I can't believe how boring it is to just stand and stare at the wall. I could be in the rec room with the others right now if Duke wasn't such a butthead. I walk to my bed and flop onto it. The mattress and pillows are too soft and fluffy. Don't get me wrong, I love soft and fluffy things … just not to sleep on. I like sleeping on firm mattresses and pillows. When I visited Japan, Grandpa bought me this pillow made of bamboo. I loved that thing til my mother got rid of it. My thinking is interrupted by sirens.
I scramble out of my bed as fast as I can and run out my room. I follow all the others running until we get to the main area. I look around quickly and see Anna, a white clothed ninja, and some armored people. I decide to try my hand at the ninja guy. I run over gun in hand, rapidly firing as I go. He is a really good swordsman because he's cutting them in half. I finally get to him and take a swing at him. He deflects it and spin kicks me in the face. I stagger back a bit before attacking again; he throws a punch to which I dodge. I heard Rip and get distracted long enough for him to cut my forearm. He sends me flying with another kick. I hit my head on one of the pillars and black out.
It's black for a long time until I see multiple flashes. The first is of what looks to be a younger me and the brown haired boy. We're just talking, laughing, being kids. The second one is of a black haired Asian boy talking to me, he looks angry. The third is of the brown haired boy and me sitting under a cherry blossom tree again. We were just talking until he brushes my cheek looking deep in my eyes. He says something before leaning in and placing a kiss on my lips. It looks innocent and sweet. I wake with a start and quickly sit up. I feel a hand gently push me back down on my right shoulder. I look to my right and see Snake Eyes looking down at me. His body language says he's concerned.
"Hey Snake Eyes, what's the damage? How long was I out?" I ask him.
He points to my arm, I look to see it bandaged. I shrug I guess it could have been worse. I look back at Snake Eyes and see him shaking his head. That's not it? What else is injured? I don't feel any pain. He gently grabs my hand and softly places it on my head. I feel the bandages wrapped around.
"Oh, a couple of scratches … at least nothing's broken. Is anyone else hurt?" I ask concerned.
He just looks at me, he's aura is dripping sadness. Who else is hurt? Is someone . . . dead? Is it Duke? I hope not and I've been giving him the cold shoulder. My thoughts are interrupted by the door opening, in comes Duke and Ripcord. I smile a bit, I'm still mad but I'm happy they're okay.
"Hey, little sis, how you feeling?" Rip ask me.
"I'm good, just excited to go back to training", I say the last part sarcastically.
"I bet you are", Rip jokes, rolling his eyes.
"Myst, I am sorry for before. I shouldn't have said that to you", Duke says.
I roll my eyes at him.
"Duke, you don't get it. You defend me from anyone and everything, but yourself. You bully me more than other people. 'Don't be silly Mystie, that can never happen', 'You're just kidding yourself Myst, you'll never be able to do it', but what are you always telling me? 'Don't listen to anything others say, because I believe in you', no you don't, if you did you wouldn't say those things", I vent out. My eyes flicker to Snake Eyes. "Oh and by the way I did meet a ninja so in. your. Face", I taunt him.
He opens his mouth as if to say something but then close it. I look at Rip, he looks completely uncomfortable. He always does when Duke and I argue; he doesn't like to pick sides. I look at Snake and he just places a hand on my arm. I smile at him, gosh he's great.
"Myst", Duke starts but I cut him off.
"Is everyone else okay? Am I the worst of the attack?" I ask hopeful.
"General was cut up pretty badly; a wheelchair will be need for sometime", Rip answers. "Everyone else managed to come out clean with very few casualties on our side."
"That's good, well I'll be leaving now", I announce and try getting up, Rip stops me.
"No, you don't. Doc says you need to stay at least another day", Duke says.
"I don't want to! I can lie on MY bed in MY room", I whine. "Bring in the doctor!"
Duke presses the call button and the doctor comes in.
"May I be of any assistance?" he asks.
"Yes, can I go to my room? I'll stay in bed if I have to", I negotiate.
"Well you'd need someone to monitor you just in case", He cracks.
I mean it could be the fact I'm glaring a hole into his face. My hand is inching towards Snake Eyes sword. I don't actually care why. I immediately look at Ripcord. He's eyes go wide and he frantically shake his head no. I pout and slowly look at Snake Eyes. I was my eyebrows at him with a smile growing. He shrug his shoulders, I'll take it.
"Cool, Snakey lead me to my room, please", I say getting out of the bed.
"Miss, you're going to need to take one of these pills for any pain", Doc explain handing me a bottle of painkillers.
I salute and grab Snake Eyes by the hand before running out. We hit the first corner and he makes me stop. I look at him in concern. He just stands there for a second before pulling me into a hug. He's very mindful of my arm and head. The hug is warm and comforting. He may not say it but I know he was really worried about me and cares for me. I hug back as well as I can without hurting my arm.
"Snake? I'm glad I have you in my life", I confess.
He just squeezes me a little tighter. I'll take that means he feel the same, but does he like me like I like him? I hope so. I feel like I know him and he knows me. It's weird but I like it.
A/N: SORRY FOR NOT UPDATING BUT IT GOT REAL CRAZY REAL FAST AROUND HERE. I DO PLAN TO CONTINUE AND DO THE NEXT MOVIE AS WELL. HOPEFULLY I CAN UPDATE MORE SINCE IT'LL BE SUMMER BREAK SOON BUT I'M JOB HUNTING TOO. HOPE YOU LIKE THIS CHAPTER!
