Tris looked up and saw the one person who could possibly make things more complicated. Four.
He looked down giving her a confused sort of look.
"Do you have some sickness I don't know about? Because you're as pale as a ghost."
Tris was looking for words to explain, but instead she just turned scarlet at the thought of telling him what happened yesterday evening. Four, being the gentlemen that he is, extended his arm towards Tris to help her up. She gladly took it and followed him into the training room.
Like much of their relationship, they did not speak much for the next little while. Four did not push her for questions of where she was last night or why her face was slowly turning so many colours, instead they did what they did best. They punched things and threw knives at each other's heads.
No one knows how much time passed before the other initiates started to trickle into the room and Four put on his Instructor attitude.
"All right! Be quiet and listen! We will be reviewing some basic training today, starting with fighting. Everyone is paired up already; check the list on the back wall!"
With people at her heels, Tris rushed to go see who she was paired against, hoping to god it wasn't Molly or Edward or...NO!
"It can't be!"She thought to herself. Did he know? Did Four know? Is this some kind of sick joke?!
Obviously Peter thought the same thing since he was staring at Tris with a look she had never seen before. Something between shock and sadness. Without having to say a word to each other they stormed towards Four.
Tris: Hey, I can't fight him! The weight and height proportions aren't anywhere near each other, it's unfair!
Four: Really? Wow, I thought you had a little more self confidence than that Tris.
Peter: She's right, it's not fair; give me a least a little more challenge than a stiff!
At that, Four seemed slightly taken aback at the fact that out of all people, Peter would have something to say about who he had to fight.
Nevertheless, he didn't care, even if this was Tris we were talking about. They have to fight.
The Tension was up between both Peter and Tris. Two minutes into the Fight and no one has truly touched each other. A couple light swings and hits were given but nothing too harmful. Peter did NOT want to hurt Tris, but he also didn't want to let his reputation down.
He stopped thinking and just did. He took her to the floor knowing she couldn't fight beat him if she tryed and he punched her till she had a bloody nose. He heard some gasps and some cheers coming from around the room, but he was blanking out. All he could see was her face...strong but weak at the same time.
Then he did something he could not believe. At the last moment, he went easy on her; Tris got to her feet and immediately went to kick him in the stomach. Peter could have EASILY stopped her, but he didn't. Instead he fell to the floor, with pain running through his body and blood on his face. He did not get up, letting Tris win?
What is this? He thought to himself. Why is he letting this small stiff getting through his mind...?
When he finally decided to get up, everyone was just staring at him with mouths wide open, others were congratulating Tris.
He couldn't deal with the humiliation or questions right now, so he got up and dragged himself to his dormitory.
