Time
Disclaimer: I don't own anything.
"One minute dear," Ilane of Mindelan told her daughter Keladry who stood in front of her at the age of five. The little girl began counting and Ilane smiled knowing that in exactly sixty seconds she would get another tap on the shoulder. Keladry was always exact when it came to being somewhere at the right time. She seemed to think time was all that mattered…
To nineteen year old Keladry of Mindelan time was nothing. Time was an empty space between people they tried to fill by saying "too much" or "too little" time was there. Time was something that the court used to get their way, and that the stable hands used to count their feeding by. Time was air and there was nothing remotely important to it. Or at least Kel saw it that way. Because if time really was the reason things happened a lot of people would not be together at the moment.
Sir Alanna and her husband were years apart in age as were Daine and Numair. Yuki and Neal as well, had years separating them. IT was why Kel believed that time was just an excuse. And as she always thought, excuses often came for stupid reasons.
So if time really was so very important she wouldn't be sitting her hands intertwined with Domitan of Masbolle's. If time were really mattered then Daine and Numair, Alanna and George, or Neal and Yuki wouldn't be together at the moment. If time really mattered then Kel knew that a lot of people wouldn't be happy.
That's why she glad that she discovered that time didn't matter so much.
A/N: This was just a random little thing that came to me. This was just something that I thought up randomly and decided to go along with the idea.
