TRIGGER WARNING: Rape.
While it is not described in detail, it does happen in this chapter, and this chapter only. I understand that reaction to being raped is different from person to person, and I do not want to upset anyone with how I portrayed Mackenzie's experience. I am sorry if anything said in this chapter offends anyone.
Chapter 19
Wednesday
The cries of a baby lulled me out of unconsciousness, but darkness still encased me when I opened my eyes. I could feel the warmth of my breath on my face, which could only mean a bag was over my head. Slow movements showed that my hands were chained behind my back, and I felt the cold ground against my stomach where I was laying down.
There was the problem that the ground felt a little too cold, and I could feel the chilling air against my skin on my back and legs. Someone had undressed me down to my underwear, and that someone was have a hot date with my fist once I got out of here.
The rhythmic sound of heels clashing against the ground came into the room, continuing until it stopped just in front of me. "Take a picture, it'll last longer." I grumbled, staying still.
The bag was roughly pulled off my head and thrown on the ground next to me. I blinked a couple time to adjust to what little light was in the room and looked around.
I was in a small nursery room, that doubled as what looked like a dungeon? The wall that I was chained to had space for another person on either side of me, and the gray cinder blocks showed as a dreary wall. But on the other half of the room as a crib and pink wallpaper, and I could see the dumpster baby crying on his back in the wooden cage - I mean crib. Tabitha was standing in front of me, looking down at me with distaste.
"Uh, don't know if you got the memo, but that baby is a boy."
She sneered. "I know, that's why I threw him away and left him as bait. I didn't expect you to have an angel to heal him, otherwise I would have just left his whiney ass there."
I raised my eyebrows. "I don't think you'll win the Mom of the Year award with that attitude, sweetheart."
That earned me a pointed toe to the face, knocking my head to the side with a grunt. I spit out some blood on the floor next to her before slowly sitting up, leaning back against the wall as I looked up at her.
"I liked it better when you were unconscious." She muttered, shaking her head at me.
"I liked it better when you hadn't showed up." I retorted.
"Why? Did I ruin your precious our love will never work moment with your angel friend?" She questioned, crossing her arms. "How pathetic."
"How about we just cut to the chase and you tell me what the hell you want? I've got a body to burn after sunset, and I don't want to be late."
"You're not leaving for a little while, honey. Oh no, I need you. You're worth a lot for someone who won't be alive in three days."
"Oohh, so that's what this is about?" I asked, nodding my head a little. "Well then, what are you and how have I wronged you? Did I kill your parents? Maybe I tortured your boyfriend? Or was it a girlfriend? Hey, I don't judge. Swing whatever way you want to, just know that I'm not intereste-" I gasped as my ankle snapped into an awkward position, making me shift with a cry of pain.
"It wasn't me personally that you wronged, but I'll still get a lot of joy from watching this. You've killed a lot of covens, blood lines that should still be growing. All that culture, all of that power destroyed because of you. So now, I'm letting some people get a little taste of you before I dump you somewhere for the hell hounds."
I sucked in a couple breaths, my voice strained from the pain radiating from my ankle. "I don't know what the fuck that means - mostly because I wasn't paying attention - but do you really think it's a good idea for that baby to be here right now? Sure, he's already crying, probably from looking at your face, but that doesn't mean he needs to hear any of this."
"He's here to keep you in line. If breaking you won't get you to shut up, then breaking him will. And I don't think you want me to do that, not after your angel lover healed him for you." She smirked, starting to slowly pace the room as I clenched my jaw and glared. "Now, here's what's going to happen. I have multiple paying customers out there, all of whom will have free range to do whatever they please with you, so long as they don't kill you. Most of them are monsters, I've even found a couple of hunters who you've crossed who want to see you before you belong to Crowley. And if you're a good girl, and get through everyone fast enough, I may dump you in time for you to burn your little body. Sound good?"
I squinted at her, trying to slow my breaths down and ignore the pain. "Paying customers? You know what, I don't even want to know. I don't want to know how my calm day turned into this. I don't want to know what anyone out there has planned for me. I just want to know if you'll make a deal with me." She paused and looked at me, waiting for me to finish.
"If I cooperate, and everyone out there has their little fun and you get whatever payment they're giving you… Dump the baby with me."
Tabitha scoffed. "And why would give you my son?"
"Oh please, you obviously don't care about him, you hate the sound of his crying. I wouldn't come after you with him, I'll be too dead for that. I can take him off your hands, and you would never have to think about him again."
She thought for a couple seconds, considering it. "I'll let you know when the night is over. But do the little lad a favor, and keep your screams quiet, or else he'll be crying all night." She muttered, walking over to the door. "Oh, and do try to enjoy yourself. I hear a couple of those hunters might be gentle with you if you don't squirm too much."
And with that. She left me alone with the crying baby once again.
Third Person
"Run!" Maria screamed, pulling Olivia behind a wall. Her tall friend followed without question, ducking behind the plaster and peeking out over the sides.
"Where are they?" She questioned frantically, Maria just shrugged.
"They were right behind u-"
"Screaming isn't very fancy don't you think?" Dean cut her off as Maria's vest lit up in blue to show that she had been shot, Olivia's vest lit up about a second later as Sam appeared on the other side of them.
"Boi, what the shit?" She questioned, holding her hands up.
The boys chuckled before darting away from their dates before they could get a shot in.
"Not letting your dates win isn't very fancy either!" Maria called after them, huffing once they disappeared. "Man, what happened? I thought we had this one!"
"I don't know, but I'm glad we're not monsters. They'd kill us dead before we could even react." Olivia muttered, shaking her head a little. "Maybe we really should get out of this hunting gig after Red's gone, it will just get us killed."
"Do we really have to talk about that right now?" Maria grumbled, glancing around. "If we stick with Sam and Dean, we might not have a choice even after she's gone."
"I didn't even think about that yet. So much has changed so fast."
"We really don't have to talk about this right now. We're on a date, Olivia. Like, the first date with really nice guys since we died. We deserve to enjoy it after everything that's happened."
Olivia sighed. "Yeah, I guess you're right. But we do need to talk about it at some point."
Maria nodded. "And we will, just not right now. Please." The short girl begged, getting her gun ready.
"Alright, calm your tits, I'm shutting up now. But we need to win this round of fancy."
"Don't worry, we will. Even if it kills me."
She darted out from behind the wall, and just before she could fire at Dean Winchester, the gun turned off and the lights turned on. Dean grinned, calmly walking over to her.
"I do believe I won, my dear lady."
Maria stood tall with her head held high and nodded once. "I do believe you are correct, my good sir. How gracious of you to remind me. I do thank you for the fun game and the wonderful challenge, and I hope we may come again sometime soon." Dean deadpanned as she smiled and curtsied.
Olivia came running up behind Maria, putting a hand on her shoulder. "It would please me as well to return to this fine establishment with you two as our company." She said, nodding at Sam as he slowly walked to stand next to Dean.
"Uh, Dean…"
"Yeah Sammy?"
"Dean I think they beat us."
"Yeah Sammy, they beat us."
Maria and Olivia shared a quiet high five before taking their vests off. "Marivia: 2. Dam: 1" Olivia said and Maria nodded.
"Off to a bar to send darts flying through air and drinks into our hands."
The group returned their lazer tagging gear and headed out to the parking lot, only to be greeted with a worried Castiel standing next to the Impala.
"Cas? What's going on?" Dean questioned, looking around a little.
"I can't find Mackenzie." He said, looking between them all. "I was with her in an alley with a baby, but had to leave. I went back to apologize, and she was gone. I haven't been able to track her."
Olivia looked at her phone and read off a text message. "I got a text from her saying she was going off grid to be alone and think, I'm sure she's fine."
Maria nodded. "She does that to us sometimes, but she always warns us when she'll be unreachable. Don't worry about it."
"Are we going to ignore the fact that Cas mentioned a baby?" Sam questioned, scratching the back of his head.
"I honestly stopped questioning what she finds a long time ago." Maria mumbled, tilting her head a little. "We'll start to worry if she isn't back by tomorrow morning."
"I don't know, man. She also told me she has to burn a body once it gets dark, so maybe we worry then. But not right now."
Dean patted Castiel's shoulder. "Don't worry, Cas. We'll go looking if she isn't back when we are. Just go do your angel stuff and have her text Olivia if you find her." He said, kind of moving Cas out of the way so he could open the door for Maria.
"Besides, some alone time might do her some good, she's been going nonstop for the past couple of days, I'm sure she could use a break." Sam said, going to the other side of the car to open the door so Olivia could get in.
Castiel looked unsure, but he couldn't do anything about it when they all agreed she was okay. He just nodded and vanished, hoping she was okay and he would find her soon.
Mackenzie's POV
I screamed into the Ōkami's hand as it tore into my arm, ripping off another chunk of flesh. Each time a bite was taken from my body, it was carefully calculated so I wouldn't bleed to death, but that didn't mean it was any less painful. So far, four vampires have fed from me, two Vatela have paralyzed me so I couldn't fight off the Rugaru's as they dug into my stomach to taste my blood.
A Wraith dug his weird little wrist horn into the base of my neck to feed off me only a little, a Baku forced a nightmare into my head, and several witches showed up to break more bones and almost drown me from the inside out.
I gasped to catch my breath once the Ōkami had taken its turn and left, squeezing my eyes shut in an attempt to escape from my reality for just a couple seconds. I had so many bite marks, my legs were both broken, and I was missing enough flesh to make a replica of the baby who had stopped crying an hour ago. Tabitha made sure I wasn't in enough pain to pass out, otherwise her customers would be upset.
I heard the door open and looked up to see Castiel come running in, kneeling next to me. I let out a small breath of relief once he was there. "You found me." I whispered, slowly trying to sit up. He put his hands on my shoulders to keep me down as he slowly climbed over me, straddling my waist.
"Cas, what are you doing?" I questioned, glancing around. "We need to go."
He just stared at me, slowly unbuckling his belt and unbuttoning his pants. I shook my head a little as he bent over to kiss my neck, carefully avoiding the bite marks the vampires had left. "You're not Castiel." I whispered quietly, more to myself than to the Shapeshifter.
He slowly pulled back with a grin on his face as he pulled his belt off. "You should have seen the look on your face." He sighed, shaking his head. "Your knight in shining armor won't save you, I doubt he's even looking for you. How does it feel to be so alone?" He growled, striking me in the face with the belt.
I cried out in pain as my neck snapped to the right, making me bite my cheek to muffle myself. He put all his weight on me, wrapping the belt around my neck and pulling it tight. "I've always wondered if an angel could be into some kinky shit. Tell me, was he on the top or the bottom?"
I sucked in as much air as I could, only to have the shifter stick his fingers in my mouth and gag me, pulling my mouth open more. "I should fuck you right now so you can look your angel in the eyes, but I'm sure I'll find you once you've been released, I don't have enough time here to do what I want to anyhow." He said, pulling his fingers out and sitting up again, leaving the belt around my neck.
The shifter started pulling off his Castiel mask, dropping it on the ground next to me so I could see it. "There, that should keep you company for a little while." He stood up, circling me for a couple seconds before kicking my leg. I turned my torso onto its side and kept my scream of pain in my throat, squeezing my eyes shut. "I don't think you have enough broken bones." He commented. "I mean, nothing is sticking out of the skin yet. I can take care of that for you."
I shook my head quickly, trying and failing to move away from him before he grabbed my leg and snapped my shin in half. I couldn't keep that scream in as I saw the bone tearing through my skin. The baby started crying a couple seconds later, causing the shifter to smile as he dropped my leg. "I'll see you soon, toots." He winked, turning and leaving the room.
I coughed as the pain tore through my whole body, making me dizzy and nauseous. I closed my eyes, whispering It's okay, I'm okay, It's okay… Over and over, hardly trying to calm the baby, I had no energy left. But, of course, Tabitha had more customers left.
The door opened again, and I didn't even bother to open my eyes yet, I needed a break, just a couple minutes to not go into shock. I felt a hand on my waist, and a body fitting its way between my legs. I hissed when they moved my legs, gentle as they were, it still hurt.
When I finally opened my eyes, I saw that it was a hunter I knew. His wife had gotten killed on a case I had stumbled upon. He already had his pants undone and tugged down, and I made sure I didn't look at what he had pulled out. "Don't." I whispered, leaning my head back against the ground.
He moved his hands up and down my sides, leaning over me so his face was close to mine. "Did you know she was pregnant when she died?" He questioned, moving one of the cups of my bra out of the way so he could see my bare breast. "Of course you didn't, you skipped town as soon as the werewolf was dead." He shook his head, moving his head down to bite my chest.
I tried to take deep breaths to stay calm, shaking my own head. "I didn't know, I'm sorry."
He grabbed the belt around my neck and tightened it so I couldn't speak. "You're only sorry because your mistakes are finally coming back to bite you in the ass." He growled, moving his hips into me. "You've been here with monster after monster, and now here I am, a human like you, ready to hurt you any way I know how. Humans are a different type of monster, we're driven by feelings." He mumbled, reaching down to move my underwear out of the way. "And I know that the best way to hurt a strong, prideful woman like you, is to take away your dignity."
He moved his tip against me, slowly fitting it inside me before slamming himself all the way in when I squirmed. I arched into him with a muffled grunt, unable to make a sound with the belt so tight. "I want you to beg for it. I want the only sounds you make to be for me to keep going until I finish." He groaned, letting go of the belt so I could breathe. "Tell me you want me."
I gasped in oxygen as soon as I could, holding back a growl of anger. "I want you." I whispered, turning my head so I didn't have to look at him as he slowly started thrusting. He went slow so my legs weren't jostled too much, until he wanted me to tell him to go harder, and faster. I kept staring at the mask the shifter had left behind, trying to just get through it until he was done. It felt like an eternity, but when he finished, he finished inside me.
"Tell me I'm the best you've ever had." He demanded, sitting up and fixing his pants. I swallowed thickly, my throat was so dry it hurt.
"You're the best I've ever had." I whispered. It took everything inside of me not to snarl at him or attempt to kick him somehow. He stood up, spat on my stomach, and walked out of the room.
The next three people Tabitha sent in all wanted the same thing. They all wanted me to feel terrible, and I did, but my anger was more powerful. I found myself getting more enraged the more they wanted me to submit, to feel used and dirty. They finished on my face, chest, and stomach, none of them fixing my underwear after they left.
Tabitha came back in after the last one had finished up with me, her distasteful look making me furious. She came over and set the shifter's Castiel mask on my stomach, just leaving it there. "Now that wasn't so bad, was it?" She sneered, going over to the crib to pick up the crying baby. "I'll let you take the baby, even though if you weren't already dying, you might have one of your own from tonight."
I stared up at the ceiling, trying to breathe normally. "Just let me go. Please." I begged, slowly closing my eyes to keep from glaring. I heard her footsteps come closer to me before stopping.
"Sleep now, and when you wake up, you'll be able to call for your precious angle to find you." She whispered, and I could feel her setting the baby on the ground next to me. I tried to scoot closer to him, but my movements were cut short as I was swallowed by darkness once again.
Wednesday Night
When I woke up again, I was in the same position I had been in when I slipped into unconsciousness, except now the baby was quiet, and the chains had turned into ropes. I coughed as the freezing night air filled my lungs, looking over to see if the baby was still okay. The witch left us in a graveyard, at night, in October, with no clothes on. She had left the baby in only a diaper, and I could see him shivering.
I didn't want to call Castiel while I was like this, but I was too weak to move, and the baby was too cold. "Cas." I whispered, swallowing thickly again before trying to raise my voice. "Castiel!"
The ruffle of his coat sounded next to me, and within a couple seconds I felt Castiel's warm hands on my face. "What happened?" He asked, his voice grave with worry. I shook my head at him, trying so hard not to cry from frustration.
"The baby, help the baby." I croaked out, opening and closing my eyes a couple times to stay awake. Castiel took a couple seconds to pull his hands away before quickly shrugging off his trench coat to wrap around the baby. He set the baby down gently next to him and visibly tried to figure out what happened.
"I came back to talk and you were gone." He said, carefully loosening the belt and moving it off of my neck and out of my sight. He picked up the shifter's mask next, looking at it for a couple seconds before tossing it away.
"A witch. The baby was bait."
He tried to fix my underwear before taking off his suit jacket and gently draping it over me. I could see him try to ignore what I was covered in, but I knew he could tell what it was. "Don't move." He said, cupping my cheek again. I felt the broken bones pop back into place, felt my skin growing to fill in the holes left by the numerous bite marks, making me whimper in pain as he healed me. As soon as I was okay physically he helped me sit up and untie my hands.
I immediately leaned against him, trying to get enough energy to be as pissed as I felt. "I'm going to kill them, every last one of them." I growled weakly, clinging to Castiel.
He wrapped his arms around me, sitting down all the way as he scooped me into his lap. "Who did this to you?" He ground out angrily, trying to stay calm to help me through this. I just shook me head, leaning my head against his chest.
"They paid Tabitha to be there. Vampires, Vatelas, Shapeshifters, Rugarus, Ōkamis, Wraiths, hunters. It took hours to get through them all."
He tightened his hold on me. "Hunters did this? I don't understand, they're supposed to be on your side."
"I worked on cases and got someone they loved killed. It was all revenge." I scoffing, shivering against him. "I guess being the good guy isn't good for a shit ton of people. Maybe it would be easier to be the bad guy instead."
Castiel shook his head. "Don't think like that. You need to rest, and eat something. Let me take you back to your room."
"I need to burn a body."
"I took care of that for you. Worry about yourself form once in your life, Mackenzie." He said worriedly, shifting to pick up the baby and put him in my lap. Within seconds, the air was warmer, there was no wind, and there was light. I lifted my head to find that we were back in my hotel room.
Cradling the baby to me, I closed my eyes and leaned my head against Castiel again. "I just want it all the be over." I whispered quietly.
"That's not true." Castiel said, tightening his hold on me. "You want to have a normal life, you want monsters to be fictional again." He stood up with me in his arms, walking to gently lay me down on the bed. "You need to rest, don't think about anything, just rest."
He went to the sink to get me a glass of water and a wet washcloth, bringing it back over and trading it for the baby. I watched as Castiel carefully emptied my suitcase, put a pillow inside, and set the baby down on top of it. I took a couple sips of the water before shakily putting it down on the nightstand, breathing deeply in an attempt to calm down.
"Please don't leave me, Castiel."
He shook his head, sitting down on the bed next to me so he could clean my face and torso with the washcloth. "I won't. I won't leave your side, I promise." He nodded, making sure he cleaned everything before pulling the covers over me and climbing into bed next to me. "Rest now." He said, cupping my cheek as warmth and love flowed over me, lulling me into the most peaceful sleep I've had in a long, long time.
