Welcome Back! Thank you for all of the sweet review I have gotten. New in this Chapter: Bella Swan and part-time jobs.

This is going to be a longer story folks. A lot of inner conflict, ugly truths, and it won't all be exactly the same as the book. For example, Renesme will not be Jacob's imprint. As mentioned in summary there will be a lot of Bella bashing done by the wolves. I'm always up for hearing new ideas and things, but if you want to complain about a change I've made or a path I'm taking I'm afraid you've come to the wrong place.

Thank you for choosing to read this story. It's amazing how people from around the world join together over literature. We have readers from Portugal, Slovakia, The Russian Federation, Hungary, Australia, and even a reader from the Islamic Republic of Iran. I'm going to put some more foreign countries in each chapter note cause I think that it's really cool how people everywhere read the same things. We currently have 55 favorites and 95 followers! Holy Cow! Now to enjoy another chapter! This Chapter is going to be ENTIRELY Minerva POV.

Thanks for waiting so long!

Minerva didn't hear much from the Cullen clan after that night. She hadn't seen pale hide or fair hair from any of them. School made people busy, she realized. Just because Edward was a practically perfect gentleman did not mean he got practically perfect grades. But two weeks was also a long time. Things at school had almost gotten back to the way they were before Paul had his… transformation. Matt and Grant were still bullying her, (she'd only had one other day like Friday, and that was the Wednesday after) she didn't have any friends at school. There were only two things that were truly different.

First, Paul Lahote hadn't attacked her in any way, shape or form.

Second, Jared Cameron kept trying to talk to her.

It freaked her out. He said hi in the hallways, sat next to her in class, and heck, he even tried to invite her to a party. Minerva constantly attempted avoiding him, almost as much as she attempted to avoid Paul. "Hey, Minerva! Wait up!" If she didn't know better, she'd say he had a crush on her. "We have the next class together, remember?" Her only answer was a small yes. "You have thought about going to the bonfire, right? Last time I asked you said maybe, have you reached a decision yet?" A small shake of her head. She kept her head down and tried to make it look like he was talking to someone else, she could feel the stares on her back. Couldn't he realize the danger he was putting her in? Jared stooped down beside her. "Aw, come on Minerva! You'll know some people there like…" He drifted off, having no clue who she hung out with on the Rez. "Well, I'm sure there is someone you know there. Actually, I don't think I've seen to talk to anyone besides (A rude name for our librarian, ) and the other faculty, unless I'm scaring them off of course." Another small shake of the head. It seemed like she finally got him to quiet down. Jared straightened back up, with a thoughtful look on his face. His voice was much less loud when he spoke next. "Hey, I'm your friend, right?" Well, if you consider a stalker, whom I know practically nothing about, whom knows almost nothing about me, and has been following me for the past couple weeks a friend then yes. So she just shrugged. Jared gave a dramatic gasp, "I've been shot through the heart! Minerva, darling, I thought what we had was real!" She blushed at the scene he was causing. Suddenly a chill went down her spine. Peeking around, she saw Paul a couple yards behind them. Seeing the slight bit of mirth drain from her eyes, Jared also took a quick peek around. Looking back down at her, he thought aloud, "You know he's trying to turn over a new leaf, right?" Minnie looked at him with a shocked expression. "Yea, it's been pretty tough for him, but Sam has been a big help in that." Another skeptical look was thrown in his direction. "Oh yea, Sam told me you met him and Emily at the store a couple weeks ago! They are actually the ones who host the bonfire. He had been telling them about some of the stuff he used to do and your name came up. I could barely believe most of it myself. But he really is trying. Some things just put him on edge, like the CCC." She finally gave him a real reply, even if it was very quiet. "What's the CCC?" "It stands for Creepy Cullen Clan" She gave a tiny giggle.

"Jared, that's ridiculous! I get that the Cullens are paler then I am, and they have strange colored eyes, but they're really nice people." Minerva softly retorted with a small grin on her face. "So she speaks!" Jared hollered with a laugh. "I'd wondered if I'd been talking to a ghost." The bell was about to ring. They entered the classroom quickly, but before they separated Jared said one last thing, "Keep thinking about that party!"

The Bonfire. Everyone at school has heard of the Hall Monitor Bonfires at La Push Beach. They are strictly invite only, and anyone who was invited (after the party) became very close with the group. It's considered a huge honor.

So why did Jared invite her?

Heck, why was Jared Cameron even talking to her?

This was neither the time, nor place to think such deep thoughts though. Minerva had recently started helping Sue out around the diner. Ingrid didn't mind, since she got a small pay for her time. And since Leah had gotten more introverted and avoided what Sue had called 'The Pack', they were a bit understaffed. Sue and 3 other waiters, a cooking staff of about 4-6 people every night (now including Minerva) and either Rez students, Seth or another seventh grader named Maggie were bussing tables… Oh good lord…

The order was huge and she was glad she did a lot of prep work.

6 burgers, with everything but mayo. Sides of fries with each along with three appetizers of buffalo wings. A Caesar Salad, with Italian dressing, and 2 whole apple pies. The bill was to be split three ways. Minerva hoped it was just a large family passing through. Sue stopped back to talk to her as she was rushing through the prep and getting started on the piecrusts. "Honey, what are you doing?" She asked dumbfounded at the sight before her. "There's a huge order, and if I want everything to be finished at the same time, in a proper amount of time, I have to multitask." Minerva's answer was barely heard over the sounds of the kitchen staff. "There is no need to tire yourself out, Minnie. That order is for a bunch of regulars. Let me get those pie crusts and when you're done, if you could help me carry it out?" "Of course, Mrs. Clearwater." Minerva meekly replied, glad that at least one item was finished on her to-do list. "How many times have I told you to call me Sue?"

Minerva took the tray with the burgers. She followed Sue out of the kitchen doors, and shyly looked around for the large group who would have ordered so much at such a small restaurant. There weren't that many customers though and Sue was headed for a group in the back. A group that had black hair, dark skin and large muscles. They all looked able to tower over Minerva while standing up. This was the La Push Gang, which included Sam, Miss Emily's fiancée, Jared, her own new stalker and maybe friend, and Paul, ex-tormentor and man-slut of the Rez. As Sue walked casually over to the table, Minerva felt like she was getting smaller and smaller as they reached to hungry boys. (And upon further study, Miss Emily was sandwiched into the booth as well.) "Ok," Sue's suddentalking startled her for a second, "We have one salad of the petite thing in the corner, 2 burgers per growing boy, and some appetizers to be refilled. Did we miss anything?" "We?" Sam's low growl was deeper then she remembered. "Oh come on out, don't be shy. You're going to be doing this one day." Sue nudged Minerva out of her shadow. "Oh, Hello again." Sam tried for a smile but it just made her tenser. "Minerva! I didn't know you worked here!" Jared shouted exuberantly. She gave a heavy blush. "Have you thought anymore about my offer?" "What did you do, Jared?" Emily chortled. "What?" He caught sight of Paul's not-so-subtle death glare. "OH! Nothing like that, I just kind of maybe invited Mins to the Bonfire this weekend?" "You didn't tell them you invited me?" Minerva froze wide eyed. They weren't expecting her? She would have thought Jared would check with the hosts before inviting her! "I, um, can't talk right now… I've got to… get the apple pies in the oven! So, yea I-I'll see you at sch-s-school." Minerva stuttered out the words then fled. She could faintly her a thump and a deep voice groaning, "I know, I'm an idiot!"

While the pies were in the oven, another feint chime of the doorbell rang out. Minerva went out, seeing Sue was too involved talking with the group. The couple that walked in was just getting seated. Cheif Swan and a girl that looked much too young for him. This was most likely Bella, saying as Sue couldn't stop talking about her. She looked a bit worse for wear, with her arm in a cast along with her leg, but there weren't any crutches, which is always a good thing. Minerva grabbed an extra notepad and went to take their orders. "H-hello. What can I-I get for you today?" "Two of the usu-… You're not Sue." Chief Swan stopped. "I'm Minerva. I u-u-usually work in t-th-t-the kitchen. Mrs. Clearwater is k-kind of busy a-at the moment." Minerva sputtered out. "Well, the usual for me is a cheeseburger, steak fries and a coffee. Bells will have the same, but with sweet tea and a side salad.". "Y-Yes sir. Give me 15 minutes to get that together."

Minerva slipped over to Sue, and gave her the notepad. In a voice quieter than a mouse, "Chief Swan needs a coffee and a sweet tea." Then she returned to her work in the back.
