(Mukuro's POV)
I rest my hands on the table in front of me as the train zips by the countryside. Kanda has placed his sword on the table separating us as he closes his eyes to rest.
I cannot believe that he called me a freak…again. Hm. I would have stabbed him in the eye sooner if it were not for Allen by my side. The last thing I need to do is to scar the poor boy by witnessing his precious friend bleeding from his eye socket as his eyeball as a new decoration on my trident! Hmph.
Then I felt Allen's hand on my left thigh… Oh my, is Allen trying to feel me up? (o.o)
I would love to think that, actually, because it gives me an excuse to ravish him when we come back…
"Mukuro…" Allen whispers to me. "You will be okay by yourself, right? I could try to ask Kanda to switch roles with you…"
"As much as I would love to accept the offer, I do not think that the idiot should be alone for the mission," I whisper back.
"Mm…" Allen sighs quietly and glides his hand up and down my thigh gently. The kid is jumping up and down on my last nerve. I swear, is he even a virgin or has he done this before…?
Either way, he is acting QUITE naughty for a 15 year old boy….
Once we arrive at the village, we get off the train and enter the abandoned area.
"All right, this is where we split up. Don't die, you freak," Kanda glares at me.
"Well, I wish I could say the same for you. Have fun~" I reply as I wave at him. Allen, on the other hand, looks at me with concern, but I give him a small reassuring smile before I turn around and head in a different direction.
I could feel the effects of being away from Allen immediately, but the headaches are somewhat mild, so I am still able to function. After a while of walking, I am exploring around the abandoned houses when I come across a small family and a lone man hiding under the debris.
"Ar-Are you here to save us?" the father of the family asks me hesitantly.
"Yes, do not worry. I'll get you people somewhere safe. There is a train not far from here, I'll guide you to it," I reply.
(Allen's POV)
We are too late. We stand there staring at the leftover shell of the former Level 3 Akuma. The statue of the beautiful woman, standing within the pile of her victims in hideous distorted forms. Her stomach, abnormally large, has already been ripped open, from the inside-out. Judging from the smoke emitting from the debris around the statue, the Level 4 Akuma is still nearby. Kanda and I look at each other for a moment before we nod and prepare to synchronize with our Innocence to combat against the Akuma. I look around cautiously until I detected movement behind a pile of fallen walls.
"Kanda! Over there!"
We both stand in our guard and wait for the akuma to appear. Painfully slow, the akuma giggles creepily and slowly appears from the debris. It took all of my energy to not choke and puke at the sight of it. I gulp down the nervousness and we brace ourselves as it rushes towards us. I think of my friends, Kanda, and especially Mukuro. I do not want anyone else to die in front of me again!
(Mukuro's POV)
I search for any other survivors until a voice stops me in my tracks.
"Hm. I haven't seen you around here before. How about we have a nice little chat, eh?"
I turn my head to the side to see a tall lean man, wearing a suit and top hat, standing a fair distance behind me. His noticeable features are his dark hair, his dark skin, and the crosses on his throat and forehead. He stares at me with teasing yellow eyes with a sly smirk on his face. From what I remember reading, this man must be a Noah and it is best not to mess with someone like him. I question how I always bring myself into these kind of messes.
"Oya? I don't have time for a small chat. Go bother someone else."
"Oh, that's a shame. Here I was thinking about the many ways I can play with you," he says teasingly. This man is already annoying me.
"I don't have time to play with you. Besides, I refuse to be the receiver of your actions."
"And you expect me to be the receiver? Oh, no no no~ We can't have that now," he replies as he tips his hat forward. Well, is he a proper gentleman. This man is getting on my nerves.
"I had enough of your games. Leave or else I will be the one toying with you and your body," I respond as I bring out my trident.
The man chuckles before saying, "I'm afraid that it'll be the other way around. Let's dance."
(Normal POV)
Tyki Mikk moves his hand and a large number of Teez appear and flutter towards Mukuro. As Mukuro is focusing his attention on the butterfly golems, Tyki Mikk moves closer, preparing to "choose" Mukuro's organs. Mukuro's red eye shifts to number "3" and summons a flock of ravens to attack the golems. Right after he summons the ravens, he realizes that Tyki Mikk has moved close enough for his hand to touch his torso. Reacting quickly, he swings his trident to prick his hand, but Tyki Mikk jumps away from him to dodge his attack.
"I see. You're not just a worthless human, after all," Tyki Mikk states with a smirk as he glances over to see the ravens and Teez devour each other.
"How insulting that you would group me with 'worthless humans'," Mukuro says with his signature smirk.
"I am going to have a lot of fun with you. You'll be begging for mercy when I'm done with you," Tyki Mikk replies with a deep chuckle.
"Not if I have you begging on your knees first," Mukuro finishes as they both charge at each other.
Sounds of pebbles cracking under their feet and the metal of Mukuro's trident clinking harshly against the ground echoes throughout their desolate surroundings. Mukuro and Tyki Mikk continue to fight each other, neither one of them leaving a scratch on each other. It was not until Mukuro exposes a weak spot that Tyki Mikk charges at him, hand outstretched to aim at one of Mukuro's vital organs. What Tyki Mikk did not expect is his hand to jab the surface of Mukuro's torso. Mukuro grunts in slight pain and aims his trident at Tyki Mikk's face. Tyki Mikk barely steps out of the way and jumps a fair distance between the two.
This doesn't make any sense. It didn't work...but how? Unless...he's not… Tyki Mikk's thoughts stop there as he realizes that Mukuro is not completely human and not even part of this world.
He's exposed. I have my chance! Mukuro charges at him with his trident.
Tyki Mikk quickly recovers and uses his "refusal" ability. All of a sudden, Mukuro stops right before reaching Tyki Mikk.
"What...is this…," Mukuro barely says as he struggles to breathe in oxygen. The oxygen around him is being sucked out and there is so much pressure on his body that he struggles to stand on his own two legs.
"Well, it's clear now who wins this battle. Now I can have my fun and watch you slowly die," Tyki Mikk says with a dark chuckle. He watches Mukuro fall harshly onto all fours as he struggles to breathe. He can hear his breathing getting shorter and raspier. "Now, are you going to beg for your life? Do you wish for mercy?" Mukuro looks up at him with a defiant glare as his face starts to pale with only a few more seconds before he loses consciousness. "You're not going to beg? That's not fun. I want to play with you for just a little longer…"
Tyki Mikk prepares to crush Mukuro's body with more pressure until he feels a pricking pressure on his back. His eyes widen slightly as he turns his head quickly. He sees Mukuro standing behind him, even though he can clearly hear the same man choking for air at his feet. Tyki Mikk looks closely at him only to realize that the number on his red eye has changed. It is not a "3," but a "1."
(Mukuro's POV)
"In case you're confused, you were having fun with an illusion. I must say, for a Noah, you're quite gullible. Did you think you actually won this battle? Tsk. Now I'll be the one having fun with your body now that I marked you."
It is quite comical to see the look of shock on this man's face. Now let me see what it is like to possess a Noah's body…
"...!"
I hear movement behind me and I turn quickly to see two akuma, ready to pounce on me. I jump to the side quickly to dodge their attacks only to realize that Noah is already gone.
"Damn."
It is obvious that these akuma were summoned to distract me as he made his escape. I did not have time to deal with these pesky monsters. In the distance, I hear a horrific and monstrous scream. The scream is loud enough to make my ears ring in pain slightly, but I recover quickly. I have a terrible feeling that Allen is in danger. So, I use the Realm of Hell upon the akuma and let them play with an illusion as I rush in the other direction towards Allen and that idiot.
(Allen's POV)
We cannot do it. We failed to exorcise the Level 4. Kanda and I are lying on the ground, struggling to get up. The pain is extreme and I still feel so sick from looking at the akuma. It used its Akuma Scream and we can barely move.
"I-I...can't synchronize…," I barely say as each breath is painful to take.
"Me...neither...Beansprout…," Kanda replies weakly.
I do not want to die here. I do not want Kanda to die here. We have to return to our friends in the Black Order… I have to come back for Mukuro...Mukuro… I repeat his name one last time as the akuma moves closer to us.
Mukuro…
The sound of metal and a distorted scream of pain reaches my ears. I look up with the strength that I have left only to see Mukuro standing in front of us, facing the akuma.
"M-Mukuro…"
I hear him chuckle that I thought I would never hear again.
"I'm sorry I took so long. Here, you were worried about me. It seems to be the other way around now." Mukuro gets into an offensive stance as he prepares to fend off the akuma.
"Your Innocence...what happened," I hear Mukuro say.
"Kanda and I...can't synchronize with our Innocence," I reply weakly.
"Perfect. Your suffering will be my gain." Mukuro then charges at the akuma.
I am confused after he says those words. Then I remember that Mukuro is weaker when he is near Innocence.
That means Mukuro is…
I look to see Mukuro fending off the akuma successfully. Mukuro's red eye has a strong aura radiating from it and the number "4" is indicated on it. I still did not know most of his abilities, but I can see that Mukuro is a lot stronger and that is why he is not struggling against the akuma. I could not help but watch in admiration. This is the first time I get to see Mukuro fight. I realize that my body does not feel as numb and I slowly move to get up.
(Mukuro's POV)
It did not take long to wear down the akuma's energy since I have been able to catch up with its quick movements. I only assume that it does not tolerate a creature from Hell very well. I glance quickly to the side to find Allen slowly getting up from the ground. I feel a sense of relief and I continue to fight off the akuma. I only have to wait a little longer and Allen will be able to exorcise it. I would have loved to tear this monster into pieces after seeing Allen on the ground, but Allen would not be happy about the soul being destroyed.
Right when Allen is charging at the akuma, ready to exorcise it, the akuma releases a burst of Dark Matter and I could not escape before it hits me in the gut. The air is pushed out of my lungs and I crash into the debris behind me. Some of the debris lands on me, slowly crushing parts of my body. I grunt in immense pain as I hear the akuma release its final scream.
I cannot recall, but I must have blacked out shortly afterwards because when I open my eyes again, I see Allen looking down at me with worry in his eyes.
"Mukuro," he says with his sweet voice. He hugs my head tightly to his chest. It feels so warm and I can feel his heart pounding. He must have been so scared that I would never wake up.
"Allen...I don't feel so well…," I admit to Allen. I feel so ill for some reason.
"I know, Mukuro. You're infected, but somehow your body is resisting against the infection. It'll give us more time to bring you back home and heal you. Don't worry, Mukuro! I'll make sure you'll live," Allen says so quickly that I barely catch what he is saying.
"But, Allen...I would feel much better if you let me take your body for just a moment…"
"...What?!"
"Kufufu...I'm kidding." I slowly drift into unconsciousness, but not before hearing Allen's last words.
"This is no time for jokes, Mukuro! Kanda, don't drop him!"
