother, not his teacher. Of everyone he knew, Sebastian had been the only person to bother to ask him that question. But even more heartbreaking than that... was that he didn't know the answer.

It's been a really long time I know! And I'm sooooooo sorry! Anyway. I hope you enjoyed this chapter!
