She Dreams

Notes: Vague spoilers for 1.13: A Clue, No.

She dreams.

She dreams that one day this will all be over. The King will return, for real this time, the Sheriff and Gisbourne will be trialled for the error of their ways and she, well, she will finally get her happy ending with Robin.

Though she'd not admitted it to him and no intention of doing so any time in the near future, she often dreams about such a future. They would be wed in the spring and would live at his place, at Locksley. She'd be near to her father to take care of him and they could all live in peace, in quiet, for once.

They'd still all look out for the poor, of course. It had become a part of who they were. There'd not however have to be arrows exchanged in the heat of battle to do so. Things would be good. Great. They'd be as she had always wanted, how they'd been years earlier before the King left.

She dreams and she hopes and she waits and she will continue to do so until the fantasies in her mind come true. In the meantime, she does what she can for her people, for her father, for Robin. It's not much but she's always believed: every bit counts.
